Good evening. This is BBC Newsline. The headlines this Monday evening: | :00:16. | :00:19.
A story of peace and friendship brings Northern Ireland triumph at | :00:19. | :00:24.
the Oscars in LA. Family and friends of the director Terry | :00:24. | :00:29.
George are toasting his success. I am live here in Killough where the | :00:29. | :00:37.
film was shot. So tonight: The leading hospital ward that shocked | :00:37. | :00:45.
a new grandmother. -- leading. could not understand. One of them | :00:45. | :00:50.
turned around and wondered where the water came from. A judge in a | :00:51. | :00:57.
murder trial is asked to throw out key prosecution evidence. | :00:57. | :01:02.
And a new disease has brought a deadly threat across Northern | :01:02. | :01:08.
Ireland. And Michael O'Neill on day one | :01:08. | :01:11.
proper as Northern Ireland football manager. | :01:11. | :01:14.
And I'll have the latest on the mild conditions and where it's most | :01:14. | :01:24.
:01:24. | :01:25. | ||
Northern Ireland is basking in Oscar glory with the success in Los | :01:25. | :01:28.
Angeles last night of a film made in County Down. The Belfast born | :01:28. | :01:31.
director Terry George made his short film The Shore around his | :01:31. | :01:34.
Coney Island cottage, with a cast of native actors like Ciaran Hinds, | :01:34. | :01:38.
Maggie Cronin and Conleth Hill. Chris Page joins us from a local | :01:38. | :01:48.
hostelry in Killough. There was a huge party last night | :01:48. | :01:53.
when D armload was opened. You might recognise this far if you | :01:53. | :01:57.
have seen the film. Terry George chose this as the main location for | :01:57. | :02:01.
the film because his family owned a cottage just down the road. The | :02:01. | :02:05.
film is about a man who lease during the Troubles and now is back | :02:05. | :02:15.
:02:15. | :02:16. | ||
to make peace with his past. -- who leaves during the Troubles. The | :02:17. | :02:21.
atmospheric tale of lost friendships has won the biggest | :02:21. | :02:29.
prize in the movie business. The Shore was not only shot here, its | :02:29. | :02:36.
director and most of its cast are from Northern Ireland. | :02:36. | :02:42.
And there were plenty more hugs for them last night. It might seem a | :02:42. | :02:46.
long way from County Down to downtown Los Angeles, but George | :02:46. | :02:52.
Clooney was not the only George on the red carpet. The director, Terry | :02:52. | :02:58.
George, from Belfast, carried off the award for Best Live Action | :02:58. | :03:06.
Short Film. In it was an amazing night. We made this short film a | :03:06. | :03:11.
couple of years ago based on peace and reconciliation and little did | :03:11. | :03:16.
we know we would be here tonight. His daughter, who is also the | :03:16. | :03:21.
producer of the bum, says all of the people in the credits should | :03:21. | :03:28.
take credit. -- producer of are the film. We have to think everyone | :03:28. | :03:32.
because we had the most incredible crew and cast and they really got | :03:32. | :03:38.
us here. One of those stars says the Oscar winners still feels so | :03:38. | :03:47.
real. -- so real. I am thrilled, absolutely delighted. I have not | :03:48. | :03:53.
come down at all. I am high on adrenalin at the moment. And the | :03:53. | :03:58.
woman who cast the actors says she is immensely proud. He make a film | :03:59. | :04:02.
and you are never really sure it will go. It has really resonated | :04:02. | :04:10.
with people and it has stripped our wildest dreams. There it is, | :04:10. | :04:18.
Belfast. You can see the old dockyards where they built the | :04:18. | :04:23.
Titanic. Those in front of and behind the camera are not the only | :04:23. | :04:29.
winners. The success of The Shore means that Northern Ireland has a | :04:29. | :04:32.
presence should case to film-makers and movie watchers all over the | :04:32. | :04:40.
world. -- priceless showcase. I am joined by some relatives of | :04:40. | :04:47.
