Coming up on today's live Blue Peter,

6:48:106:48:12

we show you how to trick your friends with photos like these.

6:48:126:48:16

We visit Kiev, where they make chicken with a runny garlic centre.

6:48:196:48:22

Only kidding, it is a city where

6:48:226:48:23

the Euro 2012 final will be held this weekend.

6:48:236:48:26

And Stephan Gates milkshakes it up with the Shake It Up Girls.

6:48:266:48:30

Do it, do it. Good job.

6:48:306:48:32

-Hello.

-Hello. Hi.

6:48:506:48:52

-Welcome to Blue Peter.

-Welcome to the show, how you doing?

6:48:526:48:55

Now, let's talk about England. Their dreams of winning Euro 2012

6:48:556:48:58

are shattered. They were beaten last Sunday by Italy.

6:48:586:49:01

So that leaves one question, who's going to win the tournament?

6:49:016:49:04

Luckily for us, we have two guys in the know.

6:49:046:49:06

It's time for our footie pundits, Bobby and Will.

6:49:066:49:09

Welcome to the final edition of Bobby And Will's Kick-off

6:49:126:49:16

with me, Bobby Fuller.

6:49:166:49:17

And for the final time, me Will Nye.

6:49:176:49:19

And speaking of finals, we've got our predictions

6:49:196:49:22

for the Euro 2012 final this Sunday.

6:49:226:49:24

GONG

6:49:246:49:25

Spain booked themselves a place in Sunday's final last night

6:49:256:49:29

after this winning goal.

6:49:296:49:31

'Fabregas could do it for Spain.'

6:49:316:49:33

'And does...just!'

6:49:376:49:40

'It's Fabregas and it's Spain to Kiev in the final.'

6:49:416:49:47

-Yes, an excellent finish there, Bobby.

-Certainly, Will.

6:49:476:49:49

But who do we think they're going to face

6:49:496:49:51

out of Germany and Italy in the final? I'm going to go with Germany

6:49:516:49:54

as they've got midfielder Mesut Ozil who's a magician with the ball.

6:49:546:49:58

What, like dynamo?

6:49:586:49:59

Does he do the one where you pull a coin behind someone's ear?

6:49:596:50:02

Like... Ooh!

6:50:026:50:05

He's not an actual magician, Will.

6:50:056:50:08

Oh. Anyway, I disagree with you there.

6:50:086:50:11

I think that Italy will progress.

6:50:116:50:13

Andrea Pirlo could single-handedly take them to the final.

6:50:136:50:16

He looks as old as my dad.

6:50:166:50:18

But it doesn't matter anyway as we both agree

6:50:186:50:20

that Spain will win the tournament.

6:50:206:50:22

And that, our faithful viewers, is the final prediction

6:50:226:50:25

of Bobby And Will's Kick-off.

6:50:256:50:26

We're off for a well-earned rest. See you later, sports fans.

6:50:266:50:30

Thank you very much, Bobby and Will. I kind of agree. I'm backing Spain.

6:50:336:50:36

They are legends. The only two football pundits ever to grow

6:50:366:50:39

different moustaches depending on the make-up artist on the day.

6:50:396:50:42

Now, of course, as Euro 2012 comes to a close,

6:50:426:50:45

so does our trip around its host cities, Poland and Ukraine.

6:50:456:50:48

Now, it's been great to show you the sights, sounds and flavours

6:50:486:50:52

of the two host countries, but for the final leg of our trip,

6:50:526:50:55

I head to Kiev in the Ukraine. While I was there,

6:50:556:50:57

I went to see the stadium in which England crashed out

6:50:576:51:00

of the tournament, but let's not dwell on that.

6:51:006:51:02

let's move on and find out what happened when I went to Kiev.

6:51:026:51:06

On the trip, we've travelled around 1300 miles,

6:51:086:51:11

but I have 500 more to go because I'm going to the host city

6:51:116:51:14

of the Euro 2012 final.

6:51:146:51:17

Kiev is the capital city of Europe's second largest country, Ukraine.

6:51:176:51:22

It's home to around 3 million people and one of its most

6:51:226:51:25

distinctive landmarks is this 62 metre high stainless steel statue

6:51:256:51:29

commemorating those who died in the Second World War.

6:51:296:51:33

This historic city has a stunning skyline that is peppered with gold.

6:51:336:51:37

Check out the roof of St Michael's Cathedral.

6:51:376:51:39

That isn't just the building, it's a piece of art.

