showers in the west and south. That's all from the | :00:00. | :00:12.
Jersey's Treasury minister was under scrutiny today over plans to borrow | :00:13. | :01:02.
hundreds of millions of pounds for social housing in the island. The | :01:03. | :01:09.
plans have already received state approval `` States approval. Our | :01:10. | :01:18.
reporter was at the scrutiny hearing. It was quite a heated | :01:19. | :01:23.
discussion between the Treasury Minister and the scrutiny panel The | :01:24. | :01:27.
plans to borrow ?250 million to build housing was approved in last | :01:28. | :01:35.
month's budget discussions. The sticking point is that in order to | :01:36. | :01:40.
borrow a large sum of money requires a change in the law. The public | :01:41. | :01:47.
finance law limits the amount the Treasury minister can lend and | :01:48. | :01:53.
borrow to each department. Senator Philip Ozouf is keen to get this | :01:54. | :01:59.
changed as quickly as possible. We want to be able to go to the market | :02:00. | :02:03.
and get this capital so that new entity can be set up with a capital | :02:04. | :02:07.
it needs to get on with refurbishing and continuing they good work they | :02:08. | :02:12.
have done but also providing up to 1000 units of new affordable | :02:13. | :02:18.
accommodation. My objective is to get that capital at the lowest | :02:19. | :02:28.
possible interest rates. What are the concerns? Sarah Ferguson says | :02:29. | :02:30.
she is concerned that suitable checks are in place in time for the | :02:31. | :02:37.
loan. We wanted to make sure all these controls were in place before | :02:38. | :02:45.
the lending took place because 250 million worth of tax payers money is | :02:46. | :02:54.
a lot of money to be playing with and we want to make sure it is | :02:55. | :02:59.
properly safeguard. Senator Philip Ozouf wants the issue resolved by | :03:00. | :03:02.
the end of the month so the plans can now go ahead. | :03:03. | :03:08.
Efforts to build more affordable homes in Guernsey been hindered by | :03:09. | :03:12.
the lack of potential sites to develop. The Guernsey Housing | :03:13. | :03:15.
Association has 250 people on its waiting list for rented housing and | :03:16. | :03:20.
a further 154 partial ownership schemes. It says it has run out of | :03:21. | :03:27.
Brownfield sites to build on. Five years ago, Muriel found herself in a | :03:28. | :03:30.
position where she soon wouldn't have a home to go home too. I lived | :03:31. | :03:37.
across the road on the housing authority estate for 41 years. Sadly | :03:38. | :03:45.
I lost my stepfather and he left me some money and I knew I was going to | :03:46. | :03:49.
have to move. I was really worried as to where I was going to end up. | :03:50. | :03:54.
Fortunately, she ended up here. Eligible for a partly owned house, | :03:55. | :04:03.
she owns 40% of this property. She says it was the only way she could | :04:04. | :04:10.
afford something. These schemes are brilliant but I feel sorry for young | :04:11. | :04:15.
people because the price of property in Guernsey is really high. | :04:16. | :04:20.
Developments like this one will provide more partial ownership and | :04:21. | :04:24.
social housing but they housing association says it means to build | :04:25. | :04:28.
more to meet the demand for affordable homes locally. There are | :04:29. | :04:31.
hundreds on their way to miss but the fact `` but the lack of | :04:32. | :04:34.
available sites means it is difficult to meet that demand. The | :04:35. | :04:38.
association wasn't interested in building here at the old Warry | :04:39. | :04:45.
bakery. Finding suitable sites is a constant challenge. We are looking | :04:46. | :04:51.
to the future. We are short of residential sites at the moment The | :04:52. | :04:56.
States are looking at where more housing can be built in the future | :04:57. | :05:00.
but with limited space, finding enough to help families and | :05:01. | :05:05.
intervals `` and individuals with a place to call home is hard. | :05:06. | :05:11.
