Hello there. Remember, remember, the 5th November. It's Bonfire

Night, and you are watching Newsround! You are live and it's

just after 5. I'm Nel, he's Joe and this is what we have on the show

tonight. America gets ready to vote for a

new President. It's 60 years since the start of the singles chart and

we play some golden oldies. I don't like it.

And it's the coldest Bonfire Night First, there are just a few hours

left until millions of people vote for who they want to lead one of

the world's most powerful nations, America. The candidates, braifrpl

from the Democrats and Republican Mitt Romney have been flying all

over to convince people to vote for them -- Barack Obama from the

Democrats and Mitt Romney. They've been trying to convince America for

weeks that they are the best person for the job. It's a close race and

in national surveys of how people plan to vote, they are neck and

neck. In some of the States where it really matters, the swing states,

Obama is slightly ahead. Swing states are the ones in yellow,

they're important because people living there don't always vote the

same way so that means their votes could decide who wins. President

Obama and Mitt Romney are tied or within a couple of points that we

have seen so far. We have a handful of swing states where it could go

either way, like Florida, Virginia, Ohio. We don't know what's going to

happen. They've been travelling all over the country, and with only one

day to go they are not slowing down, travelling to seven states between

them. Where they can't physically be adverts on TV have been key to

their campaigns. 300,000 ads were broadcast last month. If you are

thinking this sounds very expensive. You are right. More than �1.5

billion will be spent during the election. It's exhausting with both

candidates hardly sleeping. Barack Obama even sounded like he was

losing his voice on Sunday. Make some phone calls for me. Turn out

for me. We'll win Ohio. In a few hours' time, campaigning will be

over and the Americans will get their say on who they want to be

their next President. Ricky will have a Special Report on

the elections from America here at this time tomorrow. He's been in

the US since last week. You can read his blog about how he's been

getting on on the Newsround website. America is not the only country

waiting to see who its new President will be this week. In

China, a meeting is taking place where the Nkunda tri's new leader

will be announced -- the country's new leader will be announced. China,

it's the world's second richest country. Being in charge here is a

big deal. On Thursday, they'll find out who their new President is, as

well as the other top politicians who'll help run the country for the

next ten years. Unlike America and Britain, people

in heroin don't get to vote for who they want in charge. -- -- people

in China. It's a huge organisation with more than 80 million members.

Many people expect this man, the current Vice-President, to be

announce as the new President on Thursday.

More people live in China than any other country. For every British

person, there are 20 Chinese people. China also had a lot of factories,

the toys you bought or own were probably made in China. So with all

these people and all these factories, China's become a more

and more important place and in the future, it could be as powerful as

the United States of America. So one of the big issue force

China's next President - during his ten years in power, the last

President helped make China four times richer. There's still a big

gap in the country between rich and poor. It's not fair. I've been to

the cities. They're rich. They eat in fancy restaurants every day. My

life doesn't compare. Many people also want to see China

become a fairer place. This woman wants her five-year-old son to go

to a good school. In order to make sure he has a place, she has to pay

bribes to local officials. Heroin is changing really quickly and

whoever the new President is, they'll have to work hard to keep

the country's people happy. Thank you Ore. Joe, remember a time

when music was played on something like that? You can play music on

those?! I don't remember that at all! Really... 60 years ago is when

the music charts began. Dub Step and hip-hop didn't exist and garage

was where you puts your bike. Have our tastes change? I went to find

out. If I was to say superhit single,

what would usually come to mind. Maybe a bit of this.

school to see what some of these make of the best-selling singles.

Older kind of people would listen to it, not people nowadays. These

guys weren't too impressed but who knows what the guys will think

about our number one hits. Hard to please those kids.

I loved all of those tracks! Keep 'em coming. If you are heading out

tonight to watch the fireworks, wrap up warm. Forecasters say it's

one of the coldest nights on Bonfire Night for years.

Leah is braving the weather in Yorkshire. How's it all going?

Joe and everyone else, welcome to Wentworth Castle in south York. If

you are heading here tonight, you are in for a big treat -- South

Yorkshire. We have a huge bonfire. It tack two days to make this. In

the distance is a Guy Fawkes sitting pretty at the top. Guy

Fawkes was actually born in York. Festivities kick off at 6.30, but a

warning, it's going to be cold. Temperatures maximum between six

and nine, that's a few degrees lower than what we are used to.

Some are saying that actually it will be one of the coldest Bonfire

Nights on record. A lot of events were called off

over the weekend because of the rain. Tonight, the skies are clear

so it should mean good visibility for when we have a glittering

display in the sky above us. I was heading to a display in Newham in

East London which was called off, so tonight we should be in for a

good time, wrap up warm, enjoy and I'm going to head out and enjoy the
