Hi, I'm Leah with your morning Newsround. On today's show...

I am at the Olympic Park with exciting news.

A kayaker's near-miss with a 20-tonne whale.

And you don't want to miss these jaw dropping pics of a BMX stunt. OK

first up, who can forget the amazing sporting summer of 2012? When Team

GB took the London Olympic and Paralympic Games by storm? 185

medals were won in total. But have you ever wondered what it would be

like to follow in the footsteps of one of your sporting heroes? Well,

whether you dream of winning gold in the pool, like Ellie Simmonds. Or

flying round the Velodrome like Sir Chris Hoy. Ayshah has some exciting

news for us from the Olympic Park in London.

Thanks, Leah. Yes, I am at the Olympic Park, and it is fantastic.

It has been announced it will be open to the public from April five.

That means that you and I will be able to take a plunge in to the very

same diving pool that Tom Daley won his bronze. Or we can go to develop

Rome and check out there. Joining me now is Dennis Hone, one of the men

in charge of making sure the London Games leaves a sporting legacy.

Thank you for joining as. What will we be able to see when the park is

open? You can go to the Aquatic Centre, go up the orbit for

panoramic views, adventure playgrounds, cafes, fountains, a

great setting and destination. Fantastic, but how much will it

cost? Adults can swim in the main swimming pool for less than ?5,

children even cheaper, and go up the orbit for ?15 for an adult,

reasonably priced, we want people to come here. Who do you want to come?

From the surrounding community, all around the UK, we want to make it a

major destination. Sounds amazing, thanks! April the 1st is in my

diary, giving me time to check out my diving skills.

Thank you. -- April the 5th. Next, people in Egypt have begun the

second day of voting over a new set of rules on how the country is run.

There's been a huge security operation, with hundreds of

thousands of soldiers and police officers out on the streets. It's

been mostly peaceful. But there have been some violent clashes at polling

stations between security forces and supporters of the former President

Mohammed Morsi. He was forced out of power by the army last July.

Over in Australia, people there are sweltering under a heatwave. In some

areas, temperatures are hitting 40 degrees Celsius. Lightning strikes

sparked more than 250 fires across the southeast last night. There's

several bushfire warnings in place. There's now a fire ban across the

state of Victoria. The scorching conditions are set to continue and

most people are trying their best to keep cool in the heat.

But British tennis player Ross Hutchins hasn't let the heat get to

him. Best mates with Andy Murray, Ross has had a year out of the game

having treatment for a form of cancer. But he was back on court in

Australia overnight, with his doubles partner Colin Fleming. And

it's a winning comeback as they fought their way to the second round

at the Australian Open, coming back from a set down.

I don't want people to feel sorry for me, I want to be treated as a

player who has as much chance to win or lose, being ruthless out there,

become a better competitor and win matches on our own, not having

people take pity on us, which will lay the don't, and we can beat them

on our own merits. If you're out kayaking in the sea,

then the last thing you'd want to meet would be a 20-tonne whale. But

take a look at what happened to a kayaker in Norway last week. A

humpback whale came up for air right next to his kayak! He said he didn't

realise he was sitting on the whale's back, and didn't have time

to be afraid. Luckily, the big mammal happily swam off after the

close encounter. Now can you guess what this BMX'er is going to do

next? These jaw-dropping pictures show stunt rider Mat Olson cycling

along the top of a bridge in Texas in America. He rode across the six

arches stunning people watching below. It goes without saying, guys.