6:51:396:51:43

And Kiev is about to become big in the sporting world, too,

6:51:446:51:47

because in a few days' time, it will play host to the final footie match

6:51:476:51:51

for Euro 2012.

6:51:516:51:52

this stadium was completely rebuilt for the Euros

6:51:526:51:55

and it will be the stage for the final

6:51:556:51:57

of the European Championships 2012.

6:51:576:52:00

it is, after all, one of the best football tournaments in the world.

6:52:006:52:03

On this trip, all of our accommodation has been a surprise.

6:52:076:52:10

I need to open my envelope to find out where I'm staying tonight.

6:52:106:52:13

Results. I'm staying in a boat. Thank you.

6:52:136:52:16

I guess for a boat, I need the river, though.

6:52:176:52:19

With the Dnieper River running right through the heart of the city,

6:52:246:52:28

my hotel on a boat is pretty central.

6:52:286:52:31

Wow! Now, when I read boat, my head immediately conjured up

6:52:326:52:35

a picture of a narrow boat, a canal barge type of thing.

6:52:356:52:38

But this...looks grand.

6:52:386:52:41

'It has 200 rooms and was purpose-built

6:52:416:52:44

'as a floating hotel.'

6:52:446:52:45

-Thank you.

-You're welcome.

6:52:456:52:47

Oh, my word.

6:52:476:52:50

This is the most striking view I have ever been met with

6:52:506:52:53

in a hotel room. Look at this.

6:52:536:52:55

I mean, this is unbelievable.

6:52:556:52:58

Gorgeous room, gorgeous view, gorgeous weather -

6:52:596:53:04

which I'm going to make the most of because I have a feeling

6:53:046:53:07

tomorrow could be quite intense.

6:53:076:53:09

There is a place in Ukraine that his world-famous,

6:53:176:53:20

but for all the wrong reasons.

6:53:206:53:22

In Chernobyl, an accident happened in the 1980s

6:53:226:53:25

and it's had worldwide effects.

6:53:256:53:28

Just two hours north of Kiev is Chernobyl,

6:53:296:53:32

a former nuclear power plant.

6:53:326:53:34

It's the site of one of the worst disasters in recent history.

6:53:346:53:38

In 1986, one of the plants four reactors exploded,

6:53:396:53:42

releasing a massive amount of radiation into the air.

6:53:426:53:45

the radiation emitted was 300 times as high

6:53:456:53:48

as that released by the first ever atomic bomb.

6:53:486:53:52

Even though it's over 25 years since the disaster,

6:53:526:53:56

radiation levels are still high and a 30-kilometre-wide no-go area

6:53:566:54:00

exists around the reactor. This is known as the exclusion zone.

6:54:006:54:05

As I pass over its border, I turn on Geiger counter -

6:54:056:54:09

a device that reads the amount of radiation in the air around it.

6:54:096:54:13

In Kiev, it was reading 0.15,

6:54:156:54:18

but this figure is increasing the closer I get to the plant

6:54:186:54:21

and is already more than double what it was.

6:54:216:54:25

Just inside the border of the exclusion zone

6:54:256:54:28

is a monument to the villages, abandoned

6:54:286:54:30

because of the tragedy. I'm meeting with Micha, who was evacuated

6:54:306:54:33

from the area with his family ten years after the disaster.

6:54:336:54:37

How far away from Chernobyl is the village you were born in?

6:54:376:54:40

Approximately some 50 kilometres from here.

6:54:406:54:44

So, 50 kilometres away, nearly a decade after the explosion,

6:54:446:54:48

-people were still being evacuated?

-Yep.

6:54:486:54:52

So these signs are all the names of the villages

6:54:526:54:55

-and places that were evacuated?

-Yep, exactly.

6:54:556:54:58

Why on one side... What does this mean?

6:54:586:55:01

It means that no-one lives there at all.

6:55:016:55:04

It means that the village disappeared from the Earth.

6:55:046:55:07

-So they've literally been crossed out?

-Yep.

6:55:076:55:10

Micha is taking me closer to the reactor and as we get nearer,

6:55:126:55:16

the radiation levels are getting higher.

6:55:166:55:18

Now, this Geiger counter is reading...

6:55:186:55:23

-1.38.

-It's creeping up all the time.

6:55:236:55:25

-Is that because we're getting nearer?

-Yeah, exactly.

6:55:256:55:28

'The radiation is already over nine times as high

6:55:286:55:31

'as the safe levels we saw in Kiev.'

