Police name three people on board the helicopter that crashed in

Glasgow on Friday night. They were pilot David Traill and

police constables Tony Collins and Kirsty Nelis.

In Glasgow Cathedral, a special service remembers the dead and

injured. With 12 people still being treated

in hospital, we'll have the latest. Also on the programme this evening:

Good evening. Police have named the three people

on board the helicopter that crashed in Glasgow on Friday night - they

were the pilot, David Traill, and two police officers, Kirsty Nelis

and Tony Collins. 12 people are still being treated in hospital,

three of them are in intensive care. Attempts are continuing to remove

the helicopter from the site. Our Scotland correspondent James Cook is

in Glasgow for us. James. Yes, nearly two days after this

helicopter crashed, the pain it has caused is becoming clearer. As you

say, eight people are confirmed dead, three seriously injured in

hospital, and police unable to rule out the possibility of finding more

bodies in the wreckage. Slowly, gently, inch by inch, the whole

impact of this crash is becoming clear. It has left the city with

many questions, and now the search for answers is beginning. But first,

emergency services have another job. They must bring out the dead,

including three of their own. This is a painstaking process which we

expect to take some time because we need to ensure the safety of the

operation and the members of the emergency services. They are working

tirelessly at the scene. The scars are not just physical. Today, with

great courage, a survivor of the crash returned to the scene to pay

tribute. He said his only memory was waking up and being pulled out why a

fireman. I came back today because... A man died next to me.

The names and faces of the dead are being made public. Kirsty Nelis was

36, she had won an award for bravery. So had her Connick -- her

colleague, PC Tony Collins. The pilot, David Traill, also died. He

had served with the RAF. And in the pub, Gary Ardley -- Gary Arber was

one of the big ones. At Glasgow Cathedral they gathered in sorrow.

This city has been shaken, but it is still standing tall, crowd of how

ordinary Glaswegians and the emergency services risked their

lives to help others. We do not end this day in despair. Our answer is

that we stand defiant, and are great, vibrant and irrepressible

city shall stand together with those who are suffering. The city is

standing together as shock its way to grieve.

Two sisters who were in the part of the Clutha pub directly hit by the

helicopter both feared the other was dead. Ann Faulds and Nancy Primrose

were injured but were back home today. They talked to Chris Buckler

about escaping from the pub and surviving, when others didn't.

The search operation seems to dominate the skyline. In the shadows

of the buildings, people are paying tribute, and those who escaped from

the pub are reflecting on what could have been. All the people that

didn't make it, all their families, they just went for a night out. We

were lucky. We were really lucky. Nancy was with her sister at the pub

when the ceiling caved in. Amid the chaos, neither knew if the other was

safe. They are aware that their survival rested simply on where they

sat at the bar. Nancy was blown straight up in the air. She was a

couple of feet away from me. Within seconds of the blast, people were

being pulled out. People must have straightaway started to pull people

out. Both sisters were injured but break time their family could not be

sure if they were alive or dead. The phone call I got was, Nancy is not

good, you need to be here. It was horrible. There are families still

facing the same fears, and others grieving. Families gathered nearby,

watching as the surface -- as the rescue operation continues. For

others who escaped, it was important to come here. It's the families, it

is just everybody involved, really. People want to remember, despite the

horror. They are still praying for the survivors and the families of

those lost in this crash. And they are still trying to extricate the

fusilade of the helicopter from the record -- from the wreckage to try

to establish what happened. That is obviously a dangerous operation and

one that is sensitive as well, given what they might find inside. It is

likely to go one for considerable time.

The Government is promising to reduce everyone's energy bills by

?50 a year in an effort to quell concerns about rising fuel costs.

Ministers say it will be paid for from general taxation and a further

crackdown on tax avoidance. Labour says the move won't prevent future

energy price rises and will do little to address what it says is a

cost of living crisis. Here's our political correspondent, Adam

Fleming. Is this season when the energy

industry puts up its prices. Most of the big six companies have announced

increases, pushing the average jewel will all above 1400 pounds. To the

rescue, David Cameron and Nick Clegg, writing today about how the

government plans to save families ?50 a year. A scheme where poorer

households get subsidised energy paid for by everybody else will be

funded I general taxation instead. In other scheme will be spread out

over a longer period than planned to make it cheaper. That will help

families, and we're doing it in the way the government can do it, which

is controlling the costs families incurred because of government

policies. We're also doing it in a way that will not damage the

environment. There will also be a new grant of ?1000 for people moving

house who want to make energy-saving improvements, although some in the

industry are not convinced. At the moment, you can get up to ?1000 if

you install measures, you don't even have to move house. You need to use

certain contractors. But that is already there, if only people knew

about it. Gas and electricity bills will be frozen. This all comes after

that pledge by Labour that they would freeze bills for nearly two

years if elected in 25th team. Anything they do is better than

nothing. Shifting from bills to taxes is taking with one hand to

give with the other. People still pay more bills. Is there a price

freeze? No. No need for the energy companies here at the Southbank

Centre. These decorations are pedal powered. What do you think of this

idea of taking ?50 off your bill? Well, any money coming off my bill

is good. That is just under ?1 a week. I think it is a little too

late. This is not a rebate, there will be no check in the post. It is

a small reduction in our bills that are largely in the hands of our

energy companies. EDF said that next year they expected prices to stay

the same, not that they would go down. It might not feel like a big

early Christmas present, but the government hopes it will be banked

when they announce further details on Thursday.

