Good evening. This is BBC Newsline. The headlines this evening: puts | :00:27. | :00:31.
Catholic teenagers attacked by a loyalist gang, while working on a | :00:31. | :00:41.
:00:41. | :00:42. | ||
Belfast for location. Sean Quinn defiant after his | :00:42. | :00:46.
insolvency claim that overturned. never had to mislead anyone in my | :00:46. | :00:50.
life. And never misled anyone in 60 years. | :00:50. | :00:57.
Harrowing evidence from the police officer who was with Stephen -- | :00:57. | :01:04.
Stephen Carroll. We hear from the family of the top motorcycle road | :01:04. | :01:07.
racer, Martin Finnegan. 3.5 years after his death, the findings of | :01:07. | :01:10.
the inquest into his fatal crash are revealed. | :01:10. | :01:13.
And we can expect a drop in temperatures later this week. I | :01:13. | :01:23.
:01:23. | :01:25. | ||
will have the weather later in the Catholic teenagers have been | :01:25. | :01:28.
reliving the terror of a sectarian beating in south Belfast. They were | :01:28. | :01:32.
attacked by a gang while working as extras on a film location in the | :01:32. | :01:36.
Village area on Friday afternoon. One of the teenagers says he was | :01:36. | :01:39.
beaten, then stuffed into a rubbish bin. He and his friends have been | :01:39. | :01:48.
telling us how they feared for their lives. | :01:48. | :01:53.
This is the face of James, whose one day as a film extra ended in a | :01:53. | :01:57.
century in beating. The 18-year-old Catholic and his friends had been | :01:57. | :02:01.
hired by a production company to work in the loyalist Village area | :02:01. | :02:05.
of south Belfast. But several hours into filming, the mood turned | :02:06. | :02:12.
hostile, as a crowd of locals shouted sectarian abuse the stop | :02:13. | :02:16.
they were shouting, you're not getting out with your lives. | :02:16. | :02:25.
You're getting stabbed to. I did not think I would get out. | :02:25. | :02:29.
James became separated from the other extras, as the film crew | :02:29. | :02:33.
repaired -- prepared to leave the area. The other extras were | :02:33. | :02:41.
attacked in a car, as it was driven away. James Turley was chased and | :02:41. | :02:45.
set upon. He did not want to face the cameras today. He told me how | :02:45. | :02:50.
he was assaulted, but inside of wheelie bin, before he escaped by | :02:50. | :02:55.
flagging down a passing motorist. There is no doubt in my mind that I | :02:55. | :03:05.
:03:05. | :03:06. | ||
was really lucky to get out. I just can't believe it. Can you | :03:06. | :03:09.
understand why people would be driven to do something like this? | :03:09. | :03:13.
No, I do not know why anyone would do this to anyone. | :03:13. | :03:18.
The film-makers had moved location today, to a city-centre bar. They | :03:18. | :03:22.
said they had spoken to the village community before the shoot, and had | :03:22. | :03:26.
not expected trouble. Health and safety is of paramount | :03:26. | :03:30.
importance, so we did everything in advance to make sure. It is very | :03:30. | :03:35.
difficult if you get a bad element turning up on set, deciding to | :03:35. | :03:39.
cause trouble. It was an unfortunate incident, and it was | :03:39. | :03:43.
isolated, Belfast is still a fantastic period to come and make | :03:43. | :03:49.
films. A young lad was left for dead in a wheelie bin. That is a | :03:49. | :03:55.
blight on the city. What we need to do is continue the work to ensure | :03:55. | :04:00.
that does not happen again. community are resilient enough to | :04:00. | :04:04.
pick themselves up from this. This is not reflective of our community, | :04:04. | :04:13.
and these films do not represent us. We want to take lives for a word in | :04:13. | :04:19.
this community. In a statement, the film crew said it was not the | :04:19. | :04:27.
typical positive story of the film until -- film and television | :04:27. | :04:31.
industry. We asked the police for an | :04:31. | :04:32.
interview about this, but no-one was available. | :04:32. | :04:35.