6:55:316:55:33

-So, is that the actual power plant?

-Yeah.

6:55:336:55:36

That doesn't look too solid from here.

6:55:366:55:39

It looks kind of tin and almost rusty.

6:55:396:55:42

There's a lot of cracks on the walls and the roof.

6:55:426:55:44

-So it is possible that it's leaking?

-Yep.

6:55:446:55:49

So, at what point should we look at this and say,

6:55:496:55:52

"That's it, too close."

6:55:526:55:53

-It depends on the time which we spend here.

-OK.

6:55:536:55:56

So if you spend five or ten minutes, it's not so dangerous.

6:55:566:55:59

-Right, shall we go closer?

-Yep.

6:55:596:56:02

While it is safe to go closer, our time here has to be limited.

6:56:036:56:07

The radiation released into the atmosphere on the night

6:56:096:56:12

of the explosion travelled two times around the world.

6:56:126:56:16

It caused an unknown number of serious illnesses

6:56:166:56:19

across Europe and beyond.

6:56:196:56:21

Micha is taking me to a village just north of the reactor

6:56:226:56:25

that was devastated by the events.

6:56:256:56:27

Prypiat was completely abandoned just three days after

6:56:306:56:33

the fire in the reactor broke out.

6:56:336:56:35

Its residents haven't been allowed to return.

6:56:356:56:39

So this was the main square?

6:56:416:56:43

Yeah, it was the main square of the town Prypiat.

6:56:436:56:47

What would these shops have been?

6:56:476:56:49

So here, we had a furniture shop,

6:56:496:56:51

the children's shop, here were flats of people who lived here.

6:56:516:56:56

The people who used to construct the nuclear power plant,

6:56:566:56:59

people who constructed the town, they used to live here.

6:56:596:57:01

This abandoned Ferris wheel is one of the saddest

6:57:026:57:05

and most iconic sights in Prypiat.

6:57:056:57:07

The disaster happened just a few weeks before

6:57:076:57:10

the funfair was set to open

6:57:106:57:12

and it stands today completely unused.

6:57:126:57:15

We can't spend long in Prypiat because the radiation is so high.

6:57:186:57:21

On the way out, the readings on our Geiger counter spike suddenly.

6:57:216:57:25

GEIGER COUNTER TICKS

6:57:256:57:27

Oh, my word, it's jumped straight up to seven, eight, nine, ten.

6:57:286:57:32

'That's over 70 times the safe levels we saw in Kiev.'

6:57:326:57:36

Before it's time to leave the exclusion zone entirely,

6:57:396:57:42

Micha takes me as close to the reactor as is safe.

6:57:426:57:45

There's so much debate around

6:57:476:57:49

how many people were affected.

6:57:496:57:50

I mean, can you say at all how many people

6:57:506:57:53

suffered as a result of the explosion?

6:57:536:57:55

It's quite difficult to tell. According to official data I read...

6:57:556:58:00

So the amount, 237 firefighters who took part in extinguishing the fire,

6:58:006:58:05

38 of them died.

6:58:056:58:07

this monument stands at the foot of the reactor

6:58:086:58:11

to commemorate the bravery of the firefighters.

6:58:116:58:13

In a weird way, I was keen to come here because I was fascinated

6:58:176:58:21

by what I would see and, you know, people have discussed and argued

6:58:216:58:25

about Chernobyl for years and they will do for decades to come,

6:58:256:58:29

but now that I'm here and I can see the scene of a tragedy

6:58:296:58:35

that caused so much suffering around the world,

6:58:356:58:37

I just feel...really uncomfortable

6:58:376:58:43

and I kind of feel like I'm looking at a car crash and I shouldn't be.

6:58:436:58:47

This is telling me that it's time for me to go.

6:58:476:58:51

What was it like being there?

6:58:536:58:55

It's just very, very eerie. You feel like you shouldn't be there.

6:58:556:58:58

If you mentioned Chernobyl to an adult, their eyes were widen

6:58:586:59:01

because so many question marks remain over the long-term effects.

6:59:016:59:04

It was just a very sad episode in that country's history,

6:59:046:59:08

and what an amazing country.

6:59:086:59:10

It really is an amazing country.

6:59:106:59:11

Poland and Ukraine, when we travelled around we did so many things.

