Good morning, it's Ricky here with Newsround

Many people have come forward to praise the emergency services

for the work they did to keep people safe after a serious attack

Five people are dead, including a policeman and the man

I'm near to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, in London.

The flag on top of Parliament is flying at half mast as a mark

of respect for those who died, and some roads around

And it is the worst terror attack that has happened since 2005 in

London. I've been looking into exactly

what happened here yesterday. This is one of London's

most important areas - But on Wednesday afternoon

something really serious Police say a man drove a car

over Westminster Bridge, Many were badly injured

and some have even died. He then crashed into the gates

of Parliament and went He attacked a policeman before

being shot and killed by police. The policeman who was

attacked sadly died. To keep everyone safe,

Members of Parliament who work in this building and people visiting

were kept inside for many hours. The Prime Minister, Theresa May,

says the UK will move We will all move forward together,

never giving in to terror, and never allowing the voices

of hate and evil to drive us apart. Many people, including

the Prime Minister, have had lots of praise for the emergency

services, who reacted really quickly to help those who were hurt

and keep people safe. There has been lots of support

from around the world. The Prime Minister has spoken

to President Trump, and in France the lights of the Eiffel Tower

were switched off as Police are now trying to find out

who the man who did this There are extra police

officers around to make sure So, Ayshah, what is it

like in London this morning? Well, some roads near Parliament

are still closed but other roads are busy and there

are lots of people carrying on as normal - walking

or riding their bikes to work. How serious an attack

is this turning out to be? I've been in touch

with Frank Gardener, He said this is the most

serious terrorist attack How are the police

and security services The police have had a lot of praise

for reacting extremely quickly, ending this attack before any more

people were hurt. If you live live in London

you might see lots of extra police officers on duty -

that's to make people feel How rare is this type

of incident in the UK? Frank said this is very rare,

although the Government has been warning people to expect

something like this. But he says to remember

that the chances of any of you getting caught up
