Good evening, welcome to the the BBC news at six. | :00:00. | :00:09.
Good evening, welcome to the programme. Why Guernsey's set to | :00:10. | :00:13.
earn millions for hosting private planes, and why it's causing a rift | :00:14. | :00:18.
with its Island neighbour. We feel it is in a pro`pre` at that Guernsey | :00:19. | :00:25.
should seek to brand themselves as the Channel Islands, because it | :00:26. | :00:32.
is... Also tonight, calls for better | :00:33. | :00:36.
services for adults with autism And pricey plates. Find out how much | :00:37. | :00:40.
it costs to have this number on your car. It cost too much money! Oh my | :00:41. | :00:45.
giddy aunt! That is phenomenal! Guernsey's new aircraft registry was | :00:46. | :00:59.
launched today, and it's predicted to make the Island millions. It | :01:00. | :01:02.
means private pilots from around the world can register their jets there, | :01:03. | :01:05.
instead of places like the UK and America. But it's already causing a | :01:06. | :01:08.
rift, with Jersey States considering legal action, as Penny Elderfield | :01:09. | :01:12.
reports. There's something that sets this | :01:13. | :01:19.
plane apart from the rest. Its Guernsey registration. This private | :01:20. | :01:23.
jet is one of the first to register with the new Channel Islands Air | :01:24. | :01:26.
Registry, which was launched here today. A new venture to bring more | :01:27. | :01:29.
business to the Island, and potentially millions of pounds. It | :01:30. | :01:37.
does provide income for Guernsey, but also, this is going to get | :01:38. | :01:41.
massive publicity amongst the general aviation community and in | :01:42. | :01:45.
the world generally. If it brings those people into the island, who | :01:46. | :01:50.
will spend money in our hotels, spend money on other things, it has | :01:51. | :01:56.
got to be good for Guernsey, and this is diversification. It is | :01:57. | :01:59.
really exciting. It is a very visual product. But at the moment, it could | :02:00. | :02:04.
potentially cost Guernsey States money in legal bills, as Jersey | :02:05. | :02:07.
States aren't ruling out legal action to challenge the fact it s | :02:08. | :02:10.
called the Channel Islands Registry, when they're not involved. Even | :02:11. | :02:13.
though they passed on the opportunity to work together on it. | :02:14. | :02:18.
They plan to launch their own registry next year. We thought it | :02:19. | :02:24.
was inappropriate, that is why we have made representations. I have | :02:25. | :02:29.
written to the member in Guernsey to talk about the branding, we think it | :02:30. | :02:33.
would be confusing and misleading to the marketplace. There's a lot of | :02:34. | :02:36.
talk about Guernsey and Jersey working closer together to save | :02:37. | :02:39.
money. But in a competitive world, perhaps this is an example of why | :02:40. | :02:43.
you can't always be friends with your neighbours. | :02:44. | :02:46.
So who owns the phrase Channel Islands and do they even really | :02:47. | :02:50.
exist? The islands have separate governments, legal systems, post | :02:51. | :02:52.
codes, and does anyone really consider themselves a Channel | :02:53. | :02:55.
Islander? Edward Sault has been finding out. | :02:56. | :03:00.
Proud to fly their flags at the opening ceremony of this year's | :03:01. | :03:05.
Island Games as separate islands. Even if they wanted to, there is no | :03:06. | :03:10.
Channel Island flag to fly. And no`one we asked today said they were | :03:11. | :03:18.
a Channel Islander. Do you say you are from Jersey or the Channel | :03:19. | :03:26.
Islands? Jersey. Are you from the Channel Islands or Guernsey? | :03:27. | :03:34.
Guernsey, firstly. I am from Guernsey, always will be. So what | :03:35. | :03:38.
does the term mean and why does it need protecting? There is no | :03:39. | :03:44.
ownership per se of the name, but people protect brand by having a | :03:45. | :03:49.
trademark, and traditionally it has been difficult to register | :03:50. | :03:52.
trademarks as geographical indicators, and that is what this | :03:53. | :03:56.
is, a geographical indicator, it is the aircraft registry coming from | :03:57. | :04:02.
the Channel Islands. But there are things that the Channel Islands | :04:03. | :04:06.
share, and as far back as the 1 th century, they both had the same | :04:07. | :04:14.