Terry George. This is his brother. He told you the news himself. | :04:47. | :04:52.
I began to wane last night and I was heading off to sleep. The phone | :04:52. | :04:58.
rang and it was Terry and I could hear everyone in the background and | :04:58. | :05:02.
they had won. Why it did you think of your brother being the toast of | :05:02. | :05:11.
Hollywood? I am delighted for him and the whole family that brought | :05:11. | :05:17.
an Oscar back here. Happily we will see them seeing -- hopefully we | :05:17. | :05:25.
will see them soon. This was very much a family movie. Yes, it was. | :05:25. | :05:33.
Everyone in this pub had a role. My sister was the costume designer. | :05:33. | :05:41.
Both as our daughter has a work involved so it was a family fun and | :05:41. | :05:45.
a family affair. Whenever you heard about this idea, did you think it | :05:45. | :05:52.
would be a winner? When it is a film with Terry George, you know it | :05:52. | :05:57.
has an -- a pedigree. He is clearly a global name in cinema. Of course | :05:57. | :06:04.
we knew we were on to something good. He is also making another | :06:04. | :06:08.
film that is coming out later in the year which is about Northern | :06:08. | :06:14.
Ireland. Thank you all very much. This is not a real Oscar statue, | :06:14. | :06:18.
but the good news is that Terry George will be bringing his prize | :06:18. | :06:27.
back here very soon, I am sure. A woman whose granddaughter was | :06:27. | :06:30.
born while water leaked from a roof in the delivery suite, says | :06:30. | :06:32.
conditions at the Royal Jubilee Maternity are antiquated and not | :06:32. | :06:37.
fit for purpose. Janice Austin, who was her daughter's birthing partner, | :06:37. | :06:41.
told the BBC that she was shocked by what was unfolding in front of | :06:41. | :06:43.
her. While water was running down the walls, puddles were forming | :06:43. | :06:46.
next to where the incubator sat. Our Health Correspondent has the | :06:46. | :06:51.
story. As her daughter's birthing parte -- | :06:51. | :06:56.
partner, Janice was in the birthing suite when her grand opera was born. | :06:56. | :07:02.
He says it was a memorable, but for all of the wrong reasons. -- her | :07:02. | :07:08.
grandchild. One of the people in the realm asked where the water was | :07:08. | :07:14.
coming from. It was on the floor and coming out from the wall. | :07:14. | :07:22.
Another midwife seemed very upset about the working conditions. | :07:22. | :07:27.
is the delivery room where the child was born on 4th February. | :07:27. | :07:31.
Captured on mobile phone, at the pictures show water coming through | :07:31. | :07:38.
the roof down the wall. There is a rusty curtain hook on the wall and | :07:38. | :07:42.
you buy is an incubator where babies are checked. Nurses use | :07:42. | :07:46.
disposable bedsheets to mop up the puddles. Jess said the crisis was | :07:46. | :07:52.
never far from their minds. -- genet said the crisis was never far | :07:52. | :07:58.
from their minds. During the crisis in January, at | :07:58. | :08:02.
nurses told the BBC that the rift in the maternity unit was leaking. | :08:02. | :08:08.
This building also -- that the roof in the maternity unit was leaking. | :08:08. | :08:13.
The building also houses the neonatal unit. A patient sent an | :08:13. | :08:17.
email saying that a doctor was talking about a smell in her room, | :08:17. | :08:21.
and it was above a -- because of the leak. We were thinking this | :08:21. | :08:26.
could have been the cause of all of these we babies dying. It is | :08:26. | :08:32.
terrible. It's was very unpleasant for the Women and the day before | :08:32. | :08:42.
:08:42. | :08:44. | ||
step -- it was very unpleasant for the woman and the baby. We would be | :08:44. | :08:49.
wishing that it had not happened. We would like to and do it but it | :08:49. | :08:55.
is a building that needs ongoing maintenance. Under the we -- we met | :08:55. | :08:59.
a be a investigation, a regulatory body is investigating the neonatal | :08:59. | :09:04.
unit. The chairperson says that she had the inspection to go further. | :09:04. | :09:07.
