Per Good evening. This is BBC Newsline with Donna Traynor and | :00:22. | :00:27.
Noel Thompson.. A pilot has a lucky escape as this aircraft crashes in | :00:27. | :00:35.
a field in County Down. Amanda eyes at his home. | :00:35. | :00:39.
A big drop in the number of older people getting meals-on-wheels. We | :00:39. | :00:44.

It could be about icy in places tonight. | :01:07. | :01:11.
First do that lucky escape for the pilot of a light aircraft in County | :01:11. | :01:17.
Down. The man's plane came down and Kilkeel in Co Down. The pilot was | :01:17. | :01:25.
taken to hospital and is said to be in a stable condition. | :01:25. | :01:35.

Good evening. It and 50-year-old pilot tried to land behind. | :01:35. | :01:39.
Unfortunately he miss the landing strip and landed on a building site | :01:39. | :01:44.
at the end of it. One man who sought a happening was Conor Cole | :01:44. | :01:49.
and he is with me now. Tell me what you stop? I was at the foot of a | :01:49. | :01:54.
club and I looked up and sold their aeroplane coming down. I saw a | :01:54. | :02:00.
waving about there. All I could hear next was a bang. I looked and | :02:00. | :02:06.
I walk down to see what I could do. Then this man tried to get across. | :02:06. | :02:10.
He could not get across from the Rev R. If the weather had an | :02:10. | :02:15.
atrocious at this point? howling wind and rain. It was | :02:15. | :02:24.
lashing down. The accident investigation unit told us that | :02:24. | :02:31.
they were aware of the ascendant. They are going to pursue a bit with | :02:31. | :02:36.
a pilot who is in a comfortable position. A stable position in | :02:36. | :02:41.
hospital. -- the incident. A pensioner has died in a house | :02:41. | :02:46.
fire in County Antrim. It happened at his home between Ballymoney and | :02:46. | :02:50.
Dervock. Forensic teams would continue to | :02:50. | :02:58.
look through the charred remains at the house late this afternoon. The | :02:58. | :03:02.
emergency services were called to these two semi-detached houses at | :03:02. | :03:06.
around 8 o'clock last night. It is believed the fire started in this | :03:06. | :03:15.
one where a man and his -- in his 60s lived alone. He died in the | :03:15. | :03:20.
blaze but their neighbours were able to alert the man next door. | :03:20. | :03:26.
heard this battering on the window. Next door is on fire. The room was | :03:26. | :03:35.
full of smoke. We tried to fight our way into next door. The flames | :03:35. | :03:40.
pulled us back. They is all that is left of his bedroom. The fire | :03:40. | :03:44.
ripped through the ceiling from next door and has destroyed where | :03:44. | :03:48.
he would have slept. This is all that is left of the wall as you | :03:48. | :03:52.
come up the stairs and the smell of smoke is still second the air. He | :03:52. | :03:58.
has had a very lucky escape. With a heat the kitchen window smashed. | :03:58. | :04:08.
:04:08. | :04:09. | ||
With a wind last night, it was engulfed in flames. I think the | :04:09. | :04:18.
poor man had passed away before that anyway. It was just silence. | :04:18. | :04:25.
Because of the fire is still not known. -- because. | :04:25. | :04:29.
The number of elderly and vulnerable people having a meal | :04:29. | :04:33.
delivered to their home has dropped dramatically. In one health trust, | :04:33. | :04:38.
the figure has fallen by 76%. Stormont's Health Committee says it | :04:38. | :04:42.
wants to know why fewer people are using the service. Is it their | :04:42. | :04:46.
rising cost, on attaining of the roles that entitle people to meals- | :04:46. | :04:50.
on-wheels? For some people, the meals-on- | :04:50. | :04:55.
wheels service provided by the five health trusts is the only | :04:55. | :04:59.
nutritional lifeline they have. But despite an ageing population, it | :04:59. | :05:05.
has emerged that fewer people are now receiving a lifeline. In 2007, | :05:05. | :05:10.
almost 7,000 men and women receive meals. That figure has now fallen | :05:10. | :05:16.
by around 36% to just over 4,000. Part of the reason could be cost. | :05:16. | :05:20.
In these stringent times, all of the health trusts must save money. | :05:20. | :05:24.
Some are prepared to save more money than others by not | :05:24. | :05:28.
subsidising their meals quite as much. Each health trust has been | :05:28. | :05:32.
told by the Department of Health it must charge of high 50p per meal. | :05:32. | :05:38.
