With over four million views online, The Vamps will be live in the studio

with their new studio. And it is going to be epic, find out how I get

:00:15.:00:25.

on in my Big Bike Challenge. And this week autumn Watch are telling

:00:26.:00:32.

you how to spot animals for sponsorship. That is all live on

:00:33.:00:34.

Blue Peter. Hello. You're watching Blue Peter.

:00:35.:00:52.

It is a live show and we are packed to the rafters, look we have got

:00:53.:01:01.

rafters. And it is about three Ps - pizzas, pumpkins and performances -

:01:02.:01:11.

by the vamps. They will be performing their new single scan we

:01:12.:01:17.

dance. But we -- Can We Dance. If you could have anybody go to a dance

:01:18.:01:22.

with you who would you pick. I would go for Kelly Rowland. It has to be

:01:23.:01:27.

Jessica Ennis. Do you think so? Whatever your answer is, go to the

:01:28.:01:33.

web-site at bbc.co.uk/bluepeter And at the end of the show we will show

:01:34.:01:39.

as many of your comment as we K Around the corner is a

:01:40.:01:44.

as many of your comment as we K prepared for it is Keira, from

:01:45.:01:49.

Kendal. Look at that pumpkin. It is an owl she has carved. That festival

:01:50.:01:59.

is Hallowe'en. Only seven days away. If you need to get inspired to get a

:02:00.:02:06.

pumpkin and start carving, here is your man, Dave fivengle. -- Finkle.

:02:07.:02:12.

We couldn't bring you here without showing the magic you bring to the

:02:13.:02:18.

table and first of all, we should kill the lights to expose that

:02:19.:02:24.

magic. Take a look at that. Barney Harwood in a pumpkin and Lindsey

:02:25.:02:32.

Russell as well. Dave, this a amazing, how did you get involved in

:02:33.:02:37.

carving? About six years ago, we in the village decided to grow pumpkins

:02:38.:02:42.

to raise money for charity. It was that the point we had to carve them

:02:43.:02:47.

and I thought we could do something different. It is amazing. You have

:02:48.:02:56.

some top tips. They involve these lids. We have first, the first tip

:02:57.:03:03.

is bottom. Even go for carving the top of the pumpkin to create a lid.

:03:04.:03:07.

If you carve the bottom out, so you can get in and remove the inside and

:03:08.:03:14.

then you can light your candle and just plonk the pumpkin on top. One

:03:15.:03:18.

thing I find is when I cut around the lid, then the lid falls in after

:03:19.:03:24.

a couple of days. Because it has shrunk. That's right. The next tip

:03:25.:03:31.

is water. Well, if you can carve your pumpkin two or three days in

:03:32.:03:35.

advance and you want to do something more interesting, you can carve it

:03:36.:03:40.

and put it in a bucket of water and it keeps it fresh and hydrated. Then

:03:41.:03:45.

you don't have to do it in one sitting. The best tip is after you

:03:46.:03:50.

have used it on Hallowe'en, you put it back in water, you can reuse it

:03:51.:03:55.

on Bonfire Night. There are a few presenters and you have only got two

:03:56.:04:00.

pumpkins here. You have partly done one of me. But will you be able to

:04:01.:04:08.

finish that by the end of the show? There is a lot of hair to get

:04:09.:04:13.

through. But we will cope. In 2 minutes I will see if you have done

:04:14.:04:19.

the job. They look amazing. It does take him nine hours to do his hair.

:04:20.:04:28.

Last week we asked you to Get Spotted for cheed. -- chor Children

:04:29.:04:34.

in Need. See if you can spot your spot. If you can, thank you for

:04:35.:04:40.

getting in touch. Now we were talking about the spectacular spot

:04:41.:04:45.

show and we said if you're going to design a spot, make sure it is not

:04:46.:04:51.

too small. Isabelle has gone one further. It is like a giant's

:04:52.:04:58.

frisbee. You have been e-mailing as well. I will walk slowly so the

:04:59.:05:04.

camera can follow me. Back here the e-mails that have been sent in.

:05:05.:05:10.

Morgan sent this in. He is a football fan. His sister Bethan has

:05:11.:05:15.

gone for a green spot for the background of Pudsey. And that is a

:05:16.:05:22.

cherry or a heart. But I love it. If we go back to this one, she has

:05:23.:05:29.

spots all over her spots. You have a pizza, a football, there is a ?