Committee members of jersey's Historic Abuse Inquiry will be | :05:12. | :05:13.
meeting in London this week to appoint a independent team. They | :05:14. | :05:21.
will examine allegations of abuse in children's homes and fostering | :05:22. | :05:25.
services from 1960 to the current day. They will be hearing from | :05:26. | :05:28.
victims and witnesses later this year. | :05:29. | :05:31.
There are more people out of work in Guernsey. Figures show there were | :05:32. | :05:36.
more than 433 people unemployed at the end of last year, that is 2 or | :05:37. | :05:41.
6% more than the previous year. In Alderney, there were 12 registered | :05:42. | :05:47.
as unemployed. Guernsey's Social Security Minister says things are | :05:48. | :05:53.
improving. 2013, the increase was 6% year`on`year. The previous year it | :05:54. | :05:59.
was 36%. That was quite an encouraging sign that the increase | :06:00. | :06:04.
as we have experienced are now plateauing. | :06:05. | :06:08.
The entire Jersey Field Squadron could be called upon to fight for | :06:09. | :06:12.
Great Britain. The British armies it is to be cut from 100,000 to eight | :06:13. | :06:17.
2000 personnel. `` British Army It has plans to double the amount. `` | :06:18. | :06:29.
82,000. Jersey could have a greater part to play in future conflicts. | :06:30. | :06:39.
This advert is part of a ?3 million British army come `` recruitment | :06:40. | :06:44.
campaign. It comes at a time as the number of full`time soldiers is | :06:45. | :06:46.
being cut but there is a push for reserve soldiers to be called up if | :06:47. | :06:54.
needed. Jersey's freehold Squadron have only sent individuals in the | :06:55. | :07:06.
past. `` Field Squadron. Over the last 20 years, we have sent people | :07:07. | :07:11.
to the Balkans, to Iraq and Afghanistan. The basis of that has | :07:12. | :07:17.
been sending individuals as reinforcements to regular units The | :07:18. | :07:21.
key change that will be occurring is they are now looking at Sunday year | :07:22. | :07:27.
in it `` units as formed bodies B Squadron want to boost their numbers | :07:28. | :07:31.
and this week are running free Army fitness sessions as part of the | :07:32. | :07:35.
recruitment push. Does the prospect of the whole local unit being called | :07:36. | :07:42.
to fight worry them? It is good that we get to go away together because | :07:43. | :07:44.
we know each other's strengths and weaknesses. Teams are not just build | :07:45. | :07:51.
overnight. They take a bit of time. They are looking to take on young | :07:52. | :07:57.
fit men and women who are willing to give up their time aged between 18 | :07:58. | :08:01.
and 42. There are plans to recruit from Gaunt `` from Guernsey also. | :08:02. | :08:08.
They want to grow and train the Jersey Field Squadron so they can | :08:09. | :08:12.
grow as one unit. There has been disappointment the | :08:13. | :08:15.
Guernsey's Heather Watson on the opening day of the Australian tennis | :08:16. | :08:19.
open in Melbourne. She was beaten in three sets by Daniela Hantuchova. | :08:20. | :08:25.
She had come through three rounds of qualifiers before going down to the | :08:26. | :08:32.
Slovakian. She told the BBC that her initial success didn't lessen the | :08:33. | :08:38.
blow of her defeat. No match is going to be easy in a grand slam and | :08:39. | :08:42.
I knew this wouldn't be different. I was ready for fighting for every | :08:43. | :08:48.
point. I created a lot of chances for myself and wasn't able to take | :08:49. | :08:55.
them. It happens. I felt I made a lot of unforced errors today. I | :08:56. | :09:01.
works with what I had on the day. Commiserations to her. The BBC's | :09:02. | :09:06.
terror does tennis correspondent said despite her bitter | :09:07. | :09:08.
disappointment, her performance shows she is getting back to form. | :09:09. | :09:15.
