Good evening. The headlines on BBC Newsline. | :00:27. | :00:31.
Whole horse boxes like these were used to hide a huge drug smuggling | :00:31. | :00:37.
operation. The Ulster Unionist leader | :00:37. | :00:43.
Defence's decision to sack his deputy. The police in the dock over | :00:43. | :00:46.
a jobs contract. More pupils are skipping school in | :00:46. | :00:48.
Protestant areas. But why? And what's being done to tackle the | :00:48. | :00:50.
problem? Join me live later in the programme. | :00:50. | :00:52.
We've an interview with Europe's other hero in Chicago - Rory's | :00:52. | :00:56.
Ryder Cup cop. And thundery downpours will | :00:56. | :00:59.
continue for a while this evening, but there is some autumn sunshine | :00:59. | :01:09.
:01:09. | :01:09. | ||
on the horizon. Two men from Northern Ireland, | :01:09. | :01:12.
described as being near the top of the drug dealing tree, have been | :01:12. | :01:14.
convicted in Scotland of attempting to smuggle cannabis worth up to | :01:14. | :01:23.
three quarters of a million pounds into Belfast. The men were using a | :01:23. | :01:26.
horse trading operation as a cover for the drug smuggling. Our | :01:26. | :01:34.
District Journalist Gordon Adair reports from Scotland. | :01:34. | :01:37.
Horseboxes by this are a common sight on ferries to and from | :01:37. | :01:42.
Northern Ireland. But when Scottish police searched this particular one | :01:42. | :01:47.
in April they found more than animals. In the back police found | :01:47. | :01:50.
four hessian bags containing more than a quarter of a million pounds | :01:50. | :01:57.
worth of cannabis. It had been divided into 25, one kg packages. | :01:58. | :02:02.
They were switched with molasses to help mask the smell. Through it | :02:02. | :02:08.
lorry was owned and driven by Kieran Murphy, a plaster from South | :02:08. | :02:13.
Armagh. He and his accomplice, Lawrence McAllister from County | :02:13. | :02:18.
Antrim, when near the top of the tree when it came to drugs | :02:18. | :02:22.
smuggling. In a statement issued at the time the pair were caught | :02:22. | :02:29.
Dumfries and Peloponnese said drugs would have been worth 250,000. But | :02:29. | :02:35.
that figure would have crept up and indeed tripled so that here in | :02:35. | :02:38.
Northern Ireland the drugs would have a street value of three | :02:38. | :02:41.
quarters of a million pounds. Murphy's accomplice was Lawrence | :02:42. | :02:46.
McAllister. This was his second appearance in a Scottish court in a | :02:46. | :02:51.
matter of weeks. A fortnight ago in a separate case, McAllister was | :02:51. | :02:55.
convicted of cruelty to animals. On that occasion he was again stopped | :02:55. | :02:59.
at Cairnryan, this time with a lorry-load of forces being | :02:59. | :03:04.
transported in appalling conditions. He was also convicted of moving | :03:04. | :03:10.
horses without passports and with having unlicensed drugs for animals. | :03:10. | :03:14.
McAllister was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling almost 7,000 | :03:14. | :03:19.
for trying to sell an injured animal at a horse market in England. | :03:19. | :03:24.
But both he and Murphy are now been held in the Scottish Prison whilst | :03:24. | :03:28.
they await sentencing on these offences. | :03:28. | :03:30.
The Ulster Unionist leader Mike Nesbitt has defended his decision | :03:30. | :03:33.
to sack John McCallister as his deputy leader. He argues that the | :03:33. | :03:36.
timing and content of the South Down MLA's speech on unionist unity | :03:36. | :03:41.
was inappropriate. Another Ulster Unionist MLA, Basil McCrea, has | :03:42. | :03:47.
described Mr Nesbitt's handling of the disciplinary action as brutal. | :03:47. | :03:52.
Here's Our Political Editor Mark Devenport. | :03:52. | :03:55.
Mike Nesbitt and Peter Robinson together at this weekend's re- | :03:55. | :03:58.
enactment of the signing of the Ulster covenant. A step towards | :03:58. | :04:08.
unionist unity? Or an engagement no unionist leader could avoid? | :04:08. | :04:10.
