Hi, guys. It's Monday afternoon, I'm Joe, and you're with Newsround. | :00:23. | :00:27.
Here is what's coming up: Why Justin Bieber's UK tour isn't | :00:27. | :00:33.
really a tour of the UK. And what's that racket? Nel meets | :00:33. | :00:37.
the kids hoping to be the next Murray or Watson. | :00:37. | :00:40.
First, let's go straight to Wimbledon. Big day today, because | :00:40. | :00:43.
Andy Murray is playing for a place in the quarter-finals. Ore, what's | :00:43. | :00:53.
:00:53. | :00:55. | ||
happening? I am hanging out with Boris Becker, the legend and three- | :00:55. | :01:00.
time Wimbledon champion. Pleasure to be very intimate with you here | :01:00. | :01:04.
on this green tennis sofa. You have been commentating on some of the | :01:04. | :01:08.
matches this week. And unfortunately, you join us just as | :01:08. | :01:12.
the rain comes down and play is suspended. But against Marin Cilic, | :01:12. | :01:18.
Murray is doing well. He has done very well. He was up when the match | :01:18. | :01:21.
had to be stopped because of the weather. He looked comfortable. I | :01:21. | :01:25.
was worried that he might have ill- effects after his long match on | :01:25. | :01:34.
Saturday night. My alarm has just gone off, sorry! That is OK, you | :01:34. | :01:39.
are an important person. But Marin Cilic had a long match on Saturday | :01:39. | :01:48.
evening as well. Things are looking bright for Murray. And if he can | :01:48. | :01:53.
take in some of his form, he might progress better than he ever has | :01:53. | :01:56.
before. What are his prospects? Everybody has been talking about | :01:57. | :02:01.
the bottom of opening up ever since Rafael Nadal dropped out of the | :02:01. | :02:05.
tournament. That is true, but on the other hand, lots of other | :02:05. | :02:11.
matches still have to be played. Murray's next opponent has to be | :02:11. | :02:17.
determined still. There are lots of ifs and buts and may bes. It is | :02:17. | :02:22.
difficult to see who will make it all the way through the final. | :02:22. | :02:27.
what is it like to win Wimbledon? Good! Very nice, something I will | :02:27. | :02:33.
cherish for the rest of my life. Hopefully, this could be Mr | :02:33. | :02:36.
Murray's yr. Join us later, because I will have another special guest | :02:36. | :02:41.
on the sofa. More from Ore at Wimbledon in a bit. | :02:41. | :02:44.
Let's get the other main stories of the day, starting with the news | :02:44. | :02:47.
that three British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan. They | :02:47. | :02:50.
were part of a group of troops helping to train up Afghan police. | :02:50. | :02:53.
Their families have been told the news. The three men were killed by | :02:53. | :02:57.
one of the local policemen they were working with. He has now been | :02:57. | :03:00.
arrested, and there will be a big investigation into why it happened | :03:00. | :03:03.
to make sure the two sides can trust each other again. | :03:03. | :03:05.
Next, the Deputy Prime Minister has told Newsround that Britain's | :03:05. | :03:08.
bankers are a "source of embarrassment and shame". Nel | :03:08. | :03:11.
quizzed him after one of the top men at Barclay's quit his job when | :03:11. | :03:15.
it came out that the bank had lied about the amount of money it was | :03:15. | :03:17.
making. Earlier, the Prime Minister, David Cameron, announced that there | :03:17. | :03:21.
will be an inquiry into what is happening with the banks. Here is | :03:21. | :03:28.
Nel with Nick Clegg. The banks used to be the jewel in the crown of our | :03:28. | :03:32.
country, and now they are a source of embarrassment and shame. People | :03:32. | :03:35.
need to take responsibility for the things that went wrong. Banks are | :03:36. | :03:41.
important. They make the Money-Go- Round our economy. Without banks, | :03:41. | :03:45.
our economy would be nothing. We need people to take responsibility | :03:45. | :03:49.
when things go wrong, not just get all the big bucks when things go | :03:49. | :03:50.
right. Barclays was fined hundreds of | :03:50. | :03:54.
millions of pounds last week over the scandal. It comes at a time | :03:54. | :03:56.
when the British banking system continues to make the headlines for | :03:56. | :03:59.
all the wrong reasons. British bankers haven't had an easy | :03:59. | :04:03.
few years. They got a lot of the blame when the country started | :04:03. | :04:06.
facing serious money problems in 2008. They were accused of being | :04:06. | :04:10.
greedy and taking too many risks with people's money. But now their | :04:10. | :04:16.
popularity has hit a new low. To buy a house, you go to the bank and | :04:16. | :04:20.
it lends you the money. Banks lend businesses money, too. But banks | :04:20. | :04:23.
also lend money to other banks, and they charge each other different | :04:23. | :04:28.
amounts to do it. It has now come out that between 2005 and 2009, | :04:28. | :04:30.