It might seem it is churlish to be talking about positives in defeat | :09:16. | :09:18.
when you have just lost a match at a grand slam, especially having come | :09:19. | :09:22.
through three man `` three rounds of qualifying. Heather Watson looks | :09:23. | :09:29.
like her pre`glandular fever self. 2013 was a write`off for her but she | :09:30. | :09:32.
does look like she is the part again. Chick came through three | :09:33. | :09:37.
rounds of qualifying here in Brisbane and now again in Melbourne. | :09:38. | :09:41.
She will be disappointed she mist out in a tight match with Daniela | :09:42. | :09:46.
Hantuchova. Daniela Hantuchova is a top seeded player. In time, it is | :09:47. | :09:55.
hoped to have a can regain her place in the world's top 50 which is where | :09:56. | :10:02.
a player of her ability does belong. Tomorrow, it is going to reach 2 | :10:03. | :10:09.
Celsius there. Not quite the same temperatures for us here in the | :10:10. | :10:10.
Channel Islands, is it? 42 Celsius is too hot for me. | :10:11. | :10:21.
Temperatures down overnight and it is a cooler day general. We have a | :10:22. | :10:28.
chilly night to come overnight tonight. At the moment we have | :10:29. | :10:32.
showers covering us but they will tend to throw away. We have an | :10:33. | :10:39.
unsettled picture. It is slightly cooler for the next couple of days | :10:40. | :10:42.
but it warms up and we see temperatures back into double | :10:43. | :10:46.
figures. At the moment, we have showers across as and one or two | :10:47. | :10:51.
giving hail. Though showers will fade away late at night as high | :10:52. | :10:55.
pressure moves in. By the time we get to the middle of the day, we | :10:56. | :11:00.
have one warm weather front with us. Hopefully, much of the day | :11:01. | :11:06.
tomorrow should be dry. Then, all change. Low pressure is taking up | :11:07. | :11:15.
much of the day tomorrow. The showers overnight tonight will tend | :11:16. | :11:19.
to fade away. Temperatures will get down to four Celsius. It is a cold | :11:20. | :11:25.
start to the day tomorrow but it should be a good morning. A little | :11:26. | :11:31.
bit more cloud is making the sunshine hazy by the afternoon. | :11:32. | :11:34.
Generally, it is cloudy for most of us. The wind is light but they | :11:35. | :11:38.
freshen as we move into the evening. Here is the outlook. Wednesday is a | :11:39. | :12:09.
cloudy day with further outbreaks of rain. Temperatures back up to 1 th | :12:10. | :12:11.
Celsius. Have a good evening. See you tomorrow. We are back at 8pm | :12:12. | :12:18.
and 10:25pm. Goodbye. Adrian's report on Inside Out | :12:19. | :12:31.
tonight at 7:30pm here on BBC One. Contractors are due to move hundreds | :12:32. | :12:34.
of tonnes of sand which has piled up against beach side properties in St | :12:35. | :12:37.
Ives. People living at Porthmeor Beach say the sand is around ten | :12:38. | :12:41.
feet above its normal level for this time of year. They believe it may | :12:42. | :12:45.
have contributed to the flooding of several homes in last weeks extreme | :12:46. | :12:48.
weather. David George has this report though. | :12:49. | :12:54.
Flats and apartments overlooking Porthmeor Beach near the Tate | :12:55. | :12:57.
Gallery have some of the best views in Cornwall, but last week's | :12:58. | :13:02.
combination of high tides, low pressure and wind, but the sea | :13:03. | :13:06.
crashing through the windows and doors into several homes. It hit | :13:07. | :13:11.
bang on and caused an almighty crash. | :13:12. | :13:15.
The impact did this. Completely cracked the old wooden frame. We are | :13:16. | :13:19.
lucky the whole thing didn't collapse, but the water took about | :13:20. | :13:25.