6:59:116:59:14

I learnt to Cossack dance, we tried some local delicacies

6:59:146:59:18

and there's a film you haven't seen yet which was... I went to Lviv

6:59:186:59:20

and actually learnt to make chocolate and that's now an exclusive video

6:59:206:59:24

on the website. If you want to check that out it's bbc.co.uk/bluepeter.

6:59:246:59:28

I wasn't rolling my eyes, just as you said Cossack-dancing, I went...

6:59:286:59:32

It's good, it's worth seeing. There are some web exclusives

6:59:326:59:34

so head over to the Blue Peter website.

6:59:346:59:36

-Now, there are 29 days until the Olympics.

-Can you believe it?

6:59:366:59:40

If you've been watching Blue Peter's big Olympic tour at the weekend,

6:59:406:59:43

you'll know that we've been competing in our own challenges.

6:59:436:59:45

On Saturday, Barney and I took on BMXing.

6:59:456:59:48

Each week we take on four celebrities

6:59:486:59:51

in a different Olympic event. BMXing was quite eventful

6:59:516:59:54

so here's a chance to see what happened.

6:59:546:59:56

Your host is Football Focus's Dan Walker.

6:59:566:59:58

Here's a reminder of our line-up.

6:59:597:00:01

First up, multi-talented singer, Laura.

7:00:017:00:04

He's looking the one to beat so far, dancer Brendan.

7:00:057:00:08

She's got bundles of energy, actress Adele.

7:00:097:00:11

He's cool, calm and collected, it's Romeo.

7:00:117:00:15

And still very much in contention, these two, Helen and Barney.

7:00:167:00:20

Athletes, welcome. We have reached event five out of nine

7:00:237:00:26

in the Blue Peter Olympic challenge.

7:00:267:00:28

These beauties are still on offer. The bronze, the silver and the gold.

7:00:287:00:32

Who's pumped for this challenge?

7:00:327:00:33

ALL: Yes! Can't wait.

7:00:337:00:35

We have got, right now, a three-time world champion

7:00:357:00:37

to show you how it's done. It's Dylan on the demo.

7:00:377:00:40

Hit it, big boy!

7:00:407:00:41

There are two tracks here at the National Cycling Centre.

7:00:447:00:47

One for the pros like Dylan, and an easier version for our athletes.

7:00:477:00:51

It's still going to be a big test of nerve, though.

7:00:517:00:53

They've got just one hour to get to grips with the BMX bike

7:00:537:00:56

and the bumpy course.

7:00:567:00:58

And they soon find out this could be their toughest test so far.

7:00:597:01:03

It's just, erm, terrifying.

7:01:047:01:06

If I'm being honest, it's really scary.

7:01:067:01:08

If you go a little bit too fast, it's all over.

7:01:087:01:11

Just one little wobble sends you into a manic panic in your head.

7:01:127:01:16

You're like, "Oh no, this is it, I'm going."

7:01:167:01:18

This is where it all begins for our athletes on the start ramp.

7:01:207:01:23

Fast as you can, legs pumping, and it's when you reach the first hump

7:01:237:01:28

that the tactics kick in.

7:01:287:01:30

You've got to force yourself down the ramps

7:01:307:01:32

to get speed up. You've got to make sure, in terms of pedals,

7:01:327:01:35

they've got to be level when you reach something like this.

7:01:357:01:37

Otherwise, possible game over. So you've got a men's race,

7:01:377:01:40

we've got a women's race, as well,

7:01:407:01:42

and at the end of it all, somebody will be crowned BMX Bandit.

7:01:427:01:45

Here we are, the women's race, Helen on the inside line

7:01:477:01:49

and she could get to the first corner first,

7:01:497:01:52

that would he crucial. Shanaze Reade there.

7:01:527:01:54

A world champion looking on. No pressure there, then.

7:01:547:01:56

And they're off.

7:01:567:01:57

Adele, a terrible start. Helen got off well, though.

7:01:577:02:00

She's keeping that up, although Laura's coming up to tie the lead.

7:02:007:02:03

She struggled on that bump! Helen gets into the first corner first.

7:02:037:02:07

And Adele, where is Adele? Oh, she's struggling very badly.

7:02:077:02:10

Enjoying it, though. She's going for it still.

7:02:107:02:13

Look at the height of the bumps for the leaders. Almost disappeared.

7:02:137:02:16

Helen still maintaining the lead over Laura.

7:02:187:02:21

She's got a good rhythm going. She's into the last few bumps.

7:02:217:02:24

She's going to take it. Good balance.