11 days ago John McCallister got a rousing reception for a speech on | :04:10. | :04:16.
health to the Ulster Unionist conference. But another speech last | :04:16. | :04:20.
Saturday went down rather more badly with his party leader. | :04:20. | :04:22.
Mr McCallister said reasonable observers might conclude the Ulster | :04:22. | :04:28.
Unionists are sleepwalking towards unity with the DUP. That enraged | :04:28. | :04:30.
Mike Nesbitt, who responded by sacking Mr McCallister as his | :04:30. | :04:40.
:04:40. | :04:41. | ||
deputy. There was a section in the speech when he talks about the | :04:41. | :04:46.
Ulster Unionist Party walking blindly into Unionist unity. That | :04:46. | :04:51.
is not the case. It was not appropriate to say that as there is | :04:51. | :04:55.
no evidence to suggest the that is going to happen. And to do it at | :04:55. | :05:00.
that time when we were celebrating the centenary of the Ulster | :05:00. | :05:02.
Covenant was wrong. John McCallister maintained his | :05:02. | :05:05.
silence at Stormont today. But his close friend Basil McCrea described | :05:05. | :05:12.
the sacking as brutal. Basil McCrea was not in the room, | :05:12. | :05:17.
John McAllister was. John McAllister has put out a statement, | :05:17. | :05:20.
he did not call it pulled off. Stormont the continuing divisions | :05:20. | :05:27.
made the Ulster Unionists the butt of jokes from other parties. | :05:28. | :05:31.
The Ulster Unionists need to be involved in a process of cohesion | :05:32. | :05:34.
themselves! The Ulster Unionists have been | :05:34. | :05:36.
struggling with internal divisions ever since the heady days when they | :05:36. | :05:44.
had to make some of the biggest decisions during the peace process. | :05:44. | :05:47.
This latest row shows that, even in their more diminished state, the | :05:47. | :05:49.
party has yet to close the gap between its traditional and liberal | :05:49. | :05:51.
wings. Our largest public sector union is | :05:51. | :05:53.
taking legal action to try to stop the police hiring around one | :05:53. | :05:56.
thousand temporary staff in a contract worth up to 180 million | :05:56. | :06:01.
pounds. NIPSA claims the use of external contractors to provide | :06:01. | :06:06.
support staff services is unlawful. The union also says retired RUC | :06:06. | :06:12.
officers are not entitled to be rehired as temporary agency staff. | :06:13. | :06:20.
Our Home Affairs Correspondent Vincent Kearney reports. | :06:20. | :06:24.
NIPSA members on the picket line at Stormont. The union also represents | :06:24. | :06:29.
more than 1,200 civilian staff who work for the PSNI. It has described | :06:29. | :06:31.
the policy of rehiring hundreds of retired RUC officers as temporary | :06:31. | :06:40.
agency staff during the past 10 years as "jobs for the boys". | :06:40. | :06:43.
Now it's opposing a plan by the Chief Constable to use an | :06:43. | :06:45.
employment agency to supply around 1,000 temporary staff for a range | :06:45. | :06:50.
of support roles. NIPSA says it believes many of those jobs will | :06:50. | :06:53.
also go to retired officers and is seeking a judicial review of the | :06:53. | :07:03.
:07:03. | :07:07. | ||
decision. We can find no statutory provision that allows these roles | :07:07. | :07:12.
to be outsourced. The roles that are included in his contract are | :07:12. | :07:15.
not specifically referred to in the legislation. | :07:15. | :07:18.
This is the second legal challenge to the PSNI's policy of employing | :07:18. | :07:21.
temporary agency staff. Last week, the mother of a loyalist murder | :07:21. | :07:23.
victim was granted permission to challenge the rehiring of retired | :07:23. | :07:25.
RUC officers to assist investigations into unsolved | :07:25. | :07:30.
murders. The police say their recruitment policy is fully | :07:30. | :07:37.
compliant with the law, and they'll robustly reject the NIPSA challenge. | :07:37. | :07:40.
News of this latest legal challenge comes at a critical time for the | :07:40. | :07:46.
