Welcome to Reporting Scotland. Tonight on your national news: | :00:22. | :00:25.
Edinburgh's trams back on track. After overnight negotiations, the | :00:25. | :00:30.
city council signs a new deal with the main contractor. It is all over. | :00:31. | :00:36.
The Rangers fans come on to the park. We remember the BBC football | :00:36. | :00:45.
commentator, David Francey, who's died at the age of 87. Marching off, | :00:45. | :00:50.
if not to combat, a close simulation. We joined the | :00:50. | :00:53.
Territorials training for life in Afghanistan. And later in the | :00:53. | :00:56.
programme. A red card for Frank McAvennie in a heated Old Firm | :00:57. | :01:00.
clash of the 80s. But today he says the fallout from recent games has | :01:00. | :01:08.
been blown out of proportion. giving the PC brigade the chance to | :01:08. | :01:11.
jump in and get involved in football. They shouldn't get | :01:11. | :01:18.
Work on Edinburgh's trams system is set to resume after the city | :01:18. | :01:22.
settled a dispute with its main contractor. The council has signed | :01:22. | :01:25.
a new deal with the consortium Bilfinger Berger after late-night | :01:25. | :01:28.
negotiations, ending fears the two sides may have had to resolve their | :01:28. | :01:31.
dispute in the courts. It clears the way for construction work to | :01:31. | :01:38.
get underway again. From the capital, Gavin Walker reports. | :01:38. | :01:41.
For the long-suffering people of Edinburgh, today's contract signing | :01:41. | :01:48.
is something of a mixed blessing. First, the good news, there the | :01:48. | :01:52.
potentially expensive court case has now been seen off, and work on | :01:52. | :01:56.
the trams themselves can now begin again. The bad news is, if you live | :01:56. | :02:01.
along the route, when the work begins it is likely to bring | :02:01. | :02:06.
widespread transport disruption. The council leader seemed relieved | :02:06. | :02:12.
today to have avoided a potentially crippling court case. We have been | :02:12. | :02:16.
working hard on this since the mediation process, and today we | :02:16. | :02:21.
have reached a situation where the papers have been signed. But if you | :02:21. | :02:26.
live along the route, the good news of work resuming is also the bad | :02:26. | :02:30.
news. Potentially more so if you have a business there. Remedial | :02:30. | :02:36.
work on Princes Street will resume this weekend. This is what Burley a | :02:36. | :02:40.
tram works looked and sounded like. Business leaders are urging the | :02:40. | :02:43.
council to get it right this time. We need to know when the work is | :02:43. | :02:47.
starting, when it is finishing, what we can expect outside and what | :02:47. | :02:52.
relief measures are in place across the city. Among City residents, the | :02:52. | :02:56.
news met with mixed reaction. going to cause chaos again across | :02:56. | :03:02.
the street, but they have gone this far, so we have to finish the job. | :03:02. | :03:06.
There will be yet more a people, I imagine. I just hope eventually, | :03:06. | :03:09.
when we do get them, that they function -- there will be more | :03:10. | :03:14.
upheaval. This morning's agreement clears the way for work to | :03:14. | :03:19.
hopefully be completed by the estimated date of Sammut 2014. | :03:19. | :03:24.
Certainly, few city residents think that the remaining few years of the | :03:24. | :03:29.
project could be as troubled as the last three -- Sammut 2014. | :03:29. | :03:31.
At Holyrood there's a fresh row over pensions, the issue | :03:31. | :03:37.
threatening to provoke widespread strikes by public sector workers. | :03:37. | :03:40.
The First Minister disclosed he was warned by the Treasury in London | :03:40. | :03:42.
that he's facing financial penalties if he attempts to delay | :03:42. | :03:45.
higher pension contributions for Scottish workers. But his critics | :03:45. | :03:52.
say it's all bluster. Our Political Editor Brian Taylor has the details. | :03:52. | :03:56.
Pensions for NHS staff and teachers, for police and firefighters, they | :03:56. | :04:00.
come under the control of Scottish ministers because of devolution, | :04:00. | :04:05.
but like other public sector staff they face a hike in their pension | :04:05. | :04:09.
contributions from next April and the UK government plans. Alex | :04:09. | :04:14.
Salmond thinks the proposal is cack-handed when many public sector | :04:14. | :04:18.
staff are facing a pay freeze but has been warned by the Treasury of | :04:18. | :04:23.
financial penalties if he attempts to delay the increase in Scotland. | :04:23. | :04:27.