But it has emerged that that cost varies from one area to another. -- | :05:38. | :05:48.
:05:48. | :06:05. | ||
The criteria used by each of the trust to determine who is eligible | :06:05. | :06:09.
for the service differs. While in Belfast there has been a small | :06:09. | :06:13.
increase, in the southern trust figures have dramatically fallen by | :06:13. | :06:23.
:06:23. | :06:24. | ||
around 77%. It is not acceptable. Someone | :06:24. | :06:29.
saying in their Northern Trust is entitled to the same as someone | :06:29. | :06:35.
staying in the Southern Trust. My concern is that the Department has | :06:35. | :06:38.
sent out a circular telling the trusts that they should only charge | :06:38. | :06:42.
a certain amount of money and three of that the five trusts have | :06:42. | :06:49.
ignored that. Healthcare is under a review. | :06:49. | :06:53.
According to the recently published review in the future, there will be | :06:53. | :06:57.
few if any residential homes for the elderly. Some people believe | :06:57. | :07:02.
that will place even greater demand on the meals-on-wheels service. | :07:02. | :07:06.
have to be assessing people on the basis of need not the ability to | :07:06. | :07:11.
pay or the criteria being tightened and tighten so less people | :07:11. | :07:15.
accessing this service. And I think that is the worrying trend with | :07:15. | :07:19.
this, we are squeezing the resources that we do have much too | :07:19. | :07:23.
tightly. According to some of the health trusts to appear before the | :07:24. | :07:27.
committee, fewer people may be a villain of the server does duty | :07:27. | :07:31.
alternatives such as ready meals or an increase in the number of older | :07:31. | :07:35.
people being supported by their families. | :07:35. | :07:38.
A man from Newtonabbey who stabbed his estranged wife to death has | :07:38. | :07:46.
been jailed for life. Gerard O'Kane admitted to murdering Anne O'Kane | :07:46. | :07:54.
in May. Gardai and County Kildare are | :07:54. | :07:57.
investigating the murder of two men by gunman who forced their way into | :07:58. | :08:03.
a house. One of them was in his late teens and a foreign national, | :08:03. | :08:10.
the other was Irish and in his thirties. | :08:10. | :08:14.

dead and six others wounded when the Real IRA attacked Ms Barrett's. | :08:51. | :08:56.
As the lone piper played, Rhesus were laid. And then a new memorial | :08:56. | :09:05.
stone was unveiled. As relatives of the two murdered soldiers looked on. | :09:05. | :09:10.
It is supposed to get easier every year but it does not. But seeing | :09:10. | :09:18.
how many people have come out and have come to support us, it has | :09:18. | :09:22.
given me a lot. I cannot say how thankful we are. While the families | :09:22. | :09:28.
of the six soldiers killed in Afghanistan tonight come to grips | :09:28. | :09:38.
with their loss. You are watching BBC Newsline. | :09:38. | :09:48.

Still to come: I am in Dublin when it Ireland take on Scotland. | :09:50. | :09:55.
For a manner is big enough, so why did it steal a bit of Tyrone? -- | :09:55. | :10:00.
for a man. The finance Ministers Samuelson | :10:00. | :10:05.
says the UK Treasury should not allow its concerns over Scottish | :10:05. | :10:09.
independence to influence his decision on allowing Stormont is | :10:09. | :10:16.
set a minimum of corporation tax. Mr Wilson said Northern Ireland had | :10:16. | :10:19.
urgent priorities of its own with regard to attracting inward | :10:19. | :10:25.
investment. We cannot wait for a decision on | :10:25. | :10:31.
what happens in Scotland. This must be regarded as if the Government is | :10:31. | :10:35.
serious about helping us re-balance the economy in Northern Ireland, | :10:35. | :10:41.
this has to be regarded as an issue of great importance. There | :10:41. | :10:44.
Nationalists and Scotland are no political issue. This working group | :10:44. | :10:48.
has been set up independently and following on from the successful | :10:48. | :10:53.
consultation in which we Gozzer to 5% of the 700 responses massively | :10:53. | :10:58.
in favour. We have gotten a grip of all the main organisations onside. | :10:58. | :11:05.
We have all five political parties on side. You have not got that one | :11:05. | :11:11.
part -- on it in Scotland. There are concerns about attracting | :11:11. | :11:18.
so business from outside Ireland. Agricultural is staging a bit of a | :11:18. | :11:24.
recovery with buoyant cattle prices and rising income. Martin Cassidy | :11:24. | :11:31.
has been to this week's National Beef Association event in Dungannon. | :11:31. | :11:36.