The inspectors are need to go into maternity and make sure that they | :09:07. | :09:13.
are going to the clinical standard. I would call the inspectors to go | :09:13. | :09:19.
and have a look. Why maternity services are -- while at the | :09:19. | :09:25.
maternity services are set to go under change, until this building | :09:25. | :09:29.
is content -- completed in 2015, midwives and mothers will have to | :09:29. | :09:34.
put up at the present facilities, which are clearly not fit for | :09:34. | :09:39.
purpose. -- put up with. The judge in the trial of two men | :09:39. | :09:42.
accused of the murder of Constable Stephen Carroll in Craigavon three | :09:42. | :09:45.
years ago has been asked to throw out the evidence of a key | :09:45. | :09:48.
prosecution witness because it is ''unfair''. If he does, the defence | :09:48. | :09:54.
will argue that the trial be stopped due to a lack of evidence. | :09:55. | :10:01.
The legal argument focused on a man known only as we miss them. He took | :10:01. | :10:04.
to the stand anonymously and told the court that on the night of the | :10:04. | :10:14.
:10:14. | :10:16. | ||
murder he was out walking his dog. The defence once this evidence | :10:16. | :10:21.
thrown out on the grounds that it is unfair and they looked at 33 | :10:21. | :10:25.
separate concerns about it, including, they claim, that the | :10:25. | :10:29.
winners had lied about his eyesight problems and that he actually came | :10:29. | :10:37.
forward after a year from the murder and that he had changed his | :10:37. | :10:41.
story. But this win this is the key witness and they want his evidence | :10:41. | :10:50.
to stand. -- we guess. He said that he was walking his dog and he | :10:50. | :10:54.
recognised the man who was murdered and he even stopped to say hello. | :10:54. | :10:58.
The judge will make his decision about this tomorrow morning and it | :10:58. | :11:02.
is very important because if he decides to go out the evidence, the | :11:02. | :11:07.
defence team will move to have the trial aborted on grounds of a lack | :11:07. | :11:12.
of evidence. Both men accused of the murder denied any involvement | :11:12. | :11:18.
and I will have the latest on their trial tomorrow. | :11:18. | :11:23.
You're watching BBC Newsline, still to come on the programme: The virus | :11:23. | :11:28.
that has sheep farmers were read. And Rory McIlroy will have to wait | :11:28. | :11:38.
:11:38. | :11:40. | ||
a little bit longer to become world No. 1 in the golf rankings. | :11:40. | :11:44.
The First Minister Peter Robinson says there could be a role for a | :11:44. | :11:47.
new conflict transformation centre on the site of the former Maze jail | :11:47. | :11:49.
in providing a space for people to share stories about their | :11:49. | :11:52.
contrasting experiences during the troubles. The DUP leader was | :11:52. | :11:54.
speaking after discussing the past with the Secretary of State Owen | :11:54. | :11:56.
Paterson. Here's our political editor. | :11:56. | :12:00.
It is 40 years ago, but these families will never forget the day | :12:00. | :12:05.
they lost their loved ones in West Belfast. They came to the gates of | :12:05. | :12:12.
Stormont today to lobby for a meeting with the Prime Minister. | :12:12. | :12:17.
This woman had a relative who died in a hill of but -- bullets. What | :12:17. | :12:21.
would she think it those who were held responsible were granted an | :12:21. | :12:30.
amnesty? She was an innocent person and was murdered. I think MST is MK | :12:30. | :12:36.
in certain cases, but in our case, I believe we would get Prosecutions. | :12:36. | :12:44.
-- I believe Amnesty is OK. South Africa, if perpetrators have | :12:44. | :12:49.
admitted their crimes before at a reconciliation commission, they | :12:49. | :12:53.
have benefited from an amnesty. But that route has been rejected by | :12:53. | :12:57.
