-The Chinese New Year starts tomorrow

-Today, Nerys has some recipes

-to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

-The first recipe is for

-some vegetable noodles and duck.

-It's a very easy dish to make.

-I'm warmed the wok.

-I've cooked the duck.

-I've drained off the fat...

-..and will use that

-for frying the vegetables.

-Duck is a healthy meat.

-Duck is more expensive

-than a chicken.

-It's very rich.

-I'm frying two cloves of garlic

-and an inch or two of ginger.

-Next, I've got some onion...

-..and the white part

-of the spring onions.

-I'm using two duck breasts...

-..that will serve four people.

-Score the skin.

-This will be rubbed with salt.

-I remember ducks hanging

-outside the shops in Porthmadog.

-It takes me back to my childhood.

-Why did they do that?

-I don't know.

-It was the same with pheasant.

-I've rubbed the duck

-with Chinese five spice.

-You can make this instead of

-ordering a takeaway this weekend.

-This goes into a dry pan...

-..skin-side-down.

-It will release a lot of fat.

-I've got some peas too.

-You can use sugarsnap peas.

-Chinese food is cooked quickly...

-..at a very high heat.

-Add some pak choi.

-It's very easy to cook.

-You could use spinach or chard

-if you don't have pak choi.

-You could also use cabbage

-in its place.

-I can really smell the garlic.

-Keep stirring it.

-Add another pak choi.

-Let's check the duck.

-Turn it and place it in the oven

-for about 20 minutes.

-I've already got some duck

-ready cooked.

-There's also some beansprouts

-and egg noodles.

-These are the traditional noodles.

-I've got whole-wheat noodles.

-Time is running away with us!

-The duck goes in here

-with some soy sauce...

-..and some oyster sauce.

-It will only take a minute or two.

-It was started in 2008.

-A gentleman called Phil

-formed the group...

-..after he discovered

-that he had cancer.

-What makes this group special?

-He was unhappy with the provision

-of help that was available.

-Our group is liked with Prostate UK.

-He felt that he didn't get

-the information that he wanted...

-..and wanted something

-more personal.

-This is a new role for you, Chris.

-Tell us your experience

-of this disease.

-I'm delighted to be

-a patron of the charity.

-My father and uncle

-and father-in-law...

-..have had prostate cancer.

-I've got a condition...

-..that is called

-benign prostatic hyperplasia.

-It's an enlarged prostate.

-I have all sorts of symptoms

-associated with it.

-My father has recovered

-from prostate cancer.

-My father-in-law passed away.

-Ken has survived the cancer.

-What's your story, Ken?

-I got some of the many symptoms.

-I went to the doctor...

-..and he said that there

-was nothing wrong with me.

-I found myself going

-to the toilet regularly.

-It's more common in men

-over the age of 50.

-I don't think about it for myself.

-A lot of men out there

-don't know about the symptoms.

-It's important for people

-to know about the symptoms.

-If they are caught early...

-..then it can be treated quickly.

-How long did it take

-to get diagnosed?

-I went to the neurologist.

-I was offered various treatments.

-The treatments all depend

-on the stage of the cancer.

-I was injected with

-radioactive iodine...

-..and that was my treatment.

-Every treatment

-has its side effects.

-As a result,

-it can hamper your toilet habits...

-..or your ability

-to have sexual relations.

-We work in supermarkets...

-..and talk to men about it.

-I think it's something

-that we need to do.

-I've got 200 grams of butter

-Melt this over a medium heat.

-of rye flour and some spices.

-We've got ginger, mixed spice,

-Those are the dry ingredients.

-Give this a stir.

-and Demerara sugar to it.
