The battle for Tripoli appears to be entering its final stages | :00:06. | :00:10.
tonight. Opposition fighters are now inside Colonel Gaddafi's | :00:10. | :00:15.
compound. After two days of heavy fighting in | :00:15. | :00:19.
the city, rebel forces celebrate and destroy symbols of the Gaddafi | :00:20. | :00:26.
regime. NATO says it's increasingly clear | :00:26. | :00:32.
that the man who has ruled Libya for 42 years is soon to be history. | :00:32. | :00:38.
For the Gaddafi regime, this is the final chapter. The end is near. And | :00:38. | :00:43.
events are moving fast. Colonel Gaddafi's whereabouts is | :00:44. | :00:50.
still unknown. Earlier his son said they would fight on. | :00:50. | :00:55.
We live here and we die here. We are going to win. The people are | :00:55. | :01:00.

Good evening. Welcome to the BBC News at Six. The battle for Tripoli | :02:15. | :02:19.
appears to be entering its final stages tonight. Within the past | :02:19. | :02:22.
hour, rebel fighters have taken control of Colonel Gaddafi's | :02:22. | :02:26.
compound, his power base in the heart of the capital. There have | :02:26. | :02:30.
been celebratory scenes inside the grounds as the fighters there | :02:30. | :02:34.
destroyed symbols of the regime. The dramatic breakthrough comes as | :02:34. | :02:37.
opposition fighters say they now hold much of the western and | :02:37. | :02:41.
northern parts of the capital around Green Square. But pro- | :02:41. | :02:45.
Gaddafi forces still hold the area near the Rixos Hotel where many | :02:45. | :02:50.
journalists are based. For now, the fiercest fighting remains centred | :02:50. | :02:53.
on the Bab Al-Aziziya compound. It is unclear whether the Libyan | :02:53. | :02:58.
leader is still there or has fled. With the first of tonight's reports, | :02:58. | :03:02.
Rupert Wingfield-Hayes looks now at the rebel attack on the Gaddafi | :03:02. | :03:08.
compound. This is the moment millions of | :03:08. | :03:11.
Libyans have been waiting for through six months of bitter | :03:11. | :03:18.
fighting and 42 years of brutal dictatorship. The Libyan leader's | :03:18. | :03:21.
compound has been smashed to pieces by NATO bombing, but the rebels | :03:22. | :03:27.
still found plenty to take their anger out on. Earlier this | :03:27. | :03:30.
afternoon, they had swarmed around the compound walls as NATO jets | :03:31. | :03:36.
swept in and pounded it again from above. With his compound now in | :03:36. | :03:44.
rebel hands, there is still no sign of Colonel Gaddafi himself. We | :03:44. | :03:52.
watched as these rebels set out. Their spirits are once again high. | :03:52. | :04:00.
They believe the end is close. The rebel flag is flying over more and | :04:00. | :04:03.
more neighbourhoods of Tripoli. Bit by bit, the rebels are taking | :04:04. | :04:08.
control. So this is what we have been finding as we have driven into | :04:08. | :04:13.
the western part of Tripoli. These men have formed themselves into a | :04:13. | :04:16.
local militia. They come from this neighbourhood. They have armed | :04:16. | :04:20.
themselves and are setting up checkpoints to defend their | :04:20. | :04:24.
neighbourhoods from Gaddafi's militia. Last night, they killed a | :04:24. | :04:30.
Gaddafi gunman in this car. You see this car? We came last night... | :04:30. | :04:34.
Then he taunts Colonel Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, to come to this | :04:34. | :04:41.
neighbourhood. If you are a man, come here. We die soon, I swear to | :04:41. | :04:44.
God. After months of fear, people are coming back out on to the | :04:44. | :04:48.
streets here, including this British woman out drive bg for the | :04:48. | :04:52.
first time in weeks. -- driving for the first time in weeks. There has | :04:52. | :04:55.
been heavy fighting in the city. There will be. I am sure there will | :04:55. | :04:58.
be. He had his hardliners there who will die for him. Everyone is in | :04:58. | :05:05.
their houses waiting to come out. Really, we are celebrating indoors. | :05:05. | :05:09.
It is frustrating but we just - it is bad news about Saif al-Islam, | :05:09. | :05:14.
but believe me the Libyan people are 90% with the opposition. Even | :05:14. | :05:18.
military officers have joined the rebellion, disgusted at being | :05:18. | :05:22.
ordered to attack civilians. How long do you think it will take | :05:22. | :05:29.
before he is defeated? Maybe two days maximum. It has been a long, | :05:29. | :05:34.
hard and bloody road for these rebels over the last six months. | :05:34. | :05:42.