They may not be making too much noise about it, but farmers are | :11:36. | :11:40.
witnessing any economic recovery and a booming demand for cattle. | :11:40. | :11:45.
There is generally a world shortage of food. There are ambassadors from | :11:45. | :11:52.
each country. We need to supply and we continue to increase the level | :11:52. | :11:58.
of supply. We will not need all those targets. They is a long time | :11:58. | :12:08.
:12:08. | :12:09. | ||
since farmers felt as good as this. Now a last they are back. We have | :12:09. | :12:17.
just had a show in Oban. We did tremendous trade. A third of the | :12:17. | :12:22.
animals went abroad. Including Switzerland, Italy, Estonia, | :12:22. | :12:27.
Germany, Fin land. There is more contact with Europe if so we are | :12:27. | :12:33.
buoyant. It is like the beef trade. Comparing for a -- competing for a | :12:33. | :12:39.
share in the beef market a whole variety of breeds. Some suited to | :12:39. | :12:43.
upland pastures, others with a solid reputation for again and she | :12:43. | :12:49.
a solid mateyness. The income in all shapes and sizes. None bigger | :12:50. | :12:55.
than this bill that it weighs in at over a ton. Amazing when you think | :12:55. | :12:59.
he is less than three years old. have money in their pockets, | :12:59. | :13:03.
farmers can be persuaded to spend. And that will help spread the | :13:03. | :13:07.
recovery through the wider economy. The weather may still be called, | :13:07. | :13:14.
but the green shoots of recovery are clear to see the spring. | :13:14. | :13:22.
Puts me in that mood for a big stake there. | :13:22. | :13:26.
A programme to help young people in a disadvantaged area of Newtonabbey | :13:26. | :13:31.
has had a major cash injection. Monk in turn has a higher rate of | :13:31. | :13:34.
unemployment and many young people drop out of school without | :13:34. | :13:39.
qualifications. But a boxing club is helping that with a big brand | :13:39. | :13:48.
These young men are determined to make a better life for themselves. | :13:48. | :13:51.
Monkstown has a high level of disadvantage where educational | :13:51. | :13:56.
attainment is low and many young people drop out of school without | :13:56. | :13:59.
any qualifications. Here at the local boxing club, a scheme aimed | :13:59. | :14:04.
at taking them off the streets and giving them opportunities is | :14:04. | :14:09.
helping. The boxing end of it, teaches them self-esteem, | :14:09. | :14:13.
discipline. It teaches them to become aware, you know, of | :14:13. | :14:17.
themselves, and what they are capable of doing. And this makes a | :14:17. | :14:23.
big difference. These teenagers train four to five times a week, | :14:23. | :14:28.
they box, train in sport and get life learning skills. They say it | :14:29. | :14:34.
has given them the confidence to aim high. Well I like it, it keeps | :14:34. | :14:38.
you off the street. I learn respect and discipline. I like it because | :14:38. | :14:45.
it gets you out of the house. plan to win a gold medal. I just | :14:45. | :14:50.
hope to be in the professional boxing some time. Up until now, | :14:50. | :14:54.
Monkstown boxing club has been running vul -- voluntarily but | :14:54. | :15:00.
today's announcement this club will get almost 378,000 from the big | :15:00. | :15:06.
Lottery Fund means other local youngsters will benefit. Hopefully | :15:06. | :15:09.
champions of the future. The Princess Royal has been in Northern | :15:09. | :15:14.
Ireland for a series of engagements today. Her visit started at the | :15:14. | :15:20.
Pony Club national conference in Belfast. She met pupils from | :15:20. | :15:24.
Sullivan Upper and another school at Hollywood library. There she | :15:24. | :15:29.
witnessed a special science demonstration. She asked if we did | :15:29. | :15:35.
the project and we said who helped us. Really nice. Scary a bit. | :15:35. | :15:41.
Pretty neat. When she talked to us, it was easier to talk to her. | :15:41. | :15:46.
Amazing, but, really nervous as well. The reaction has been | :15:46. | :15:50.
positive. They are very excited as you can see and they have enjoyed | :15:50. | :15:55.
having her look at all the things and experiments they have been | :15:55. | :15:59.
doing. The Belfast Giants are chasing silverware at the odyssey | :15:59. | :16:05.
tonight. Steven Watson is there for us. Good evening Steven. Yes, good | :16:05. | :16:08.
evening. The Belfast Giants are having a fantastic season, they are | :16:08. | :16:11.
still in the hunt for three trophy, including tonight, they will be on | :16:11. | :16:16.
