This is the highest scoring weekend we have had so far in the SPL this

season. Six games, 18 goals. You will see them all in the next 45

minutes. You will hear from Dundee and score I think is the message

there. Dundee United take the lead. It's unbelievable! Going into this

win's games Celtic were the only SPL team still to drop a point. At

home to Peter's Dundee United they were looking to make it three wins

out of three. Both teams have suffered an early season injury

blow. Dundee United midfielder Scot's

season is already other. On top of Izaguirre's absence

Celtic were also without Kayal. Mulgrew started and skipper Scott

Brown was back after suspension. United replaced Severin with

Robertson and Peter gave a third start to 19-year-old Scott Allan.

Celtic's first home match of this SPL season. Two wins on the road.

Collins almost giving them the He was denied a moment ago, he

didn't have long to wait to get off the mark.

Flood, Dillon. Plenty of room for Dundee United out of virtually

nothing. It was a miscued shot here from the

minutes between Russell's goal and this Hooper header. Pernis just

couldn't keep it out. So close for Commons. Can't get much closer than

that. equaliser. Scott Brown. A

counterattack perhaps. Commons plenty of room. United on the

retreat. Wonderful chance, wonderful strike by Ki! No stopping

that from the Korean. Perfect pass pass.

Flood's corner. Deep for Kenneth. Kenneth certainly felt he did at

least. Kenneth trying to drive one in

again. Watson helps it back into the area. Russell diving to his

right. The goalkeeper wasn't taking any chances. Celtic on the counter

again. It's Hooper away from kicksen. -- Dixon. Just wide.

Hooper limps off. He's hurt himself. Another unhappy sight for Celtic

fans. Stokes. There's Ledley bundles it

into the net and Celtic are 4-1 in front and there's no doubt now

where the points are heading. Good play by Maloney. Watson and Ledley

that's good play and so close to a fifth for Celtic. Ki. Ledley takes

over, picks out For rest and into the net, he looked like he was

going to be pulled down in the box. It's a route for Celtic, 5-1. It

does sound like a route, Peter, but for big chunks of the game your

team was very competitive. We were, but you look at the goals we lost

actually and I just seen them again there for the first time and it

really disappointed me the fact we did create chances but we gave

goals away too easily. When you look at the first two from corner

kicks, we hardly lose half a dozen a season we lose two right away.

Celtic don't need a starting hand to get started and this fumble

stpbt help after a couple of minutes. It didn't because we would

be on the attack, but there's people not doing their jobs there.

We don't attack the ball. It's a free header and they're the first

to react to things. That's one of the disappointments of yesterday,

was the fact we didn't defend these corners, we didn't attack the ball

there. Russell has slightly switched off there. Three or four

Celtic players touched the ball before any United players and

there's plenty of United players there who could do something better

and Hooper outjumps Dillon. You are allowed to challenge for the ball

ball as well. You attack everything in front of you, some of the boys -

we will go through the DVD and they'll know who didn't do it. They

worked hard yesterday but the goals we lost were very soft. United were

always a threat going forward, Scott Allen was impressive again,

maybe not as good as he has been in the last couple of games but

Russell was a standout as well. have good young talents and getting

experience of playing in front of 50,000 fans, good play there from

Scott Allen getting Russell through and indeed if somebody took a

chance in the middle we might have had a tap-in there. But this is a

goal here. We get a break there and certainly from Kenneth, but Russell

has took a chance on it. Wilson hasn't and he's got an easy finish.

For a young player to score at Parkhead will give him and us a

boost. That was a good header from Russell and it pulled out a good

save from your former keeper. think it was 3-1 to Celtic and if

he had scored with a couple of these chances it would have brought

us back into the game and gave us a lift. In the end the later two

goals from Celtic, which were good goals, were poor from us and we

could have defended them better. Good football in the second half

but for the goal that made it 3-1, you were caught on the break.

was a ball, just too short there and you look at the amount of

jerseys forward there and they hit us on the counterattack. Dixon was

trying to get back, but you look at this, this is a quality finish from

a young player and there's no argument there. This is the one

that disappoints me. Paul gets too tight here. Kenneth allows Maloney

the first run and Ledley - there's three at the back four, should have

done better and it's a poor goal to lose. A game like this is not a big

factor in your season, is it? Most team also go to Celtic Park and

lose. Absolutely, you always want to go there and do well and losing

5-1 is not the nicest thing to do but I look at some of the goals and

they're preventable. We are a fairly young side, we have a lot to

learn but the experience they'll have gained, we will not face a

team like Celtic's quality every week and it's about everybody else

and every other team. I am looking forward to the rest of the season

and we will quickly bury that one. Looking forward to not seeing those

highlights again! Motherwell went into the fourth weekend of the SPL

season as league leaders. They were in Paisley to play St Mirren.