They are now all desperate for this bloody conflict to be over. | :05:42. | :05:48.
We will talk to Rupert shortly. The Libyan rebels' envoy to the Younis | :05:48. | :05:51.
has said the convoy is in the hands of opposition fighters and the | :05:51. | :05:56.
country will be liberated within 72 hours. With no sign of Colonel | :05:56. | :05:59.
Gaddafi still and pockets of resistance remaining in the capital, | :05:59. | :06:03.
how likely is that? James Robbins reports on a city that still | :06:03. | :06:08.
appears to be divided. The battle for Tripoli remains | :06:08. | :06:13.
intense. As rebels try to push Gaddafi's forces into smaller and | :06:13. | :06:19.
smaller pockets of the capital. As long as the battle rages, civilians | :06:19. | :06:24.
are still at grave risk. We have been hearing from a section of this | :06:24. | :06:27.
frontline where a nurse from Dumbarton is part of a team | :06:27. | :06:36.
overwhelmed by casualties. It is just awful. We have massive arms | :06:36. | :06:43.
fire, small-arms fire and that was for three or four hours last night. | :06:43. | :06:47.
The patients are petrified. My staff are petrified. We are in the | :06:47. | :06:52.
residential area. It has been defended with force. We can see | :06:52. | :06:58.
where in Tripoli Karen Graham was speaking from. The June 11th Clinic | :06:58. | :07:01.
on the frontline beside Colonel Gaddafi's compound. How much do we | :07:01. | :07:05.
know about who controls which parts of Tripoli? From a variety of | :07:05. | :07:09.
credible sources, it seems that large and expanding parts of the | :07:09. | :07:13.
capital are in rebel hands, although not necessarily entirely | :07:13. | :07:17.
secure. These are some of the areas where Gaddafi has lost control | :07:17. | :07:21.
since last Sunday. But tonight, the big breakthrough for the rebels. | :07:21. | :07:25.
They stormed Gaddafi's fortified compound close to the Rixos Hotel | :07:25. | :07:29.
where some foreign journalists are based and where Gaddafi's son, Saif, | :07:29. | :07:34.
appeared last night. You can see the outer wall now breached by the | :07:34. | :07:40.
rebels who have overrun the entire area. In one corner, a substantial | :07:40. | :07:43.
military installation hit by NATO missiles weeks ago. At the centre, | :07:43. | :07:48.
the area used for scores of Gaddafi rallies over the years where rebels | :07:48. | :07:54.
have been pulling down Gaddafi statues. The symbolism of this | :07:54. | :07:58.
compound is immense so taking it has great significance. The rebels | :07:58. | :08:04.
have entered one of Tripoli's airports. It is a possible escape | :08:04. | :08:07.
route for Colonel Gaddafi wrz whereabouts is still unknown. NATO | :08:07. | :08:12.
is clear -- whose whereabouts is still unknown. NATO is clear the | :08:12. | :08:16.
tide against him has turned. This is the final chapter. The end is | :08:16. | :08:23.
near. And events are moving fast. What's clear to everybody is that | :08:23. | :08:29.
Gaddafi is history and the sooner he realises it the better. But the | :08:29. | :08:34.
balt for Tripoli is still not over which means the rebels can -- but | :08:34. | :08:40.
the battle for Tripoli is still not over which means the rebels cannot | :08:40. | :08:46.
yet start rebuilding Tripoli on new foundations. Colonel Gaddafi's son, | :08:46. | :08:49.
Saif al-Islam, appeared before cheering supporters in Tripoli a | :08:49. | :08:51.
day after rebel fighters had claimed he had been captured. | :08:51. | :08:57.
Speaking to the BBC, he said he would continue the fight and would | :08:57. | :09:02.
attack the rats. Matthew Price reports now on the reappearance of | :09:02. | :09:06.
Gaddafi's son. In the dark of the Tripoli night, | :09:06. | :09:10.
Saif al-Islam emerged from the shadows, clearly not under rebel | :09:10. | :09:15.
arrest and here he said to dismiss the rumours. | :09:15. | :09:22.