The High Court has ruled that the Fermanagh businessman Sean Quinn | :04:35. | :04:38.
was not entitled to declare himself bankrupt in Northern Ireland. | :04:38. | :04:41.
The southern bank to which Mr Quinn is hugely in debt has already begun | :04:41. | :04:44.
proceedings to have him made bankrupt in the Republic's courts. | :04:44. | :04:47.
Penalties there are much tougher. In a rare interview, the former | :04:47. | :04:55.
billionaire has described the process as a sham. | :04:55. | :04:59.
Sean Quinn has lost his billion- pound business empire. Today he was | :04:59. | :05:03.
on the losing side again, this time in a court case over his bankruptcy. | :05:04. | :05:09.
He declared himself insolvent here in November, over a huge debt owed | :05:09. | :05:14.
to the former Anglo Irish Bank. But the Dublin-based bank challenged | :05:14. | :05:19.
the move. It argued that Mr Quinn was not based in Northern Ireland, | :05:19. | :05:23.
and have no right to go bankrupt here. It wants to us -- pursue him | :05:23. | :05:27.
for bankruptcy. He argued he had workedfrom an office in this | :05:28. | :05:37.
:05:38. | :05:40. | ||
industrial estate in County He said on the balance of | :05:40. | :05:44.
probabilities, they had been prepared to later than Mr Quinn had | :05:44. | :05:49.
declared, and allowed him to bolster his case. He denied he set | :05:49. | :05:55.
out to mislead the court. I have never misled anyone. I | :05:55. | :06:05.
:06:05. | :06:08. | ||
always paid my way, everything I promised I always did. There was | :06:08. | :06:16.
never any question,... Mr Justice found in favour of the bank, and | :06:16. | :06:20.
said Sean Quinn was based in Kent are given, and annulled the | :06:21. | :06:23.
Northern Ireland bankruptcy. What does this mean for the former | :06:23. | :06:29.
billionaire, Sean Quinn? It is likely he will now be bankrupted in | :06:29. | :06:31.
the republic, which will prevent him starting a new business for | :06:32. | :06:35.
five years. In Northern Ireland he would only have had to wait for one | :06:35. | :06:40.
year. He will also be pursued for the money he owes to the Anglo | :06:40. | :06:48.
Irish Bank. How will they get it back? I have grand kids now, and I | :06:48. | :06:57.
have reminded myself that what Anglo Irish Bank has done for the | :06:57. | :07:01.
Quinn Group is like someone taking a sledgehammer to a child's toy. | :07:01. | :07:06.
Absolutely destroyed it. Today is not the last time they will face | :07:06. | :07:13.
each other in the courtroom. The bank has already started other | :07:13. | :07:17.
cases against him, here and in Russia. | :07:17. | :07:20.
The trial of the two men accused of murdering Constable Stephen Carroll | :07:20. | :07:23.
has heard evidence from police officers who were at the scene of | :07:23. | :07:26.
the shooting in March 2009. One of them said when he realised | :07:26. | :07:33.
his colleague was dead he did not know what to do. | :07:33. | :07:36.
Constable Stephen Carroll was shot dead, when he and colleagues were | :07:36. | :07:42.
responding to an emergency call about vandalism here in Craigavon. | :07:42. | :07:47.
Two police cars attended that night, one was driven by Constable Stephen | :07:47. | :07:51.
Carroll, and the other was sent from Portadown. Today the police | :07:51. | :07:54.
officer who was the passenger of that car gave evidence, and was | :07:54. | :08:00.
clearly distressed. He said he heard the shots and got back into | :08:00. | :08:04.
his car, and just sat and looked down the cul-de-sac towards the | :08:04. | :08:12.
other vehicle. He said he store Stephen Carroll's passengers at | :08:12. | :08:16.
crouched at the side of the vehicle, and one was pointing a gun. He said | :08:16. | :08:21.
he tried to move towards them, but the officer who had begun in that | :08:21. | :08:26.
them. He said they obviously forgot we were there, but we spoke to them. | :08:26. | :08:30.