Lieutenant Governor. The title, they were persuaded to give it up, and | :04:15. | :04:18.
Jersey and Guernsey get their own governor, so for the first time | :04:19. | :04:21.
there is that separation, so you could say, for the best part of a | :04:22. | :04:26.
few hundred years, they accessed it as a different entity. Map makers | :04:27. | :04:34.
often recognise the Channel Islands as a 'collection of features' | :04:35. | :04:37.
although this popular one doesn t. But search a little further online | :04:38. | :04:40.
and you'll find these Channel Islands off the coast of the United | :04:41. | :04:44.
States, I wonder who owns the rights to use their name? | :04:45. | :04:47.
A 20`year`old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after falling | :04:48. | :04:50.
from a bridge in Jersey. She fell from the under pass between the | :04:51. | :04:54.
tunnel and Victoria Avenue at 3 15 on Sunday morning. Police are trying | :04:55. | :04:57.
to trace witnesses. More than ?19,000 has been raised | :04:58. | :05:02.
for Jersey's Christmas Appeal. An auction on BBC Radio Jersey | :05:03. | :05:04.
yesterday aims to help vulnerable islanders. The money raised goes | :05:05. | :05:07.
towards food hampers, food and fuel vouchers, and toys for those most in | :05:08. | :05:10.
need. There are calls for better care for | :05:11. | :05:14.
adults with autism in Jersey. An independent advisor described the | :05:15. | :05:16.
current services available as "well below those offered to children . | :05:17. | :05:20.
Autism and Asperger's syndrome can cause problems with social | :05:21. | :05:22.
interaction, language skills and physical behaviour. An estimated one | :05:23. | :05:26.
thousand islanders are affected and Emma Chambers went to meet a man | :05:27. | :05:38.
dedicated to changing their lives. I have to stop and restructure my | :05:39. | :05:41.
thinking and then I start from the beginning and I go over each concern | :05:42. | :05:45.
clarifying it and repeating it three times each. | :05:46. | :05:48.
An insight into how Joe's mind works. He has Asperger's. His | :05:49. | :05:51.
condition wasn't helped by the poor care he says he received in the UK, | :05:52. | :05:54.
a service not tailor`made to his needs. Now he works for Research | :05:55. | :05:58.
Autism and was invited over to Jersey this week to help advise | :05:59. | :06:01.
politicians and health officials on the care adults with social and | :06:02. | :06:05.
communication difficulties need There was nothing out there really | :06:06. | :06:09.
in the way for support, so in a lot of my life even now, the support's | :06:10. | :06:13.
not there so I've had to crash through life and get on with it And | :06:14. | :06:17.
I'm hoping other people won't have to. You know it doesn't bother me | :06:18. | :06:20.
what's happened to me in the past, as that's gone, but it bothers me | :06:21. | :06:24.
when people in the present and the future, those mistakes are still | :06:25. | :06:27.
happening and that's not acceptable. What's happened to me can't be | :06:28. | :06:30.
undone but it shouldn't be happening to generations now. And it's hoped | :06:31. | :06:34.
it won't be, as steps are now being made to improve the care provided in | :06:35. | :06:38.
Jersey. Rather than the old approach of an institutionalised approach to | :06:39. | :06:41.
care, this is about enabling people to take control of their own lives | :06:42. | :06:45.
to live within the community and really to design a package of | :06:46. | :06:48.
support services which works for them. The Health Department say this | :06:49. | :06:56.
change is achievable but will depend on other states departments. There | :06:57. | :07:02.
are things that will practically happen like the changes in the | :07:03. | :07:05.
benefit now that will be dependent on the states vote which is next | :07:06. | :07:09.
week. And then the development of housing is something which actually | :07:10. | :07:12.
is going to take over the next three to five years to achieve. However | :07:13. | :07:16.
the way we can support people can change now and is changing now. | :07:17. | :07:21.