TRANSLATION: NATO and the West has hi-technology. They stopped TV | :09:22. | :09:26.
broadcasting and radio. They have launched electronic warfare and | :09:26. | :09:33.
through media they have managed to smuggle into the country gangs and | :09:33. | :09:37.
saboteurs but the Libyan people, men and women, has stood firm | :09:37. | :09:43.
against them and managed to break the backbone of the rebels and rats | :09:43. | :09:50.
and gangs. He took a foreign cameraman on a tour of part of the | :09:50. | :09:55.
city. They drove past checkpoints controlled by Gaddafi loyalists, | :09:55. | :10:01.
past groups of people lining up to be given weapons. It was a short | :10:01. | :10:06.
drive, but covered a sizeable area around Colonel Gaddafi's compound | :10:06. | :10:12.
and the south-eastern part of Tripoli. Clearly these are in | :10:12. | :10:16.
government hands. It is our country. These are our people. We live here | :10:16. | :10:22.
and we die here. We are going to win. The people are with us. Saif | :10:22. | :10:26.
al-Islam's convoy has left here, away from our camera he told us | :10:26. | :10:30.
that he has - supporters of Colonel Gaddafi coming in - away from our | :10:30. | :10:33.
cameras he told us that they had broken the backbone of the rebels, | :10:33. | :10:38.
we gave them a hard time, so we are winning, he said. Asked about his | :10:38. | :10:43.
father, Gaddafi, is he safe and well and in Tripoli? He said yes, | :10:43. | :10:46.
of course. Saif al-Islam appeared to be brimming with confidence, | :10:46. | :10:51.
pumped pull of adrenaline. He was smiling. It is clear loyalists are | :10:51. | :10:56.
fighting back in parts of Tripoli. The sudden appearance of Saif al- | :10:56. | :11:02.
Islam said just yesterday to have been captured by the rebels will | :11:02. | :11:08.
only embolden them further. The body that hopes to take charge | :11:08. | :11:11.
of Libya, the National Transitional Council, is watching events closely | :11:11. | :11:15.
and says it hopes to send officials to Tripoli as early as tomorrow. | :11:15. | :11:18.
Leading figures say they are keen to begin the process of | :11:18. | :11:22.
establishing a new government as soon as possible. Paul Wood looks | :11:22. | :11:27.
now at the aims of the rebel leaders. | :11:27. | :11:31.
They are students, businessmen, teachers, most holding a gun for | :11:31. | :11:36.
the first time. They rose up with no outside help. They would have | :11:36. | :11:41.
been crushed but for NATO's help. Now the rebels stand on the brink | :11:41. | :11:45.
of victory, already recognised by many as Libya's legitimate | :11:45. | :11:51.
government. Are they united? The rebels National Transitional | :11:51. | :11:55.
Council is a mix of factions with little more in common than dislike | :11:55. | :12:00.
of Colonel Gaddafi. It is an uneasy coalition between the east and west | :12:00. | :12:04.
of the country, Islamist and secular, former members of the | :12:04. | :12:12.
regime and long-standing exiles. is going to be a mix of different | :12:12. | :12:17.
ideas but if they work within the same framework, then everybody is | :12:17. | :12:23.
free to have their own thoughts and say what they think. So will the | :12:23. | :12:26.
rebels succeed? First, they need to remove Gaddafi and their | :12:26. | :12:31.
credibility was badly dented when his son, Saif al-Islam, appeared in | :12:31. | :12:36.
Tripoli. The rebels had said he was in custody. But even if Saif and | :12:36. | :12:44.
his father are sent to The Hague, a new government will leave many of | :12:44. | :12:48.
those who have fought for them. have learnt from experience where | :12:48. | :12:56.
the police and the security left their jobs and we had a problem to | :12:56. | :13:02.
bring them back. They are a measured part of rebuilding the | :13:02. | :13:05.
security. The rebel political leadership have said there can be | :13:05. | :13:09.
no revenge killings of Gaddafi loyalists. They would risk losing | :13:09. | :13:13.
the support of the NATO countries who got them this far. It would | :13:13. | :13:18.
also undermine the legitimacy of the new government. So no single | :13:18. | :13:24.
forceful and charismatic political personality has yet emerged, | :13:24. | :13:29.
somebody who can heal the divisions. After more than four decades of | :13:29. | :13:34.
rule by Colonel Gaddafi, Libyans may feel that another strong man is | :13:34. | :13:39.
what they don't want. The rebels insist the change-over of power | :13:39. | :13:44.
will happen within the rule of law. There can be no bloodbath in | :13:44. | :13:49.
Tripoli. The character of the Libyan revolution will be tested | :13:49. | :13:57.
and revealed in the coming days. Let's return to Tripoli now. Our | :13:57. | :13:59.
