This is the Let's Go Club, but mini!

0:00:020:00:04

Expect making, exploring,

0:00:040:00:05

super-sizing, dancing,

0:00:050:00:08

fact-finding and laughing.

0:00:080:00:10

We've only got a few minutes,

0:00:100:00:12

so get ready for more fun from The Let's Go Club.

0:00:120:00:16

My name is Mason.

0:00:160:00:17

And I'm Matthew, and today we're going on an underwater adventure.

0:00:170:00:21

-BOTH:

-Let's go!

0:00:210:00:22

Andy is a scuba diver.

0:00:250:00:27

He uses special equipment so he can swim underwater.

0:00:270:00:30

This wet suit keeps me warm in the water.

0:00:300:00:33

Now we're ready to be scuba divers too.

0:00:330:00:35

What does it feel like, being underwater?

0:00:350:00:38

Similar to space, where you're weightless.

0:00:380:00:40

Astronauts like Tim Peake trained in a swimming pool

0:00:400:00:44

before they went into space.

0:00:440:00:45

Do people always go scuba diving in a pool?

0:00:450:00:48

Today we'll be in the pool where it's safe,

0:00:480:00:51

but with more practice you can go into the ocean

0:00:510:00:53

where there's lots more to see.

0:00:530:00:55

What equipment do you need to scuba dive?

0:00:550:00:59

This is the scuba system, and the most important bit

0:00:590:01:02

is this tank, which holds all of the air.

0:01:020:01:04

Coming off the tank we have our mouthpiece,

0:01:040:01:07

and this helps us breathe underwater.

0:01:070:01:10

What we have here are the fins.

0:01:100:01:11

These are going to go on our feet and make it a lot easier

0:01:110:01:15

and quicker to go for a swim in the pool today.

0:01:150:01:18

Can you talk under water?

0:01:180:01:20

We can't talk underwater, but we use hand signals. So this is OK.

0:01:200:01:24

That's fantastic.

0:01:240:01:26

We've then got this signal - "let's go up to the surface".

0:01:260:01:29

"Let's go down". If we were to have a problem, we signal like this.

0:01:290:01:33

Maybe your ears are hurting, so you can go "problem"

0:01:330:01:37

and then point at your ears so we know and we can fix it underwater.

0:01:370:01:41

'Now it's time to get in the water.'

0:01:410:01:44

I want you to put one arm through there for me.

0:01:440:01:46

'We put on the jacket first...'

0:01:460:01:49

That's it.

0:01:490:01:50

'And last we put on the mask.'

0:01:510:01:54

We're going to descend down, so we give that signal down.

0:01:570:02:01

'Andy teaches us how to swim underwater.'

0:02:060:02:09

'It's really cool and I feel weightless, just like an astronaut.

0:02:090:02:14

'I'm telling Andy everything is OK.'

0:02:140:02:16

You're amazing.

0:02:180:02:20

-So, who's ready for some underwater games?

-Me!

0:02:200:02:23

'We are throwing a disc under water.'

0:02:240:02:28

'Discs move slower underwater than in air,

0:02:280:02:31

'but the water makes us move slower too,

0:02:310:02:34

'so the disc is tricky to catch.'

0:02:340:02:36

'The torpedo moves even quicker.'

0:02:380:02:41

'Good catch, Matthew!'

0:02:410:02:43

'We're having an underwater egg and spoon race,

0:02:450:02:48

'using ping-pong balls instead of eggs.'

0:02:480:02:51

'We need to hold the spoon upside down

0:02:510:02:53

'to stop the ping-pong ball floating up.'

0:02:530:02:56

'It's really tricky.'

0:02:560:02:58

'We're doing underwater somersaults.'

0:03:020:03:04

'And barrel rolls.

0:03:040:03:07

'The barrel rolls were tricky.'

0:03:070:03:09

You guys did absolutely fantastic.

0:03:090:03:11

Here's some certificates saying you completed

0:03:110:03:14

the Let's Go scuba diving class.

0:03:140:03:16

-Wow.

-Now can we jump in the pool?

0:03:160:03:18

I think that's a good idea. One, two, three, jump!

0:03:180:03:22

You can join The Let's Go Club too.

0:03:270:03:29

Just grab a grown-up and head to the CBeebies website.

0:03:290:03:32

There's songs to sing along to,

0:03:320:03:34

things to make and do and CBeebies Radio too.

0:03:340:03:37

Remember, we're the club that never closes.
