Today, we're going to be looking at being goalkeepers,

but we're not going to be saving goals,

we'll be clearing the ball away from the goal.

Who knows how we could do that?

Clearing the ball away from the goal

is an important job when you're a goalkeeper.

You need to look where your team-mates are,

and think about the best way to pass them the ball.

There are three ways we can clear the ball away from goal.

We can roll it a short distance, throw it a longer distance,

or we can kick it a really long distance!

-ALL:

-Roll it. Throw it.

And kick it.

Let's go and have a practice!

I've split you into two groups.

When you're in front of the goal, you're the goalie.

You need to roll the ball underarm to the person at the blue cone.

That player traps the ball and everyone moves one place,

and that player becomes the goalie.

-A good roll-out from Grace.

-A quick swap, and Will's in goal!

-Roll it out, like a goalie would.

When clearing a ball from the goal, we can roll it...

throw it...

or we can kick it a long distance!

This time, we're going to kick the ball down the pitch.

We can do this by placing the ball down, taking a couple of steps back

-and kicking it as hard as we can. Like this...

and I wouldn't roll one to Geraldine because she's so far away.

I get it! Rolling, little kicks and super-strong goalie kicks

are all good ways of getting the ball to the team!

First, goalies need to grab a ball

and roll it to stop in front of Geraldine.

Then they throw a ball to land in front of Rozzie.

And finally they kick a ball all the way past Benny.

For each ball that lands in the correct area,

the teams will score one point.

The winners of this game will be the team who score the most points.
