Afternoon everybody. You're tuned into the right place at the right

time - you're watching Newsround. I'm Hayley and he's Ore and here's

what's happening in the world today. One Direction have done something

no other British band have managed. The Time Lord's latest companion is

revealed! First, the news you've all been waiting for. It is Budget

Day! Sorry? You don't know what Budget Day is? Well, you should

know about it as it could affect all of us. That's right, today the

Government has told everyone what they're going to be spending the

country's money on over the next year. Who is this guy and what's

the deal with his red suitcase? What is in there? His lunch!

Ronnie the pet hamster, maybe nothing at all. No, George Osborne

is the Chancellor of the Exchequer and it is the Budget in there. A

document that says how much money the UK has to spend and where the

money will go. But where does that money come from? So you are at the

shop paying for sweets, but where does the money go to? Some of it it

goes to the person that owns the shone. Some goes to the person who

made the sweets and some of it goes to the Government and that little

bit of money is called tax. Tax comes from all sorts of places,

outed of people's wages and for most of the of the things we buy.

This year, George Osborne has collected about �600 billion of it.

He is not allowed to buy any sweets with it, he has to dish it out for

hospitals, schools and and roads. That's why the Chancellor is

sometimes thought of as the second most important person in the

Government after the Prime Minister. Today, he has announced that some

of the richest people won't pay as much tax, but some of the worst

paid. And fewer people will be given child benefit. That's the

money that parents get for you guys. It is a tough thing whatever he

decides, not everyone will be happy because we want a a slice of the

cash, but no one wants to pay more. But hopefully he will have made

enough people happy and won't need to find another use for that red

Police in France are involved in a siege to try to capture the person

they think is responsible for Monday's school shooting. The man

hiding at his home in Toulouse is suspected of killing three children

and a teacher at a Jewish school. It's thought he also carried out

two other attacks in the area. Next, they've succeeded where JLS

and Take That have failed. One Direction have conquered the

American charts. They've gone straight to number one with their

first ever album becoming the only British band to do that ever.

People are getting so excited about them over there, the boys have been

given their own TV programme. Mice one lads.

Loft. Next to the guy who breaks footballing records for fun - the

one and only Lionel Messi. Last night, he scored his 234th

goal for the Spanish giants Barcelona to become the club's

highest ever goal scorer. This guy is undoubtedly the greatest

footballer on the planet right now. Is he better that's these two

greats? Just another day at the office for Barcelona's Number Ten.

A hat trick in La Liga, his eighth this season, took his tally at club

to 234 goals, breaking bars bone that's record of 232 set nearly 60

years ago, and all at the tender age of 24.

No, I am not Lionel Messi believe it or not, but like me every

footballer wants to play like him. Every fan wants him on their team.

When Manchester United lost to bars loan into in the 2011 and 2009

Champions League finals, a lot of people would say it was down to the

magic of Messi and those skills he has been perfecting since he was a

boy. When Messi was a kid, he was smaller than the rest of his teamks

but that never stopped him being the stand out performer.

To be honest, I was like that. I would get the ball and never pass

it and I would try and make everyone pass to me so I could

score P. He has been crowned the best player on the planet.

Some people still need convincing that he is the best ever. Standing

in his way are two legends of football, fellow country man

Maradona, famous for his Hand of God in the 1986 World Cup and

Brazil's Pele, a World Cup winner three timts, he scored -- times, he

scored over 1200 goals in his career. Messi may have some way to

go, but with with 234 goals so far, the world really is at Messi's

The guy is a genius! Now to a star of the future - the

new Doctor Who companion has been revealed. Jenna-Louise Coleman has

been in Waterloo Road and Emmerdale and is a Blackpool girl like me!

Jenna will make her first appearance in the Doctor Who

Christmas special. What do you get if you cross The X

Factor and the Queen? Simon Cowell in a regal dress? No. The St Paul's

Cathedral Diamond Choir competition to find 40 kids to perform for Her

Majesty at the Jubilee celebrations. It's time to face the music! Wow!

Listen up guys, this is big news, if you are aged 10 to 13 and sing

in a choir, you are being given the chance to sing for The Queen. Yes,

The Queen! And it will be here in the famous St Paul's Cathedral. So

the pressure is on. It is like The X Factor final where

everyone has to sing the same song that's been written for The Queen

and the Simon Cowell of the judges is Andrew here. So what is he

looking for? We are looking for children who are confident, who can

sing clearly. What we are really keen is to get a good cross section

of people and give children the chance to come into this building

and enjoy this wonderful occasion. Anyone can enter, but some of the

kids who are thinking of competing are in here. They have got a bit of

an advantage because they go to the St Paul's Cathedral School, but

let's see what they have got. How do you think you will feel

singing for The Queen? She is The Queen and it is a once in a

lifetime opportunity If you managed to win, how do you

think you would feel singing for The Queen? I would be nervous, but

I would be amazed. In three months time, 40 kids will

be chosen to sing for The Queen. I am nervous for them, but a decision

will be made in a few weeks so we You could have shown them your

vocals, Hayley! A robot designed like a jellyfish

has been built by scientists in America! Here's Robojelly in action.

They're hoping it could be used for underwater rescue operations in the

future. Robojelly is powered by a chemical that's already in water

called hydrogen so it doesn't need batteries and in theory could keep