An extraordinary letter, even a threatening one. He read out an | :04:27. | :04:31.
extract from the Treasury letter. would have to reduce the Scottish | :04:31. | :04:36.
government budget by 8.4 million for every delay of a month. You can | :04:36. | :04:40.
call that letter many things, but it doesn't seem to be liberal or | :04:40. | :04:45.
democratic. But critics say that this is bluster from the First | :04:45. | :04:48.
Minister to cover his government's failure to confront the need to cut | :04:48. | :04:54.
costs. All he is interested in is picking a fight rather than seeking | :04:54. | :04:58.
a resolution to the public sector pensions problem for the whole of | :04:58. | :05:02.
the UK. We need a resolution to this. We have been dodging and | :05:02. | :05:06.
delaying for months and we should get on with the job. This row | :05:06. | :05:08.
emerges as the Scottish government prepares to disclose its detailed | :05:08. | :05:16.
budget plans next week. Expect two key elements. They will try to | :05:16. | :05:19.
sustain capital spending as well as additional use of the non-profit | :05:19. | :05:23.
distributing model to leave a controlled investment from the | :05:23. | :05:27.
private sector, and we can also expect widespread structural reform | :05:27. | :05:31.
and the public sector itself, building on a model of single fire | :05:31. | :05:35.
on police services. You're watching Reporting Scotland | :05:35. | :05:42.
from the BBC. Still to come before seven. Is it time up for the sell- | :05:42. | :05:49.
by date on our food? In sport, Celtic finally kick-off their first | :05:49. | :05:53.
match of the Europa lead group stage. And a former Old firm's star | :05:54. | :05:58.
tells us why the fall-out after that infamous Old Firm derby of | :05:58. | :06:02.
last year was a big over-reaction. The former football commentator | :06:02. | :06:10.
David Francey has died at the age of 87. For two generations of fans, | :06:10. | :06:12.
David Francey's unmistakeable, and oft-impersonated voice was the | :06:12. | :06:16.
soundtrack to Scottish football throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s. | :06:16. | :06:19.
Before the era of regular, live TV coverage, his radio commentaries | :06:19. | :06:21.
for the BBC were essential Saturday afternoon listening in homes across | :06:21. | :06:31.
:06:31. | :06:34. | ||
the country. Reevel Alderson looks back on his career. It is all over! | :06:34. | :06:38.
The invasion has started as the Rangers fans come running on to the | :06:38. | :06:42.
park, and the players have to scamper to get off it. | :06:42. | :06:52.
distinctive voice of David Francey. It was a time when the Scottish | :06:52. | :06:55.
success could be reported. That voice was easily mimicked in | :06:55. | :07:01.
competitions. One particular chap just used the name of Jimmy Johnson. | :07:01. | :07:05.
He didn't say anything I said, just little Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Johnson. | :07:05. | :07:12.
A lovely cross by Jimmy Johnson. This was all he said. Anyway the | :07:12. | :07:21.
competition was judged, and I was 4th. It is a dull and cold day in | :07:22. | :07:27.
Dundee. At the voice was the soundtrack regeneration of football | :07:27. | :07:30.
supporters before ubiquitous television coverage. He was iconic | :07:30. | :07:36.
when I was growing up in Glasgow. If you're interested in football, | :07:36. | :07:40.
it wasn't the same media coverage you have now, you just add one | :07:40. | :07:44.
television. There were at the same amount of matches, so you had to | :07:44. | :07:49.
tune into the radio. You always remember his voice. Fellow | :07:49. | :07:52.
commentators acknowledged that his style changed the way football was | :07:52. | :07:57.
described. I think the Template he provided was be yourself. Don't | :07:57. | :08:04.
hold back. Let rip. Don't be trying to be orthodox if you don't feel | :08:04. | :08:09.
like it. And I think, perhaps, that is the lesson he has laid down for | :08:09. | :08:15.
future generations. You could sit in a house, or lie in the bath, | :08:15. | :08:19.
listen to the match and see it in my mind's eye. You always knew | :08:19. | :08:23.
where the ball was. That is not common these days. He was very | :08:23. | :08:26.
distinctive and enthusiastic. There was never a bad game commentated on | :08:26. | :08:34.
by him, everyone was a cracker. David Franci was 87 and commentated | :08:34. | :08:39.
on three Scottish clubs winning European trophies and on glory days | :08:39. | :08:41.
and then Park when the national team could qualify for the finals | :08:41. | :08:47.
of major competitions. -- and Hampden Park. The voice of David | :08:47. | :08:52.