30 seconds or a minute before it rained back again. Then we were sort | :13:26. | :13:29.
of standing here wondering, my God, if that was one we've come are more | :13:30. | :13:34.
coming? Sure enough, another wave came, smashed its way through there, | :13:35. | :13:37.
right through the back door and completely flooded the whole of | :13:38. | :13:43.
number two. It is approaching high water now, | :13:44. | :13:47.
but a week ago during the storm the high tide came right up to here. | :13:48. | :13:51.
Some residents blame the level of this sand. 18 inches below the | :13:52. | :13:57.
balcony now, but it is normally, they say, around ten feet below this | :13:58. | :14:02.
level. Residents called on Cornwall Council | :14:03. | :14:05.
to take urgent action during the storm as high tides and stronger | :14:06. | :14:10.
winds were forecast. This was a 12 foot swell backed by | :14:11. | :14:15.
28 mph winds. The next one was predicted to be 48 mph and a 22 foot | :14:16. | :14:20.
swell. We were in trepidation so we moved everything out of the flat | :14:21. | :14:24.
upstairs. Council officials said they could | :14:25. | :14:27.
not take any action while the storm was still raging. There were two | :14:28. | :14:32.
concerns, the first was that we thought the sun was protecting the | :14:33. | :14:35.
foundations of the older sea wall and if it had been moved that would | :14:36. | :14:37.
have been catastrophic damage to the properties. | :14:38. | :14:41.
There is also the real issue of health and safety of the people | :14:42. | :14:46.
employed to do that. The storm was prevailing and there was a short | :14:47. | :14:51.
period of opportunity to get people onto the beach to do the work. Con | :14:52. | :14:55.
mole council says work will begin on removing some of the sand later this | :14:56. | :14:56.
week. `` Cornwall Council. | :14:57. | :15:03.
Meanwhile, the Environment Agency has warned tonight that more | :15:04. | :15:05.
forecast rain could bring further flooding to the Somerset Levels. | :15:06. | :15:08.
Water levels on the moorland are falling slightly. But roads remain | :15:09. | :15:11.
closed, houses are still waterlogged and one village is still cut off. | :15:12. | :15:14.
Here's our Somerset Correspondent, Clinton Rogers. | :15:15. | :15:20.
James's family have farmed on the Somerset levels for 150 years. Only | :15:21. | :15:25.
three times in living memory has their farm flooded. And all since | :15:26. | :15:32.
2000. Taking the BBC to a high fan Page point on the Somerset levels, | :15:33. | :15:35.
he explained what he thought was the reason. That is the town, and this | :15:36. | :15:43.
is where they merge. It is like a motorway, when you have | :15:44. | :15:48.
a motorway that goes down to one lane, you get a pile`up. This is | :15:49. | :15:51.
where you have all the traffic flowing out over either side, | :15:52. | :15:56.
because it cannot get away. That, he says, is simply because they have | :15:57. | :16:00.
stopped dredging the rivers. Clearing them of a build`up of silt | :16:01. | :16:05.
which really comes in with the tide of the Severn estuary. If you leave | :16:06. | :16:09.
it, the rivers clog up and hold less water. The result, say many, is | :16:10. | :16:17.
this. The Environment Agency is the organisation responsible for the | :16:18. | :16:21.
rivers. When I cornered Lord Smith, then chairman of the agency come on | :16:22. | :16:24.
a visit to Somerset more than one year ago, he did commit to dredging. | :16:25. | :16:31.
Eventually. What we need to do is find out here were the best places | :16:32. | :16:37.
to dredge going to be, then get on and do it. | :16:38. | :16:42.
When? I as soon as possible. Fine? I would be very disappointed | :16:43. | :16:49.
if we were not seen some improvement happening in the course of the next | :16:50. | :16:54.
six months. But all that has happened since then | :16:55. | :16:57.
is a pilot project on small sections of the rivers. The agency has agreed | :16:58. | :17:02.
that further dredging would ease flooding. But there is no money for | :17:03. | :17:06.
it. They reckon that to dredge just ten | :17:07. | :17:11.
kilometres would cost ?4 million. And in spite of appeals for help to | :17:12. | :17:16.
organisations and local companies, so far they have only raised 1 | :17:17. | :17:23.
million. No money, no dredging. We could well be back here again next | :17:24. | :17:25.
year. A family from Cornwall whose eldest | :17:26. | :17:35.
son died just over a year ago now face and move to a smaller property | :17:36. | :17:37.
after having housing benefit reduced. The change to the benefits | :17:38. | :17:42.
system was introduced by the Government last April. But the | :17:43. | :17:45.