:05:30.:05:35.

coin. Is a planet, a heart, a face. The idea for you to send your spots

:05:36.:05:41.

is so you can be part of the spectacular spot show. It is an

:05:42.:05:45.

amazing light show that will light up the home of Blue Peter. If you

:05:46.:05:51.

would like to send yours n Get Spotted at the BBC web-site. Feast

:05:52.:06:02.

your eyes on that spot from Rosy. We will put a spot somewhere on your

:06:03.:06:06.

map. But we can't, because she hasn't told us where she lives. Tell

:06:07.:06:12.

us where you come from. If you make a spot, let us know the town you

:06:13.:06:18.

come from, so we can put it in your just desserts. And we have been

:06:19.:06:23.

showing you loads of other ways to get involved for Children in Need.

:06:24.:06:26.

Last week we showed you thousand make your own spotty -- how to make

:06:27.:06:33.

your own spotty pizzas, that you can sell by the slice to make some

:06:34.:06:42.

dough. We want you to tell as many as people about the Get Spotted

:06:43.:06:49.

campaign. Last week we went on a special nationwide pizza delivery

:06:50.:06:56.

tour. Here is how we got on. There is no time. We have gone to the live

:06:57.:07:03.

show. We have got some spotty pizzas to deliver. We have got 20 seconds.

:07:04.:07:11.

:10:50.:10:57.

are you? What a nice way to start. We have

:10:58.:11:00.

are you? What a nice way to start. day, but we haven't had anything

:11:01.:11:08.

ourselves. So hungry Pizza? No! Such a good day. Thank you to everyone

:11:09.:11:15.

who helped us. If you want to make your own spotty pizza, head to the

:11:16.:11:21.

web-site at bbc.co.uk/bluepeter and go to the pizza bit and the details

:11:22.:11:27.

are there. If cooking isn't your thing, how about getting spotted to

:11:28.:11:33.

spot wildlife. We have linked up autumn Watch and you can go and

:11:34.:11:46.

print off our wildlife part. Here is Michaela Strachan. We are filming

:11:47.:11:50.

deer here for autumn Watch. We want you to spot as many autumn time an

:11:51.:11:55.

mams as you can -- animals as you can. It could be a fun way to raise

:11:56.:11:59.

money for Children in Need. This is my top five creatures to spot in the

:12:00.:12:05.

UK this autumn. At five a noisy bird called a starling. At this time of

:12:06.:12:11.

the year they do something amaze. It is -- amazing. Hundreds and

:12:12.:12:16.

thousands of them fly together in a big flock, swooping and soaring in a

:12:17.:12:22.

huge cloud. Coming in at four, it is deer. This time of the year many

:12:23.:12:26.

deer are rutting. And that is when the males lock antlers and fight for

:12:27.:12:32.

the attention of a female. Keep quiet, keep your distance and keep

:12:33.:12:38.

still, because deer are very skittish. And at 3-2 bird, the red

:12:39.:12:44.

wing and the field fair and they migrate to the UK to feed up on

:12:45.:12:52.

berry ands fruits. At two is the Tawney owl. Owls sleep in the day

:12:53.:12:59.

and are awake at night. Listen for this sound... OWL HOOTS. Foxes, you

:13:00.:13:09.

can see urban foxes in and around towns and cities. So get out there

:13:10.:13:14.

and get spotting. But first, head to the Blue Peter web-site where you

:13:15.:13:16.

can down load your the Blue Peter web-site where you

:13:17.:13:25.

seen. So from us here, good luck and get spotted for Children in Need.

:13:26.:13:31.

Thank you. If you are going to spot wildlife, go somewhere safe and take

:13:32.:13:36.

an adult with you. Now time to tell you about Barney's Big Bike

:13:37.:13:43.

Challenge. Let's try it again. And it is Barney's Big Bike Challenge.

:13:44.:13:50.