Francey, who's died at the age of Scots in the Territorial Army are | :08:52. | :08:55.
taking part in a big training exercise to prepare for action in | :08:55. | :08:57.
Afghanistan. Exercise Scottish Buzzard is the first of its kind | :08:57. | :09:00.
since the recommendation that reservists should take on a bigger | :09:00. | :09:02.
role in front-line operations. Willie Johnston is in West Freugh | :09:02. | :09:12.
:09:12. | :09:17. | ||
With the army facing cuts, the Territorials will play a big | :09:17. | :09:22.
operational role, increasingly working and fighting across -- | :09:22. | :09:24.
alongside their full-time professionals, each equal of the | :09:24. | :09:28.
other. There are two big challenges in this, one is getting the | :09:28. | :09:31.
volunteers fighting fit and tactically aware, the other is | :09:31. | :09:35.
getting them up to operational strength. My report contains some | :09:35. | :09:42.
scenes you may find disturbing. It is the dawn of a new-age for the | :09:42. | :09:45.
Territorial Army. Now eight integral and important part of UK | :09:45. | :09:49.
frontline forces. It is light years from the weekend warrior image of | :09:49. | :09:55.
all. Today's reservists join up knowing they will see the harsh | :09:56. | :09:58.
realities of war. That is why training is as realistic as | :09:58. | :10:08.
:10:08. | :10:09. | ||
The soldiers do not know in advance that the blood covered casualties | :10:09. | :10:13.
in the medical evaluation exercise of real life and duties. It is | :10:13. | :10:17.
shockingly authentic. We have had the odd guy a faint or throw up. | :10:17. | :10:21.
Some of the guys have seen injuries like it before, but don't expect it | :10:21. | :10:24.
in a trading environment. It is important to get used to seeing the | :10:24. | :10:27.
sort of things, because they will be deployed out to Afghanistan and | :10:27. | :10:31.
this is the sort of injury they will deal with. Here they are | :10:31. | :10:34.
simulating close combat. The Taliban have occupied a building | :10:34. | :10:39.
over there and these guys are going to come under fire. The key to this | :10:39. | :10:44.
is that they return fire only defensively, not offensively. | :10:45. | :10:49.
Taliban, if they are running away, they cannot be offensive, because | :10:49. | :10:53.
that is against the rules of engagement. The Territorials who | :10:53. | :10:56.
have fought side-by-side with professionals insist they can be | :10:56. | :11:03.
equals. I have seen it changed a lot, going from the Dad's Army, | :11:03. | :11:08.
weekend warriors, to professional people who do the job with the | :11:08. | :11:12.
regulars without complaints, so the regulars cannot even tell the | :11:12. | :11:17.
difference. Today's Territorial Army is still well below the | :11:17. | :11:23.
strength it needs for the new one army vision to work. We are trying | :11:23. | :11:28.
to fill it to full establishment, so that is some 30,000 trained, | :11:28. | :11:30.
available and deploy a bought Personnel and we have just less | :11:31. | :11:36.
than half and at the moment. -- personnel for deploy. That is a | :11:36. | :11:40.
short fall of nearly 16,000 across the UK. These men are preparing to | :11:40. | :11:45.
leave these bases and head for an old ammunitions factory. The | :11:45. | :11:48.
terrain and the buildings there are relevant and very symbolic of an | :11:48. | :11:53.
Afghan village. For the next 48 hours, they will be fighting for | :11:53. | :11:57.
our hearts and minds of Afghan civilians and potentially battling | :11:57. | :12:02.
for their lives against Taliban are hostile forces. The exercise | :12:02. | :12:04.
commanders say that the whole thing is as realistic as they could | :12:04. | :12:13.
possibly make it, and ultimately, Fuel distributors in the Western | :12:13. | :12:17.
Isles are being accused of hiking prices for petrol and diesel. The | :12:17. | :12:21.
price of a lighter -- litre of diesel in Stornoway stands at more | :12:21. | :12:29.
than one pound 50. The rise comes as a UK scheme to cap prices got | :12:29. | :12:36.
the go-ahead this weekend. After a potentially good news at | :12:36. | :12:42.
the beginning of the week of the 5p cut in fuel taxes, then we have the | :12:42. | :12:49.
price rise of between three and 4p. Council convener Alec MacDonald | :12:49. | :12:53.
says this is no coincidence. He points to the fact that when Danny | :12:53. | :12:57.