Barclays lied about those amounts to their customers who had borrowed | :04:30. | :04:34.
cash from them, so they ended up paying more money, which the bank | :04:34. | :04:43.
pocketed. There was a big investigation, and that is why last | :04:43. | :04:47.
week, Barclays was hit by a 290 million fine. Earlier today, one of | :04:47. | :04:49.
Barclays' big bosses, Marcus Agius, said he needed to accept | :04:49. | :04:55.
responsibility for what happened, and stood down from his job. But it | :04:55. | :04:58.
doesn't stop there, and now 20 banks are being investigated to see | :04:58. | :05:02.
whether they are guilty of this, too. Since 2009, banks have made | :05:02. | :05:05.
massive changes to how they work, but some politicians still think it | :05:05. | :05:13.
is very serious and want the police to look into it. | :05:13. | :05:17.
Next, stand by for Bieber Fever in the UK - well, sort of. Justin has | :05:17. | :05:22.
announced a six-day tour. He will perform in cities including London, | :05:22. | :05:25.
Birmingham and Manchester. But fans in Scotland, Wales and Northern | :05:25. | :05:28.
Ireland are in for disappointment after the so-called "UK" tour will | :05:28. | :05:32.
only include English gigs. Tickets go on sale on Friday. Full details | :05:32. | :05:42.
:05:42. | :05:57. | ||
That's your news for the day. Before we sign off, I will hand you | :05:57. | :06:01.
back to Wimbledon for more on the big match from our own ace in the | :06:01. | :06:09.
hole, Ore. You are joining me as the rain has | :06:09. | :06:13.
held off. But play is still suspended on court, which means | :06:13. | :06:17.
Murray will have to wait before he gets back on in his match against | :06:17. | :06:22.
Marin Cilic, which he leads by one set. Murray has been to the finals | :06:22. | :06:26.
-- semi-finals three years in a row. Tim Henman has been getting | :06:26. | :06:32.
involved in a project where thousands of kids get to try out | :06:32. | :06:42.
:06:42. | :06:43. | ||
tennis every year. Not bad. These kids are from the | :06:43. | :06:47.
Wimbledon junior tennis initiative, set up in 2001 to find the next big | :06:47. | :06:53.
tennis star. So far, it has given over 125,000 kids from the local | :06:53. | :06:57.
area a chance to experience the sport. Every year, they come here | :06:57. | :07:01.
to Wimbledon to entertain the crowds. After each visit to a | :07:01. | :07:04.
school, some of the most promising kids are offered training at | :07:04. | :07:10.
Wimbledon every weekend until they are 16. How has the Wimbledon | :07:10. | :07:13.
junior tennis initiative helped you? It has helped me make new | :07:13. | :07:18.
friends. I had never played tennis before. What does it feel like to | :07:18. | :07:23.
be at Wimbledon, playing with these people? It is an amazing experience. | :07:23. | :07:27.
Someone who is a supporter of the training is former British tennis | :07:27. | :07:32.
player and Wimbledon semi-finalist Tim Henman. In schools, Dennis is | :07:32. | :07:36.
not played as much as we would like. It is played if your PE teacher | :07:36. | :07:40.
likes up tennis. We have to make sure there is a connection between | :07:40. | :07:45.
the schools and clubs in local areas so that if kids like the game, | :07:45. | :07:51.
they can play. Until now, 2500 children have received scholarships | :07:51. | :07:54.
for free tennis sessions at the All-England Club. I am going to see | :07:54. | :08:04.
:08:04. | :08:10. | ||
Thank you! It does not look like I will be gracing centre got any time | :08:10. | :08:14.
soon, but who knows? One day, some of these kids could be playing | :08:14. | :08:18.
there. If you guys were watching Newsround | :08:18. | :08:22.
over the weekend, you will know that the big news was the fact that | :08:23. | :08:27.
Rufus the Hawke went missing. He is here with Imogen now. What a | :08:27. | :08:33.
traumatic weekend for you! really was. We were all completely | :08:33. | :08:38.
shocked and upset. We are so glad it had a happy ending and we have | :08:38. | :08:42.
him back. We were overwhelmed by the lovely things people said. | :08:42. | :08:48.
he OK? Has he been working? today. He will be back tomorrow. He | :08:48. | :08:53. |
