Good afternoon. This is Newsround. I'm Hayley, he's Joe and we've got

about seven minutes to tell you everything you need to know. So

here goes. Coming up, find out why you might

not want this sandwich. And we get down with Rizzle Kicks.

Today, John Terry has been sacked as the England Captain again. The

Football Association don't think it's right for him to be Captain

for the Euro 2012 finals while awaiting trial for accusations of

using racist language to another player.

John Terry, he's won dozens of trophies for Chelsea, played for

his country more than 70 times and earlier this season led England

through to the qualifiers of euro 20 12. But thanks to this incident,

he won't be Captain for the rest of the competition because Terry is

accused of making racially abusive remarks to QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

He says he's not guilty but until his trial in the courts is over,

the people who run football have decided he cannot be Captain.

The key thing here, and I think this is why the FA have acted, if

he remained as Captain, every single media event would have been

dominated by this situation, all the questions would have been about

this, so it would have been a big distraction. The other thing is

that there are black players in the dressing room and many have made

their feelings clear that they are not happy about this, they don't

feel right, they didn't think the message was right so there could

have been issues in the dressing room. It's not the first time he's

handed back the arm band. Two years ago he stepped down when he was

involved in a personal dispute with another player, Wayne Bridge. It's

now up to manager Fabio Capello, to decide whether Terry should play in

the tournament at all. Now we've been asking you guys

whether you think John Terry should be allowed to play for England

before his trial and we've had Joining us now is sports presenter

Dan Walker. Hi. Hi. Do you think the Terry situation is affecting

the England team? I would say yes, if they went to Euro 2012 and he

was Captain, I think people described it as potentially a toxic

situation. You heard Matt say there are some black players in the

dressing room and it's a decision they had to make. The England

Captain is a significant role, it does carry great weight and he will

be very important, he's the mouth piece of the team as well, the one

who stands up in the press conferences and, to have him as

Captain for that tournament with all that's going on and the court

case to be heard after the tournament, I don't think that's a

situation the FA could have themselves in.

Big decisions for Fabio Capello. Who do you think will be the next

Captain? Most people are saying today there's three candidates.

Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand. I spoke Tori owe

Ferdinand and he doesn't want it. He's an interesting one, it's not

just a football issue it's a family issue for him as well because his

brother is the guy at the centre of the allegations of racial language

being used. So he spoke at length about how it's affected the family

and Anton particularly. He's spoken about racism in football in general

and I think most footballers would look at this situation and say the

right decision has been made, just if at the very least to take John

Terry out of the firing line, yes. So we can see that interview and

more tomorrow? Yes, football focus at 12.15 on BBC One.

Government has resigned from his job because he's been accused of

telling lies to the police. It's claimed in 2003, the MP Chris

Huhne was caught speeding in his car on camera, his wife accepted

the penalty points on her licence. He and his ex-wife deny wrongdoing.

We have been told to expect snow over the weekend but it's a lot

worse in Europe where the big freeze is claim -- has claimed more

than 130 lives. Remote villagers have been cut off in Serbia and had

to be rescued by snow mobile or helicopter. Pet owners are warned

to keep pets away from anti-freeze and grit salt which can be

weird. We managed to make friends with a couple of footballers which

is like a crazy thing for me. Daniel Sturridge keeps in touch

Sheeran, Professor Green. Olly Murs. Right, now to a guy who's taken

savvy saving to the extreme. This retired chemist from Germany said

he decided to turn a tin of lard that was saved for 64 years and it

was still edible. Turns out it was pretty gross but he ate it. I'll