Alexander came to the Western Isles earlier this summer, when he was | :12:57. | :13:04.
expected to cut the fuel duty, prices went up a as well. He says | :13:04. | :13:07.
that things are linked. Whenever there is an announcement saying the | :13:07. | :13:11.
cuts are on the way, the fuel distributors seem to be raising | :13:11. | :13:16.
their prices in order to protect profits. He does not blame the | :13:16. | :13:21.
local retailers, they say they have to adopt the prices sent down by | :13:21. | :13:28.
the market. It comes -- Kandola Macdonald says the distributors, | :13:28. | :13:32.
especially Scottish deals, are to blame. We tried to talk to them | :13:32. | :13:36.
today but they did not come back to us. Mr Brynn Gunn also said he | :13:36. | :13:42.
wants the government to step in once again. He is great for Fort | :13:42. | :13:47.
Danny Alexander's interest in the issue, but the 5p Cup has been on | :13:47. | :13:57.
:13:57. | :13:57. | ||
an old. -- annulled. He expects the government to take action very soon | :13:57. | :14:03.
on this. Care homes in Scotland are facing | :14:03. | :14:10.
at least one unannounced visits from inspectors every year. The | :14:10. | :14:15.
mood is designed to toughen up the current system after what people | :14:15. | :14:20.
described as a tragic failure of care at the Elsie Inglis care home. | :14:20. | :14:23.
Police are investigating the deaths of two residents. | :14:23. | :14:28.
Thursday afternoon at this care home means dominoes. It is an | :14:28. | :14:31.
example of how our elderly population should expect to be | :14:31. | :14:35.
looked after. The council-run home will inspected in February and | :14:35. | :14:42.
awarded five stars. It is just like one big family. I get on well with | :14:42. | :14:49.
the staff. When I came here, first of all, I was made very welcome. | :14:49. | :14:52.
Earlier this year were relations were relaxed so it most care homes | :14:52. | :14:57.
would only be inspected every two years. Now that has changed, and | :14:57. | :15:00.
all homes will have one unannounced visit every year with follow-up | :15:00. | :15:09.
checks. There will continue to be continual risk based inspections, | :15:09. | :15:17.
intended to assess the quality of care. It is the sort of thing which | :15:17. | :15:21.
happened here at Elsie Inglis care home in Edinburgh that has prompted | :15:21. | :15:25.
such swift action from the government. It was inspected last | :15:25. | :15:29.
October and given a four-star rating by inspectors. Just six | :15:29. | :15:33.
months later, it was given the lowest rating possible and forced | :15:33. | :15:36.
to close in May. Police say they are still months away from | :15:36. | :15:40.
completing an investigation into the deaths of two former residents. | :15:40. | :15:43.
As well as more inspections, the Health Secretary wants people to | :15:44. | :15:49.
more make more use of the complaints system. It will not | :15:49. | :15:52.
necessarily mean that there will not be any problems at all in care | :15:52. | :15:56.
services in the future, that would be a little ambitious. I think it | :15:56. | :16:01.
is part of helping the situation. There are also reassurances of | :16:01. | :16:05.
resident of Southern Cross Care Homes, but almost all their homes | :16:05. | :16:10.
have been transferred to new owners following the financial collapse of | :16:10. | :16:18.
the company this year. Scottish trawlers landed 435 | :16:18. | :16:23.
million worth of fish last year according to new figures. The new | :16:23. | :16:28.
Scottish statistics showed 367,000 tonnes of fish were brought ashore. | :16:28. | :16:35.
But the fleet was the smallest ever recorded, with 2150 fishing boats. | :16:35. | :16:39.
A firm has been fined more than 112,000 after the death of a | :16:39. | :16:45.
worker who was crushed in a potato harvester. Keith Wannan died in a | :16:45. | :16:51.
farm near Cupar in 2009. He was trapped in the role as for almost | :16:51. | :16:55.
an hour. The firm admitted breaking health and safety regulations. | :16:55. | :17:00.
The brother of a woman murdered by her husband has handed in a 6000 | :17:00. | :17:06.
petition signature petition to the Scottish Parliament. Peter Morris, | :17:06. | :17:09.
whose sister Claire was killed by Malcolm Webster, wants to raise | :17:09. | :17:14.
awareness of greater support for victims of crime and their families. | :17:14. | :17:17.