These are exciting times at Motherwell, top of the league, the

football is attractive and they haven't conceded a goal. The

wonderful football continues from Motherwell, but it would come up

against wonderful goalkeeping. St Mirren's Samson with a stop to deny

Murphy. And Samson would be in for a busy afternoon. Motherwell's Law

taking a laps in the defence but again Samson produced a stop to

keep Motherwell at bay. Top of the league Motherwell were

brimming with confidence in Paisley. Former St Mirren striker Higdon.

But showing again what a fine save from Samson. In the second half St

Mirren set about piercing the so far impregnable Motherwell defence.

Thompson with a chance. Motherwell Captain Craigan doing just enough.

At the other end Samson's work for the day was far from over. Heugdon

with a shot but Samson again more than a match.

It then all threatened to get slightly comical at the back for

Motherwell. Steve Jennings and Randolph getting in a muddle.

Thompson with the eventual slightly hopeful punt which sailed over the

bar. Samson was continuing the heroics,

batting away this effort from Forbes.

Then in injury time a moment of controversy. Teale judged to have

fouled. The From the free kick Samson would finally be beaten.

Hateley curling the ball home to win the match for Motherwell 1-0. I

hesitate to say Samson will be pulling his hair out but what an

afternoon for the goalkeeper. Homing in on a Man of the Match

performance, five fantastic saves we are going to show you here. Then

he gets it wrong at the free kick. Craig will be disappointed. He will

be watching this programme tonight and watching these fantastic saves,

everyone of them a fantastic save. The thing sticking in his mind is

the fact he moved to his right at the free kick and allowed the goal

to go in. It could have been more emphatic by the looks of it for

Motherwell who have shots on goal. If you look at the gap there. The

Motherwell player moves out of the gap. Samson slides to his right a

bit and as soon as you do that it's very difficult to get back over and

I think you see the disuponment when he punches the ball there and

so late in the game there's no way back. They've got that great

combination Motherwell, lots of pressure on goal, lots of attempts

on goal there and four clean sheets this season defensively. Yes, I

seen them against Inverness and they could have scored more goals

as well. They've good midfield. Good movement, Murphy is still a

threat. They've brought in Higdon. So all-round solid at the back,

creative in midfield and guys who can score goals as well. So it's a

knocking at the top six? They had to hold on in the second half when

they had ten men against us. They done it well. I was impressed. They

will be disa pointed not to take anything from a home match. They

will be up there challenging. Hearts were chasing their first

league win with Sergio taking charge in the SPL at Tynecastle for

the first time. The trip was sure to bring back unhappy memories to

Brown and Aberdeen who lost 5-0 with Paul Mitchell.

Plenty the box for the Dons. Rattles the bar. Considine looking

for it. The shot blocked. Aberdeen desperate for the first goal. It

came close. Tefpl ton, good play. - - temp done, good play. A free kick.

Aberdeen continue to protest. Scott Robinson. Grainger, he comes into

the path and that's great skill from Novikovas. Hearts took the

free quick -- free kick quickly. He scored for the first time since he

scored for the Dons in December 2010. Aberdeen looking hesitant

after losing the opening goal. Considine going through that time

on John Sutton. Sergio looking for the perfect vantage point. Danny

Grainger looking for goal. Gonzalez watched him all the way. Floated in

again. Again the goalkeeper shouted for it. Nearly turned over my

Marian Kello. He Juaned it. Arnason. Clips it in on the right foot.

Darren Mackie. Good chance for Aberdeen and for Darren Mackie.

Well constructed by Aberdeen. A little more heart and hope for

Craig Brown. Ryan Stephenson. Stephenson. It's deflected to

Templeton. Going past his man. John Sutton will score for the first

time as a Harts Hearts player. A simple tap-in. Rory Mccardle

couldn't hold off Templeton. Temp ton put it on the path of a striker

to score for the first time as a Hearts player. Hearts lead, 35

minutes gone. Hearts 2- Aberdeen 0. Too easy for Hearts to clear.

Sutton. On to Templeton. Playing to Templeton. Cuts inside. Saw the

glory. He continued his run from the midfield. Not impressed. He

came out to the left-hand side but Templeton went solo. From sitting

to standing, he's a nervous Bundle of energy. Hearts pushing again.

Looking for a way through. Templeton could come through to

Johnson. What a good finish from Johnson. Aberdeen failed to clear.

