Photographs of the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing topless are

published again - this time in an Irish newspaper. As the Royal

couple continue their tour of South East Asia, their spokesperson says

publication is motivated by greed. The Taliban attack Camp Bastion in

Afghanistan, where Prince Harry is based. Two US Marines are killed.

And, the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire, Sir Norman Bettison, is

referred to the police watchdog over his role at Hillsborough. Good

afternoon. The Irish Daily Star has published photos of the Duchess of

Cambridge sunbathing topless while on holiday in France. The pictures

appeared in the Irish edition of the paper, but not editions

published in Northern Ireland or on the British mainland. A St James's

Palace spokeswoman said there could be no motivation for this action

other than greed. Our Royal correspondent Peter Hunt is

following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their tour in Malaysia

and sent this report. Even in a remote Borneo jungle,

there's no escape. No matter how high the Royals climb. In William

and Kate's case, it's more than 100 feet up, inside one of the world's

oldest rainforests. But there's been little respite as they learn

firsthand about conservation work here in this part of Malaysia.

First, a French magazine invaded their privacy in a grotesque

fashion, they say. Now, also a newspaper, much closer to home.

The Irish Daily Star, part-owned... Mr Desmond's company say they abhor

the actions of one of their own papers. A spokesman for William and

Kate said the tabloid's only motivation must have been greed.

Kaeult Middleton is another of the fantastic line of celebrities

people are interested in their lives, whether it be Julia Roberts,

whether it be Rihanna, that's what Kate Middleton is. She's not our

future Queen. A life of intense skaout skaout scrutiny lies ahead

for Kate. The couple are taking the French magazine to court to stop

them using the pictures again. William and Kate must now decide

what, if anything, to do about the Irish Daily Star.

The couple will leave this country and head to two tiny South Pacific

nations, the Solomon islands and Tuvalu. The naked photos have been

dominating their thoughts. William and Kate will be hoping they won't

dominate the rest of their tour. The Taliban have attacked a base in

Afghanistan where Prince Harry is stationed, killing two US marines.

He was unharmed in the incident. American officials said small arms,

rockets and mortars were used to attack the perimeter of Camp

Bastion, a British base home to troops from several countries. As

Jonathan Beale reports, the Taliban claim they carried out the attack

in response to an amateur US-made film mocking Islam.

This video released by the Taliban claims to show the aftermath of the

attack. With smoke rising from what's supposed to be one of the

most heavily defended and secure military bases in Afghanistan. Camp

Bastion, where thousands of US and British troops are based.

It's also now home to Prince Harry, who arrived here just one week ago

as an Apache helicopter pilot. Unlike in 2008, when he was last in

Helmand, under a media blackout that was eventually broken, this

time the Ministry of Defence has made his presence public.

The Taliban have already said they will target him but NATO insist

Captain Wales was never in any danger during the attack.

The question now is how were insurgents able to penetrate such a

fortified military base? The sprawling camp in Helmand is

situated in the desert. It's surrounded by a fence, with

surveillance equipment and guards. Around 20 insurgents launched their

attack last night under the cover of darkness. A suicide bomber was

used to breach the camp's wall. Taliban fighters then opened fire

using machine guns and grenades. Two American marines were killed,

buildings on the base were damaged along with a number of US aircraft.

We are always concerned and worried about security of our soldiers and

we look at our measures, security measures, if they are appropriate

and we adopt them if required and we take certainly lessons learned

from those attacks and implement those into a new procedures, if

required. The Taliban say this assault which

appears to have been planned and co-ordinated was revenge for the

film which has sparked protests across the Islamic world. They've

also warned there will be further attacks.

Jonathan is in Kabul now. You also said in your report that they

claimed that they were targeting Prince Harry. What's your reading

of that? Well, right from the outset the Taliban made clear that

this attack was linked to that film that's caused outrage in the

Islamic world. That said, later statements said they targeted this

base because of Prince Harry. You have to view that as partly Taliban

propaganda. They want to get as much publicity as they can out of

this brazen assault. The bottom line is that NATO says his life was

never in any danger. I understand he was more than a kilometre away

from where the attack took place on the US side of the air base.

Nevertheless, there will be questions about his security. There

is a review of the base security by the Americans and the British

taking place at the moment. But I am told that this incident will not

affect his deployment. He will be there for another four months.

And, in a separate attack in Afghanistan, a soldier from 1st

Battalion Grenadier Guards has been killed. The Ministry of Defence

said the soldier's vehicle hit a roadside bomb yesterday in the

Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province. His family has been

informed. One of the people allegedly

involved in making the film, which has sparked protests among Muslims

across the world, has been questioned by federal officers in

Los Angeles. It came as the demonstrations spread to Australia,

where there were clashes between hundreds of protestors and police

at the US consulate in Sydney. Some carried placards reading, "Behead

all those who insult the Prophet". A complaint against the Chief

Constable of West Yorkshire Police - which emerged following an

independent panel report into the Hillsborough disaster - has been

referred to the police watchdog. Sir Norman Bettison will be

investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission

following disclosures about the conduct of officers investigating

the tragedy. Sir Norman was a chief inspector with South Yorkshire at

the time. Ed Thomas is at West Yorkshire police headquarters.

What's the specific complaint against Sir Norman? Well, the calls

of the families of some of those who died at hills parais that Sir -

- Hillsborough is that Sir Norman tried to cover up what happened in

19 9 -- 1989. The panel found 164 statements this been altered by

seniors officers as they tried to blame Liverpool fans for the 96

deaths. Now, in 1989 Sir Norman Bettison was a chief inspector with

South Yorkshire police and he admits he was asked by an Assistant

Chief Constable to look into what happened so they could find out

what went wrong. For the past 15 years he's been clear he did not

change a statement, he says, and he was not asked to change any

statements. This Independent Police Complaints Commission will try

establish facts about about what happened. What has he had to say

about it? We have had a statement from Sir Norman, he said that he

was pleased that this was now being referred to the IPCC. He said he

welcomed this step and said that this moves to a more formal and

legal inquiry was what had to happen. We have also had reaction

from Trevor Hicks, he lost his two daughters in Hillsborough in 1989.

He said, the wheels of justice are turning and that we will present

evidence to the IPCC about what we know happened in the days and weeks

after Hillsborough. He said that he hopes Sir Norman Bettison would

have action taken against him. Thank you.

Horse racing - and there was a surprise at Doncaster this

afternoon as Camelot, the favourite for the St Leger, was beaten into

second place by Encke, trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni and ridden by

Mickael Barzalona. Camelot was racing to become the first Triple

Crown winner since 1970 and despite challenging with two furlongs to go,

couldn't catch Encke, who won by three quarters of a length.

Football - there is plenty of action in the Barclay's Premier

League today. Arsenal beat Southampton 6-1, while Manchester

United and Fulham also earned three points from their matches.