Unionists, he delivered a truth commission would be a one-sided | :12:57. | :13:05.
affair, but would put people in the dark. However a new conflict | :13:05. | :13:09.
resolution centre could provide an alternative. I am very clear that | :13:09. | :13:14.
there is a consensus and there should be a storytelling archive | :13:14. | :13:19.
and we have talked about that even at the new centre that we are | :13:19. | :13:26.
building at the Maze site. It is a place where people can tell their | :13:26. | :13:31.
stories whether it is the police or the army. It can be officers or at | :13:31. | :13:37.
victims. After today's tops, there was no sign of a consensus, but | :13:37. | :13:44.
there was a strong hint from the DUP that if the new site is built, | :13:44. | :13:49.
there will be a strong focus on people telling stories about their | :13:49. | :13:59.
:13:59. | :14:01. | ||
Insecurity barrier erected at an interface in north Belfast in the | :14:01. | :14:05.
1980s open today for the first time in a quarter of the century. The | :14:05. | :14:09.
barrier at the Newington Street limestone Road junction will open | :14:09. | :14:14.
each weekday from 7am to 4pm. The development signals improving | :14:14. | :14:19.
community relations in the area. Traffic passing through, this has | :14:19. | :14:24.
not happened here for more than a quarter of the century. Their | :14:24. | :14:28.
history of this area explains why. This was a notorious sectarian | :14:28. | :14:34.
flashpoint. Two communities housed side by side, but unable to live | :14:34. | :14:39.
together peacefully. Change has come in recent years. Nationalists | :14:39. | :14:43.
and loyalists working together to repair relations after years of | :14:43. | :14:52.
conflict. Back in the 1980s. This was a volatile interface. There | :14:52. | :15:02.
:15:02. | :15:03. | ||
were class bombs, paint bombs, petrol bombs, shootings. A bet to | :15:03. | :15:08.
community relations in recent years have helped. Changing geography has | :15:08. | :15:12.
helped to. Families have moved away. Others have stayed and in this old | :15:12. | :15:16.
factory look at -- overlooking the junction, new homes. The new | :15:16. | :15:20.
communities are living here and getting on better elsewhere. We are | :15:20. | :15:29.
in this process for four years. We have built relationships with Arab | :15:29. | :15:34.
counterparts and that is the progress we are seen today. At this | :15:34. | :15:38.
barrier, it will be opened for a week days for the next three months | :15:38. | :15:42.
on a trial basis and all security issues here still have not been | :15:42. | :15:46.
resolved. That is best illustrated by looking across the road at | :15:46. | :15:55.
security cameras still keeping an eye on these two communities. | :15:55. | :15:59.
Northern Ireland farmers have been alerted to a new disease that can | :15:59. | :16:02.
ravaged sheep flocks. Schmallenberg virus first appeared on the | :16:02. | :16:05.
Continent, but has now spread to farms in England. There is no known | :16:05. | :16:15.
:16:15. | :16:17. | ||
cure or vaccine. It is lambing time on farms across Northern Ireland | :16:17. | :16:20.
and shepherds like this man are busy watching over their flocks. | :16:20. | :16:25.
This spring, farms here facing the threat. It is called Smullen there | :16:25. | :16:30.
disease and it is a deadly new virus that can cost up to 20% of | :16:30. | :16:36.
lambs to die. Consequences could be absolutely devastating, not only | :16:36. | :16:41.
for the stock, but for farmers financial situation. The disease | :16:41. | :16:45.
isn't thought to pose any risk to humans, either to those working | :16:45. | :16:50.
with sheep or to consumers, but some cases have been recorded in | :16:50. | :16:54.
adult cattle and sheep. Newborn lambs are most vulnerable. The | :16:54. | :17:01.
virus attacks the nervous system and causes many stillbirths. Many | :17:01. | :17:08.
of the infected lambs will die at birth. Others will survive, albeit | :17:08. | :17:13.
with problems with disfigured front legs and their mouths as well. | :17:13. | :17:17.