7:02:247:02:28

Laura in second place. Shanaze looks on clapping.

7:02:287:02:30

Adele, she's still going. She's determined to finish it.

7:02:327:02:36

Well done, Adele.

7:02:367:02:38

And that's what it's all about.

7:02:397:02:41

I feel like that was the first time I really went for it.

7:02:427:02:44

Because someone's on your heels,

7:02:447:02:46

you have to go for it and push it.

7:02:467:02:48

So now it's the men's turn.

7:02:497:02:51

Away they go.

7:02:527:02:53

Barney got a good start, as did Romeo, but all together.

7:02:537:02:56

Brendan's got the early advantage, though.

7:02:567:02:58

He's gone into the first corner in the lead.

7:02:587:03:00

Romeo's keeping track.

7:03:007:03:02

Barney in third at the moment.

7:03:027:03:04

Oh, Barney, where are you going?

7:03:047:03:06

He's tried to go down the wrong track.

7:03:067:03:08

That'll cost him. He was looking good, as well.

7:03:087:03:11

But Brendan's gone into the final corner, he's got a very good lead.

7:03:117:03:15

It's his to lose.

7:03:157:03:17

Excellent technique - look at the balance, look at the confidence.

7:03:177:03:19

He takes it, no problem at all for Brendan.

7:03:197:03:22

Here comes Romeo in second place. And, Barney - what could have been?

7:03:227:03:27

Romeo's shattered in second place. Brendan, dominating again.

7:03:287:03:32

The one race where I thought I had a chance.

7:03:327:03:34

I made a mistake, so I stopped, I had no choice.

7:03:347:03:38

It's a shame there wasn't a bright orange cone

7:03:407:03:42

to tell me where to go, wasn't it? I was so gutted about that.

7:03:427:03:45

I like this about you, though.

7:03:457:03:47

You pretend you're not competitive, and you are.

7:03:477:03:49

I love that you're gutted - you should be!

7:03:497:03:51

I did really well in the run through. My fault, anyway.

7:03:517:03:54

That result means that, for the first time,

7:03:547:03:56

I move into medal contention.

7:03:567:03:59

It's all still to play for.

7:03:597:04:01

You can find out what happens next

7:04:017:04:03

this Saturday morning at 9am on the CBBC channel

7:04:037:04:05

when we go head-to-head in tennis.

7:04:057:04:07

We'll be in West Park in Wolverhampton.

7:04:077:04:09

Come and join us from 10am for the free event.

7:04:097:04:11

Here's what you can look forward to getting involved with.

7:04:117:04:14

We're in town this Saturday from 10am until 4pm

7:04:147:04:17

with Blue Peter's Big Olympic Tour.

7:04:177:04:19

You can try out all kinds of different sports,

7:04:197:04:22

take part in a Horrible Histories stage show,

7:04:227:04:24

and even have a go at being a sports presenter.

7:04:247:04:27

It's a free event and you don't need a ticket,

7:04:287:04:31

so come along, say hello and enjoy the fun.

7:04:317:04:34

So that's a date for your diary, and if you need a new calendar,

7:04:357:04:38

look no further than the Blue Peter website,

7:04:387:04:41

because Barney has been making a photo calendar.

7:04:417:04:43

Every month we've used a different technique to create an image.

7:04:437:04:47

We tried macro photography to start -

7:04:477:04:49

where you make something really small look really big.

7:04:497:04:51

We then tried light painting - one of my favourites,

7:04:517:04:54

where you use a torch to create an image.

7:04:547:04:56

I'm now going to show you perspective photography,

7:04:567:04:58

where you can make something really big look really small,

7:04:587:05:01

and the opposite.

7:05:017:05:03

And, if you practise really hard,

7:05:037:05:05

you should be able to create an effect like this.

7:05:057:05:07

It's working! I'm dangling Helen from my hand.

7:05:077:05:10

Here's more.

7:05:107:05:11

Check out these photos.

7:05:137:05:15

They've been taken using a technique called perspective photography.

7:05:157:05:19

It's a way of forcing your brain

7:05:207:05:22

to make things look different by the use of optical trickery.

7:05:227:05:25

So, how does it work?

7:05:297:05:30

The trick is actually quite simple.

7:05:317:05:33

When an object is close to the lens, it looks really big.

7:05:337:05:36

But, when the object moves further away from the lens,

7:05:367:05:40

it's really small.

7:05:407:05:41

Is that a tiny lion, or a giant camera?