At least four people have died and a dozen more have been injured after a

train derailed in New York. Several carriages left the tracks as the

train went round a bend in the Bronx. From the scene, Nick Bryant

has just sent this report. The railway along the Hudson River

is normally one of the most interesting ways to enter New York.

But this morning it became the scene of death and chaos. A train left the

tracks on a sharp bend just Lance -- just yards from the station and just

yards from the freezing water. Lead carriage came to the -- came to a

stop just short of the river. The first emergency crews reached the

scene within five minutes. They had to shatter windows to reach

survivors. Eyewitnesses said the train approached the bend going

unusually fast. It is really scary that something like that could

happen. It is a very tight turn. It is a sharp curve. Maybe there was a

broken rail involved. I don't know, these guys know it is a curve will

stop as well as carrying woodland from passengers, police divers also

searched the waters. More people would have been killed had this not

happened so only on a Sunday morning with a train that was only half

full, carrying 150 passengers. The authorities say if this had happened

at the start of a working week with a crowded commuter train, they would

have been dealing with a much more major disaster. At least four people

have been killed and over 60 injured. Investigators say they will

examine the track and the signal system, and also interviewed the

driver, who was injured but survived.

Tributes are being paid to Paul Walker, the actor who shot to fame

in the Fast And The Furious series of action movies, who has died in a

car crash in California. The 40-year-old was a passenger in a

Porsche when the driver lost control in Los Angeles. The vehicle collided

with a tree and caught fire. China has launched its first moon

probe, marking a major milestone in the country's space programme. It's

being carried onboard an unmanned rocket which has just taken off from

Southern China. It is expected to land on the moon and begin carrying

out experiments by mid-December if everything goes to plan.

Police and anti-government protestors have been fighting

running battles on the streets of the Thai capital Bangkok. Water

canon and tear gas has been used against the demonstrators opposed to

what they claim is the corrupt leadership of Yingluck Shinawatra.

From the Thai capital, Jonathan Head has just sent this report.

They have been trying for more than a week. A wave of mainly

middle-class marchers, fighting, they say, to preserve the values of

old Thailand, like reverence for the King. Hoping the power of protest

can shake a government they accuse of corruption and bribing poor

voters. Just short of the prime ministers office, they hit in wall.

The police had fortified it. They tried siege tactics. And throwing

rocks. But this time, the police responded.

This is now the front line of this attempt to break through to

government offices. They been pushing for hours now, all the way

to get to this point, and they are stuck all stop we got pepper spray,

tear gas, so far that has been enough to keep the protesters at

bay. They have not gone yet. They brought in some unusual improvised

weapons. But they just couldn't get past the waves of stinging gas. I

have no idea, but this is what we do. We hope we win. Were you carry

on after today? I think so. It's hard right now, but this is what we

going to do. For the country. By nightfall, they had made little

progress. Down to a few hard-core young men. No people's revolt, then.

And they know that if an election was held tomorrow, the government is

still loved by much of rural Thailand and would probably win

again. Time now for some sport.

Liverpool have mist the chance to reduce Arsenal's lead at the top of

the Premier League after they were beaten by Hull City for the first

time. It was a bad afternoon but Totten at Manchester United, who

drew 2-2. Plans to change Hull City's name

have gone down badly with some of their fans. On the field, the Tigers

have lacked teeth this season. Jake Livermore's deflected goal provided

some much-needed bite. Steven Gerrard quickly got his side a

contract. They had never lost against whole, but with 18 minutes

left, David Meyler got the home side back in front. And Martin Skrtel's

own goal made it three. Hull City celebrated a famous win. Debate over

the name can make another day. Inside White Hart Lane, a sense of

unease. After last weekend's rushing at Manchester City, Spurs started

like a side who wanted to build bridges. Instead, Kyle Walker

started by smashing through a wall. Tottenham should have extended their

lead, but Wayne Rooney had a chance of an equaliser. The pressure was

back on Andrew Vilas Boas, but not belong. Seconds later, United were

back level. Danny Welbeck was brought down and Rooney 's penalty

was emphatic all stop either side could have won it. A draw was

probably a fair result. Chelsea conceded after 13 seconds but went

on to eat their opponents 3-1. Fulham have sacked their manager

after 2.5 years with the club will stop babe lost six games in a row

and Aaron in -- and are in 18th place. Aberdeen are through to the

fifth round of the Scottish club. Celtic past Hart 7-0.

Rory McIlroy has won his first title of the year, beating Adam Scott at

the final hole. He started the day for shots behind, but an excellent

round saw him take the title I1 stroke.
