Good evening. A teenage boy who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a

17`year`old in Surrey has been sectioned under the Mental Health

Act. The girl's body was found in a flat in Amy Road in Oxted on Friday.

Rebecca Williams reports. Floral tributes have been left today

secure hospital while on bail. During the Sunday church service,

shattered by it. This is a homely town, and neighbours are friends. We

will be praying for all of those at the heart of this tragedy. We prayed

for the girl who died the night before last saw tragically. I am

sure the family and friends and people like that we are also praying

for. It will shake everybody very deeply. It is very shocking. It has

never happened here before. People connected with the time are all over

There has been an angry reaction from parents and teachers after

Hammersmith and Fulham Council approved plans to close a successful

Primary School and build a new Secondary Free School on its site.

Sulivan Primary is a member of the Mayor's gold club for exceptional

schools but now its pupils will be moved elsewhere. The council claims

the school is undersubscribed. Warren Nettleford has this report.

Sullivan primary is rated by Ofsted as a good school. Its recent results

place it in the top 3% of the country. When time is running out

for good here, though. The council has decided to close the school.

Teachers say they have worked to make it a success. The ethos is not

transferable. We have worked hard with parents and families to

encourage them to be involved in the learning. They trust us and they

believe in us. And that is what makes us so precious. At the moment,

the first reception class is full, indicating that the school is

popular. That has not always been the case and the council argues that

merging with another school with more free spaces is more efficient.

Yes, the current reception is full. But you have to look at how that

became full, and it was not necessarily because people were

coming up from the nursery. There were late applications and things

like that. Long`term, we do not think the structural imbalance has

been addressed. The plan will see pupils from Sullivan Primary School

moved to the nearby Kings School, which will be expanded. That school

welcomes the plans but campaigners at Sullivan are angry at what they

see as a land grab by the council, who supports the creation of a free

school. It is not the responsibility of the council to find a site for

the free school. That is the responsibility of the Department for

education. That is not their remit. And yet it has become so entwined

the council say they have never hidden their support for the new

school. Doing this will clear up something like ?400,000 extra which

can be passed on to the schools. That is a big reduction in

overheads. It can be used to pay for extra teachers or extra facilities.

Parents and residents say that they are looking into how they can fight

the plans. And a London artist is offering a

reward after all this paintings were stolen. `` all his paintings. More

than seventy large canvasses by Jon Astrop were in a white Ford Transit

van, which was taken from a street in North Finchley. He has sold the

works to the likes of Chris Evans and Roman Abramovich. Mr Astrop says

the canvasses are his "entire collection of works" that he

exhibits in pop up shows across the capital.