7:05:417:05:44

So, what do you need?

7:05:467:05:48

Well, you need an open space, so I've come to the park.

7:05:487:05:51

This is going to be perfect for what I need.

7:05:517:05:53

Second, you need a camera - you can take this picture

7:05:537:05:56

on absolutely any camera.

7:05:567:05:57

Thirdly, you need a person, a subject

7:05:577:05:59

or an object to take a picture of.

7:05:597:06:01

Today, I'm going to be using Rob and this football.

7:06:017:06:04

Thanks, Rob.

7:06:047:06:05

Finally, you need your imagination.

7:06:057:06:07

The best perspective photography pictures are the original ones,

7:06:077:06:10

so get your thinking caps on, and let's get started.

7:06:107:06:13

OK, Rob, are you ready?

7:06:137:06:15

About 20 metres that way.

7:06:157:06:17

Perfect.

7:06:187:06:20

We're going to try to create the effect

7:06:207:06:22

of Rob kicking a football towards the camera.

7:06:227:06:24

As you can see, Rob is miles away,

7:06:247:06:27

and he's going to strike that famous footballing strike pose.

7:06:277:06:31

When he does that, Natalie's going to throw the ball into the camera,

7:06:317:06:34

and if we time it just right, it'll look like

7:06:347:06:36

Rob's kicked the football from where he is right in front of the lens.

7:06:367:06:40

'Well, that's the theory, anyway. Fingers crossed.'

7:06:407:06:43

Let's try one - one, two, three.

7:06:437:06:45

Oh, it's so close, it's so close!

7:06:467:06:49

There's Rob's footballing pose we're after.

7:06:497:06:51

That one is where the ball ended up.

7:06:517:06:54

This takes lots of time and patience,

7:06:547:06:56

so don't worry if you don't get it right first time.

7:06:567:06:58

Oh, it's so close!

7:06:587:07:00

One, two, three.

7:07:007:07:02

Yes! We've done it, look!

7:07:027:07:04

That's what I'm talking about right there.

7:07:047:07:06

Fantastic. I am so pleased with that photo.

7:07:077:07:11

Perspective photography is a lot better and way more fun

7:07:117:07:14

if you get your friends to help you.

7:07:147:07:16

All right, guys!

7:07:167:07:17

As you can see, I've brought some top photographers

7:07:177:07:20

who've each brought their own camera.

7:07:207:07:22

First up is Molly.

7:07:227:07:23

She's using a flashy tablet with in-built camera.

7:07:237:07:26

Then we've got Mia,

7:07:267:07:27

with an instant camera that prints photos straight away.

7:07:277:07:30

Kaleem has got a sleek, compact, digital camera.

7:07:307:07:33

And Aashir has a low-cost disposable camera that's so retro.

7:07:337:07:38

The guys split into pairs to take their photos

7:07:387:07:40

and they're coming up with ideas thick and fast.

7:07:407:07:43

I've got a dog called Darcy and I want her to be very, very big.

7:07:437:07:47

We can make the ball proper big spinning on our finger.

7:07:477:07:49

Yeah, I'd like that, yeah.

7:07:497:07:50

I brought a balloon and I thought if we blew it up dead big

7:07:507:07:53

it'd look well good.

7:07:537:07:55

Aashir is trying to take a picture of Kaleem showing off his skills

7:07:557:07:58

by spinning a huge football on the end of his finger.

7:07:587:08:01

Kaleem's idea is to squash Aashir under my giant foot.

7:08:017:08:04

How cruel!

7:08:047:08:06

-Face!

-I've just stood on your head.

7:08:067:08:09

Let's see how the girls are getting on.

7:08:097:08:11

Mia's trying to create the effect

7:08:117:08:12

of Molly blowing a huge balloon across the park.

7:08:127:08:16

-Down a bit.

-Have you taken it yet?

7:08:167:08:18

Nearly there.

7:08:187:08:20

Don't move.

7:08:207:08:21

How's that? Oh, that's brilliant.

7:08:217:08:24

Molly wants Mia to make her dog, Darcy, enormous

7:08:247:08:28

and have Mia give her a kiss - ah, that's cute.

7:08:287:08:30

-Now bend down.

-Bend down and give a kiss.

7:08:307:08:33

THEY LAUGH

7:08:337:08:35

That was brilliant, are we happy with our photos?

7:08:367:08:39

-ALL:

-Yeah!

