Hello, I'm Ayshah, hope you're having a great Breakfast.

0:00:030:00:05

Here's what's coming up...

0:00:050:00:08

Like gaming?

0:00:080:00:09

We review the new Nintendo Switch.

0:00:090:00:11

And what happened next?

0:00:110:00:13

Stay with us to find out...

0:00:130:00:18

First to a story that's got a lot of you talking.

0:00:240:00:28

Social media is meant to be fun, but for some children it can be

0:00:280:00:29

really stressful, too.

0:00:310:00:32

The children's charity the NSPCC have told us that young people

0:00:320:00:35

are getting worried about Snapchat Streaks.

0:00:350:00:36

Ricky's got the details.

0:00:360:00:39

Funny filters, face-swap, and those silly ears.

0:00:390:00:44

Snapchat is now one of the most popular social media

0:00:440:00:46

apps for young people.

0:00:460:00:49

The team behind it claim 25% of smartphone users in the UK have

0:00:490:00:52

downloaded Snapchat, and in the last two years for some

0:00:520:00:56

of you it's become part of your daily routine,

0:00:560:00:58

especially when it comes to Snapchat Streaks.

0:00:580:01:03

In case you didn't know, a Snapchat Streak is when you send

0:01:030:01:06

a snap back and forth to your mates within a 24-hour window.

0:01:060:01:10

To keep it going, you have to send a snap every day.

0:01:100:01:13

The longer your Streak, the more rewards you get.

0:01:130:01:17

But when a Streak suddenly comes to an end, it can

0:01:170:01:19

cause big problems.

0:01:190:01:21

The children's charity the NSPCC told Newsround that they'd received

0:01:210:01:23

a number of calls from young people who'd been really upset or even

0:01:230:01:26

fallen out with their mates because their Snap Streaks ended.

0:01:260:01:33

We've had some calls from children who are worried about Snap Streaks.

0:01:330:01:37

There was one girl who called us, she couldn't get onto Wi-Fi that day

0:01:370:01:41

so she couldn't continue the Snap Streak and that

0:01:410:01:46

made her so worried there would be bullying and people

0:01:460:01:48

would think she didn't like them any more.

0:01:480:01:50

And it's something that's got lots of you talking, too.

0:01:500:01:53

Maybe one day you forget to do your Streak and then

0:01:530:01:55

you could get annoyed about it.

0:01:550:01:57

Some people get up to maybe 600, and if you've lost that

0:01:570:02:00

Snapchat Streak then you're pretty upset, because all those

0:02:000:02:02

days just for nothing.

0:02:020:02:04

I forgot once and then the person got really cross with me.

0:02:040:02:07

You could get in fights with your friends, saying,

0:02:070:02:09

"Why did you not send me one back," or something like that.

0:02:090:02:13

You try really hard to keep it, and it takes quite a few days

0:02:130:02:16

to try and start it, and then when you lose it

0:02:160:02:19

it's really annoying.

0:02:190:02:20

I tried a Snapchat Streak with my dad, I got to about 30

0:02:200:02:23

and then my dad forgot to do one.

0:02:230:02:25

I didn't get angry at him, because everyone makes mistakes.

0:02:250:02:27

We reached out to Snapchat to find out what they thought

0:02:270:02:30

about all this, but they didn't want to comment.

0:02:300:02:32

Snapchat Streaks can be a really fun way of creating a friendship,

0:02:320:02:35

but it shouldn't be a true picture of friendship.

0:02:350:02:37

It can also create bullying and friendship issues,

0:02:370:02:40

you can fall out over a Snapchat Streak, so it is really

0:02:400:02:44

important to think carefully, to use it safely, to have fun,

0:02:440:02:46

and remember it's not a true picture of friendship.

0:02:460:02:54

You have to watch this goalkeeping howler from

0:02:540:02:56

Middlesbrough's Victor Valdes.

0:02:560:03:01

The Spanish goalie slipped and fell over, allowing Man United's

0:03:040:03:07

Antonio Valencia to score.

0:03:070:03:10

United won 3-1.

0:03:100:03:13

Elsewhere, Man City and Liverpool drew 1-1 and Tottenham

0:03:130:03:15

beat Southampton 2-1.

0:03:150:03:20

It's sold around 80,000 consoles in its first week here in the UK,

0:03:200:03:24

so we asked some pretty Switch-ed on gamers to help us to review

0:03:240:03:32

it - the new Nintendo Switch.

0:03:320:03:34

Hello, my name's Nimra.

0:03:340:03:35

I'm Katrina.

0:03:350:03:36

Harry.

0:03:360:03:37

Hello, my name is Shay.

0:03:370:03:38

Hello, my name is Tom.

0:03:380:03:39

ALL: And we're here to try the Nintendo Switch.

0:03:390:03:45

The Nintendo Switch is a bit different to other consoles that

0:03:490:03:53

are available, because you can use it in lots of different ways.

0:03:530:03:55

Hand-held, like a GameBoy.

0:03:550:03:57

Docked, like a regular console, and with motion controllers,

0:03:570:04:01

like the Nintendo Wii.

0:04:010:04:04

It costs ?279.99, but you might need to fork out a bit more money

0:04:040:04:08

if you want some more accessories.

0:04:080:04:11

It also uses cartridges for games instead of discs.

0:04:110:04:14

But trust me, you do not want to lick them.

0:04:140:04:21

Things I liked about it were mainly the graphics,

0:04:210:04:23

because I think they're sensational.

0:04:230:04:26

I liked how you can just have it in your living room and then,

0:04:260:04:29

say your mum wanted to watch something on the telly,

0:04:290:04:31

you can just pick it up and play your game,

0:04:310:04:34

and you won't have to save anything or stop it.

0:04:340:04:36

I think I prefer it more than the other consoles,

0:04:360:04:39

because the other console you're just like hooked, but on this one

0:04:390:04:42

you can actually be aware of your surroundings.

0:04:420:04:44

I didn't like the size of the controls.

0:04:440:04:48

And they were also really, really fiddly.

0:04:480:04:51

You're going to have to mess about with it to use it.

0:04:510:04:55

I didn't really like the fact that it's quite heavy,

0:04:550:04:58

because you're supposed to carry it around with you.

0:04:580:05:02

It's a bit confusing, but with time you could probably

0:05:020:05:04

get better with it.

0:05:040:05:06

I do prefer it to possibly Xboxes and PS4s, because it allows

0:05:060:05:11

you to do more things with it.

0:05:110:05:15

I like just having one console for everything,

0:05:150:05:18

so this would actually be a good idea, so if Xbox or PlayStation

0:05:180:05:21

could make something like this, it would be actually really good.

0:05:210:05:28

Finally, there are some pretty amazing teachers out there,

0:05:280:05:32

and one has just come away with the prize of being

0:05:320:05:35

the best in the world!

0:05:350:05:37

Maggie MacDonnell, from Quebec in Canada, got the award,

0:05:370:05:40

beating thousands of people.

0:05:400:05:43

She won $1 million.

0:05:430:05:44

And her name was announced by a French astronaut from

0:05:440:05:47

the International Space Station.

0:05:470:05:50

That's it for the morning, we're back this afternoon

0:05:500:05:53

with Leah at 4.20pm.

0:05:530:05:58

See

0:05:580:05:58

See you

0:05:580:05:59

See you soon,

0:05:590:05:59

See you soon, goodbye.