Welcomed news by Joe who says these changes will hopefully mean adults | :07:22. | :07:24.
with autism won't be just living, but now have a life they are in | :07:25. | :07:34.
control of. Next tonight 's... | :07:35. | :07:39.
How much would you be willing to pay for a license plate like this? Well, | :07:40. | :07:43.
it was auctioned at the weekend in Jersey and someone bought it for | :07:44. | :07:49.
?65,000! Yes, ?65,000! In total the States of Jersey raised over a | :07:50. | :07:52.
quarter of a million pounds through the auction. There are now calls to | :07:53. | :07:56.
give some of it to charity. Pam Caulfield reports. | :07:57. | :08:00.
At 16 thousand pounds a letter. . This is one of the most expensive | :08:01. | :08:03.
car accessories you're likely to find. At an auction of over 50 | :08:04. | :08:06.
Jersey number plates over the weekend, the bidding for the | :08:07. | :08:09.
island's most exclusive registration was fierce. Well, this might be just | :08:10. | :08:14.
a mock`up of the number plate, but whoever bought the real one has | :08:15. | :08:22.
spent ?65,000 on it. How much do you think this is worth? ?10,000. | :08:23. | :08:39.
?65,000! Oh, my giddy aunt! ?10 0! ?65,000 is too much money! ?100 | :08:40. | :08:48.
?65,000! The whole auction exceeded expectations, raising more than a | :08:49. | :08:51.
quarter of a million pounds for the States. The surplus which is over | :08:52. | :08:58.
?160,000, that should go to charities, and that is why I have | :08:59. | :09:00.
sent e`mails to the Minister to suggest this. Unfortunately, I am | :09:01. | :09:09.
not allowed to give away this money, we have the latest agreement to | :09:10. | :09:13.
monitor the cars, the pollution etc, and that takes an awful lot of | :09:14. | :09:16.
upkeep, and we have plenty of project used this money to benefit | :09:17. | :09:19.
the committee. While many people can't afford the most expensive | :09:20. | :09:22.
number plates, everyone can play the game of looking out for them. | :09:23. | :09:31.
That means that number plate is worth a read ?10,000 more than my | :09:32. | :09:38.
car! `` worth about. Now, the weather. | :09:39. | :09:43.
The weather, not faring too badly. The forecast for the week ahead | :09:44. | :09:52.
across the Channel Islands is relatively quiet. The southerly wind | :09:53. | :09:57.
will vary from South or Southwest to southeasterly, and when that | :09:58. | :10:01.
happens, the difference in the temperatures. Generally it is | :10:02. | :10:04.
milder, mainly dry and we will see some sunshine also. The high | :10:05. | :10:08.
pressure has moved, moved across the central parts of Europe and out to | :10:09. | :10:14.
the West. There is a lot of cloud here. There are some clear skies to | :10:15. | :10:19.
start the night, but it will get cloudy this evening. This cloud will | :10:20. | :10:22.
get closer as the weather front drifts from the West. The winter | :10:23. | :10:27.
coming from Spain and Portugal, right up across the Bay of escape | :10:28. | :10:31.
and towards the Channel Islands so never much in the way of lower | :10:32. | :10:37.
temperatures. `` the day of Biscay. That averages will drop into | :10:38. | :10:44.
Wednesday. Some clear skies tonight, to butchers reaching three or four | :10:45. | :10:49.
degrees. For some places, five or six degrees by the morning. The | :10:50. | :10:54.
cloud could be thick enough to bring if you share as for Guernsey and | :10:55. | :11:02.
Alderney. `` bring a a few showers. The wind is from the South and from | :11:03. | :11:07.
the southeasterly. This is the coastal waters forecast, South, | :11:08. | :11:16.
southeasterly, three to four. These are the times of high water. For the | :11:17. | :11:29.
surfers, expect quiet conditions. The outlook is for us to remain | :11:30. | :11:34.
relatively dry and relatively mild. An easterly wind on Wednesday, which | :11:35. | :11:39.
will bring down the tempo archers. Thursday, Friday, a lot of cloud. `` | :11:40. | :11:45.
bring down the temperatures. Fairly quiet. | :11:46. | :11:52.