Robinson poked it through. And Sutton beat the goalkeeper and

touch it had past him. 52 2 minutes gone. More misery for the Dons as

Hearts go three ahead. Leaving via exit 1, it's not their day. -- exit

Hearts trying to get behind their side. They are enjoying this three,

nothing. Taken down by Fyvie. It fell for Fraser Fyvie. Similar

position to where Novikovas scored in the first half but it finished

less true. Hearts beat Aberdeen here 5-0 here in December. They are

looking for another. It was Templeton. Just didn't get it quite

cleanly enough. Gone zal ez in the end happy to see this land in his

arms -- gone Gonzalez. Good fall for Skacel. Been by far the busier

goalkeeper, David Gonzalez. A mixed bag for Hearts this season so far,

Peter. Not helped by your team winning at Tynecastle. They should

be up there hanging on the old firm coat tails because of the budget

they have? They have a big budget. I think they will be. I think most

teams out with the old firm will find it very difficult to get

points at Tynecastle. We were fortunate we got them early in the

season when they were not at it yet. It was great to win there. You look

at the game yesterday. Aberdeen had chances. Hit the bar before Hearts

wept in front. When things go against you sometimes like that, it

could have been Aberdeen one in in front. What helps every team is to

have a player which gets on the end of moves and put s balls in the net.

John Sutton can do it? Good strikers follow things out. John

Sutton's in there. He goes in and gets the easiest goal he'll ever

get. He's alert, bright, slides in there. That's on Sutton for you.

That's what he did at Motherwell? He did it all of his career. He's

great in the air but also very good on the ground. Here's a goal

against us. He won the ball, header, attacking the ball in the air. He's

very good. Getting across the front of defenders. He's done

exceptionally well across the defender as well. Slips it in. He

has an art to scoring goals. These guys are invaluable in your team.

depressing start to the season for the Aberdeen supporters. It is four

games, no goals, one point. You start put pressure on yourself,

even in this early stage of the season if you don't start picking

up? He need to start picking up points. Just that wee break, that

ball hitting the bar. It could easily have gone in. Darn Mackie

when he finds his feet is a goal scorer. It could be a soft goal, a

soft own goal which gets them up and running. They need a wee break

here and there. As it goes on, it always becomes a worry. Kenny

Shiels has grown tired of reminders Hibs haven't won. -- Kilmarnock

Wotherspoon. Through to Gary O'Connor. O'Connor tries the shot.

Finds of side net. He's scored for Hibs from Inverness to give them

three points. Bright start. Bell, pushes it out wide. Kilmarnock like

to play from the back. McEwan. Heffernan has a chance here for

Kilmarnock. In side three minutes Paul Heffernan scores for the first

time for Kilmarnock. Taken out with a single pass. They couldn't get

there. Played it first time beyond the Hibs goalkeeper. The former

Sheffield Wednesday man Haskell marpb ok ahead. -- has Kilmarnock

ahead. Wotherspoon on to Gary O'Connor. Inside O'Leary. O'Connor,

that's clever. That's the equaliser. They were lax at the back.

Wotherspoon played it on to a corner. What a terrific way for

Hibs to get back into the match. O'Connor cuts inside of the

defender, saw the goalkeeper. What a slick finish. Gets Hibs level.

Great skill from Gary O'Connor. Meant it all the way. When they

come off, they look fantastic. Gary Hart settled in here at rugby park.

Stephens misses it. Stack with the save. How son too went to ground.

The goalkeeper here, central defender causing the problem. Good

save with the feet. Stephenson dispossessed. Kelly with the tackle.

It's another lovely ball. There's another chance here. Heffernan.

Past Stack. Can he get the finish away? The goalkeeper tracked him

down before Heffernan, 29-year-old Irishman, already looking by a very

good pick-up from Kenny Shiels. Looking for his first SPL win. This

the 11th time he's taken charge of Kilmarnock. Balls out long on to

Dayton. Booth comes out. Twisting, turning, gets it across. It is an

own goal. After the wing wizardry of Number Ten, James day ton, it is

passed to prefection and Dayton drove one way, then the other,

little back heel to make space. Plenty of danger behind him but it

is the Hibs number four who nets for Kilmarnock. That's launched

long. Heffernan, again, picked up and gathers. Plenty of support.

Good play from kill marpb ok. Clumsy from Wotherspoon. --

Kilmarnock. He's on a yellow card. He dragged down Booth. Fortunate to

escape any further punishment. Shiels and Dayton. It's Dayton who

goes for it. And rattles it into the top corner to extend

Kilmarnock's lead. The wall was going to be that side. All Graham

Stack could do was watch it. It has been a great afternoon for James

Dayton and he now has a goal. Hibs simply have not been at their best.

