The latest attempts to stop the protests and save the World Cup in

Brazil. First to a big row about whether

there should be more famous women on your money.

Equality campaigners, the Women's Group, are angry at the Bank of

England's plans to have pictures of famous men only on the back of bank

notes in the future. They say it's insulting and today

they might just have persuaded the Bank into a bit of a U-turn. Money.

Do you look who is stairing back at you when you spend it. If you do,

you will notice it's mainly all men. Apart from the Queen there will be

no famous women on the back of English notes at all. The current

faces are Charles Darwin, Adam Smith and John Houblon. From 2016 Winston

Churchill will re replace social campaigner, Elizabeth Fry. That has

got women's groups angry. It really damages the aspirations of young

girls. The campaign wants people to suggest worthy women to go on your

banknotes to balance things out. Who do you think fits the bill? Taylor

Swift. I would choose JK Rowling.I choose Rihanna. I choose Jessica

Ennis, she is an inspiration to me. The Bank of England have a strict

criteria list. They must have a widely recognised name and art work

on which a design can be based. Have made a lasting contribution to

society. Yes to Ennis. Maybe not to Swift. Not be controversial, bye,

bye Rihanna. And, must be dead. Campaigners say there are plenty of

women who do meet the criteria. Tonight the Governor of the Bank of

England said they might consider famous author Jane Austen on �1 0

notes in the future. As it stands the Queen's going to be the only

face on your money in the future. About if the Bank of England do

decide to change the rules I can think of one face who the country

football - say the World Cup in Brazil will go ahead next summer

despite violent protests that have dominated a warm-up tournament in

the country. It comes as Brazil's President,

Dilma Rousseff, moved to try and calm weeks of angry clashes by

proposing five big changes to the way the country's run.

Brazil has lots of poor people and the protestors say the government

has been wasting money and not giving enough to people who need it

most. It all started when the world's most

footy mad country went hopping mad over plans to increase bus fares.

Then anger quickly flared over how much it's costing to host the World

Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016.

Her proposals include stopping the rising cost of housing, food and

other things, more money for schools, doctors and transport and a

big review of lots of Brazil's laws to make things fairer.

So will those plans stop the protests?

Daniel, a protester from Sao Paulo, sent Newsround his reaction.

Brazilians don't believe in politicians any more. We don't

believe only words. We want to see action. And, until now, there is no

real action going on and that's why the protests probably are going to

keep going on. From Brazil to India where rescue

teams have been desperately trying to reach the survivors of the worst

floods there for 80 years. Thousands of people are trapped

after flooding and landslides in the north of the country over the last

week. More than 600 people have died and

officials have warned of more rain to come.

Sanjoy Mujumder is there for the BBC. We have had quite a bit of

rain, but the skies have just cleared. The first of these Indian

air force helicopters are taking off. Many others will follow. They

headed out to the mountains carrying food and emergency supplies for

thousands of people still stranded there.