PSNI. The government's spending watchdog, the Audit Office, will | :07:46. | :07:48.
tomorrow publish the findings of an investigation into the PSNI's use | :07:48. | :07:58.
of agency staff. Now in a few minutes, children | :07:58. | :08:02.
skipping school. Sarah Travers is in Monkstown. | :08:02. | :08:10.
Yes, absenteeism is higher in Protestant areas. I'll be hearing | :08:10. | :08:12.
about projects trying to tackle under-achievement, but also asking | :08:12. | :08:22.
:08:22. | :08:28. | ||
why so many children still slip through the net. | :08:28. | :08:32.
A relative of David Mills has appeared in court charged with his | :08:32. | :08:37.
murder. He was killed following incident in Ballynahinch at the | :08:37. | :08:45.
weekend. John Stanley Foster in -- of Dundrum spoke only to confirm | :08:45. | :08:49.
that he understood the charge. A police officer told the court she | :08:49. | :08:54.
believed she could connect him with the murder. 47 year-old David Mills | :08:54. | :08:58.
received serious head injuries during an incident a long Dromore | :08:58. | :09:02.
Street in Ballynahinch in the early hours of Sunday morning. The former | :09:02. | :09:06.
Irish League player later died in hospital. A number of relatives of | :09:06. | :09:11.
David Mills sacked along the back of the court room. They remain | :09:11. | :09:14.
silent throughout the entire proceedings. No application for | :09:14. | :09:19.
bail was made and Foster was remanded in custody to appear | :09:19. | :09:23.
before Downpatrick magistrates' court by a video link later this | :09:23. | :09:33.
:09:33. | :09:37. | ||
month. New figures show that the problem | :09:37. | :09:39.
of absenteeism from post primary schools is concentrated in | :09:39. | :09:41.
Protestant areas. The statistics were discovered by an Ulster | :09:41. | :09:43.
Unionist MLA, who is calling for urgent action. The issue was also | :09:43. | :09:45.
debated today at Stormont. Sarah Travers is at Monkstown Community | :09:45. | :09:53.
School for us this evening. Yes, the under achievement of | :09:53. | :09:55.
youngsters, especially of Protestant young boys, has been | :09:55. | :09:59.
worrying a lot of people for a long time. And now this - figures which | :09:59. | :10:01.
reveal the number of children skipping school is higher in | :10:01. | :10:11.
Protestant areas. Let us take a closer look at the figures. School | :10:11. | :10:21.
:10:21. | :10:27. | ||
attendance rates are over all very good. 95 percent for primaries and | :10:27. | :10:29.
93 percent for post primaries. But it appears schools in Protestant | :10:29. | :10:31.
areas aren't getting their gold stars. Out of 30 electoral wards | :10:31. | :10:34.
with high levels of absenteeism, 26 of those have a mainly Protestant | :10:34. | :10:41.
population. So is there a reason for this trend? We no control | :10:41. | :10:48.
schools get a lower levels of performance. Low unemployment can | :10:48. | :10:54.
have a disruptive effect on house holds. We know that unemployment is | :10:54. | :11:04.
:11:04. | :11:04. | ||
going up and perhaps factors that that could have an impact. | :11:04. | :11:06.
Experts say more statistics are needed before the experts can drill | :11:07. | :11:09.
down the reasons for lower school attendance in Protestant areas. At | :11:09. | :11:11.
this school, they've worked hard to bring their attendance rates up to | :11:11. | :11:13.
the average, with a number of measures including putting parents | :11:13. | :11:20.
in the picture. If the pupil is absent we can immediately text the | :11:20. | :11:26.
parent if we have not heard from them. That has thrown up | :11:26. | :11:29.
difficulties where parents have not known that the child was not at | :11:29. | :11:32.
school. This school is in the middle of three of the electoral | :11:32. | :11:34.
wards where absenteeism is an issue. They're tackling it by rewarding | :11:34. | :11:43.
good attendance. At present our attendance rate is 92%. That has | :11:43. | :11:49.
risen from around 88% a few years ago. We're offering incentives in | :11:49. | :11:53.
terms of prizes and rewards if pupils are hike attenders. This | :11:53. | :12:01.
afternoon at Stormont there were calls for urgent action. There is | :12:01. | :12:06.
no quick fix solution to this but I have to say there has been a 7% | :12:06. | :12:16.