Thankfully this little chap is as healthy as anything and he will | :17:17. | :17:22.
lead to grow into a big round. The disease is thought to be spread by | :17:22. | :17:29.
midges. The virus appeared in Germany last year. From an adult | :17:29. | :17:34.
cattle herd there, it spread to Belgium and the Netherlands. Then, | :17:34. | :17:37.
like Blue Tongue disease a few years ago, infected midges were | :17:37. | :17:41.
blown across the Channel. How far north and west the disease will | :17:42. | :17:47.
spread, no one knows. I want to call to anyone who is importing | :17:47. | :17:51.
animals to be mindful if they are in porting from any affected areas. | :17:51. | :17:55.
We call on them not to do that, until we understand the impact of | :17:55. | :18:02.
the disease. Hundreds of new cases are expected to emerge as sheep | :18:02. | :18:08.
flocks lamb down. There is increased surveillance and farmers | :18:08. | :18:12.
have been -- are being asked to be vigilant. | :18:12. | :18:15.
Rory McIlroy has nearly reached the summit of the world golf rankings, | :18:15. | :18:22.
but he will have to wait a bit longer. It was not all about the | :18:22. | :18:26.
Oscars last night, a 22-year-old from Holywood was creating his own | :18:26. | :18:30.
drama. Rory McIlroy had us on the edge of our seats, but he fell just | :18:30. | :18:34.
short in his bid to win a world of golf title and reach number one in | :18:34. | :18:38.
the World Rankings. He lost the final of the WGC World Matchplay | :18:38. | :18:41.
Championship in Arizona. But he remains confident he will be right | :18:41. | :18:48.
at the top very soon. To become world No. 1, Rory McIlroy had to | :18:48. | :18:55.
win two matches on the final day. He came from behind to beat Lee | :18:55. | :19:01.
Westwood in a hotly-contested duel and the desert. For me it was like | :19:01. | :19:07.
my final in a way. I really wanted... I wanted it all week and | :19:07. | :19:15.
that is what I got myself up for. Maybe, it took a bit out of me. | :19:16. | :19:19.
Rory McIlroy with the bragging rights over his former stablemate, | :19:19. | :19:23.
but after winning that hard-fought semi-final, he ran out of steam. He | :19:23. | :19:30.
found it hard to replicate the same form in the final against but | :19:30. | :19:36.
American and Hunter me hand. A have two events coming up and I want to | :19:36. | :19:41.
keep putting good results on the board, trying get a few wins and if | :19:41. | :19:48.
I can do that, ultimately getting to the top of the World Rankings is | :19:48. | :19:51.
hopefully inevitable if I keep playing the golf the way I am at | :19:51. | :19:58.
the minute. Shops like this should see hen there are very soon it. He | :19:58. | :20:01.
will be number one if he wins in Florida this week. | :20:01. | :20:04.
Michael O'Neill took charge of his first Northern Ireland training | :20:04. | :20:07.
session today. There were only two late withdrawals from the Scot, | :20:07. | :20:11.
Craig Cathcart and Warren Feeney are missing through injury. | :20:11. | :20:14.
Northern Ireland face Norway in a friendly on Wednesday at Windsor | :20:14. | :20:21.
Park. As the Michael O'Neill era begins, the last 24 hours have been | :20:21. | :20:24.
an opportunity for the new manager and his players to get to know | :20:24. | :20:31.
which other. Obviously I spoke to the lads and on an individual basis | :20:31. | :20:34.
as well. New lads have come into the squad and some have been out of | :20:34. | :20:38.
the squad for a period of time, so it is important they have time | :20:38. | :20:43.
together. They are ready now to work this morning. After a | :20:43. | :20:47.
disappointing end to the last qualifying campaign, a new manager | :20:47. | :20:53.
also represents a fresh start for the players. He has fresh ideas and | :20:53. | :20:58.
he is probably new school, rather than an old school manager. The | :20:58. | :21:02.
coaching staff as well seem really positive, so first impressions have | :21:02. | :21:05.
been really good and we are trying to taking as much as we can and | :21:06. | :21:10.
take it on to the field. Northern Ireland have won just once in the | :21:10. | :21:13.
last 12 months and it is Michael O'Neill's job to make sure that | :21:13. | :21:20.
record improves in 2012. James McLean looks set to make his | :21:20. | :21:23.