So has the hard work, the bumps and the bruises been worth it? Well

:13:51.:13:56.

you're going to find out now in Barney's big bike... What that. We

:13:57.:14:06.

feel weeks of training and it is race day. All our mrepration --

:14:07.:14:12.

preparation will be tested on a 60 mile route that shares the start and

:14:13.:14:18.

finish of the Tour of Britain. The professional race covers 120 miles

:14:19.:14:30.

from Carlisle to Kendal: My route is shorter than the official race as

:14:31.:14:35.

these athletes can go faster and further than me. We have had a head

:14:36.:14:40.

start. But reaching the finish line before them is still an epic

:14:41.:14:50.

challenge. It has become very real. Just like any ride, I know where I

:14:51.:14:55.

am going and what I need to do but for some reason today feels scary.

:14:56.:15:00.

Here we go. Today, I am riding with my team. Jack, Becky, Caroline, Tom,

:15:01.:15:07.

Bill and team leader, Jack. Conditions are good, but Jack is

:15:08.:15:14.

worried about the weather. It is really, really cold. I have gloves.

:15:15.:15:19.

There are not many clouds, so hopefully the rain will hold off,

:15:20.:15:25.

but we have bad forecasts. Before we set off, I get support from an

:15:26.:15:30.

Olympic champion. Just good luck message me and everyone at great and

:15:31.:15:35.

cycling team. You do not need luck. Just get on your bike, pedal hard

:15:36.:15:41.

cycling team. You do not need luck. and no worries. Ed Clancy. What a

:15:42.:15:47.

legend. We know the route. We know our roles. Team Blue Peter is ready.

:15:48.:16:00.

See you later. The weather is still on our side as we loosen our legs on

:16:01.:16:04.

the ride out of Carlisle. The bike feels great. First 20 miles is flat,

:16:05.:16:12.

so we need to pedal fast. We get as much energy as possible on the way

:16:13.:16:13.

out. But then the weather starts to turn.

:16:14.:16:25.

We thought things were going too well. The wind is quite strong but

:16:26.:16:30.

the rain is the problem, I think. I am more nervous about the rain

:16:31.:16:34.

because when it gets wet, the tyres and rakes get wet, and you cannot

:16:35.:16:37.

stop as well, which makes me nervous. But like any professional

:16:38.:16:42.

team, we have a support crew. The coach, medic and easier therapist

:16:43.:16:46.

and bike mechanic, in case of any incident. So far, so good. We have

:16:47.:16:53.

done about 11 miles. We have stopped for a pit stop to have some food.

:16:54.:16:58.

Right on cue, the heavens have opened. It is raining, windy, cold.

:16:59.:17:01.

A great day for a bike ride. As the gathering clouds pelt us with

:17:02.:17:13.

rain and we are buffeted by wind, riding tightly together becomes more

:17:14.:17:22.

important. My knees are hurting We have reached 20 miles, and our

:17:23.:17:29.

Headstart has run out. The Tour of Britain race has begun and my

:17:30.:17:32.

recurring injury has come back to haunt me. 20 miles in, and my knee

:17:33.:17:40.

has gone. We are almost halfway but we are stopping again because I want

:17:41.:17:43.

to talk to the physio about the pain in my knee. My knee is starting to

:17:44.:17:50.

hurt quite a bit. Every time I put pressure on it and get out of the

:17:51.:17:54.

saddle to go up the hill, it is like a stabbing pain, the same as

:17:55.:17:58.

saddle to go up the hill, it is like time. This is where the challenge

:17:59.:17:59.

really begins. That was the warm time. This is where the challenge

:18:00.:18:04.

I am confident he is in a good place for this next section. Even though

:18:05.:18:09.

it is painful, I can go another 30 miles, which is what we are after.

:18:10.:18:17.

It is a very long climb. It is the big one. But I am feeling good. The

:18:18.:18:21.

physio is happy that I can still ride, so we set off to tackle the

:18:22.:18:28.

monster mountain roads. This weather is ridiculous. As you can tell, the

:18:29.:18:35.

rain has got a little bit worse When it rains here, it really rains

:18:36.:18:37.

here. It is not just the weather we have

:18:38.:18:47.

to worry about. Our lead rider is struggling and we have to make an

:18:48.:18:52.

emergency stop. Jack has been sick a few times, so he is going to sit it

:18:53.:18:58.

out and go in the car. But without him and his support, I would not be

:18:59.:19:02.

here today. He has been an incredible inspiration. He is

:19:03.:19:07.

incredibly fit, but unfortunately he is not well today. Get well soon,

:19:08.:19:11.