Chapman family believe the situation is unfair, and that exceptional | :17:46. | :17:48.
circumstances should be taken into consideration. Spotlight's Heidi | :17:49. | :17:49.
Davey reports. Dawn and Adam Chapman are still | :17:50. | :17:56.
adjusting to life without Caleb. Their eldest son died after being | :17:57. | :18:00.
hit by a car while going to catch the school bus back in December | :18:01. | :18:03.
2012. The couple, along with their two other children, live in a local | :18:04. | :18:07.
authority three`bedroom house in Hayle. | :18:08. | :18:09.
Two`year`old Eva has a bedroom and five`year`old Ashton, who used to | :18:10. | :18:12.
share with his older brother, also has his own room. But since | :18:13. | :18:17.
Government changes last April, families deemed to have too much | :18:18. | :18:19.
living space receive a reduced payment, and a year on from losing | :18:20. | :18:23.
Caleb the Chapmans are being asked to pay to keep their third headroom | :18:24. | :18:26.
as the two youngest siblings are deemed eligible to share a room. | :18:27. | :18:32.
It is not the case that he has moved out and gone to uni or something. | :18:33. | :18:38.
What has happened is tragic in itself, but then to get this letter | :18:39. | :18:42.
saying they want to charge us for bedroom tax because of what has | :18:43. | :18:46.
happened to our eldest son, and we still have a boy and girl left, it | :18:47. | :18:50.
is ridiculous. Devon and Cornwall Housing says it | :18:51. | :18:53.
is extremism are fit for the family's circumstances and will | :18:54. | :18:56.
continue to work with them to explore a long`term solution that is | :18:57. | :18:59.
acceptable to them. `` it is extremely sympathetic to the | :19:00. | :19:02.
family's circumstances. I am a self`employed hairdresser. In | :19:03. | :19:07.
time, once I'm fully established, we'll be able to pay full rent and | :19:08. | :19:12.
council tax, we will not need to go through anything like this. We just | :19:13. | :19:15.
need a bit of help, just for now, just to get us where we want to be | :19:16. | :19:20.
and then we will be absolutely fine. Since the bill was issued in | :19:21. | :19:23.
December, Devon and Cornwall Housing and Cornwall Council have secured a | :19:24. | :19:26.
discretionary payment for the family to cover the extra cost until April. | :19:27. | :19:31.
The local authority added that the policy around housing benefit is set | :19:32. | :19:34.
by Central Government and administered by local authorities. | :19:35. | :19:38.
Cornwall Council's benefits team has been in contact with the family to | :19:39. | :19:42.
offer advice and assistance. We are now working to provide longer term | :19:43. | :19:44.
solutions. Whether that will be enough for Dawn | :19:45. | :19:52.
and Adam remains to be seen. They believe every case should be looked | :19:53. | :19:53.
at individually. Time now for the sport, and Chris | :19:54. | :20:05.
Hargreaves takes pole position tonight after his first win as a | :20:06. | :20:09.
manager. He does indeed. Hello, everybody. | :20:10. | :20:13.
The 41`year`old steered his new club, Torquay United, to a vital | :20:14. | :20:17.
three points at AFC Wimbledon to give them fresh impetus in their bid | :20:18. | :20:20.
to stave off relegation from the Football League. I'm afraid that was | :20:21. | :20:23.
the only success from the weekend, as told by the managers and BBC | :20:24. | :20:25.
