Ryanair flight stranded at Stansted Airport claimed they were left for

nearly four hours without food or water and called police to help

them. They were not allowed to get off the plane, which was due to fly

to Portugal, because the terminal was locked. Jean Mackenzie has this

Excuse me! Angry and frustrated this video from on board the plane

shows tensions rising of the hours tick by. Passengers can be heard

complaining that their requests for food, water and air conditioning are

being refused. They were on the 8:25pm evening flight from Stansted

to Porto. But delays meant they did not board the plane until just after

midnight. They remained there for more than three hours, unable to get

back into the terminal building because it was locked. At 3:25am,

police forces arrived to help. There is a police officer. We have been in

the aeroplane for three and half hours. It happened last Friday as

strong winds swept across England. Flights were diverted to Stansted,

meaning this plane could not be refuelled on time. Ryanair says the

captain made every effort to get passengers back into the terminal.

It says after two hours he called the airport's handling company to

get them to get passengers back in. When they failed to arrive, he then

called the police and in that time water was given out and air

conditioning switched on. Swiss port has said staff were under extreme

pressure that night, dealing with an unprecedented level of flights. They

admit they should have got passengers off the plane sooner but

say when they took the call from the captain there was just no one

available to do it. The company says it does regret any delay to

passengers. There were cheers as the cabin doors opened at 3:45am and the

passengers were left off. The flight departed four hours later.

Detectives investigating a drive`by shooting on Waterloo Bridge last

night are continuing to question three men. The 22`year`old victim

survived after being shot by a gunman on a motorbike. He was

treated for head injuries but has now left hospital. Police say the

area was busy at the time and are appealing for witnesses. Animal

charities are calling on the government for a change in the law

to protect horses which are being abandoned and left to starve in

Essex. They say the recent floods have made the problem worse.

upsetting. Tethered to a date `` gate or dumped at the side of the

road. These are a view of the growing number of horses and ponies

being neglected in Essex. Some have been left for dead. Holly was

pregnant, blind and starving when this sanctuary found her and took

her in. But space has now run out. The farm simply can't take any more

horses. We could easily have doubled the amount of horses we have got in

over the last two months. We are inundated with horses coming in and

we can't help them all and all the big organisations are in the same

boat. One major issue is fly grazing, when an animal is left to

great without permission. It is particularly prevalent in this part

of the country. Nearby another horse has been left. This time between a

busy road and a railway line. It is tethered up, so the grass will not

left long. The recent bad weather has not helped. We are seeing horses

dying in fields, horses cut off in water. This is not a criminal

offence. Something one charity says needs to change. The hands of the

RSPCA and local authorities are tied because we cannot deal with these

horses unless we find out who the owners are and because 70% are not

properly microchips we do not know who the owners are. The government

explained that landowners can bring a civil case against offenders and

that it is looking at ways the law could be tightened. But until then

sanctuary like this is crucial for horses that have suffered years of

neglect. Unite former Arsenal player Dennis Bergkamp has thanked his
