The Scottish Labour Party's changing. | 0:00:02 | 0:00:03
We're going to come back stronger. We're going to come back better. | 0:00:03 | 0:00:05
We're going to come back even more proud of Scotland and her people. | 0:00:05 | 0:00:08
Well, after the election result we had in May, | 0:00:20 | 0:00:23
it was obvious we had to change. | 0:00:23 | 0:00:25
So we've been speaking to Party members and supporters across the whole of Scotland. | 0:00:25 | 0:00:28
We must use this review to strengthen the Labour Party, | 0:00:28 | 0:00:32
to pull us all together and make sure we campaign for everybody in Scotland. | 0:00:32 | 0:00:36
There's a huge worry about unemployment, either by people who are unemployed at the moment | 0:00:42 | 0:00:46
or people who are worried about losing their jobs. | 0:00:46 | 0:00:48
And there's a massive crisis in relation to youth unemployment. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:51
Kids are leaving school without any future - without getting | 0:00:51 | 0:00:54
into further or higher education and without getting a training apprenticeship. | 0:00:54 | 0:00:58
We haven't had this much youth unemployment in Scotland | 0:00:58 | 0:01:00
since the days of the Tories, so we need action from the Scottish government and we need it now. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:04
We've got to give them hope and opportunity. | 0:01:04 | 0:01:08
There's a worry about the recession. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:14
There's a worry about, is our country heading in the right direction, | 0:01:14 | 0:01:17
with the government that we have in Edinburgh, | 0:01:17 | 0:01:18
or the government that we have in London? | 0:01:18 | 0:01:20
And they want a strong Labour Party. | 0:01:20 | 0:01:23
It's our responsibility to make sure we have the ideas, the people, | 0:01:23 | 0:01:25
the vision, the passion and the patriotism and a sense that | 0:01:25 | 0:01:29
the next generation has the opportunity to do better than this generation. | 0:01:29 | 0:01:33
My message is pretty clear. The Scottish Labour Party is changing, | 0:01:33 | 0:01:37
changing again for the better, so it's again Scotland's Labour Party. | 0:01:37 | 0:01:41
We're proud to be Scottish, | 0:01:43 | 0:01:45
we're proud to have a Scottish Parliament | 0:01:45 | 0:01:47
and we're proud to have a Scottish Labour Party. | 0:01:47 | 0:01:50
Our challenge for the future is to make sure we set out a vision for Scotland, | 0:01:50 | 0:01:54
to make Scotland the best it can be - | 0:01:54 | 0:01:56
creating jobs, making the most of our industries | 0:01:56 | 0:01:58
and, crucially, making the most of our people | 0:01:58 | 0:02:00
cos that's what Scotland has in abundance - fantastic people | 0:02:00 | 0:02:04
and the Labour Party needs to be on their side. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:07
It's about saying that if a family works hard, | 0:02:07 | 0:02:08
abides by the rules, that we're on their side | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
and if someone breaks the rules, we'll be on their back | 0:02:11 | 0:02:14
because Scottish Labour stands up for the people who do the right thing in our country, | 0:02:14 | 0:02:18
who want to make our country stronger, | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
who care for their family and look after their neighbours | 0:02:20 | 0:02:23
and believe there is such a thing as a Scottish society. | 0:02:23 | 0:02:26