:12:16. | :12:18. | ||
decrease in absenteeism. But we still have 3881 pupils referred to | :12:18. | :12:25.
the education welfare service. So there is a lot of work done, a lot | :12:25. | :12:35.
:12:35. | :12:40. | ||
more to be done moving this forward. Missing school does lead to under- | :12:40. | :12:43.
achievement. Many projects are running throughout the country | :12:43. | :12:49.
tried to tackle this issue. One project runs in schools operated by | :12:49. | :12:53.
the Prince's Trust. You're the principle here at Monkstown | :12:53. | :12:57.
Community School. The figures today show that more people in Protestant | :12:58. | :13:02.
areas are skipping school. Is that a surprise to you can smack it is | :13:02. | :13:06.
not a surprise. My experience is that there are a number of children | :13:07. | :13:12.
skipping school. So did not as surprised. What other reasons | :13:12. | :13:18.
behind this? Sometimes it is lack of interest, sometimes social | :13:18. | :13:24.
reasons. All we can look that is what we can do with around | :13:24. | :13:29.
curriculum. To try to make it more interesting and that them see the | :13:30. | :13:36.
value of of education. We used one programme as part of a wider | :13:36. | :13:41.
curriculum. Within that we try to teach children were low achievers | :13:41. | :13:47.
for various reasons. Some of them would have particular learning | :13:47. | :13:51.
needs but others would be disaffected from the entire | :13:51. | :13:56.
education system, basically lack of interest or lack of confidence. | :13:56. | :14:01.
Maybe they cannot deal with the subjects. So we bring them in to | :14:01. | :14:07.
the programme to give them projects that they take ownership of. And at | :14:07. | :14:13.
the end of the day they can achieve credits. One of those who has left | :14:13. | :14:20.
school is Corey Murphy who used to be in his classroom. Is it fair to | :14:20. | :14:25.
say that when you're at school you did not come very often? I didn't | :14:25. | :14:31.
come too often. There was better things to do outside school, as I | :14:31. | :14:36.
thought at the time. Now I have left I have realised that there is | :14:36. | :14:41.
not under should have attended more, I wish I had. He took part in this | :14:41. | :14:48.
programme, what did it do that major changes Roundabout School? | :14:48. | :14:55.
Welt it just made it more fun, and I did stuff that I did outside of | :14:56. | :15:05.
:15:06. | :15:07. | ||
school but inside school. You're studying retell at the moment. If | :15:07. | :15:12.
you have not done the course, where would you be at the moment? Won the | :15:12. | :15:17.
qualifications that I got have helped me get my place in the | :15:17. | :15:27.
technology college. What are your hopes for the future? If I do not | :15:27. | :15:32.
own my own shop I would like to be high up in somebody else's shop or | :15:32. | :15:36.
in betrayed. If you could give a message to other young people | :15:36. | :15:39.
watching who do not go to school at the moment, what would you say to | :15:40. | :15:46.
them the? I would say go to school, it is really worth your time. Do | :15:46. | :15:55.
not leave it until later when you go to Technology College. | :15:55. | :16:05.
:16:05. | :16:06. | ||
Thank you for joining us on BBC Newsline. Back to the studio. | :16:06. | :16:12.
Still to come on the programme. Get me to the tee on time - the | :16:12. | :16:21.
speedy cop who got Rory to the Ryder Cup. | :16:21. | :16:25.
Officers are said I should have taken him somewhere else! But we | :16:25. | :16:32.
take care of everyone. The imminent closure of ten JJB | :16:32. | :16:34.
Sports stores means shoppers are benefiting from their closing down | :16:34. | :16:44.
sale. Almost 150 people are to lose their jobs here with the demise of | :16:44. | :16:45.
the UK company. Our North-West reporter, Keiron Tourish discovered | :16:45. | :16:52.
that in his area youth employment will be hit hard. | :16:52. | :16:56.