Kilmarnock occasionally erratic, overall, their passing, like now,

has been terrific. Dayton to Heffernan. 4-1 Kilmarnock. A double

for Paul Heffernan. It really has been at times this simple. Sent

across in between the defenders, hit it first time. Graham Stack had

little chance in the Hibs goal. Dispossessed. Gallan trying to show

what he can do. Could pull it back. This for the hat trick.

Unbelievable. He scored the hard ones and misses the easy one. Paul

Heffernan looks to the skies as he ski ed this one off the bar. It

should have been three for the number 14. You'd hope more people

would turn up to watch Kilmarnock. They play a refreshing style of

football. It hasn't really changed now that Kenny Shiels's come in?

They try to play the same way. They are entertaining. Hard workinging,

mobile, create lots of chances. I'm pleased for Kenny Shiels to get his

first victory as a manager. Many more to come. You know about Paul

Heffernan from your time at Leicester? I watched him playing

for Doncaster. He played for Sheffield Wednesday as well. He's a

goal scorer. He scored goals with every team he's played for. Poor

defending, still has to be finished. One on on one with the goalkeeper

is great. He has some presence about him for a small player. He

seems to get into good positions? He will be disappointed he didn't

hit the ball when he first got it there. Good strikers always take

chances. They are always thinking it will go in. That's what he's

done here. A quality finish. Great movement. He's anticipating the

ball will go in there. A fantastic goal. This had to be the hat trick,

didn't it? He'll be sitting tonight wonder ing why he didn't get that

hat trick. One Kilmarnock player who didn't see much of last season

was James Dayton. He had a really bad injury. He's back, fit, sharp.

Looks like he's got his pace back. His trickery. He's a handful?

a very good player. I remember seeing him early last season before

he got his injury. He can go on the outside, inside. The sign of a good

player is he's predominantly left- footed. He looks to create chances.

He gets the ball in the box. From this here, he's a one on one with

the defender. He thinks he's going on his left foot, back on his right

and slams it across. That's what can happen. Charlie Adam did the

same the other week for Scotland. There you go, puts the ball in.

Paul Hanlon has to try to stick a foot out. Got himself a goal.

ball into the box which Kirk turned into the net to put Dunfermline 1-0

in front. The Northern Ireland striker with his third SPL goal of

the season. In the second half Dunfermline

almost doubled their lead. Former St Onstone favourite Hardy coming

close with a header. Desperate for an equaliser St John

Johnstone. Surely Jason Thomson had been the covering player in the

defence. Regular penalty taker hraoepl Craig was given

responsibility and this would be a big moment.

Saints desperately need someone to score goals. David Robertson close,

but not close enough. A valuable 1- 0 away win.

You have Dunfermline next weekend. I was doing their first game in the

SPL for Radio Scotland, you were at that match as well. I watched them

that night and thought they didn't have a lot about them. But they've

played well since. They have played well since. They didn't play

particularly well on the night. First match nerves got them, but

they've come on a ton. Fair credit to them, it's a great result to win

at McDermott. They'll be without Potter next weekend, because surely

they're going to appeal against this. I have to be honest and say

that for me to send a player off for that is rather silly. I don't -

it's a penalty kick, trailing legs, and Thomson's coming in behind to

clear the ball and I think that's one of the most harsh red cards we

have seen. Sandaza was keen to take that. To be fair to Liam Craig

Sandaza has missed penalties for United. Liam stepped up. He's hit

it and I think the goalkeeper got to take great credit for that

because that's a fantastic hand on that and it's over the bar. He went

the same way as he did on the opening night against St Mirren.

saves throughout the match as well. Fair play to him. From what I have

seen Inverness performances have been better than results. They knew

they'd have it tough in the first match of the SPL weekend against

Jelavic. It's not going to count. He is offside. The linesman had the

is an argument to say he is still onside. Let-off for Terry Butcher

three minutes into the game. Off the wall. That was Ness. It took a

deflection on its way through. Ness, first appearance of the

season. It's a good header away by Tokely.

Plenty of height on that. Now the counterattack could be on. He is

burning away from Ness. A great position. You got to credit Ortiz

there. Easy run from Edu. There is a shout for handball there.

Hasn't been Jelavic's day so far. Up went Hogg's arm.. That's a great

ball to set up Doran, who fires it in. And that was Foran inches away.

Anything on that you are probably expecting that to go into the net.

Naysmith. Couldn't quite find Edu. Again it's not given. This has come

off two arms. There was the first. Off Jones and the second off Tokely.