Some winter sunshine! That is the news from us, this is the rest of | :11:53. | :11:55.
spotlight now. when you are on an aircraft, flying | :11:56. | :12:05.
out. Three Greenpeace workers from Devon | :12:06. | :12:10.
could be freed under an amnesty brushed ` drafted by Vladimir Putin. | :12:11. | :12:21.
RX Harris... They are among 30 people arrested by the Russian | :12:22. | :12:23.
authorities after a Greenpeace protest in the Arctic. Russian media | :12:24. | :12:29.
say they could be released under his amnesty bill which is being | :12:30. | :12:33.
submitted to parliament on Thursday. One of Cornwall's largest Cornwall ` | :12:34. | :12:38.
tourist attraction has been sold. The new owner of the theme park is a | :12:39. | :12:44.
company called Livingston leisure. It says the attraction will close | :12:45. | :12:47.
for the winter, for refurbishment and open at Easter. It has no | :12:48. | :12:53.
immediate plans to change the existing facilities. | :12:54. | :12:56.
Hundreds of new homes could be built in Ilfracombe on land owned by | :12:57. | :13:04.
Damien Hirst. Last year the artist donated a giant bronze statue of a | :13:05. | :13:07.
pregnant woman to the town. Now land bought by Hirst ten years ago, is | :13:08. | :13:11.
near the centre of a proposed development, although four other | :13:12. | :13:14.
landowners are also involved. The application for the 187 acre site | :13:15. | :13:17.
also includes plans for a primary school, shops, business units and a | :13:18. | :13:22.
health centre. Still to come in Spotlight tonight: | :13:23. | :13:28.
the massive effort to repair potholes. And later, find out who | :13:29. | :13:32.
has won our sports team of the year award. And dubbed Britain's most | :13:33. | :13:39.
ferocious feline, but is he just a pussycat? | :13:40. | :13:41.
A major programme to repair potholes in Plymouth has been completed | :13:42. | :13:45.
today. The Council says 8,000 have been fixed across the city in the | :13:46. | :13:49.
last six months, using the equivalent of 11 miles of tarmac. | :13:50. | :13:53.
Across the South West local authorities say they've repaired | :13:54. | :14:03.
nearly 130,000 potholes this year. The final touches are being made to | :14:04. | :14:08.
the six`month resurfacing programme today. The contractor says it has | :14:09. | :14:14.
laid the equivalent of 14 football pitches of tarmac. We've undertaken | :14:15. | :14:16.
a thousand permanent repairs which is a huge number. They are not going | :14:17. | :14:23.
to come back again. That has been reflected in the response from | :14:24. | :14:27.
members of the public. As well as Plymouth's announcement today it has | :14:28. | :14:31.
fixed 8000 potholes in the last six months, Devon county council says, | :14:32. | :14:35.
with the biggest highways network in the country, so far this year it has | :14:36. | :14:40.
fixed 87,000. Cornwall has repaired just over 5000 since April. Somerset | :14:41. | :14:45.
has fixed more than 15,000 in the same time. In Torbay, the council | :14:46. | :14:50.
said it prepared 2000 in the last six months. Dorset county council | :14:51. | :14:55.
says it fixes 20,000 a year. Plymouth City Council has committed | :14:56. | :15:00.
to spending an extra ?20 million on road repairs over the next decade. | :15:01. | :15:05.
The state of the roads in Plymouth is a major, major, major issue for | :15:06. | :15:10.
the residents of the city. We deem it a really important issue which we | :15:11. | :15:17.
invest in. We have done it over a 10`year period. We have got the | :15:18. | :15:20.
money and we can do that. People want us to do it. It is the right | :15:21. | :15:26.
thing to do. The Department for transport says it is increasing | :15:27. | :15:29.
funding for road and pavement repairs, giving ?3 billion to local | :15:30. | :15:37.
authorities in this Parliament. Time for the sport now and we are | :15:38. | :15:41.
announcing our team and coach of the year. That is in a moment. | :15:42. | :15:47.