The closing down sale of JJB Sports up on the Strand Road prompted a | :16:56. | :17:01.
frenetic reaction. Long queues formed last night and this morning | :17:01. | :17:06.
as people bought many products that were heavily discounted. It is | :17:06. | :17:16.
:17:16. | :17:17. | ||
quite chaotic, everything is half price. A lot of bargains. 220 | :17:17. | :17:26.
worth of bargains! It is good to get a bit of a discount. I had been | :17:27. | :17:32.
queuing for the past 30 minutes. This store and another in Antrim | :17:32. | :17:35.
and Lisburn have been bought over by sports direct and will continue | :17:35. | :17:43.
trading, providing jobs for 65 people in Northern Ireland. But 133 | :17:43. | :17:48.
JJB Sports stores are closing in the UK with the loss of 2200 jobs. | :17:48. | :17:53.
Some analysts believe the demise of JJB Sports was inevitable. They | :17:53. | :17:58.
point to the fact that the company grew too quickly in what was | :17:58. | :18:02.
already in a saturated market place. One business experts says the | :18:02. | :18:06.
continuing closure of high-street stores such as JJB Sports will be | :18:06. | :18:10.
acutely felt in cities like Derry where youth unemployment is at its | :18:10. | :18:18.
highest. JJB Sports was one of those stores that did employ young | :18:18. | :18:23.
people. And we have a particularly bad situation for use on employment | :18:23. | :18:31.
in Derry. It is certainly assigned of the times. Last year over 1000 | :18:31. | :18:41.
:18:41. | :18:41. | ||
traders here closed and the trend could double this year. | :18:41. | :18:45.
Well the company is also well known for its sponsorship links with the | :18:45. | :18:55.
:18:55. | :18:55. | ||
Irish Football Association. Austin O'Callaghan is here. What about the | :18:55. | :19:00.
sponsorship deals already in place? Are a information at this evening | :19:00. | :19:04.
is that the Irish Football Association is waiting to speak | :19:04. | :19:07.
with the administrators of the group. A commercial deal has been a | :19:07. | :19:12.
place for more than a decade and the company is still the main | :19:12. | :19:17.
sponsor of the Irish Cup competition. On the field of play, | :19:17. | :19:22.
Belfast rivals Linfield and Glentoran were in County Antrim | :19:22. | :19:32.
:19:32. | :19:35. | ||
Shield action. Glentoran lost for the first time this season, against | :19:35. | :19:38.
bitter rivals Linfield in the County Antrim Shield. And it was a | :19:38. | :19:40.
familiar face who was the hero for David Jeffrey's side, in a 3-2 | :19:40. | :19:43.
victory as Thomas Kane reports. Football matches can change in an | :19:43. | :19:45.
instant. Less than 20 seconds after conceeding an equaliser away from | :19:45. | :19:47.
home, this happened. When Linfield need a goal, Peter Thompson usually | :19:47. | :19:57.
delivers. In the 89th minute, the striker did what he does best. | :19:57. | :20:01.
did not really think I was going to get to it but I just decided to | :20:01. | :20:11.
:20:11. | :20:11. | ||
take a gamble and tried to get on the end of it. | :20:11. | :20:14.
Glentoran have been Linfield's bogey side over the last season and | :20:14. | :20:18.
a half. The champions have failed to beat them in their last six | :20:18. | :20:28.
:20:28. | :20:28. | ||
meetings. And they couldn't be separated for most of this game. | :20:28. | :20:30.
Twice Linfield took the lead, Daryll Fordyce putting the visitors | :20:30. | :20:40.

2 -1 up with just six minutes left. But twice, Glentoran struck back, | :20:41. | :20:43.
Jimmy Callacher thought that he had forced the game into extra time, | :20:43. | :20:53.
only for Thompson to pop up with the winner. That is football. We | :20:53. | :20:56.
had a great passage has played during the game from start to | :20:56. | :21:03.
finish. It is a sign of things to come with this Cup. We switched off | :21:03. | :21:06.
after getting the equaliser. Despite dominating local football | :21:06. | :21:08.
in recent years, Linfield haven't won the County Antrim shield since | :21:08. | :21:18.