Inverness have been defending stoutly. This is Naysmith. It's a

penalty. Tokely certainly got the ball here and he has to go, if the

referee's given the foul which he has. Tokely will be sent off.

Inverness will be down to ten. Rangers have a penalty. It's the

double whamly, which so many managers want changed. Many feel a

yellow would be sufficient punishment for the offender.

Jelavic looking for a third of the season and he gets it. Even if

Esson goes the right way he is struggling to save this penalty.

Right in the corner. Frustration for Terry Butcher and

frustration for Rangers for most of the game before they went in front.

Right over to the back post. It's another penalty. He points to the

spot again. Rangers get a second penalty here.

They may well on another day have had four. Terry Butcher not happy

turns in the rebound. Esson will be gutted because that is a superb

save, came straight back to Edu, he reacted first and that's his reward.

Rangers will surely take the points. get it on to his left foot. He got

away from Hogg, he was out of the card here. It will be ten against

ten. Just 15 minutes to go. You feel the damage has already been

done. Edu sent off. A wasn't a game short on talking points, was it? At

half-time Rangers felt hard done by, by decisions they felt had gone

against them, starting with this offside. I have to be honest, I

have seen it a few times now, I think Edu - I think he was offside.

He was not there, but as soon as he touches it here I think with the

shades of grass there. Is the assistant in line? Probably a

couple of yards behind, I don't think they can keep up with the

pace. I honestly believe at the camera angle it shows you, I think

jel aslick jel -- srel aVic is -- Jelavic is offside. Handball by

Chris Hogg, could this have been given? I think they'll be very soft,

I don't think he's deliberately put his hand to the ball. He went to

href himself up and it's hit his arm. Similar to this as well. It

will be very soft if penalties were given for this, because I don't

think for a minute he has tried to handle it. Perhaps Tokely's arm

went out slightly but the referee is in a good position and if he

felt it was deliberate he would have given it. Rangers did get two

penalties in the second half, this one against Tokely's challenge. Did

he get the ball? I think he got the ball as well. The other thing that

baffles me is the referee's position, how can he see that?

That's where we have to work with the assistant. Perhaps he's never

looked at his assistant but he boned to the spot. --. He pointed

to the spot. The ball did change direction. I

think that's a soft penalty and he is right, it's a double whammy

because again sent off and for this to be a penalty kick, where are we

going with the game now. He never looked once at the Rangers player.

It's a coming together of two players and that's very soft indeed

and you can understand why big big Terry would be disappointed with

that. Penalty kick saved well with the goalkeeper. If you look at the

Inverness players going in to challenge the ball and they stop.

You always tell players at either end, follow things in, in case the

goalkeeper doesn't save. I think Terry had to be sedated after that

second penalty was given. A word about Rangers and Celtic and Hearts

going into European football, the Europa League play-offs this week.

You were wishing Dundee United were still involved. How do you think

they'll do? I think they'll do well. Rangers and Celtic, Rangers are

improving under Ally McCoist. I think they'll make more signings.

Celtic an excellent side, I think they're growing. They've had a

season more or less the same players, and Hearts are getting

better as the season went on after a slow start. For Scottish football

I wish they all could get through to the qualifying stages. Good luck

to all three in the Europa League. Let's look at the Clydesdale bank

on Wednesday than at Celtic Park yesterday. Scotland gave themselves

a boost ahead of the euro qualifiers. Driving it in and

finding the net. That's a better delivery and he's found the net.

Just what they wanted. Scotland continue to make really

encouraging progress under the management. Craig's got a squad

together now that are comfortable in possession of the ball and if

you look at the game the other night what you have to remember is

we are thot going to have the ball all the time and tight teams like

Denmark, Czech Republic will have spells where they're going to pass

it. When we get the ball we have to make sure we retan possession and

create chances and I felt the other night it's very promising because

we did. It seemed like the right opposition to pick, because good

though the Czech Republic are in our next competitive match, can

they be better than Denmark? It's hard to say, Denmark - sorry Czech

Republic lost heavily against Norway, but I know there's players

missing from that squad and there is a qualifying place. It will be a

difficult game. We played them in March in a pre-season friendly, one

of Craig's first games and when Craig first took over and it was a

difficult game. We won 1-0 that night and I will be delighted if we

can get a similar result. Four games in quick succession, is it

important we set the tone against the Czeches? We have to win against

the Czech Republic. That's our aim. The players are keen and looking

forward to it. The season will have started, but players will have more

games under their belt. It's one to look forward to and with a big

crowd there I think we can do it. Good luck with that. Let's hope you