Jack. I will see you on the other side. Are we set? With Jack

:19:12.:19:18.

recovering, we begin our assent of the biggest test of our cycling

:19:19.:19:19.

route. The highest mountain pass in the

:19:20.:19:30.

Lake District, over 450 metres above sea level, and uphill all the way.

:19:31.:19:35.

Otherwise known as three miles of pain.

:19:36.:19:45.

How strong is that wind? This is the hardest thing I have ever done in my

:19:46.:19:51.

life. Not fast enough, Barney. Come on.

:19:52.:20:06.

You are a dead man, Charlie. I can't believe I have made it to

:20:07.:20:24.

the top still in the saddle, and neither can Charlie. That is the

:20:25.:20:29.

hardest I have ever worked at anything. Amazing. I am so

:20:30.:20:45.

emotional. I can't even speak. You did great. Great job, Barney. We

:20:46.:20:53.

have 45 minutes. I reckon it will be about an hour down from here. We

:20:54.:21:02.

have broken the back of our ride but dropped off the pace of the Tour of

:21:03.:21:06.

Britain. The professionals are gaining on team Blue Peter having

:21:07.:21:10.

ridden 50 miles of their route. If we don't push it, they might eat us

:21:11.:21:15.

to the finish line. When it starts to rain this heavy, I am pulling

:21:16.:21:19.

hard on the brakes and not stopping. It makes riding a bit more

:21:20.:21:24.

interesting! The weather is causing the professionals all sorts of

:21:25.:21:27.

trouble, too. They are slowing down and now have to battle the slopes of

:21:28.:21:33.

the Lake District. But we are on our descent towards Kendal. Less than

:21:34.:21:36.

ten miles to go and we are unstoppable. Quite steep here, guys.

:21:37.:21:46.

We cannot be far away now, can we? On the outskirts of Kendal, we get

:21:47.:21:56.

some energy boosting moral support. Then, as we rejoin the main tour

:21:57.:22:00.

route, it is clear we have made it ahead of the professional race. Team

:22:01.:22:06.

Blue Peter powers to the finish and there is someone special waiting

:22:07.:22:12.

there. My dad. Well done. Proud of you. Fantastic. What a great thing

:22:13.:22:18.

to see on the finish line. Without them I would not have been able to

:22:19.:22:23.

do it. Can I get a cheer for my team? They are amazing. 12 weeks of

:22:24.:22:29.

really hard training. I have fallen off, her myself, and I have scars to

:22:30.:22:31.

prove it. off, her myself, and I have scars to

:22:32.:22:34.

with a team behind you and a off, her myself, and I have scars to

:22:35.:22:42.

succeed, you can do absolutely anything. Get on a bike. It will be

:22:43.:22:50.

the best thing you do. This is my bike, and I'm so glad I did. I got

:22:51.:22:56.

quite emotional. I am not the only one proud of you. Katie from Norwich

:22:57.:23:02.

made you a medal to say well done. Thank you. That is lovely. I have to

:23:03.:23:08.

say thank you to everybody at British cycling, and to Jack and

:23:09.:23:11.

Becky, Caroline, Colin, everyone who got involved. But more importantly,

:23:12.:23:17.

Charlie, my coach, you are a legend. Thank you. Congratulations. Now it

:23:18.:23:25.

is time for the big reveal. Kill the lights.

:23:26.:23:33.

Amazing! Thank you so much for that. I am blown away by that. The

:23:34.:23:44.

Vamps are in the studio. You had better get used to the screaming

:23:45.:23:47.

because you are touring with Taylor Swift. We have only been banned for

:23:48.:23:53.

two years, so it is an incredible opportunity. You are getting more

:23:54.:23:58.

famous by the second. We are going to see why, so get ready for your

:23:59.:24:02.

performance. In the meantime, we can tell you about next week. We are

:24:03.:24:09.

going to be making edible worms Spooky edible worms. Look at those.

:24:10.:24:18.

Horrible! Stop it! And we will be joined by the cast of the

:24:19.:24:22.

award-winning musical Wicked. They will be performing live in the

:24:23.:24:28.

studio. If you want your spot to be used in the Spectacular Spot Show,

:24:29.:24:32.

go to the website and check it out. Now, they are going to perform for

:24:33.:24:36.

us. If you sent us a message to say who you would have as your dancing

:24:37.:24:40.

partner, I am sorry. Watch the bottom of your screen. Now, The