Republic of Ireland debut against the Czech Republic on Wednesday. | :21:23. | :21:26.
The former Derry City star previously played for Northern | :21:26. | :21:30.
Ireland, but opted to switch to Giovanni Trapattoni's side. He | :21:30. | :21:34.
earned his collar after stand-up performances for his new club | :21:34. | :21:38.
Sunderland the seed -- this season. There are just eight games to go in | :21:38. | :21:41.
the race to become Irish League football champions. Linfield are | :21:41. | :21:44.
closing in on yet another Carling Premiership title after a weekend | :21:44. | :21:48.
win against Cliftonville. Darryl Fordyce scored twice in the 3-1 | :21:48. | :21:53.
victory at Solitude. Peter Thomson was also on target as a Linfield | :21:53. | :21:57.
move seven points clear of their nearest rivals. Best game of the | :21:57. | :22:00.
day was at the Oval were Richard Gibson thought he had given | :22:00. | :22:04.
Glentoran at 3-2 victory over Coleraine, but the visitors secured | :22:04. | :22:10.
a late drop thanks to this goal from David Scullion. Goal of the | :22:11. | :22:16.
day was at Seaview. David Cushley helped Lisburn Distillery to a 2-2 | :22:16. | :22:21.
draw with Crusaders. Dungannon took a direct route to a much-needed 2-0 | :22:21. | :22:26.
win over second-placed Portadown. Seven -- Stefan Lavery but the | :22:26. | :22:29.
clinching goal. Ireland will fly to France in a | :22:29. | :22:32.
much better frame of mind than they did for the postponed again in | :22:32. | :22:38.
powers two weeks ago. Saturday's 42-10 win over Italy has | :22:38. | :22:41.
reinvigorated the team's Six Nations campaign. Five tries were | :22:41. | :22:51.
scored with one in particular prompting a special celebration. | :22:51. | :22:55.
Long before he took up rugby, Tom caught once came close to | :22:55. | :22:58.
representing Australia at the Olympics as a shot putter. It is | :22:58. | :23:02.
his ability to rumble with the oval ball, rather than a metal one, | :23:02. | :23:06.
which has seen him make inroads with Ulster and Ireland in recent | :23:06. | :23:11.
years. This is his first international try afters 26 caps, | :23:11. | :23:19.
hence jubilation. I had to condense the emotion into one celebration. | :23:19. | :23:22.
For all the recent disruptions and disappointments, there was enough | :23:22. | :23:26.
encouragement against Italy to suggest Ireland may have the legs | :23:26. | :23:33.
to cause another team in look a few problems. There are completely | :23:33. | :23:38.
different matter. Wales presented one type of challenge and back in | :23:38. | :23:43.
powers, we will make sure we're undefeated again. The one key hope | :23:43. | :23:51.
this time round is that it is just the French who feel any chill. | :23:51. | :23:54.
Ulster retain Gaelic football's into provincial tier with a three | :23:54. | :23:59.
to 11 to 1-15 win over Munster in County Armagh in front of a crowd | :23:59. | :24:04.
of 2,600 people. New me the's late goal gave Ulster victory. Falling | :24:04. | :24:08.
attendances in recent years of threat and the competition's | :24:08. | :24:11.
survival. Players and management have expressed a desire for it to | :24:11. | :24:15.
continue, the mood music from Croke Park yesterday was less convincing. | :24:15. | :24:19.
We have tried to take this game away international army have tried | :24:19. | :24:23.
to play at home. It has not been successful in getting our patrons | :24:23. | :24:26.
to come to our games. If they do not come, there isn't much value in | :24:26. | :24:30.
putting it on. A World Superbike Championship | :24:30. | :24:34.
underway in Australia yesterday with mixed fortunes for Eugene | :24:34. | :24:37.
