across South Africa on a national day of prayer and reflection for the

country's former leader, Nelson Mandela. In public spaces and in

churches, people all over the country have been remembering the

life and achievements of their first black president, who died on

Thursday, aged 95. Meanwhile a sea of flowers continues to grow outside

Mr Mandela's home as people come to pay their respects. World leaders,

including US president Barack Obama, will attend a huge national memorial

service in the giant football stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

At a church service this morning, the current president Jacob Zuma

urged South Africans not to forget the values Mr Mandela stood for. He

preached and believed in peace, that we should live in peace. He believed

in forgiving and he forgave. Even those who kept him in jail for 27

the world. To the Philippines in South East Asia now. And one month

on after Typhoon Haiyan struck, the country there's signs people are

slowly recovering. In the city of Tacloban, one of the worst affected

areas, people have been clearing up the debris and opening up shops. But

many people here are still homeless. The BBC's Jon Donnison has been to

see how people there have been trying to clean up their city. One

month on there is still a daunting massive amount of work to be done.

But people are doing it. The aid agencies now are operating these

mass cash for work programmes, paying people a few dollars a day to

get out on the streets and start, push on, press on with the clean up.

But most of these people here will have lost their homes, they're still

living in temporary shelter. But the aim is to build up some sort of

self-sufficienty and give people money to rebuild their lives. Prince

Harry will no longer race to the South Pole, because the people in

charge of the expedition are worried about safety. Harry is trekking

across Antarctica with a team of injured British service men and

women and they had been racing against other groups from the US and

Croatia. But the charity Walking with the Wounded - who the prince is

raising money for - decided conditions are too harsh to to

compete so, they will now continue as one big group. They set off on

the last 70-mile leg to the South Pole itself today. And sticking with

chilly places, wintry weather is causing chaos in large parts of

America, where a huge ice storm has hit several states. Thousands of

people there have been left with no electricity. Roads are really

dangerous, because they're covered in frozen snow. Earlier this week,

Martin put the fastest man on two wheels to the test in a special

Newsround challenge. But today it's your turn to put him on the spot as

Mark Cavendish answers your questions. Mark, we have got our

viewers to send in questions. How much work does it take to be the

best and what is your favourite part, from Leo? It takes a lot of

work to be the best at anything you do. You have to put everything you

can into it. You have to have some natural talent. The thing that is

nicest from that is winning. Maggie says, how did you feel when you got

the MBE? I was on houred -- on noured -- honoured. It was nice to

meet the Queen and I had a chat. It was just before the Olympics, I

said, we will be finishing by your house. Emily says hello Mark, at my

cycling club, we call you cannon ball calve, what do you think of

that? That is what the Italians call me. I have been winning for a few

years, I was more of a household name in Italy before people knew me

in the UK. That was my nick name in Italy. What has been your favourite

victory? It was probably the world road race Championship. The road

race is very hard to win and I did that in 2011. Tom said, I have got a

new bike that is so fast, when did you get your first bike? I remember

my first bike when I was three, it was a girl's bike, a little red

girl's bike and I learned to ride on that. I can remember me dad staking

the ablise -- stabilisers off and then learning to ride. And then I

got a black mongoose BMX and I was off from then on. Now we all love a

bit of Doctor Who, but how about Dr Loo? One family in Devon are such

big fans of the programme they turned their bathroom into a TARDIS.