We said, get into the can and we will get out of you. He said, my | :08:30. | :08:38.
driver is dead. He said a bad moment, I was shocked, disbelief. I | :08:38. | :08:44.
did not truly know what to do. Lots of ideas go through your head. Do | :08:44. | :08:49.
you get out, do you stay in? He said, in the end I did not do an | :08:49. | :08:54.
awful lot. The driver said she heard the cracks of the gunshot, | :08:54. | :08:59.
and told her colleague to get in. She said she heard shouting coming | :08:59. | :09:05.
from Constable Carole's car, my driver is dead. -- Constable | :09:05. | :09:11.
Stephen Carroll. Others described how they tried to help paramedics. | :09:11. | :09:17.
Stephen, they said, stay with us. His widow Kate, seen here with a | :09:17. | :09:22.
white handbag, cried in court, as she heard details about her | :09:22. | :09:32.
:09:32. | :09:32. | ||
husband's fatal industries -- injuries. The two men deny the | :09:32. | :09:38.
charges. Still to come: Should he stay or | :09:38. | :09:41.
should he go? Talks on the future of the justice ministry. We have | :09:41. | :09:46.
the latest. Beragh residents plead for urgent | :09:46. | :09:51.
help before the floods come again. These are obviously the wrong | :09:51. | :09:55.
pictures. Also there will be an inquest into the motorcyclist's | :09:55. | :09:59.
death. Now the latest in the quest by Loreto Girls' Grammar in Omagh | :09:59. | :10:03.
to get a new school. It has been lobbying for 20 years | :10:03. | :10:07.
for new premises and hopes were raised by a succession of education | :10:07. | :10:08.
ministers who said it was high priority. | :10:08. | :10:11.
Two years ago, after Loreto refused to be rebuilt on the former | :10:11. | :10:14.
Lisanelly army base in the town, the Department of Education said | :10:14. | :10:17.
the school's plan did not comply with its rules. | :10:17. | :10:20.
As Maggie Tagart reports, an Appeal Court ruling has brought good and | :10:20. | :10:27.
bad news for the school. A new building for the grammar | :10:27. | :10:31.
school was said to be urgent, and money to replace it seemed assured. | :10:31. | :10:36.
But then the idea of a multi- school campus here, won the support | :10:36. | :10:41.
of the Sinn Fein Education Minister. The school rejected the idea, and | :10:41. | :10:44.
claimed the Department of Education had broken promises to rebuild. A | :10:44. | :10:49.
review last year concluded it was justified in expecting the new | :10:49. | :10:56.
school. They said the grammar school had a legitimate expectation, | :10:56. | :11:00.
which was described as the icing on the cake as the board of governors. | :11:00. | :11:10.
:11:10. | :11:14. | ||
The school won backing on his other complaint, that it should not have | :11:14. | :11:18.
been removed from a list of schools that take all the boxes for | :11:18. | :11:25.
rebuilding. We're feeling vindicated, and we have got our | :11:25. | :11:29.
judgment and costs completely covered. The judge said the | :11:29. | :11:33.
Department of Education was wrong to have rejected the plans as non- | :11:33. | :11:36.
compliant, which puts the school back on the list for rebuilding, | :11:36. | :11:40.
but there were only to be a lot of talking between the school and the | :11:40. | :11:45.
Department and tell that happens. We desperately need a new school, | :11:45. | :11:53.
and that is our responsibility, to make sure we get proper facilities | :11:53. | :12:00.
for the children. What are the chances in this financial climate? | :12:01. | :12:04.
The school needs to be built, the money will have to beef found. | :12:04. | :12:08.
Minister for Education says he is keen to move forward and the best | :12:08. | :12:13.
interest of the young people in the area. | :12:13. | :12:16.
The future of the Department of Employment and Learning has been | :12:16. | :12:18.
raised at multi-party talks at Stormont Castle. Although the | :12:18. | :12:21.
discussions have been called to deal with the future of the | :12:21. | :12:24.
