Hi, I'm Martin and this is Newsround.

:00:10.:00:12.

First up, a film crew and some tourists have been injured

:00:13.:00:14.

after a volcano on the Italian island of Sicily erupted.

:00:15.:00:18.

A BBC reporter who was there has described how they had to run away

:00:19.:00:22.

from the edge of Mount Etna after an explosion threw rocks,

:00:23.:00:26.

Some people have been hurt, but luckily there were

:00:27.:00:30.

Today is the day when you lot get to take over.

:00:31.:00:36.

Yes, it's the 11th School Report News Day.

:00:37.:00:38.

Around 30,000 11 to 16-year-olds across the UK have been reporting

:00:39.:00:42.

Those guys got to read the BBC's sports news.

:00:43.:00:55.

Ricky caught up with Junior, who has been telling him his story.

:00:56.:00:57.

What was your story that you wanted to tell BBC School Report?

:00:58.:01:03.

Can you tell us what happened to you?

:01:04.:01:06.

I was bullied because of my dancing and how much I loved dancing.

:01:07.:01:09.

They couldn't accept that I liked dancing because they thought

:01:10.:01:12.

That must have been really difficult.

:01:13.:01:14.

I know things are a lot better now, but how did you get

:01:15.:01:17.

My mum had a lot of support for me and we moved house

:01:18.:01:21.

Things are a lot better now because, get this, Junior has danced

:01:22.:01:26.

I had to audition, so I had to send off the routine.

:01:27.:01:35.

But it turns out these guys have a very big appetite.

:01:36.:01:51.

And actually it's doing us all a favour.

:01:52.:01:53.

Eggs. These creepy Crawley beasts are many people's top phobia. But

:01:54.:02:06.

maybe they should be known as our eight legged friends. -- arachnids.

:02:07.:02:11.

A new study has revealed that spiders have a pretty big appetite.

:02:12.:02:15.

Apparently they need up to 800 million tonnes of insects every

:02:16.:02:22.

year. -- they eat. It might sound greedy, but they are helping humans

:02:23.:02:25.

and saving us from disease carrying pests. Without them, the world would

:02:26.:02:32.

be swamped with bugs. So you've got to give them a thumbs up. This

:02:33.:02:39.

spectacular appetite is a rotary -- is a very important, if rather gross

:02:40.:02:42.

part of the food chain. So what do you think now? Still scared? Me too.

:02:43.:02:46.

If you love gadgets, you'll want to watch this.

:02:47.:02:48.

We've been to have a look at some of the latest inventions

:02:49.:02:51.

at the Wearable Technology Show in London.

:02:52.:03:02.

What it does is it translates sign language to text that is

:03:03.:03:08.

displayed on the small screen, and speech that is

:03:09.:03:11.

spoken out through this small speaker.

:03:12.:03:14.

So as I sign, you're hearing what I'm saying

:03:15.:03:16.

anybody that uses sign language as their primary use

:03:17.:03:22.

of communication can wear it and be able to communicate

:03:23.:03:25.

You use your mobile phone or a tablet to bring them

:03:26.:03:35.

There are three swappable blocks, head, body and legs.

:03:36.:03:42.

But the fun that we are trying to encourage

:03:43.:03:46.

is this combination of play between the real object

:03:47.:03:48.

This is a free-to-use mobile app that young surgeons who

:03:49.:03:56.

are learning how to operate can use anywhere, any time.

:03:57.:04:00.

And it allows them to practice on a fake patient,

:04:01.:04:04.

And they can do it on mobile, but they can also do

:04:05.:04:10.

So, with this, we create interactive clothing you can

:04:11.:04:17.

You can draw anything you like and it lasts

:04:18.:04:21.

for five to ten minutes before it fades away.

:04:22.:04:24.

So it is kind of bringing the concept of Snapchat

:04:25.:04:26.

The future of our technology will be in our homes very

:04:27.:04:30.

soon and also we'll see it more and more when we are out and about.

:04:31.:04:39.

Scientists counting Adelie penguins in east Antartica

:04:40.:04:40.

have realised they got their sums wrong - there's about 3.6 million

:04:41.:04:43.

It's because the scientists say they forgot to count the penguins

:04:44.:04:47.

Newsround's back bright and early from 7:40 in the morning.

:04:48.:05:09.

Hey, Lifebabblers. Today we're talking about relationships.

:05:10.:05:13.