That is coming up. Exeter Chiefs look forward to meeting the European | :15:48. | :15:50.
Cup holders Toulon again, despite losing out to them at Sandy Park by | :15:51. | :15:57.
14`9. There was only one try and that came very early on after the | :15:58. | :16:00.
Toulon forwards gathered momentum and went over. Three penalties | :16:01. | :16:04.
pushed Exeter in front, before England's World Cup hero Jonny | :16:05. | :16:07.
Wilkinson placed a late drop goal to secure the winning points. The sides | :16:08. | :16:12.
meet again on the Cote D'Azur next Saturday. | :16:13. | :16:17.
The draw for the third round of the FA Cup was a damp squib for Yeovil | :16:18. | :16:21.
Town and Plymouth Argyle. The Pilgrims' reward for beating | :16:22. | :16:24.
Conference team Welling United 3`1 is an away trip to League One club | :16:25. | :16:28.
Port Vale. Argyle were three up in the first 20 minutes at Home Park | :16:29. | :16:31.
through Andres Gurriei, Curtis Nelson and Lewis Alessandra to | :16:32. | :16:33.
effectively end the non`leaguers hopes. But Port Vale will be an | :16:34. | :16:42.
entirely different proposition on January fourth next year. | :16:43. | :16:49.
Yeovil Town face their former manager Russell Slade in round three | :16:50. | :16:52.
when his League One table`toppers Leyton Orient come to Huish Park. | :16:53. | :16:55.
The Glovers remain third from the bottom of the Championship, despite | :16:56. | :16:59.
rescuing a point in a 2`2 draw with Charlton Athletic in Somerset. Two | :17:00. | :17:03.
goals down, Joel Grant was heavily involved in the revival. First, his | :17:04. | :17:08.
cross went in off a Charlton defender and then Grant was fouled | :17:09. | :17:11.
for Ishmael Miller to convert the penalty. Sometimes you need to be | :17:12. | :17:24.
behind to get going. I was really pleased for their own confidence, | :17:25. | :17:28.
they got it back. We could have won it in the end when we had it but we | :17:29. | :17:35.
lost control. Two wins and a draw in one week is still a very good | :17:36. | :17:37.
return. Two sabre fencers from Truro Fencing | :17:38. | :17:40.
Club have become British champions after winning their titles in the UK | :17:41. | :17:43.
nationals in Sheffield. 22`year`old James Honeybone successfully | :17:44. | :17:46.
defended his crown by a narrow 15`14 margin. Sophie Williams, also 22, | :17:47. | :17:51.
triumphed 15`10, having eliminated the British number one on her way to | :17:52. | :17:57.
the final. Both fencers made their Olympic debuts for Great Britain in | :17:58. | :18:04.
the London Games. The BBC Sports Personality of the | :18:05. | :18:08.
Year will be decided this Sunday and this week on Spotlight, we'll be | :18:09. | :18:12.
handing out some of our own Sports Awards. Tonight, we start with Team | :18:13. | :18:15.
and Coach of the Year. Both categories were vigorously contested | :18:16. | :18:18.
by our panel and Natalie went to do the honours at Sandy Park ` the home | :18:19. | :18:29.
of Exeter Chiefs. Another brilliant here for you. Well | :18:30. | :18:33.
done for holding your head is high in the premiership and the Heineken | :18:34. | :18:37.
cup. Thank you for putting and keeping the south`west on the rugby | :18:38. | :18:41.
map. We really are proud of you, all of the Southwest and we would like | :18:42. | :18:45.
to say you are now the team of the year. Can a captain please come and | :18:46. | :18:48.
receive the award? Thank you very much. Congratulations. Is there | :18:49. | :18:55.
anything you would like to say? Thank you. It is always an honour to | :18:56. | :19:01.
represent the south`west. The Chiefs are one of the few teams that play | :19:02. | :19:08.