-Fantastic. Aashir, yours is a film camera

7:08:397:08:42

so we have to get those developed,

7:08:427:08:44

then we'll get all the photographs together and choose the best one,

7:08:447:08:47

and that will go into the calendar month of July - sound good?

7:08:477:08:50

-ALL:

-Yeah!

-High-fives.

7:08:507:08:52

Well done, team, I can't wait. Don't leave me hanging.

7:08:527:08:55

And I'm delighted that our team of photographers

7:08:567:08:58

are with us in the studio now. Welcome, team.

7:08:587:09:01

Hello, top pro photographers, good to see you here.

7:09:017:09:03

Kaleem, what do you like about your photograph?

7:09:037:09:06

What I like about my painting... I mean...

7:09:067:09:09

Your photo.

7:09:097:09:10

Yeah, my photo, is that,

7:09:107:09:12

cos it's like you're stepping on Aashir,

7:09:127:09:16

and I like how he's put his face, like, to say

7:09:167:09:20

that you're actually stepping on him.

7:09:207:09:22

It's a good bit of acting, that, Aashir, it really is.

7:09:227:09:25

Cos, the way we've put this together

7:09:257:09:29

is Aashir is going really far back

7:09:297:09:34

and you're near the camera, putting your foot down,

7:09:347:09:37

so it looks like you're stepping on him.

7:09:377:09:41

It's a brilliant photo.

7:09:417:09:42

How about you, Mia? What do you think?

7:09:427:09:45

Well, I made Molly look really small by standing really back,

7:09:457:09:47

and the balloon looks massive,

7:09:477:09:50

so she looks like she's blowing it away.

7:09:507:09:52

I like the way it's been done,

7:09:527:09:55

that she looks dead small and the balloon looks really big.

7:09:557:09:58

They've been really successful, these two photos, Helen.

7:09:587:10:01

Yeah, Molly's is pretty impressive, as well.

7:10:017:10:04

Are you happy with how it's turned out?

7:10:047:10:06

Yeah, I'm really happy, because Darcy was supposed to be

7:10:067:10:09

very, very, very big and Mia's supposed to very, very, very small.

7:10:097:10:13

But Darcy's really close to the camera, and Mia's taken

7:10:137:10:19

loads of steps back and she's bending over and kissing Darcy on her nose.

7:10:197:10:24

It works really, really, really well, Molly, so well done, you.

7:10:247:10:27

Aashir.

7:10:277:10:28

Well, ours wasn't what it turned out to be, because BARNEY...

7:10:287:10:33

What?!

7:10:337:10:35

-You stepped in front of the photo!

-Barney!

7:10:357:10:38

I know, what can I say? If I see a lens, I head for it, sorry.

7:10:387:10:41

It's not really Barney's fault because our camera was digital,

7:10:417:10:45

so you couldn't really see how the photo was going to turn out.

7:10:457:10:50

So you didn't use a digital camera,

7:10:507:10:52

-so you couldn't see instantly how the photo would look?

-No.

7:10:527:10:56

It was disposable, so we had to wait for it to be developed,

7:10:567:10:58

so if you are going to try doing this,

7:10:587:11:00

it's very difficult to use a disposable camera.

7:11:007:11:03

Try using a digital camera, you'll have an easier time with it.

7:11:037:11:05

We were so impressed with all of your photographs,

7:11:057:11:09

that when we were looking and mulling over which one

7:11:097:11:11

to put into the calendar we couldn't decide,

7:11:117:11:13

so we decided to put them all in.

7:11:137:11:16

APPLAUSE

7:11:167:11:17

-Happy about that?

-ALL:

-Yeah.

7:11:177:11:20

-LAUGHTER

-Practically jumping in the air!

7:11:207:11:22

Molly, you asked me four times, I thought you'd be happier!

7:11:227:11:25

She's stunned.

7:11:257:11:27

There's the calendar, there's the picture

7:11:277:11:29

I took with the lovely Rob, and there's yours underneath.

7:11:297:11:32

If you want to download this, you can go to the website -

7:11:327:11:34

bbc.co.uk/bluepeter.

7:11:347:11:35

There's an important date on there, as well - the 27th,

7:11:357:11:38

that's when the Olympics come to town.

7:11:387:11:40

And if you want to e-mail us your perspective photographs, please do -

7:11:407:11:43

[email protected] - We'd love to see them,

7:11:437:11:45

and hopefully we'll show them next week.

7:11:457:11:47

Another date on that calendar is 4th July, American Independence Day.