We are building fewer conservatories and home extensions, | :17:17. | :17:21.
yet if you want to make changes to your home, it is not getting any | :17:21. | :17:25.
quicker to get planning permission despite big changes to the system a | :17:25. | :17:29.
couple of years ago. Those changes were meant to speed up the process | :17:29. | :17:36.
for most of us. It is now two years since those big | :17:36. | :17:38.
changes stick to the planning system came into place, with their | :17:38. | :17:43.
aim of trying to speed things up. That could have helped the economy | :17:43. | :17:47.
and meant better value for us all a tax payers. A new report suggests | :17:47. | :17:57.
:17:57. | :17:59. | ||
there is little chance of this happening. For more controversial | :17:59. | :18:06.
plans, waiting for a decision can still be a real frustration. | :18:06. | :18:10.
This man wanted to extend his animal sanctuary, but the council | :18:10. | :18:16.
would not let him. So he appeals to the government. He got the green | :18:16. | :18:20.
light this week, but he is still disgruntled with the system. | :18:20. | :18:23.
Extremely stressful. There is no common sense in the whole process | :18:23. | :18:27.
that they put through. There does not need to be all of the baroque | :18:27. | :18:32.
for see you go through, -- bureaucracy you go through, it is | :18:33. | :18:38.
actually very upsetting. Bigger businesses can get frustrated as | :18:38. | :18:41.
well. Big house builders are not convinced the changes are | :18:41. | :18:47.
beneficial. We still have a system which needs to be more predictable | :18:47. | :18:53.
and proportionate in its approach. Today's report does offer some | :18:53. | :19:03.
:19:03. | :19:05. | ||
praise for beef Scottish -- the planning system. It says many | :19:05. | :19:10.
things are working together better. But the sting in the tell his cost. | :19:10. | :19:13.
The drop in planning applications it means that these are producing | :19:13. | :19:18.
for the councils, so that they have to make more investment into the | :19:18. | :19:21.

How closely do you look at the cell by or best before date on food | :19:31. | :19:38.

the state because too many people think the food is unsafe to eat. | :19:43. | :19:47.
It is still fresh, but no one wants to buy this food because it is too | :19:47. | :19:51.
close to its sell-by date. Most of Scotland's surplus food end up in | :19:51. | :19:58.
the bin, but not this stuff. It will feed more than 1000 people in | :19:58. | :20:04.
Edinburgh today. We do redistribute 9p of -- read we distributed nine | :20:04. | :20:13.

Edinburgh admit that sell-by dates admit the way -- changed the way | :20:51. | :20:56.

oldest dates up at the front. Supermarket will always end up with | :21:03. | :21:06.
enough surplus food to supply charities like this one. But | :21:06. | :21:09.
scrapping sell-by date can help prevent so much more of it ending | :21:09. | :21:18.

Celtic kick off their first group match of the Europa League campaign | :21:21. | :21:26.
in just over an hour's time, away from -- away to Atletico Madrid. | :21:26. | :21:36.
Neil Lennon's team are only in the side after the first Swiss team FC | :21:36. | :21:40.
Sion were kicked out for fielding ineligible players. | :21:40. | :21:43.
Just two days after this tie was confirmed, the Celtic fans who have | :21:43. | :21:47.
travelled have taken over their little corner of the Spanish | :21:47. | :21:51.
capital. Only a few hundred are here, perhaps unsurprising given | :21:51. | :21:58.
the uncertainty. We booked up last Thursday, we had an idea we were | :21:58. | :22:03.
coming. Tuesday, all day, I was checking the internet, checking | :22:03. | :22:10.
everything. I am glad we are here now. Celtic trained at the Stadium | :22:11. | :22:15.
last night. For them, it is a second chance in this competition. | :22:15. | :22:19.
So, has the air of certainty affected them? I think the squad | :22:19. | :22:29.
:22:29. | :22:30. | ||
has been focused being here. Neil Lennon was fairly philosophical | :22:30. | :22:33.
after the defeat to Sion. Now he is back in the competition and wants | :22:33. | :22:38.
to make the most of it, although he is realistic. In any other year, | :22:38. | :22:44.
this could be a Champions' League group. So I am hoping we are | :22:44. | :22:49.
qualifying. If we can maintain their home form we have shown over | :22:49. | :22:52.
the years, we have got a good chance. But our away form has to | :22:52. | :22:57.
improve. The manager is realistic, the fans are hope for, for now, | :22:57. | :23:00.
here in the sunshine, a party and beer will do. | :23:00. | :23:10.