Challenge Cup final and we will look ahead to the big game in a | :16:16. | :16:21.
moment. But first tonight, we hear from to giants of Irish rugby, | :16:21. | :16:24.
Tommy Bowe who last night confirmed that he will be coming back to play | :16:24. | :16:29.
rugby in Ulster at the end of this season, and Ulster's Rory Best who | :16:29. | :16:33.
will Captain Ireland against Scotland, in the Six Nations | :16:33. | :16:37.
championship in the absence of the injured skipper Paul O'Connell. | :16:37. | :16:42.
Niall Foster is with the squad in Dublin. This morning Rory Best | :16:42. | :16:46.
trained alongside his team-mates in preparation for Saturday's clash | :16:46. | :16:49.
against Scotland. But this afternoon, all the attention was on | :16:49. | :16:54.
the Ulster man, as he was announced as Ireland captain. I think there | :16:54. | :16:58.
is no doubt that any time you get to captain your country, like I say | :16:58. | :17:02.
you must be doing something right. There is a lot of hard work goes | :17:02. | :17:08.
into every one of our squads but the higher up you go the more the | :17:08. | :17:12.
margin for error is reduced. You have to put in the hard work, and | :17:12. | :17:17.
you know and hope it pays off on the day. I feel honoured to be | :17:17. | :17:23.
sitting at captain as the Irish team. Not only will he lead Ireland | :17:23. | :17:27.
out on Saturday he will equal the record of 58 caps for a Irish | :17:27. | :17:31.
hooker. He would be a shoe in to do it and provided he was fit, there | :17:31. | :17:35.
is no better man, his performance of the last 12 months haz has been | :17:35. | :17:39.
phenomenal. He has been a fantastic servant for Ireland so far. | :17:39. | :17:44.
Especially the last 12 months he seems to be getting better. That | :17:44. | :17:48.
applies to the latest recruit who today couldn't hide his le light | :17:48. | :17:54.
about playing again for next season. It is my home club, I have enjoyed | :17:54. | :17:58.
my almost four years over in Wales with the ospreys, but you know, | :17:58. | :18:02.
Ulster are the team I grew up wanted to -- wanting to play. Came | :18:02. | :18:06.
through the academy, I am excited getting back there, I think that | :18:06. | :18:11.
are going places, and it is an exciting couple of years ahead. | :18:11. | :18:15.
meantime Tom India Rory will be answering Ireland's call here at | :18:15. | :18:25.
the stadium on Saturday. There was a big game at Ravenhill this | :18:25. | :18:27.
afternoon, Methodist College Belfast booked their place in the | :18:27. | :18:31.
schools Cup Final. They beat Campbell College by 18 points to | :18:32. | :18:35.
eight in the semifinal. It was close until half-time but Med | :18:36. | :18:42.
didominated the second half and ran in three tries. The first by Elliot | :18:42. | :18:50.
Mooney. Rudolph ber naid and Chris grey si booked two more. This year | :18:50. | :18:57.
the final is on Monday 19th March. Now to the big night here in the | :18:57. | :19:00.
Odyssey reenna. The Belfast Giants take on the Nottingham Panthers in | :19:00. | :19:04.
the first leg of the Challenge Cup final. The giants are having a year | :19:04. | :19:09.
to remember. Some down to a star player with famous sporting name. | :19:09. | :19:13.
At this point you might very well be asking yourself, what this has | :19:13. | :19:19.
to do with ice hockey. Well, Brazil had the one and only Pele, Belfast | :19:19. | :19:25.
is now claiming its only. E with 2 is goals in 41 game, New Yorker | :19:25. | :19:29.
John Pele is one of the stars of the Elite League. I have had ups | :19:29. | :19:35.
and down, I have had my slumps, I am starting to find my game here. | :19:35. | :19:41.