Laverty and Jonathan Ray. Laverty did not finish raise one in 10 a | :24:37. | :24:42.
fit in the second race. But Jonny Rea fared better. After finishing | :24:42. | :24:46.
7th place in race one and full of Ireland, he has them on course for | :24:46. | :24:50.
a podium finish in race two, but dropped to fourth in the final | :24:50. | :24:52.
straight when overtaken by Englishman Tom Sykes. The next | :24:52. | :24:57.
round is in Imola in five weeks' time. | :24:57. | :25:01.
Then ride one of the MSA British Rally Championship, Desi Henry and | :25:01. | :25:06.
Niall Burns bought the Citroen Marholm in second place overall. | :25:06. | :25:11.
A Belfast Giants had a big weekend, following up an 8-0 win over Hull | :25:11. | :25:16.
macro on Saturday with a 5-0 win over Coventry Blaze last night. | :25:16. | :25:19.
With Sheffield Steelers losing one of the two weekend games, the Janos | :25:19. | :25:29.

Kalmar are now homing in on a first league title in six years. A lot of | :25:29. | :25:39.
:25:39. | :25:40. | ||
The emphasis is still on mild weather. A mild start to the week | :25:40. | :25:44.
and a few places hitting the 12 degrees mark. A good five degrees | :25:44. | :25:49.
above the seasonal average. We have not seen that much sun sign, not | :25:49. | :25:55.
much sunshine after the rain this morning. There is plenty more of | :25:55. | :25:57.
that persistent shroud of cloud heading our way. It will remain | :25:57. | :26:01.
over cast throughout this evening, still some patches of drizzle here | :26:01. | :26:04.
and there, not amounting to a great deal and there gusting breeze that | :26:05. | :26:08.
is affecting parts of the North Coast today will continue through | :26:08. | :26:12.
the night. Staying cloudy through the night, further patches of | :26:12. | :26:15.
drizzle particularly in the west, the cloud will tend to lower at it | :26:15. | :26:19.
and that will bring misty and damp conditions over hilly areas. There | :26:19. | :26:23.
will be quite a few spots, particularly towards the east and | :26:23. | :26:28.
South East that will stay dry and for almost it will be a mild night. | :26:28. | :26:31.
Temperatures no lower than ten degrees. As we head into tomorrow, | :26:31. | :26:36.
it could be even milder than today, still a lot of cloud in the skies, | :26:36. | :26:40.
so expect a misty and murky start in the morning. The odd spot of | :26:40. | :26:46.
drizzle, which might affect visibility in some areas. Hopefully | :26:47. | :26:50.
we will start to see that cloud lifting of the hills and there is a | :26:50. | :26:54.
better chance that we may get the odd brighter glens, even a glimpse | :26:54. | :27:04.
:27:04. | :27:07. | ||
of the blue sky in one or two spots tomorrow. Temperatures could be | :27:07. | :27:13.
around 13 or 14 degrees. Inland, more cloud than sunshine, and even | :27:13. | :27:18.
here we should hit 12 degrees again. It is very much a similar story | :27:18. | :27:22.
into tomorrow night, a lot of cloud and patches of dampness. Slightly | :27:22. | :27:25.
cooler air, so temperatures will drop back into single figures | :27:25. | :27:32.
tomorrow night, seven or eight degrees. No frost problems. | :27:32. | :27:36.
Wednesday will have a similar story, the best of any brightness in the | :27:36. | :27:40.
east and it is still mild. That mild weather will hold for the rest | :27:40. | :27:45.
of the week, but the increasing risk of rain is there. | :27:45. | :27:51.
A reminder of our headlines. A tale of peace and friendship brought | :27:51. | :27:56.
Northern Ireland success at the Oscar ceremonies in Los Angeles. | :27:56. | :27:59.
At Belfast Health Trust has apologised for a leaking roof that | :27:59. | :28:03. |