Radio Devon. The usual football statements come | :20:26. | :20:36.
in, half a job, not finished yet, but the general mentality was that | :20:37. | :20:41.
the fight was there today come and that is what we need. I am under no | :20:42. | :20:45.
illusions how hard this job will be. Until the end of the season comment | :20:46. | :20:52.
is going to be tough. They are one of the better teams in | :20:53. | :20:55.
the division and we have matched them. It is a big plus for us. I | :20:56. | :21:00.
think we are improving hell of a lot. We just have to maintain that | :21:01. | :21:05.
to get where we want to be at the end of the season. Full credit to | :21:06. | :21:08.
the players, we are playing all right at the moment. That is a nice | :21:09. | :21:14.
ball into the box, and it is in the net! | :21:15. | :21:18.
Extraordinary, it has gone in. It could be an own goal but David | :21:19. | :21:25.
Wheeler is going to claim it. City lead 1`0. Puts it into the bottom | :21:26. | :21:31.
right hand corner. Rovers are possibly round the back, | :21:32. | :21:38.
in comes the cross! Amazing! For the second time in two games, | :21:39. | :21:45.
O'Toole has scored the winning goal for Bristol Rovers in time added on. | :21:46. | :21:51.
We know that we have it in us, we are not 1 million miles away from | :21:52. | :21:55.
where we need to be, but if you make mistakes against top teams then the | :21:56. | :22:00.
punish you. We need to bad mistakes from the two goals. `` we made two | :22:01. | :22:07.
bad mistakes. We did get a goal in the end, that was good. | :22:08. | :22:11.
Exeter Chiefs' 15`10 home loss to Glasgow Warriors in rugby's European | :22:12. | :22:16.
Cup confirmed their exit from the tournament. The Chiefs were ten | :22:17. | :22:19.
points to the good through Fetu'u Vainikolo's effort. But the Warriors | :22:20. | :22:22.
wiped that out with two tries of their own at Sandy Park. However, | :22:23. | :22:26.
Exeter still have the slightest of chances of making it to the European | :22:27. | :22:29.
Challenge Cup if they earn a bonus point win at Cardiff Blues this | :22:30. | :22:31.
Saturday. Staying with rugby, Plymouth Albion | :22:32. | :22:41.
are almost certain to qualify for the quarterfinals of the British and | :22:42. | :22:45.
Irish Cup. Their 39`3 stroll over Stirling County maintains their top | :22:46. | :22:47.
position. The leaders go through, but even if Albion lose their final | :22:48. | :22:51.
tie at Nottingham, they could still progress as one of the best | :22:52. | :22:53.
runners`up. The Cornish Pirates look to make it | :22:54. | :22:58.
a clean sweep of six wins out of six as their berth in the last eight is | :22:59. | :23:04.
already guaranteed. Well done, the Cornish Pirates. Finally, tomorrow | :23:05. | :23:10.
night Plymouth Argyle try to reach round four of the FA Cup against | :23:11. | :23:15.
Port Vale at Home Park in a third round replay. There's full coverage | :23:16. | :23:17.
on all BBC Radio Devon frequencies from 7:05pm. | :23:18. | :23:23.
There have been reports of a mini tornado in the South Devon town of | :23:24. | :23:27.
Kingsbridge. Several buildings in the town centre had slates blown off | :23:28. | :23:31.
this afternoon. Eyewitnesses said the freak event lasted about a | :23:32. | :23:34.
minute and a half. Bridge Street was cordoned off by the Fire Service as | :23:35. | :23:38.
they dealt with a large velux window that had smashed onto the pavement. | :23:39. | :23:43.
It was just quite freaky. All of the wind `` all of a sudden the wind was | :23:44. | :23:47.
just horrendous, and a placard from outside of the shop was thrown into | :23:48. | :23:51.
the two and crashed outside. It broke in two then hailstones. | :23:52. | :23:57.
