Hello. This is your final Newsround of the day. In Ukraine, in the last | :00:10. | :00:16.
two hours, there have been reports from the military in the country | :00:17. | :00:19.
that Russian troops have attacked Ukrainian forces in Crimea -- will | :00:20. | :00:26.
attack them at 3am, unless they surrender. The UK Government says it | :00:27. | :00:34.
will not be sending any soldiers to fight, but the Prime Minister has | :00:35. | :00:37.
warned both countries that something needs to be done. | :00:38. | :00:42.
What matters now is that a very clear message is sent from across | :00:43. | :00:45.
the world to the people of the Ukraine, that we will not allow you | :00:46. | :00:51.
to choose your own future, and an equally clear message to the Russian | :00:52. | :00:55.
government, that continuing down this path of violating the | :00:56. | :00:58.
sovereignty of another country will have costs and consequences. Next, | :00:59. | :01:04.
wildlife experts say that the natural habitat of these little | :01:05. | :01:08.
fellas is under threat. Noting icecaps are being blamed, and in a | :01:09. | :01:12.
bid to raise awareness, these very important Penguins have made the | :01:13. | :01:20.
journey from America to Hull. Nel has been finding out why. We all | :01:21. | :01:24.
know that Penguins cannot fly. That is until now. These gentoo penguins | :01:25. | :01:29.
have been clocking up the air miles along this plane. They have | :01:30. | :01:33.
travelled from Texas in the United States and landed thousands of miles | :01:34. | :01:39.
away, here in the UK, before being transported to this aquarium in | :01:40. | :01:45.
Hull, their spectacular new home. Gentoo penguins live in the southern | :01:46. | :01:49.
hemisphere, around Antarctica, and the islands of South Georgia. But | :01:50. | :01:53.
these guys were born in captivity. What was the journey like? They | :01:54. | :01:58.
travel as a group of five, in one transport container, and they were | :01:59. | :02:04.
loaded into a refrigerated lorry. The plane was then temperatures | :02:05. | :02:08.
controlled for them, which kept them nice and cool. Their new home is | :02:09. | :02:12.
spread over three levels, complete with diving pool, beach and nesting | :02:13. | :02:18.
area. At the moment there is a strict quarantine in place to stop | :02:19. | :02:22.
the spread of disease. So, this is as close as I can get. Why is it | :02:23. | :02:27.
important to move animals like penguins around the world? By making | :02:28. | :02:31.
moves like this, we are able to move the genetics around, so that they | :02:32. | :02:38.
stay healthy. We have to care about the animals out in the wild, so that | :02:39. | :02:44.
we can protect those populations, so that our grandchildren and our | :02:45. | :02:46.
grandchildren's grandchildren will get to see them. For these | :02:47. | :02:50.
particular Penguins, their long journey may be over, but their lives | :02:51. | :02:53.
have only just begun. That is it from me today. Head over to the | :02:54. | :02:58.
website to find out why Prince William had to get the | :02:59. | :03:00. |