on a national level. I think we want to be up there towards the top at | :19:09. | :19:11.
the end of the season. We've been doing reasonably well so far. We | :19:12. | :19:17.
will keep striving to be the best. We don't normally put a label on | :19:18. | :19:22.
where we want to end up. Are you proud of your team? Absolutely. Very | :19:23. | :19:28.
well done. Of course, that is the team award but we couldn't really do | :19:29. | :19:31.
it without a bit of guidance, could you? You need that steady, firm hand | :19:32. | :19:36.
on the tiller and I'm delighted to say that your coach, Rob Baxter, has | :19:37. | :19:42.
had a fantastic year. These broken into the England coaching setup and | :19:43. | :19:49.
continues to steer your careers. You are coach of the you words. Yes. | :19:50. | :19:57.
Obviously looking at the guys, it's an easy job. The truth of it is, and | :19:58. | :20:05.
we talk about coaches, but what makes a successful coaches good | :20:06. | :20:08.
players. We've got a lot of successful guys here who not only | :20:09. | :20:12.
worked very hard but are very good guys as well. It's a very nice job | :20:13. | :20:15.
to have and I'm very fortunate. I've got good coaching staff around me. | :20:16. | :20:19.
You will not leave Exeter, will you? No. Of got a lot of emotional | :20:20. | :20:26.
involvement with Exeter. ` I have got. I will be staying. Well done on | :20:27. | :20:32.
a great year. Well done, guys. Thank you. | :20:33. | :20:36.
Tomorrow in Spotlight, we'll be announcing the Disabled Sportsperson | :20:37. | :20:43.
of the Year. Something to look forward to. | :20:44. | :20:48.
His neighbours have branded him Britain's most ferocious feline, so | :20:49. | :20:54.
no one psychologist has been to see Shiny that cat in Cornwall. | :20:55. | :20:59.
Villagers in the place where he lives say he has attacked animals | :21:00. | :21:07.
and pets. The cat's owners say that he is a lot calmer now he has been | :21:08. | :21:12.
neutered. When you own the most ferocious cat | :21:13. | :21:16.
in Britain, it is time to call in the cat psychologist. Hello. This is | :21:17. | :21:27.
Shiny. Would you like to see him? I certainly would. Shiny has been a | :21:28. | :21:33.
very bad boy. How dangerous is it? I don't think he is dangerous at all. | :21:34. | :21:39.
Not everyone agrees. Shiny has been branded the Devil cat. He has | :21:40. | :21:44.
attacked other cats and humans. This woman was left needing antibiotics | :21:45. | :21:49.
after he launched himself at. He is a friendly pet cat and yet is | :21:50. | :21:57.
Britain's most violent cat. So, which is he? Excuse me. Is this hand | :21:58. | :22:06.
to your high standards? Shiny's owners say he is a changed character | :22:07. | :22:10.
since he was neutered at the end of the summer. That was the carrot, the | :22:11. | :22:20.
friendship maker. This is the stick. I'm not going to use it on him but | :22:21. | :22:25.
if he had gone for me, I'm not completely stupid, I would have | :22:26. | :22:29.
protected myself with this hiss. It's the same hiss that cats make | :22:30. | :22:33.
naturally. I'm very relieved that we making friends very easily. I think | :22:34. | :22:43.
we have an understanding. Outside, it is clear to see Shiny is top cat. | :22:44. | :22:58.
Even when the dog arrives, Shiny still stands his ground. I am | :22:59. | :23:08.
beginning to like Shiny more and more. He is a great cat. He is a cat | :23:09. | :23:15.
with character. The woman who was attacked before he was neutered told | :23:16. | :23:18.
me she didn't want to be interviewed on TV. Shiny is innocent. He is a | :23:19. | :23:26.
good cat and people should make friends with him and not spray him | :23:27. | :23:31.
with hosepipes. He will be a lot better. And two`year`old Poppy | :23:32. | :23:42.
agrees. Nice to see that happy ending. | :23:43. | :23:50.
