We've got a jam- packed show for you, including: Some very big X

Factor news about a certain Mr Simon Cowell.

And rugby, as you've probably never seen it before. This is Newsround.

First, news from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, where five gold medals are

up for grabs today. Sadly, Britain's snowboarders, Jamie Nicholls and

Billy Morgan, both missed out on medals in the first ever snowboard

slopestyle final. Nicholls, from Yorkshire, had been in second place

after his first run, but he slipped down the field after a disappointing

second run where he clipped a railing. He ended up in sixth place.

Morgan fell on both of his runs to finish 10th. The gold medal went to

the USA's Sage Kotsenburg. More news on the storms now and

people living in the flood-hit areas of southern England are bracing

themselves for even more rain. Farmers are working really hard to

keep their animals safe and fed. You can see here just how much water

there is. More than 5,000 homes have been flooded since the bad weather

started in December. The Government has promised ?15 million to protect

people and their property. Now to the X Factor. Simon Cowell

has confirmed he's coming back to judge on this year's show. The

superstar judge left in 2010, but is set to make a return this autumn.

He is one of the most feared judges TV history. Known for being mean to

additional needs. Under his rule, The X Factor became the biggest show

on British TV. In 2010 he left and ratings have suffered.

Simon Cowell's company owns the X Factor and it has not been doing so

well. Three years ago when he was last on the show, it got its highest

ever ratings, 14 million people. Since then they have fallen every

year. Last year they were below ten million and we must change that.

Things have not gone well in America after.

The X Factor programme on Fox channel in America has not proven a

success. So Simon is coming back but we do not know who the other judges

will be. Rita Ora has been suggested. They're tried to give it

a younger feel amongst its audience members.

Will Simon Cowell take the X Factor back to the top of the charts?

He is going to be the head judge and is replacing Garry Barlow who left

at the end of last CDs. The first seven years when he was there and

being nasty, it's got great ratings. When he left the felt.

And Simon Cowell's not the only master of the talent show - this

guy, Joe McElderry, beat thousands to win the X Factor in 2009 and now

he's become king of the slopes after winning Channel 4's winter sports

show, The Jump. We sent Ayshah to find out what it's like hurtling

down the slopes at super-fast speeds when you're not a Winter Olympic

sports star. Hi Joe McElderry, thank you so much

for speaking to Newsround. Well done on your victory. Did you think you

were going to win? I was having a nature lacks an apology -- nice,

relaxing holiday but then people were getting injured. I never

thought I could win it. I was trying to relax on the slopes. The jump I

had to do was not relaxing! The skeleton was my most difficult

event. I was minutes away from the top of the skeleton run and thinking

I could not do it. I was very scared and shaking. I could not speak. I

got up at the end and people ask me how it was. It is like being on a

tree -- a dinner tray with little rails on it and you are not far from

the ground. If you can imagine going down and I track at 70 mph and all

that is keeping you on that dinner tray are your arms, it is not a

natural thing, horrible. Now you will have a different view of the

Sochi Olympics. What events are you looking forward to viewing? I take

my hat off to them. I realise the training now that these Olympians

have to go through and the dedication and skill required. We

only did about 10% of what they have to learn. I have such admiration for

those sports people. It's the second weekend of the Six

Nations where Ireland will host defending champions Wales at 2:30pm

today. Both teams won their opening matches. At 5pm, Scotland take on

England at Murrayfield. Both sides lost last weekend.

While we're in a rugby mood, here's a little look at an alternative

version of the sport. This is underwater rugby. The sport started

in Germany about 50 years ago and it's growing in popularity. Now 19

nations take part in the World Cup. It's even taken off in the UK, with

the first club having just opened in London. Without the crunching

tackles and injuries, this rugby looks a bit kinder!
