Good afternoon, everybody - Ore here. You're watching Newsround,

and we've got everything you need to know including - one family's

incredible bush fire escape in Australia. And the couple that

crashed their own wedding in a hot air balloon! First to Australia,

where incredible survival stories are starting to emerge from the

wildfires that have been raging there. Fire crews have welcomed a

big drop in weather temperature, as they continue to battle bushfires

across the south east of the country. Weather experts have now

confirmed that yesterday was Australia's hottest day on record,

with Monday the second hottest. No- one's been killed by the fires,

although many people have had to flee their homes. Here one family

in the state of Tazmania tell the frightening story of their amazing

escape. As flames swept across the state of Tasmania, five children

and their grandparents found themselves trapped by the

uncontrollable blaze. We saw tornadoes of fire coming across

towards us. It came from both directions. It came at us and then

from the side. With no escape, the family were left with little choice

but to jump into a river for safety, even though three of the children

aren't able to swim. Even though there was hot ash all over us, it

was still cold. We were all just water up to our chins just trying

to breath because the atmosphere was so toxic. When the blaze was

finally under control the children were pulled to safety and reunited

with their mum and dad. Just to set your minds at ease, the whole

family escaped safely. Now, the huge heatwave that has gripped

south east Australia has cooled a bit in the last day, making

firefighters' jobs slightly easier. But over 130 fires are still

burning across New South Wales and the temperatures are set to rise

well above 40 degrees at the weekend. We'll have more on the

It's the biggest event in the British film year, and now the

nominations for the BAFTAs have been announced. There are lots of

different categories with awards including best film, best animation

and best British film up for grabs. There's a bit of a horror theme in

the animated film category, with Frankenweenie and Paranorman both

up for the prize, as well as Pixar's Brave. Ricky asked BBC

entertainment reporter Colin Paterson which of the three films

he thinks will win. It depends. If kids were voting, I

think brave would win. It may be frank and Winnie. Maybe not the

Happy Birthday, the Tube! It's 150 years today since the world's first

underground train journey took place in London back in 1863.

Here's how it looked years ago. Quick couple of Tube facts - it's

thought half a million mice live in the tunnels, and there's a

completely unique species of mosquito down there too. To

celebrate the Tube's birthday, a series of stamps and special coins

have been released. And you can see those in a gallery over on our

website right now. Now, is there a more romantic way to get married

that on board a hot air balloon? Well, when the ceremony of your

dreams ends like this, there probably is.This is the moment that

a balloon in America crash landed after a couple got married on board.