Middle East Correspondent, Rupert Wingfield-Hayes, joins us on the | :13:59. | :14:04.
line. Give us a sense of the situation at the moment, then? | :14:04. | :14:10.
I can tell you a little over an hour ago, when the rebels overran | :14:10. | :14:14.
Colonel Gaddafi's compound, the city erupted in gunfire. Initially, | :14:14. | :14:18.
we weren't sure whether this was some sort of counterattack going on | :14:18. | :14:23.
and there was a renewed battle. It became clear with the honking of | :14:23. | :14:27.
car horns that this very, very intense barrage of gunfire across | :14:27. | :14:32.
the city was in celebration. It's been going on - it is still going | :14:32. | :14:34.
on now. People are out on the streets, they are driving their | :14:34. | :14:39.
cars, they are blowing their horns. There is going to be a monstrous | :14:39. | :14:42.
celebration here in Tripoli tonight at the news that Colonel Gaddafi's | :14:42. | :14:47.
compound has fallen. There is also still uncertainty though because I | :14:47. | :14:51.
heard just very recently, within the last 20 minutes, that people | :14:51. | :14:55.
driving down the ring road this afternoon have still been sprayed | :14:55. | :15:00.
with gunfire from certain neighbourhoods by, it is suspected, | :15:00. | :15:03.
the last remnants of Gaddafi supporters within the city. It is | :15:03. | :15:07.
not a totally peaceful situation here. But there is a massive | :15:07. | :15:12.
celebration beginning. No. As you say, NATO very clear, they say that | :15:12. | :15:16.
the country will be liberated within 72 hours. That would be your | :15:16. | :15:26.
:15:26. | :15:27. | ||
I think that we are going to see Tripoli within the next 24-48 hours, | :15:27. | :15:32.
probably. But there is a big question left here. Colonel Gaddafi | :15:32. | :15:36.
and his son have not been found. We don't know if they are in Tripoli, | :15:36. | :15:40.
if they have escaped to another part of Libya or are hiding here. | :15:40. | :15:46.
Until they are caught, this will not be completely over. | :15:46. | :15:51.

A judge in New York has dropped all sexual assault charges against | :16:49. | :16:52.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn. The former head of the International Monetary | :16:52. | :16:57.
Fund had been accused of attacking a hotel chambermaid last May. Let's | :16:57. | :17:01.
go live to the court and our correspondent. | :17:01. | :17:06.
A short time ago, Dominique Strauss-Kahn spoke about what he | :17:06. | :17:10.
called the nightmare that had lasted three months. It ended today | :17:10. | :17:16.
at this court house in a matter of minutes. Arriving at court for the | :17:16. | :17:21.
final time as a defendant. Throughout this case, Dominique | :17:21. | :17:29.
Strauss-Kahn have remained silent, waiting for justice. Today, a judge | :17:29. | :17:35.
dismissed all charges against him. The former head of the IMF had been | :17:35. | :17:39.
accused of sexually assaulting a 32 year-old hotel chambermaid in a | :17:39. | :17:42.
luxury suite. Forensic testing showed there had been a brief | :17:42. | :17:49.
sexual encounter. But the evidence did not prove that it was forced. | :17:49. | :17:53.
Yesterday prosecutors bluntly told Miss Diallo that a jury would | :17:53. | :17:58.
simply not believe her. She had repeatedly changed her story and | :17:58. | :18:02.
lied to investigators, including about an earlier allegation of rape. | :18:02. | :18:06.

those that supported me throughout this period. In France, Dominique | :18:42. | :18:46.
Strauss-Kahn had been considered a strong contender to win next year's | :18:46. | :18:51.
presidential election. As Paris died jested events in New York | :18:51. | :18:57.

not vote for him even though I think he is the best one to run the | :19:09. | :19:16.
country. It is a bit too late for him to run in the presidential. But | :19:16. | :19:21.
if he was a candidate, I would definitely vote for him. For New | :19:21. | :19:26.
York, it has been the highest profile case in decades, commanding | :19:26. | :19:33.
worldwide attention. It has ended in a stunning U-turn by prosecutors. | :19:33. | :19:37.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn still faces a civil lawsuit and in the very | :19:37. | :19:40.
short term he has to stay here in America pending a procedural appeal | :19:40. | :19:48.
by lawyers. Most people think that appeal will fail, so to all intents | :19:48. | :19:51.
and purposes this criminal case is over. | :19:51. | :19:55.