Department of Justice, cuts to the number of departments are also on | :12:24. | :12:34.
:12:34. | :12:36. | ||
the agenda. Mark Devenport joins me now from Stormont Castle, where the | :12:36. | :12:46.
:12:46. | :12:58. | ||
That is the department that deals with universities. It is involved | :12:58. | :13:04.
because of the Alliance got enough votes, enough seeds to take that | :13:04. | :13:11.
department back in their own right. That has led to accusations of | :13:11. | :13:14.
unfairness and one of the ways in which the bigger parties are | :13:14. | :13:19.
considering dealing with this is potentially doing away with that | :13:19. | :13:23.
department altogether, splitting up its other functions to other | :13:23. | :13:30.
departments, maybe to the Sinn Fein to control the education, and DUP | :13:31. | :13:35.
would go to another department, and maybe that would resolve it. | :13:35. | :13:37.
How is the Alliance Party responding? | :13:37. | :13:42.
They acknowledge there is a problem injustice that has to be resolved | :13:42. | :13:45.
and that streamlining might be a good thing, but they say they | :13:45. | :13:49.
should not be a short-term fix like this. You shouldn't fix these two | :13:49. | :13:53.
problems up like this because it is convenient, so they are resisting | :13:53. | :14:00.
it, but the bigger parties are considering it. Two options involve | :14:00. | :14:05.
doing away with that Department of Employment. | :14:05. | :14:10.
Going by actor Justus, David Ford was given the job because no one | :14:10. | :14:12.
could be trusted. Nothing is changing there. | :14:12. | :14:20.
He would probably be safe, depending on the system they go for. | :14:20. | :14:27.
That is because when there was those talks on the powers, Sinn | :14:27. | :14:33.
Fein didn't want of the DUP justice minister to have take control, so | :14:33. | :14:43.
:14:43. | :14:48. | ||
that is why he is in that position. The independent Bishop Pat Buckley | :14:48. | :14:51.
has been in court in connection with alleged sham marriages. The | :14:51. | :14:54.
59-year-old, on the right of the picture, sat in the public gallery | :14:54. | :14:57.
during a short hearing at Belfast Magistrates Court. He's accused of | :14:57. | :14:59.
conspiracy to defraud the Home Secretary by facilitating foreign | :14:59. | :15:02.
nationals to gain entry to the UK. There are 15 other defendants in | :15:02. | :15:09.
the case. Pat Buckley says he's done nothing wrong. I have never | :15:09. | :15:13.
knowingly celebrated what is commonly called a sham marriage. | :15:13. | :15:20.
The decision by the PSNI and Public Prosecution Service to prosecute me | :15:20. | :15:25.
is groundless. And is highly suspect. I think it represents an | :15:25. | :15:30.
attempt by the establishment to silence a priest who has been | :15:30. | :15:38.
working with the modernised for 36 years. -- with the marginalised. | :15:38. | :15:41.
The biggest gas users in Northern Ireland could save tens of | :15:41. | :15:43.
thousands of pounds in their annual bills through new price controls | :15:43. | :15:46.
which were announced today by the Utility Regulator. Our business and | :15:46. | :15:48.
economics editor Jim Fitzpatrick has the details. | :15:48. | :15:52.
Tens of thousands of pounds of savings. Thankfully, we don't have | :15:52. | :15:57.
those sorts of bills, but who does? Big industry, and they have big gas | :15:57. | :16:01.
bills and energy prices in general are higher than the rest of the UK. | :16:01. | :16:08.
They are regulating Phoenix Natural Gas by deciding how moderate can | :16:08. | :16:12.
spend and invest and taking millions out of the company. For us | :16:12. | :16:16.
domestic consumers what this could mean is 10 a year saved in gas | :16:16. | :16:22.
bills. So not a massive amount for the domestic user but for the big | :16:22. | :16:26.
industry, they reckon that 50 companies will be able to save | :16:26. | :16:30.
