banned for kids? A devastating flood sweeping away everything in its

path.s this Newsround. -- path. This is Newsround. First to the big calls

to ban you from being able to buy energy drinks. A top professor says

the amount of caffeine in certain drinks is too much for young people

and could be affecting your body and brain more than you realise.

Professor Mike Lean says much stricter rules are needed. Children

going to buy alcohol is forbidden because it's banned for them and

they're not permitted to drink it. Perhaps the same approach should be

used for highly calf nated drinks. Here are the facts - they typically

contain around 80 milligrammes of caffeine in a 250 millimetre can.

That is three cans of coke. A lot of the new drinks come in 500

millimetres. The British Soft Drinks Association say the official advice

is they should not be sold to children. I've been chatting to some

school kids to mind out what they think. How do you feel when you

drink them? You feel more awake, so you drink them in the morning.

have them once or twice or three times a week? Three. I know it's bad

for you. It makes your heart do all sorts, but I ignore it because it

don't make a difference to me. would you feel if grown-ups told you

you're not allowed to drink them? wouldn't be happy about it, but

there's always others drinks we can have. Next, to China, where the

country's coming to terms with the worst flooding in 50 years. So far,

40 people are believed to have been killed and thousands more left

homeless. This was the moment an entire factory was swept away.

Demolished by some of the most powerful floodwaters China's ever

witnessed. Here a road bridge near Jiangyou City was zrieed.

Devastation caused by several days of rain battering the province in

the south-west of the country. This is the rainy season and the rescue

teams were prepared for flooding. But this was beyond what anybody

expected. 40 are feared dead. Tens of thousands of others forced to

leave their homes as buildings are sucked into the muddy waters or

destroyed by landslides. Many are still missing, with more rain set to

fall over the coming days. There is no sign yet of the devastating flow

stopping any time soon. Next, cricket fans were hoping for

the glorious summer of British sporting success to continue today,

but the first day of Ashes action hasn't gone to plan. England captain

Alastair Cook was out for 13 and star batsman, Kevin Pietersen for

14. England have only scored 201, with sex men already out and the

Aussies are yet to bat. There's more on what the Ashes are all about

their friend. We keep on seeing people struggling with their

swimming hats. The swim crown is designed to tackle a classic

poolside problem. If you've got long hair then putting on a cap can take

quite a while. She tries to put on the hat with our invention. Using

the simple metal ring, it solves the problem.

APPLAUSE 12 million people are regular

swimmers in the UK, so there are a lot of people who need the swimming

crown. This invention will help so many people.

congratulations again. Very strong presentation. I have to say this one

really caught my eye. I've got a little boy who loves swimming and

when he was younger he had really curly, long hair and it was a

nightmare putting that on. I can really see the benefits of that. Fan

taste tick and -- fantastic and clever idea. I was thinking about

blokes and rock stars with long hair, so in that respect I was

wondering if maybe we could get a rock star to try it out. I'll tuck