More than 1400 people have now appeared in court in connection | :19:55. | :19:58.
with the riots in English cities earlier this month. A high | :19:58. | :20:03.
proportion have been refused bail. Metropolitan Police has asked for | :20:03. | :20:07.
all those charged to be kept in custody, it has emerged. Just | :20:07. | :20:12.
picking up on that point, a lot of activity since the riots, but why | :20:12. | :20:18.
has bail been refused? Many people still have their cases to be heard. | :20:18. | :20:22.
Only 157 have been convicted so far, so the courts have to consider that. | :20:22. | :20:26.
There is a police strategy that we are aware of that was taking place | :20:26. | :20:31.
during the riots. We have a copy of it. If people are going to be | :20:31. | :20:34.
charged and there is evidence that means the threshold for charging, | :20:34. | :20:39.
in the police's view, they should be kept in custody. The police have | :20:39. | :20:43.
been asking the courts to keep people in custody and 62% have been | :20:43. | :20:48.
remanded in custody which is six times the normal level. Police are | :20:48. | :20:50.
pushing charges even when they do not have all the evidence that they | :20:51. | :20:54.
might have. They are giving themselves time to go through all | :20:54. | :20:58.
of the CCTV footage, for example. They can do that under the rules | :20:58. | :21:06.
but it is unusual and normally only used in unusual places. The police | :21:06. | :21:09.
are saying people need to be kept in custody to prevent them doing | :21:09. | :21:14.
anything else, such as protesting or rioting and causing trouble. We | :21:14. | :21:18.
have more convictions today. A man convicted of trying to persuade | :21:18. | :21:22.
people to riot on Facebook, and finally a Guardian poll. Seven out | :21:23. | :21:27.
of 10 people responded to that saying that the people involved in | :21:27. | :21:32.
writing should face tougher sentences. Thank you. -- involved | :21:32. | :21:39.
in riots. Over 20 years ago, 96 Liverpool | :21:40. | :21:45.
supporters lost their lives at the Hillsborough football stadium. And | :21:45. | :21:48.
e-petition has gathered 100,000 signatures asking for the release | :21:48. | :21:52.
of papers which include conversations with the then Prime | :21:52. | :21:55.
Minister Margaret Thatcher. They say in Liverpool that they will | :21:55. | :21:59.
never forget. In a city where football is almost like a religion, | :21:59. | :22:03.
22 years after the Hillsborough disaster the tragedy is never far | :22:03. | :22:10.
from people's minds. This couple lost their son at Hillsborough. He | :22:10. | :22:14.
had just got married and was a keen footballer himself when he died | :22:14. | :22:21.
aged 27. His parents say they are still looking for answers. They | :22:21. | :22:25.
need to know exactly what happened that day. We need to get closer and | :22:25. | :22:30.
get some peace of mind. The word that has always been with me is | :22:30. | :22:39.
justice. I must get justice for the 96 that died that day. And make the | :22:39. | :22:43.
people that caused that disaster responsible bylaw and face the | :22:43. | :22:48.
consequences. In 1989, Liverpool were playing in an FA Cup semi- | :22:48. | :22:52.
final at Hillsborough when fans became crushed in the stands. Lack | :22:52. | :22:56.
of police control was blamed. The then Prime Minister Margaret | :22:56. | :22:59.
Thatcher was briefed on the tragedy, and there is now a campaign for | :22:59. | :23:04.
those Government papers to be released. Two years ago, after the | :23:04. | :23:08.
20th anniversary of Hillsborough was commemorated at Anfield, an | :23:08. | :23:13.
independent panel into the tragedy was set up. The Government has said | :23:13. | :23:16.
they will not release the Margaret Thatcher papers now but they will | :23:16. | :23:19.
be made public in due course because they will be given to that | :23:19. | :23:23.
panel. Kenny Dalglish managed Liverpool then, as he does now, and | :23:23. | :23:26.
has signed the petition. He understands that the papers will | :23:26. | :23:30.
not be released immediately. don't think anybody has a problem | :23:30. | :23:34.
with that. The most important people in the whole process are the | :23:34. | :23:39.
families, and the families seemed quite relaxed about it. | :23:39. | :23:43.
Independent Panel was examining 40,000 documents relating to the | :23:43. | :23:48.
disaster and the aftermath. The job of the Hillsborough Independent | :23:48. | :23:52.
