Hello there, I'm Ricky, and I've got some big news coming up this

:00:00.:00:08.

afternoon. The giant model mango that's gone missing down under. And

:00:09.:00:14.

the American football stadium going down with a big bang. This is

:00:15.:00:17.

Newsround. First, we're bringing you the very

:00:18.:00:25.

latest from Ukraine. It's been all over the news for the past few

:00:26.:00:29.

weeks, with pictures of huge demonstrations and burning streets

:00:30.:00:33.

in its capital city. What began as a series of protests against the

:00:34.:00:35.

president's decision to form closer ties with Russia developed into

:00:36.:00:41.

something of a revolution. Now the president has been forced from power

:00:42.:00:45.

and there's a new set of people in charge. Here's Nel to explain what's

:00:46.:00:47.

been going on. Tuesday the 18th of February, people

:00:48.:00:57.

have been demonstrating against the president for months, but last week

:00:58.:01:02.

things turned violent. Clashes between protesters and police left

:01:03.:01:05.

dozens dead and hundreds more injured. Thursday, two days later,

:01:06.:01:11.

the country held a national day of mourning, but the violence carried

:01:12.:01:17.

on and more people died. Friday the 21st, President Yanukovych signed a

:01:18.:01:21.

deal with opposition leaders, but the protesters wanted more. They

:01:22.:01:27.

demanded that the president resign. Saturday, things begin to move very

:01:28.:01:34.

quickly. Protesters took control of the capital city, Kirch. President

:01:35.:01:40.

Yanukovych was nowhere to be seen. Parliament voted to remove him from

:01:41.:01:46.

power. Sunday, by the end of the weekend, Ukraine had a stand-in

:01:47.:01:51.

president, but still no-one could be sure where President Yanukovych had

:01:52.:01:53.

gone. As Ukraine's parliament tries to

:01:54.:01:55.

pull together a new government, thousands of protestors are still in

:01:56.:01:59.

the centre of the capital city Kiev, which is a calmer, more reflective

:02:00.:02:06.

place than it was a few days ago. BBC reporter Duncan Crawford centres

:02:07.:02:13.

this. This is Independence Square, it has been a protest camp for the

:02:14.:02:16.

last three months, but last week it turned into a battle zone. Almost

:02:17.:02:22.

100 people died and it has become a shrine to the dead. Just look at all

:02:23.:02:26.

the flowers which have been laid, so many people crying, upset here about

:02:27.:02:31.

the huge loss of life. And people blame the President, President

:02:32.:02:37.

Yanukovych, who has gone missing, he is on the run, and an arrest warrant

:02:38.:02:42.

was issued for him today. So far, no-one knows where he is, though.

:02:43.:02:47.

There is no police in the square at the moment, no security, and the men

:02:48.:02:52.

who remain in charge of the centre of Kiev of the men who manned

:02:53.:02:54.

barricades like this. Head to the website for lots more on

:02:55.:02:58.

this story, including a picture gallery showing the inside of the

:02:59.:03:01.

former president's palace, and to find out more about the history of

:03:02.:03:03.

the troubled country. Mobile-phone makers are showing off

:03:04.:03:06.

their latest designs at the Mobile World Congress in Spain. There's

:03:07.:03:09.

plenty of wearable tech like smart watches on show. They haven't taken

:03:10.:03:13.

off yet, but that isn't stopping the likes of Samsung launching new

:03:14.:03:16.

designs. And this year there's a big focus on affordable smartphones for

:03:17.:03:19.

the developing world, like this Firefox phone. It costs around ?15.

:03:20.:03:23.

Radio 1 gadget guru Jonathan Blake sent us this message, from his

:03:24.:03:28.

smartphone, of course. This is the place to come to see the latest

:03:29.:03:32.

technology before it hits the shops. There are smartphones on

:03:33.:03:35.

display here which are the most powerful, fastest and biggest we

:03:36.:03:39.

have seen yet. But also many cheaper phones, because companies are trying

:03:40.:03:43.

to appeal to the developing world, places where many people cannot

:03:44.:03:47.

afford an expensive smartphone. That is one of the big themes, also

:03:48.:03:52.

wearable technology. We have heard about smart watches before,

:03:53.:03:54.

companies have struggled to get people to buy them, so they are

:03:55.:03:57.

pushing them too. A massive mango hunt is going on in

:03:58.:04:01.

Australia after thieves nicked a 10-metre high model of the fruit!

:04:02.:04:05.

The Big Mango tourist attraction was stolen overnight using cranes in

:04:06.:04:08.

Bowen, a town famous for its mangoes. It's one of over 150

:04:09.:04:10.

super-size sculptures across the country. Officials are confident the

:04:11.:04:16.

mango will be found because it's going to be pretty difficult to hide

:04:17.:04:23.

it for long. Well, as you can see, the big Mango has gone missing! It

:04:24.:04:27.

was definitely here yesterday, and when I came to work this morning, I

:04:28.:04:32.

was informed that had gone missing. Sure enough, it is no longer there.

:04:33.:04:36.

We will keep you updated on that one, for sure. Last up, from a big

:04:37.:04:41.

fruit to an even bigger explosion. This American football stadium in

:04:42.:04:44.

Minneapolis had its concrete ring beam brought down in a controlled

:04:45.:04:47.

explosion yesterday. The Metrodome was voted America's worst stadium by

:04:48.:04:52.

a magazine in 2012. It's being demolished to make way for a

:04:53.:04:55.

brand-new venue. That's all from me, Newsround's back at 6:50, see you

:04:56.:04:56.

then.

:04:57.:04:59.