10,000 a year under these new measures. When will they see that? | :16:30. | :16:36.
Not until 2013 because these will be finally agreed in the following | :16:36. | :16:42.
months. Those will then kick in finally at that stage. The parent | :16:42. | :16:46.
company of Phoenix Natural Gas is not happy because these measures | :16:46. | :16:51.
could take 17% off the value of that company so they are not happy, | :16:51. | :16:55.
and they could appeal to the Competition Commission for. | :16:55. | :16:58.
would they put up an argument against the reductions? They are | :16:58. | :17:05.
making healthy profits. They do have a good rate of return, however | :17:05. | :17:10.
what they will say is that the disincentive for other companies to | :17:10. | :17:16.
invest, we talked about the born market, but one of the rating | :17:16. | :17:20.
agencies has signalled it may have to downgrade Phoenix Natural Gas | :17:20. | :17:25.
because of these regulations, which could push the cost of debt up and | :17:25. | :17:31.
could lead to higher gas prices. Ironic if. | :17:32. | :17:35.
-- ironically. "Make our homes safe." That was the | :17:35. | :17:38.
demand from residents in the flood- prone village of Beragh to Rivers | :17:38. | :17:41.
Agency staff at a meeting last night. Work on a flood prevention | :17:41. | :17:44.
scheme in the Tyrone village is due to begin next year, but local | :17:44. | :17:47.
people say that's too late. Our district journalist Louise Cullen | :17:47. | :17:49.
was there. Arriving for the meeting last night, | :17:49. | :17:54.
people in Beragh quietly about what they wanted. We have been going on | :17:54. | :17:58.
these promises for such a long time and no work has been started on the | :17:58. | :18:02.
ground so we want people to make their commitments, stick to them | :18:02. | :18:05.
and see work starting. They were told about the work going on | :18:05. | :18:12.
already. Early-warning device has been tested and clearing the river. | :18:12. | :18:17.
An old railway bridge is to be removed and there are plans to | :18:17. | :18:20.
widen the bridge over the river but it won't happen quickly. Week are | :18:20. | :18:26.
in the early stages of developing the over all option appraisal for | :18:26. | :18:30.
the alleviation scheme. That is going to take time to be developed | :18:30. | :18:34.
and we are exploring a lot of different ways of solving the | :18:34. | :18:39.
problems it. That wasn't good enough for some. It is just like | :18:39. | :18:45.
the last time. It is a step forward to where we want to get to. With | :18:45. | :18:48.
work on the alleviation scheme expected to get under way next year, | :18:49. | :18:53.
tonight's meeting was about answering some of the questions | :18:53. | :18:57.
what form the scheme will take and what work needs to be done. But | :18:57. | :19:03.
residents will not be certain and they will be watching the river | :19:03. | :19:08.
bank anxiously every time it rains. The inquest into the death of one | :19:08. | :19:12.
of Ireland's top motorcycle road racers concluded today in Belfast. | :19:12. | :19:15.
With more on that, here's Stephen Watson. | :19:15. | :19:18.
Martin Finnegan lost his life after a high-speed crash at the Tandragee | :19:18. | :19:23.
100 road race in May 2008. Today, the inquest into his death found | :19:23. | :19:26.
that in all probability a loose bolt caused the brakes on his | :19:26. | :19:31.
machine to fail. His family, who spoke to me after the findings were | :19:31. | :19:34.
revealed, said they were satisfied and that it was good day in | :19:34. | :19:43.
extremely bad circumstances. As a motorcycle road racer, Martin | :19:43. | :19:50.