Scoring a lot of goals. If I can contribute to some wins I will be | :19:41. | :19:47.
happy. Pele's enthusiasm has brought attention o the Belfasts in | :19:47. | :19:50.
a record breaking campaign. loves the game and loves being | :19:50. | :19:54.
round his team-mates. He enjoys playing hockey. When you that and | :19:54. | :19:59.
you have a fun loving smile on your face when you come on the ring | :19:59. | :20:08.
attitude, it is infectious. We have a deep team. We don't have too many | :20:08. | :20:13.
weakness, I am one of the pieces of the puzzles. We haven't won | :20:13. | :20:17.
anything yet. That is the reason I came was to win championships. And | :20:17. | :20:25.
with three trophies up for grabs it is no wonder the coach is smiling. | :20:25. | :20:29.
Joining me live here is the Belfast Giants general manager. Could this | :20:29. | :20:34.
be the best season ever for the Belfast Giants? It could be, if we | :20:34. | :20:37.
can win the trophies we are still in line for, we have the Challenge | :20:37. | :20:41.
Cup first leg tonight. We are still in the hunt for the league, and I | :20:41. | :20:45.
mean, that will be decided on the 16th 17th March and the play-offs | :20:45. | :20:48.
after that. There is a lot of potential this year. Eight points | :20:48. | :20:53.
clear at the top of the Elite League with five games to go. Is | :20:53. | :20:57.
that the main focus, the big one? The league is the big one, you have | :20:57. | :21:01.
to switch focus to the Challenge Cup tonight. It is one of those | :21:01. | :21:05.
things a lot of teams wish they were in the same position as us. | :21:05. | :21:11.
Tonight we have to concentrate on the cup. The first game they played | :21:11. | :21:15.
was way back in the year 2000. 12 seasons on, you in better health | :21:15. | :21:20.
than ever on and off the ice? Absolutely. Without getting into it, | :21:20. | :21:23.
we are healthier off the ice and things are going really we it has | :21:23. | :21:27.
gone from strength to strength. We have had great crowds, we have had | :21:27. | :21:32.
just over 5,000 last three or four week, so it is, the crowds seem to | :21:32. | :21:36.
pick up at the end of the season. We hope to pack them in. The crowds | :21:36. | :21:41.
would love to see some trophies. No pressure! We are in this position | :21:41. | :21:44.
last year. The team this year are hungryier and that is all they are | :21:44. | :21:48.
talking about. All they have been talking about for weeks is the | :21:48. | :21:52.
league and let's win championships. We usually don't have that much | :21:52. | :21:55.
positive focus on what we are trying to do here. You have a | :21:55. | :21:58.
player called pel lai, it won't be a problem! We will have highlights | :21:58. | :22:02.
from the game on tomorrow night's programme and you can listen to | :22:02. | :22:08.
live commentary on the BBC sports website. Healthier off the ice rink. | :22:08. | :22:15.
I wonder what they are up to there! There are many reasons why people | :22:16. | :22:20.
visit County Fermanagh. The Clogher Valley Show isn't necessarily one | :22:20. | :22:23.
of them although according to a leaflet the event is the only one | :22:23. | :22:30.
in the County. Hold on, the show is in Augher and that is in Tyrone. | :22:30. | :22:36.
Our journalist reports this mistake has led to accusations the County | :22:36. | :22:41.
is being ignored when it comes to promotion. The lakeland County. | :22:42. | :22:47.
Thousands come here, attracted by the sailing, fishing, or the | :22:47. | :22:50.
subterranean splendour of the Marble Arch Kayes. Burr the next | :22:50. | :22:54.
time tourist chiefs head down the motorway from Belfast, they may | :22:54. | :22:59.
want to bring a map with them. As Fermanagh is a bit further than | :22:59. | :23:04.
they think. The mistake on the leaflet produced by the Northern | :23:04. | :23:07.
Ireland Tourist Board has reinforced a few held by some that | :23:07. | :23:14.
not enough is done to promote the County. The highlight this year is | :23:14. | :23:19.
Titanic, and the causeway and the gulf, you hear very little else, | :23:19. | :23:25.
but we keep pushing it, that they will remember that the lake lands | :23:25. | :23:31.
are part of Northern Ireland, and need to be promoted. And there is | :23:31. | :23:34.
plenty happening in Fermanagh which could have been included on the | :23:34. | :23:40.
events list. Such as the first international festival celebrating | :23:40. | :23:45.
the author Samuel Beckett. He went to school here, so a lot of the | :23:45. | :23:50.
venues used for the festival will be in and round Enniskillen. It | :23:50. | :23:54.
will celebrate the work of Beckett through drama, comedy music and | :23:55. | :23:59.
also sport, so we are looking forward to that, and hopefully it | :24:00. | :24:05.
will attract a good local audience as well as an international visitor | :24:05. | :24:09.
too. As the Clogher Valley Show caravan park there is agreement | :24:09. | :24:15.
that more needs to be done to promote the area. It is hard enough | :24:15. | :24:19.
to keep the County Tyrone name up and running. We have the largest | :24:19. | :24:22.
one day show coming up which has been here for a number of years. It | :24:22. | :24:28.
is disappointing for the local people to see it has been called | :24:28. | :24:31.