Good evening. We have some fairly good news this week. Nothing too | :23:51. | :23:55.
dramatic happening in our weather pattern. If anything, it is slightly | :23:56. | :23:59.
less cold. Milder air is coming our way. Breezy at times. Mainly dry. We | :24:00. | :24:04.
will see if you like showers. Most of us will get away with a decent | :24:05. | :24:08.
week ahead. Even though there is the risk of some overnight frost, it | :24:09. | :24:12.
will be fairly limited. Tonight, some frost briefly. A lot more cloud | :24:13. | :24:16.
coming our way this evening and overnight. We've had high pressure | :24:17. | :24:22.
for quite a while. It has moved into the near continent. It's across the | :24:23. | :24:25.
Alps at the moment. It allows the winds from the south to develop. | :24:26. | :24:28.
Those winds are coming from a long way south, from Spain and Portugal, | :24:29. | :24:33.
through the Bay of Biscay and to us. It means they are relatively mild. | :24:34. | :24:38.
The problems with the temperatures. Eventually, those weather systems | :24:39. | :24:41.
will come closer, as we move towards the end of the week. Until that | :24:42. | :24:44.
happens, southerly winds which refresh at times. This was the | :24:45. | :24:51.
picture from earlier today. There has been some sunshine today, both | :24:52. | :24:55.
at the start of the day and the end of the day. We start with Exmouth, | :24:56. | :24:59.
where our cameraman, Greg, got a lovely shot this morning was calm | :25:00. | :25:06.
seas. You could be forgiven for thinking you are looking at the | :25:07. | :25:10.
Algarve. How about that for a shot at the end of the day? All that | :25:11. | :25:19.
clear sky briefly tonight will allow a frost to form here and there. | :25:20. | :25:25.
Later, the cloud will win. Briefly, some clear skies. The cloud will | :25:26. | :25:28.
turn up and it might just be thick enough for if few light showers. I | :25:29. | :25:31.
don't think it will be to dump overnight to night. Some mist | :25:32. | :25:35.
patches will form here and there. Overnight temperatures will probably | :25:36. | :25:38.
be four or five degrees. No lower than that. Climbing up to seven or | :25:39. | :25:41.
eight degrees by dawn tomorrow morning. The southerly winds will be | :25:42. | :25:45.
a feature of the weather tomorrow. Briefly, cloudy with some wind in | :25:46. | :25:49.
the morning but sunshine developing in the afternoon. Northern parts of | :25:50. | :25:53.
Devon and Somerset could have a nice afternoon with some pleasant | :25:54. | :25:57.
sunshine to enjoy. A bit breezy for southern coasts, especially | :25:58. | :26:00.
Cornwall, and across the Isles of Scilly. A top temperature tomorrow | :26:01. | :26:04.
off 12 degrees. That's quite a bit above the average for the time of | :26:05. | :26:11.
year. Quite a breeze over the Isles of Scilly. The cloud will break up | :26:12. | :26:18.
during the afternoon. Here are the times of high water. And for our | :26:19. | :26:32.
servers... `` surfers. The cleanest surf will be along the north coast, | :26:33. | :26:36.
up to five feet by the end of the day. A southerly force four to five | :26:37. | :26:43.
and mainly fair, in terms of the coastal waters forecast. The | :26:44. | :26:48.
outlook, quite a good one. Wednesday, some mist first thing and | :26:49. | :26:53.
then pleasant sunshine to enjoy. Temperatures will be 13, possibly 14 | :26:54. | :26:57.
degrees. Rather thicker cloud turning up on Friday. That is that | :26:58. | :27:01.
weather front finally making progress towards us. I don't think | :27:02. | :27:05.
it would be too heavy. It remains relatively mild. Have a good | :27:06. | :27:08.
evening. With the countdown to Chris was well | :27:09. | :27:11.
and truly underway, two weeks before the big day, so we thought we would | :27:12. | :27:17.
look at how the region is getting ready. From all of us on the | :27:18. | :27:19.
programme, good night. Bye`bye. | :27:20. | :27:23. |