Panel is to demonstrate how all the documents once released add to | :23:52. | :23:58.
public understanding of the disaster. At the 20th anniversary | :23:58. | :24:03.
ceremony, the crowd chanted justice for the 96. There are thousands | :24:03. | :24:11.
here that say they are still waiting. | :24:11. | :24:15.
Amy Winehouse's family have issued a statement saying that toxicology | :24:15. | :24:18.
tests have shown there were no illegal substances in her body when | :24:19. | :24:22.
she died last month. The results indicate that alcohol was present | :24:23. | :24:32.
:24:33. | :24:33. | ||
but it is not yet clear that played a role in the singer's death. | :24:33. | :24:35.
Amy Winehouse's death was accompanied by many headlines | :24:35. | :24:40.
claiming it was linked to drugs. Her drug use during her life was no | :24:40. | :24:44.
secret. At times a family despaired at what they feared was a downward | :24:44. | :24:49.
spiral. While it was claimed by her father that she had managed to stay | :24:49. | :24:53.
free of drugs in the months before her death, the suspicions remained. | :24:53. | :24:59.
In a statement issued by her family, they say toxicology testing has | :24:59. | :25:02.
shown there were no illegal substances in her body. There was | :25:02. | :25:05.
alcohol, but whether that had any role in her death cannot yet be | :25:06. | :25:11.
determined. The area in front of her home in London has now become a | :25:11. | :25:16.
bedraggled shrine to the singer. Each day a handful of fans pass by | :25:16. | :25:19.
to pay their respects. One month on, the cause of her death is still not | :25:19. | :25:25.
known. The statement from the coroner today simply added they had | :25:25. | :25:28.
disclosed the results of toxicology testing to all properly interested | :25:29. | :25:32.
persons in the inquest into the death of Amy Winehouse. They said | :25:32. | :25:35.
disclosure of further evidence would follow in due course and the | :25:35. | :25:39.
cause of her death would be determined at the final inquest | :25:39. | :25:46.
hearing set for 25th October, 2011. Nevertheless it does not erase the | :25:46. | :25:50.
excesses, the self-destructive behaviour during her lifetime. Her | :25:50. | :25:54.
father said she had been clean of drugs for three years. He wants to | :25:54. | :25:57.
remember her with a foundation, tellingly a foundation that aims to | :25:57. | :26:07.
:26:07. | :26:08. | ||
Now it is time to take a look at the weather. Hello. | :26:08. | :26:13.
Hello. It should be largely dry for many of us overnight but it will be | :26:13. | :26:18.
damp for some of you, even if it is not raining. It will turn | :26:18. | :26:22.
increasingly misty. If we fire up the graphics, if they work... | :26:22. | :26:27.
Anyway, let me tell you what will happen. Damp and misty through | :26:27. | :26:32.
tonight in many parts. Rain in eastern England and then later in | :26:32. | :26:35.
the night we will see some showers around, particularly in Northern | :26:35. | :26:39.
Ireland when the night will finish on a wet note. Their budget should | :26:39. | :26:45.
not drop below 10 degrees. -- temperatures should not drop. In | :26:45. | :26:51.
Northern Ireland, wet weather before the sunshine comes out in | :26:51. | :26:55.
the morning. Some of the showers in the Western Isles could be heavy. | :26:55. | :27:01.
Further East, brighter moments with some misty patches. Overnight | :27:01. | :27:05.
showers continue into North West England but in eastern areas we | :27:05. | :27:09.
will see the most mist and fog. Some drizzle in parts of East | :27:09. | :27:13.
Anglia and the South East corner. That will quickly clear. The | :27:13. | :27:16.
Midlands and the South coast will see more brightness than this | :27:16. | :27:20.
morning. There will be bright skies around across the South West but we | :27:20. | :27:25.
will see some heavy showers on the go at this stage in the day. Heavy | :27:25. | :27:32.
showers into western parts of Wales but eastern areas will be dry. The | :27:32. | :27:36.
showers are fairly fragmented and they will push in across many parts | :27:36. | :27:40.
of western Scotland, West and Wales and England. The further East you | :27:40. | :27:45.
are, it will be drier and brighter. Temperatures will be five to eight | :27:45. | :27:51.
degrees warmer than we saw this afternoon, peaking at about 23. | :27:51. | :27:56.
More persistent rain will sweep from the South West into the North | :27:56. | :28:00.
East overnight. Scattered showers in the West with some sunshine on | :28:00. | :28:05.
Thursday and as we go into the weekend, the showers will ease. | :28:05. | :28:10.