7:11:477:11:51

It's when Americans have parties and celebrate with fancy food.

7:11:517:11:55

So we sent Stefan Gates to make a milkshake

7:11:557:11:58

that brings all the girls to the yard.

7:11:587:12:00

I couldn't resist it, I'm so sorry!

7:12:007:12:02

Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry -

7:12:037:12:05

just three of your typical milkshake flavours.

7:12:057:12:08

They're all right, but you know me,

7:12:087:12:10

I'm not somebody who likes to stick to the ordinary stuff.

7:12:107:12:13

When it comes to food, I like to shake it up.

7:12:137:12:15

Meet Bella and Zendaya, who play Cece and Rocky

7:12:157:12:18

in the hit Disney dance series, Shake It Up.

7:12:187:12:21

The show follows the adventures of our young starlets

7:12:217:12:24

trying to rise to fame as back-up dancers on a local show.

7:12:247:12:27

-Ladies, welcome to London. BOTH:

-Thank you!

7:12:277:12:29

Brilliant to have you here. We are here with an American classic.

7:12:297:12:32

How important is it to American culture?

7:12:327:12:34

I think it's pretty important, everyone grows up on milkshake.

7:12:347:12:37

It's a childhood favourite, and even now I'm obsessed with ice cream,

7:12:377:12:41

so you can drink your ice cream.

7:12:417:12:43

What's your favourite milkshake?

7:12:437:12:45

I'm starting to lean towards strawberry now,

7:12:457:12:47

so I guess maybe I'm ill?

7:12:477:12:49

-Covering all the major food groups then?

-Yes!

7:12:497:12:51

4th July - also known as Independence Day -

7:12:517:12:54

is the date when United States

7:12:547:12:56

declared its independence from the UK in 1776.

7:12:567:13:00

Or American cousins celebrate by taking a national holiday

7:13:007:13:04

and having loads of fun, parades and, of course, fireworks.

7:13:047:13:07

It's really about being with your family and barbecue...

7:13:077:13:11

And a pool, and just relaxing.

7:13:117:13:12

-It's a chilling day? BOTH:

-Yes.

7:13:127:13:14

I've come up with a few milkshake recipes

7:13:147:13:17

which I think are based on American classic food

7:13:177:13:19

that you don't normally find in a milkshake.

7:13:197:13:22

Would you mind helping me try them out?

7:13:227:13:24

-For sure.

-Yeah, let's do it!

-Let's go.

7:13:247:13:26

Now, these recipes are a little bit experimental.

7:13:267:13:29

They've never been tried before, they might be disgusting,

7:13:297:13:32

but we might discover something fantastic.

7:13:327:13:34

First, I thought we'd make milkshake from apple pie.

7:13:347:13:38

-Apple pie, of course.

-That sounds good.

7:13:387:13:41

First of all, we'll start with some apple sauce.

7:13:417:13:45

Now some biscuits.

7:13:457:13:46

200ml of milk.

7:13:467:13:48

Two to three lumps of ice cream.

7:13:487:13:51

Cinnamon, ginger biscuit.

7:13:517:13:52

It does look really good.

7:13:527:13:55

A little splash of apple juice to add to the appley flavour.

7:13:557:13:57

For the apple, gotcha.

7:13:577:14:00

Give it a whizz.

7:14:007:14:01

One glass.

7:14:047:14:05

It looks good.

7:14:087:14:09

-Artfully, please, artfully.

-Oh, wow!

7:14:127:14:14

It looks good, but what does it taste like?

7:14:147:14:16

Actually good. I like it.

7:14:197:14:20

I didn't know what I first thought of the apple taste,

7:14:207:14:23

but I like it, and then the cinnamon kicks in.

7:14:237:14:25

It adds a little freshness to it. You can taste all the ingredients.

7:14:257:14:28

-First one's a winner?

-Oh, yeah.

7:14:287:14:30

Success! Now let's try something outrageous.

7:14:307:14:33

Hot dog milkshake.

7:14:337:14:35

-Urgh.

-Does that not sound good?

7:14:357:14:37

-No!

-Do you not have a hot dogs in milkshakes in the States?

7:14:377:14:40

-BOTH:

-No!

7:14:407:14:42

Hot dog, crispy onions, plenty of ketchup and mustard...

7:14:427:14:46

White pants - not a good idea.

7:14:467:14:48

..lots of milk and, yes, loads of ice-cream.

7:14:487:14:52