Later, we noticed the roof had come off and landed in the little car | :23:58. | :24:01.
park area and the railings were bent. Goodness me, who knows what | :24:02. | :24:07.
the weather will throw at us next! Here is a man who might, welcome | :24:08. | :24:11.
back, David. After all of the bad weather we have | :24:12. | :24:13.
seen come it is nice to talk After all of the bad weather we have | :24:14. | :24:16.
seen about more settled weather, but perhaps not one of us for most of | :24:17. | :24:21.
us, just one day, tomorrow. The general trend is to remain unsettled | :24:22. | :24:25.
this week, more rain in the forecast and feeling quite cold, particularly | :24:26. | :24:31.
tonight and tomorrow. Like a cold day in wintry showers and enough | :24:32. | :24:34.
clear sky overnight to drop temperatures close to freezing, so | :24:35. | :24:38.
we have `` warning from the Met Office about the risk of ice, | :24:39. | :24:42.
possible anywhere but especially on roads and pavements that have not | :24:43. | :24:48.
been gritted. You can see this gap in the cloud to the west of Wales | :24:49. | :24:51.
and the southern Ireland at the moment. That gives much more settled | :24:52. | :24:54.
weather overnight and a good part of the day tomorrow before the next | :24:55. | :24:58.
line of cloud comes in. That will produce rain towards the end of the | :24:59. | :25:02.
day tomorrow. Before it arrives and we will have as reasonable day, | :25:03. | :25:10.
increasingly hazy. By Wednesday we are back to square one with a windy | :25:11. | :25:13.
day and plenty of showers around, some of those quite heavy at times. | :25:14. | :25:19.
The showers we have now are still quite lively, we have had hailstones | :25:20. | :25:23.
in the last couple of hours, but becoming more isolated as the | :25:24. | :25:27.
evening wears on. By the end of the evening and overnight the showers | :25:28. | :25:30.
will probably fade away. Clearing skies will allow some mist and | :25:31. | :25:36.
crossed `` frost. We should have some morning sunshine. We had some | :25:37. | :25:41.
sunshine briefly today. This was early today in the team yesterday. | :25:42. | :25:53.
`` obtain estuary. `` Teign. For most of us a chance to get outside | :25:54. | :25:57.
and enjoys some lighter winds. You could feel it being worn looking at | :25:58. | :26:02.
that, but it has not been won today, temperatures around eight | :26:03. | :26:09.
Celsius. `` it has not been warned today. A cold start, through the day | :26:10. | :26:15.
tomorrow amateurs will come up. In the afternoon the cloud will come in | :26:16. | :26:19.
with not too much wet weather, mostly across Cornwall by the end of | :26:20. | :26:22.
the afternoon. Winds increasing as the rain arrives. Where it stays | :26:23. | :26:30.
cold tomorrow first thing it in the morning eight Celsius is the highest | :26:31. | :26:34.
we can expect, with the rain temperatures up to double figures, | :26:35. | :26:37.
for the Isles of Scilly for instance. Quite windy here, | :26:38. | :26:41.
especially by the early evening. The times of high water... | :26:42. | :26:47.
If you are heading to the beach for a spot of surfing the waves are | :26:48. | :26:54.
quite big and coastal conditions still quite dangerous, even though | :26:55. | :27:03.
the wind conditions have eased. The sea temperature is around 10 | :27:04. | :27:09.
Celsius. The coastal waters forecast, winds from the west or | :27:10. | :27:12.
north west first thing tomorrow, picking up to force five backing | :27:13. | :27:14.
Westerly. Wednesday is windy, a day with | :27:15. | :27:23.
plenty of cloud and frequent showers. Temperatures are recovered | :27:24. | :27:30.
nicely, less frost possible, but certainly remaining unsettled | :27:31. | :27:32.
towards the end of the week ahead. That is all from me, good evening. | :27:33. | :27:38.
There is more local news on your BBC local radio station on the hour | :27:39. | :27:41.
throughout the evening. I will be back with the late News at 10:25pm. | :27:42. | :27:45.
Have a good evening. Good night. | :27:46. | :27:47. |
