Good evening. We certainly had contrasting weather conditions for

photography across Anglesey this weekend. Sunshine on Saturday and

cloud and rain on Sunday. Cool this weekend and we stick with that this

week. Temperatures below average and turning wet and windy in the

second half of the week. This wet and windy weather today came

courtesy of the cloud that is pushing South and East. Clearing

skies working in over the northern flank of that, Scotland and

Northern Ireland, so temperatures will drop. They could be some mist

and fog with the winds so light. Into the morning rush-hour, some

lively bursts of rain across the South West and South Coast. All in

all, it will be a great day with rain on and off. Mist and fog and

low cloud breaks up further North and it will be brighter with sunny

spells. Showers returned to northern Scotland later in the day,

may be preceded by some snow above 400 metres in the North West

Highlands. Much of Scotland will be dry and bright, the same in

Northern Ireland when the mist and fog has broken up. Brighter in

northern England and predominantly dry with just a couple of showers

possible. In the afternoon, centre will breakthrough in the Midlands,

Wales and the South West. -- sunshine will break through. We

stick with the rain in the south- eastern corner and a long southern

coasts. That is where we will see the heaviest rainfall, and it is

possible across Sussex and Kent. -- one inch is possible. That

continues into Tuesday with cloud and rain in the North of Scotland.

Calder by and large overnight with Frost through to the Midlands. In

the South, winds are lightest, but Tuesday will not be too bad. This

weather front is developing to the South of Iceland bringing cloud and

outbreaks of rain to western Scotland and the North of Northern

Ireland. Southern and eastern parts will be dry and bright with

increasing cloud. We lose mist and fog elsewhere to some bright and

sunny spells during the day. Temperatures do not rise a great

deal despite sunny spells in the West. Low pressure develops across

north-western Scotland. Make friends with it because it stays

all week. Isobars begin to tighten. Heavy rain from Scotland and

Northern Ireland through into England and Wales during the day.

It is driest for longest in the south-eastern corner, but we cannot

rule out any showers here. Particularly windy with gale-force

winds expected and feeling cool. This weather front pushes East into

Thursday. It could develop ulcers of heavy rain. That will slow its

departure. It will be very wet across eastern England on Thursday.

That raises the risk of higher river levels across the South. But

once it has gone, lighter winds than Wednesday with a mixture of

sunshine and showers. That low pressure stays to the North on

Friday. We have to watch this feature running into the North

Atlantic. Some of the models take that very close to the South of the

UK so there is a small potential at this stage of longer spells of rain

across the South coast. At the moment, on Friday there will be

strong to blustery winds and showers prolific in the West. We