Finnegan knew the higher risks involved in the sport. But when he | :19:50. | :19:54.
lost his life after a crash at around 150 miles per hour, there | :19:54. | :19:58.
was simply -- there was simply nothing he could have done. Brake | :19:58. | :20:03.
failure was the reason given for his fatal accident. A verdict | :20:03. | :20:07.
welcomed by his family. Why do you think it took so long to get the | :20:07. | :20:12.
outcome? I am not going to put the blame on anyone but I think | :20:12. | :20:16.
investigations should start immediately when a rider has an | :20:16. | :20:22.
accident and, from there, it should be taken step-by-step, not in bits | :20:22. | :20:27.
and pieces, and no reports written. You shouldn't have to as a family, | :20:27. | :20:31.
as a young widow with children, go and find your own forensic experts | :20:32. | :20:38.
to investigate. That should be done for you. It is their job to do it. | :20:38. | :20:41.
Why do we have to get the truth ourselves? That is a shame, but we | :20:41. | :20:46.
did get it, we are delighted, and the three-and-a-half-year us have | :20:47. | :20:52.
been extremely difficult but today was worth it all. The case has cost | :20:52. | :20:55.
the family thousands of pounds but today they believe the outcome | :20:55. | :20:58.
clears Martin Finnegan of any rider error. | :20:58. | :21:00.
Cliftonville returned to winnings way last night against Dungannon | :21:00. | :21:03.
Swifts and this man had plenty to smile about. Barry Johnston scored | :21:03. | :21:07.
a wonder-goal to give Cliftonville a much needed 2-1 win. Thomas | :21:07. | :21:16.
Niblock reports. You are unlikely to see a more | :21:16. | :21:19.
exciting finish to a football match in quite a while. | :21:19. | :21:22.
After only one win in the last four games, Cliftonville knew their | :21:23. | :21:27.
title ambitions depended upon three points against Dungannon Swifts, | :21:27. | :21:37.
:21:37. | :21:37. | ||
and three points they grabbed. To be fair, our new signing has | :21:37. | :21:42.
just come on. He just let it off, he was lucky enough to touch it and | :21:42. | :21:49.
hit it. Thankfully, it went in. Cliftonville took the lead in the | :21:49. | :21:59.
:21:59. | :22:02. | ||
first half. Dungannon Swifts made it 2-1. Then Cliftonville were | :22:03. | :22:08.
reduced to 10 men. A second yellow card was given. Two minutes later, | :22:08. | :22:13.
they were down to nine. Another player red-carded for this | :22:13. | :22:23.
challenge. The home side held on in a frantic few minutes... Just about. | :22:23. | :22:31.
It is complete chaos! Are Cliftonville good enough to win the | :22:31. | :22:35.
league this season? At the minute, we need to improve | :22:35. | :22:44.
vastly, I would say. We have had three clean sheets the whole season. | :22:44. | :22:50.
That is not League title-winning form. We need to title -- tighten | :22:50. | :22:54.
up defensively. We need to score goals. If we are conceding goals, | :22:54. | :23:02.
we are not going to win the leak. Clean sheets win the league. | :23:02. | :23:09.
Despite there -- despite a no clean sheet last night, there was delight, | :23:09. | :23:15.
after their first win of 2000 well. A dramatic finish indeed! | :23:15. | :23:18.
Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin has a near full-strength squad to choose | :23:18. | :23:21.
from ahead of Friday's crucial Heineken Cup tie against Leicester | :23:21. | :23:23.
at Ravenhill. Pedrie Wannenburg and Ian Humphreys are both carrying | :23:23. | :23:27.
injuries but have been named in the squad for the Pool 4 clash. | :23:27. | :23:30.
McLaughlin is now looking for his side to maintain the high standard | :23:30. | :23:38.
set by their convincing recent wins against Munster and Edinburgh. | :23:38. | :23:43.
I think that is what we have been trying to do. If you look at the | :23:43. | :23:46.
performance against Munster and the performance last week, it is | :23:46. | :23:50.
crucial that we are consistent. That we keep the same level of | :23:50. | :23:54.
performance up. We do have to tinker with things, make things | :23:54. | :24:01.
better, but when you need to be at your best, you have got if brokers. | :24:01. | :24:05.
We will have more build up to the game later on this week. | :24:05. | :24:07.
