Hello, and welcome to Newsround. Me and Joe have got all the headlines

from around the world today. Yep, we've got the news, sport, showbiz

and a couple of weird stories as well! Here's what's coming up: Find

out why you might be seeing more goals from girls. And the sorry,

sorry song from our deputy prime First up, in the last few hours an

inquiry into the Grand National, Britain's biggest horse race, has

recommended several changes to prevent any more horses from dying.

Animal rights groups were unhappy after two horses died and lots of

other were hurt in this year's race. BBC Sport Correspondent Andy Swiss

has been taking a more detailed look at the report and joins us now.

What has this report say? The race is always started next to the

grandstand. They are moving it further away from the grandstand so

the horses feel happier and are much more calm and can run better.

Of course, the Grand National, everybody talks about the huge

fences. They are not changing the size of the fences but they are

changing what they are made of, which is a more flexible material,

a bit more soft. Should the horses hit the fence they have a better

chance of getting over. For all its stock horses dying in this race?

That is what we hope. Everybody hopes it will make a difference.

Horse welfare groups say this is not enough. What they wanted to see

was the number of runners in the race cut. There were 40 in this

year's race and they say there was too many but horses were bumping

into each other and causing accidents but the numbers have not

been cut. Organisers say it will make a difference. Does more need

to be done in the future? It is a very tough one. What people have

about the Grand National is that it is a huge challenge and it is a

long course and the ultimate test for a horse. That is why millions

around the world watch it. But you have to balance that with keeping

What year it has been for British women sports with the Olympic and

Paralympic heroes. Bat has been leading to a call for more heroes

to be on our screens. This summer it has all been about girl power.

From Ellie Simmonds in the pool to Nicola Adams in the ring. Women's

sport has never looked so good. And we could be seeing a lot more of it

on our screens. I always thought it would be a good Olympic games for

women, and the Paralympics was very good for women as well. But I was

really heartened by the fact that people wanted to know more and

people were asking why we had not seen these women before. Where had

they been for the last four years? Good question. Why had we not seen

them before. When it comes to sport, TV bosses say it is about demand.

Last night almost one million people tuned in to watch the

English women beat Croatia. It sounds like a big audience, but for

0.7 million watched Real Madrid verses Manchester City and it was

watched by 16 times more fans in the stadium. So the Olympics have

changed things, but there's a long way to go until the girls catch up

with the boys. And the government are keen to make this happen. The

minister in charge of Culture, Media and Sport has written to

broadcasters urging them to not cut their coverage of women's teams now

the Olympics are over. On the BBC there's definitely room for new

sports. Over the past the is the network has lost the rights to show

some of the big stuff like live Premier League games, cricketer and

Horseracing. Earlier this week the new head of the BBC, George

Entwistle said he would like to make the most of growing interest

in the women's sport and look at showing more of it. If the coverage

increases, it is hoped the interest in goalscoring girls will go

through the roof. Other news now, and scientists say sea ice in the

arctic has melted to an all time low. The ice melts every summer

before freezing again when it gets colder. But figures just released

show this year's melt has reached a new record. An area 12 times the

size of the UK has disappeared. Last week we brought you a report

on protests in the Middle East in which 30 people died. Muslims there

were unhappy about a video made in America, representing the prophet

Mohammed in a way that they thought was offensive. Now, there are

worries over tensions rising again, as a magazine in Europe has

published pictures making fun of Security forces around the world

are on high alert, and all because of a cartoon published in a

magazine. These new images make fun of Muslim protests that took place

last week, and they show pictures of the prophet Mohammed that have

been described as offensive. But the people who make the magazine

say the cartoons are just a joke. They say their magazine makes fun

of all religions, and they have a right to continue. When we attack

the Catholic hard right, nobody talks about a bit we cannot make

fun of the Muslim hardliners. It is a new rule and we will not obey it.

Stopping magazines and newspapers saying what they like worries some

people. They think that everyone should have the freedom to say what

they like. But other people say that when it comes to religion,

it's too offensive to joke about. France has the largest Muslim

community in the European Union. One in ten people there follow the

religion, but while reaction within the community has been furious,

French religious heads have been quick to ask for a peaceful

understanding. We expressed to him the indignation felt by Muslims

following a series of provocations but we have always tell the

minister of our peaceful intentions and we will not give in to such a

in the news, like this cartoon of George Osborne and Nick Clegg. But

many people think that a line is crossed when it comes to religion.

In France, it's the same as in the UK. People are allowed the right of

speech but we also consider it a crime to encouraging religious

hatred. Protests haven't begun yet over these images, and the French

authorities are on high alert just in case, but its hoped they will be

able to sort their differences out peacefully.. Now we've all heard of

posh restaurants set up by celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver

and Gordon Ramsey. But there's a brand place opening near Cardiff

that's grabbing the headlines today. The restaurant is run by prisoners.

The idea behind it is to give inmates new skills for their life

after prison. There's one in Surrey already and the plan is to create

two more every year. Some people say the �12-a-week wage is too low

but the inmates say working in the restaurant is great. It's the first

time I've ever had a proper job so it's a good experience. Before

prison I was leading the easy life, but now you have to work for it.

You might think Robbie Williams would be pretty happy after the

birth of his baby daughter Teddy this week. But it turns out the ex-

knighthood. He says he wants to top the special OBE award former

bandmate Gary Barlow got from the Queen for organising her Jubilee