A bit light from Celtic -- a big With the first Old Firm derby of | :23:11. | :23:15.

says there has been too much into - - interference in the fixture from | :23:20. | :23:24.
what he calls the PC brigade. The former Celtic striker Frank | :23:24. | :23:28.
McAvennie says despite Neil Lennon and Ally McCoist squaring up to | :23:28. | :23:32.
each other in front of the Old Firm derby last season, things are | :23:32. | :23:36.
actually getting better. It was perhaps the iconic image of | :23:36. | :23:41.
last season, and caused headlines around the world. Dubbed the shame | :23:41. | :23:46.
game, it caused such an outcry, it caused a summit convened by the | :23:46. | :23:49.
First Minister. For the former Celtic striker am Frank recommended, | :23:49. | :23:54.
it was all a massive -- Frank McAvennie, it has a massive over- | :23:54. | :23:59.
reaction. I think football should be kept out of football -- politics. | :24:00. | :24:04.
It is the so-called PC brigade that tries to jump in and wants to do | :24:04. | :24:08.
this and that, get involved in football. They should not get | :24:08. | :24:12.
involved. He was no shrinking violet himself. He was involved in | :24:12. | :24:18.
one of the most in fermenters Old Firm derbies of all time -- | :24:18. | :24:22.
infamous Old Firm derbies of all time. A lengthy legal inquiry | :24:22. | :24:26.
followed this and punishments were meted out. As for more recent | :24:26. | :24:29.
altercations, the former players are adamant lessons are being | :24:29. | :24:35.
learnt. Everyone is in check, they will be there, fully focused and | :24:35. | :24:40.
with a professional hat on. And learning from last year. I am not | :24:40. | :24:45.
sticking up for a meal or Ally McCoist. It got heated, it should | :24:45. | :24:52.
not have happened, and it could upset the supporters. But it didn't. | :24:52. | :24:56.
It was going back many years when we saw the riots, we have gone on | :24:56. | :25:01.
from there. These are sad and disgraceful scenes. | :25:01. | :25:09.
We are a long way from the fuelled riots of 30 years ago. Over- | :25:09. | :25:13.
reaction or not, the powers that be will be hoping the football is the | :25:13. | :25:16.
only battle this Sunday. Hibernian have appointed Billy | :25:16. | :25:21.
Brown as the new assistant manager, similar to the post he held at | :25:21. | :25:25.
heart. He left the club six weeks ago when he was sacked along with | :25:25. | :25:30.
manager Jim Jefferies. Now Colin Calderwood says Brown will be a | :25:30. | :25:34.
valuable addition to his backroom staff. He knows all of them, he | :25:34. | :25:38.
talks with them, I think he is a terrific guy. His knowledge and | :25:38. | :25:44.
experience, added to that experience, doing well in this | :25:44. | :25:47.
league is something that will be a terrific help to me and this | :25:48. | :25:53.
certainly the club. Christopher is smiling today, it | :25:53. | :26:02.
Beautiful September sunshine for many of us across the country today. | :26:02. | :26:06.
There was some stubborn cloud around the it North East, just | :26:06. | :26:11.
fading towards the end of the afternoon. Many places seeing blue | :26:11. | :26:15.
skies. Cloud is moving in tonight from the West, but it will stay dry | :26:15. | :26:22.
and cool. There will be some holes in the cloud, like last night, with | :26:22. | :26:27.
overnight lows down to around eight or nine degrees. One or two rural | :26:27. | :26:34.
spots will have a little bit lower temperatures than that. Into Friday, | :26:34. | :26:39.
it starts OK. It starts dry, but we have cloud and right and patchy | :26:39. | :26:44.
rain pushing in from the south and west. It is spreading in across the | :26:44. | :26:48.
country and up the east coast, and it will be turning heavier. By the | :26:48. | :26:53.
time we reached mid- afternoon, 4pm tomorrow, there will be heavy rain | :26:53. | :26:57.
across the south. Temperature taking a knock compared with today. | :26:57. | :27:03.
Freshening south-westerly breeze. A very different day to today. The | :27:03. | :27:07.
rain is with us along the east coast, but north and west, part of | :27:07. | :27:11.

this area of low pressure which shuffles in and sit there overhead | :27:29. | :27:34.