Londonderry's Olympic swimming hopeful Ryan Harrison has been | :24:08. | :24:10.
suspended from his US college team. The reason being given by the | :24:10. | :24:13.
University of Tennessee is a "violation of team policy". | :24:13. | :24:16.
Harrison, in the third year of a swimming scholarship in the States, | :24:16. | :24:19.
has issued a statement saying the suspension has nothing to do with | :24:19. | :24:23.
illegal substances. And Swim Ireland have said his hopes of | :24:23. | :24:32.
qualifying for the Olympics have not been affected. Less than 200 | :24:32. | :24:39.
days to go until the Olympics. And the torch will be coming soon. | :24:39. | :24:45.
I applied for tickets, I am one of the millions that did not get any. | :24:45. | :24:55.

I will moderate on the BBC! -- I The weather. | :24:57. | :25:03.
To remind you the average for this time of year is 6 or 7 and 12 is | :25:03. | :25:07.
more typical for the middle of April. We are expecting a fall in | :25:07. | :25:12.
the temperature for the end of the week but not tonight. There is rain | :25:12. | :25:18.
and drizzle, breaking out more widely tonight. It is fairly damp | :25:18. | :25:22.
for some time tonight. A lot of that peters out before the end of | :25:22. | :25:28.
the night but the cloud sticks. The temperatures will stay up so 7 or 8 | :25:28. | :25:34.
is the lowest, which is more of a daytime temperature. That mild | :25:34. | :25:38.
weather lingers until tomorrow and the cloud hangs around, too. It | :25:38. | :25:42.
will not be completely solid and there will be some breaks in the | :25:42. | :25:48.
cloud. So perhaps a flicker of sunshine. Like today, there will be | :25:48. | :25:53.
thicker patches of cloud, bringing showers, not amounting to much but | :25:53. | :26:02.
can be quite wet. For most places, more dry than wet weather. | :26:02. | :26:07.
Temperatures at around 10 or 11. The winds coming in from the South | :26:07. | :26:13.
West, making it mild, and the wind will not be strong. As we head into | :26:14. | :26:18.
tomorrow evening and night, there will be further rain and drizzle | :26:18. | :26:23.
and a more organised area of rain will head South. This area of rain | :26:23. | :26:26.
separates much cooler air which will be moving in from the North. | :26:26. | :26:30.
The winds become quite strong tomorrow night and on Thursday we | :26:30. | :26:35.
will still have some of that wet and windy weather. This is how the | :26:35. | :26:41.
temperatures are expected to pan out. We are sitting up at 11 at the | :26:41. | :26:45.
moment but it will dive between Thursday night and Friday morning. | :26:45. | :26:49.
It will be cooler and more seasonal for the rest of the week. So mild | :26:49. | :26:53.
initially on Thursday, but temperatures will fall during the | :26:53. | :26:58.
day to around seven and the wind will be from the North West. There | :26:58. | :27:04.
will be sunshine, but the clear sky is overnight may mean frost on | :27:04. | :27:09.
Friday. It stays cool, largely dry, but cloudy, too. | :27:09. | :27:13.
The weather is keeping us guessing all week. | :27:13. | :27:16.
First, hot, then, cold. Finally a reminder of the stories | :27:16. | :27:18.
making the headlines. A group of Catholic teenagers have | :27:18. | :27:21.
been speaking of their terror after being attacked by a loyalist gang | :27:21. | :27:27.
while working on a film set in the Village area of Belfast. | :27:27. | :27:30.
Sean Quinn insists he has never misled anyone, as a Belfast court | :27:30. | :27:40.
overturns his insolvency status. A murder trial has heard harrowing | :27:40. | :27:43.
evidence from colleagues of Constable Stephen Carroll who | :27:43. | :27:46.
attended the hoax call which lured him to his death. | :27:47. | :27:49.
And in the row over a referendum on Scottish independence, the | :27:49. | :27:52.
Westminster government has insisted that only it can decide on the date | :27:52. | :27:57.
for a vote. Our late summary is at 10:25pm. You | :27:58. | :28:01. |