County Fermanagh. It is County Tyrone, that is where it will stay. | :24:31. | :24:36.
The Tourist Board have said that further planned leaflets for this | :24:36. | :24:42.
weekend will contain an event for Fermanagh, the Beckett festival and | :24:42. | :24:47.
will list the correct location of the Clogher Valley Show. They | :24:47. | :24:51.
apologise and assure the organisers is aware the Tourist Board is aware | :24:51. | :24:55.
of the location of the vent. The Clogher Valley Show is billed as | :24:55. | :24:59.
the largest one day a churl show in Ireland. It will be held here on | :24:59. | :25:02.
the last Wednesday in July, but if you end up in Fermanagh, you have | :25:03. | :25:12.
:25:13. | :25:15. | ||
probably missed it. -- agricultural P I guess whole idea is you bring | :25:15. | :25:25.
:25:25. | :25:28. | ||
people and then they go to Tyrone. Any way, weatherwise, cold one day, | :25:28. | :25:31.
at least we had more sunshine than yesterday, but that was really the | :25:31. | :25:36.
end of the good new, because as promised, we had that cold gusty | :25:36. | :25:40.
wind, and that wind did bring pretty interesting shower clouds, | :25:40. | :25:45.
this rather ominous looking feature was paragraphed over the mountains | :25:45. | :25:50.
near Ballycastle. We had another one many looking wintry and | :25:50. | :25:57.
thundery. The extent of the showers extend across Ireland up into the | :25:57. | :26:00.
west of Scotland. They were more frequent in the north and west but | :26:00. | :26:05.
the strength of the wind means a few get across to the east. A few | :26:05. | :26:12.
of them were reporting hail, sleet and above two to three hundred | :26:12. | :26:17.
metres there will have been some snow. There still will be a few | :26:17. | :26:20.
showers of hail and hill snow for a time, so there could be a dusting | :26:20. | :26:24.
of over the hills. Eventually through the night they will tend to | :26:24. | :26:29.
ease off, or at least turn back to rain. Clear spells start to develop | :26:29. | :26:32.
inland, so the temperatures are dropping close to freezing, and | :26:33. | :26:38.
given that some of the surfaces could be damp and we have one or | :26:38. | :26:41.
two showers, that could give icy patches but hopefully that isn't | :26:41. | :26:44.
going to be a widespread problem. Either way it's a chilly start to | :26:44. | :26:49.
the day tomorrow. It will end up milder, and it is going to be | :26:49. | :26:52.
mainly dry. Some patches of rain in the north and north-west to get rid | :26:52. | :26:58.
of. Probably during the morning rush hour. To leave mainly dry | :26:58. | :27:01.
conditions. The cloud will be a sticking point tomorrow, | :27:01. | :27:07.
particularly across Fermanagh, Tyrone, up into Londonderry. The | :27:07. | :27:12.
best chance of aify bright intervals, sheltered parts of | :27:12. | :27:17.
Antrim and temperature, where ever you are they get up to ten or 11. | :27:17. | :27:21.
We will still have a noticeable wind tomorrow. That breeze stays us | :27:21. | :27:26.
with tomorrow night, fairly cloudy skies so much miler tomorrow. | :27:26. | :27:30.
Probably sitting round eight or nine. A bit of dampness in the air. | :27:30. | :27:34.
It is still cloudy and breezy on Friday. We have damp weather that | :27:34. | :27:37.
will move in during the afternoon. Once it clears it is drewer with | :27:37. | :27:43.
lighter winds, still a lot of cloud but hopefully a few bright spells | :27:43. | :27:49.
from time to time. A reminder of the main news. A plane trying to | :27:49. | :27:52.
land at an airstrip in County Down has crashed into a building site. | :27:52. | :27:58.
It is believed the pilot's injuries are not life-threatening. And in | :27:58. | :28:02.
national news tonight, six soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, as | :28:02. | :28:07.
the biggest loss of British life there for six years. Our late | :28:07. | :28:12. |