2006. The police officer who rushed Rory | :21:19. | :21:22.
McIlroy to the Medinah golf club just in time for his crucial Ryder | :21:22. | :21:24.
Cup singles match has admitted to having some regrets about helping | :21:24. | :21:28.
out the European team. Pat Rollins was on hand to drive McIlroy from | :21:28. | :21:31.
his hotel to the course, after the Ulsterman made a mistake with his | :21:31. | :21:34.
tee-off time. Rollins, who's a deputy Police Chief and a keen golf | :21:34. | :21:42.
fan, has been speaking to Stephen Watson. | :21:42. | :21:46.
Back to work today, the American police man who helped Europe win | :21:46. | :21:52.
the Ryder Cup. He rushed Rory McIlroy to the course after the | :21:52. | :21:57.
world number one had got the time- zone and tee-off times mixed up. | :21:57. | :22:02.
checked to make sure all the golfers had left the hotel. And was | :22:02. | :22:09.
surprised to hear no one had seen Nouri leaves. So we were trying to | :22:09. | :22:19.
:22:19. | :22:20. | ||
locate him. -- no one had seen Rory McIlroy. So we got a bit worried | :22:20. | :22:24.
when we could not find him at the hotel were stopped it is not the | :22:24. | :22:28.
first time that Rory McIlroy has been in a police car. After winning | :22:28. | :22:33.
the US Open last year, he got an escort on the way home. But this | :22:33. | :22:38.
journey was a little faster and a lot more important. It was | :22:38. | :22:42.
certainly an unforgettable experience for the Chicago cop for. | :22:42. | :22:46.
I used my radio to call ahead to the command centre the course to | :22:46. | :22:54.
let them know that we were on the way. I mentioned to him that if he | :22:54. | :23:00.
got motion sickness, I wanted him to be healthy when he jumped out of | :23:00. | :23:07.
the car! No danger that you may have diverted him to somewhere | :23:07. | :23:12.
else?! I have already been teased a bunch of times already by fellow | :23:13. | :23:18.
officers that I should have taken him somewhere else! Well if it is | :23:18. | :23:22.
good enough for Rory McIlroy, it is good enough for me. I have got a | :23:22. | :23:32.
:23:32. | :23:36. | ||
flight to catch! Put your foot down, please. | :23:36. | :23:39.
As work experience placements go, a stint with a Formula One team is an | :23:39. | :23:42.
unlikely ambition for most of us. But a Belfast student has done just | :23:42. | :23:44.
that, up close alongside reigning F1 champion driver Sebastian Vettel, | :23:44. | :23:50.
team-mate Mark Webber and their Red Bull Racing team. Denise Watson | :23:50. | :23:56.
reports. Sebastian Vettel celebrates his | :23:56. | :24:00.
triumph at the Singapore Grand Prix. But it takes a massive team effort | :24:00. | :24:03.
behind the scenes to ensure a Formula 1 driver takes the | :24:03. | :24:06.
chequered flag. A mechanical engineering student from Queens | :24:06. | :24:10.
University has experienced it first hand. He won a placement out of | :24:10. | :24:17.
thousands of hopefuls. There's a lot of new talent coming through | :24:17. | :24:19.
and they want to pick people who maybe have had ideas they haven't | :24:19. | :24:26.
considered. And as F1 is always changing, it's a development race | :24:26. | :24:32.
and about who can adapt the quickest. So did the "access all | :24:32. | :24:37.
areas" pass give Christopher a taste for life in the pitlane? | :24:37. | :24:41.
All the fans were queuing to see Sebastian and Mark and it was weird. | :24:41. | :24:44.
For years I've been on the other side of the barrier, but I was in | :24:44. | :24:51.
the pitlane looking out! It's just not a normal thing. It was quite | :24:51. | :25:01.
:25:01. | :25:01. | ||
extraordinary to be on the team side. They will do whatever it | :25:01. | :25:03.
takes to go quicker. And it's that creative thinking and getting the | :25:03. | :25:08.
right people that makes all the difference. As work placements go, | :25:08. | :25:18.
:25:18. | :25:20. | ||
it certainly was fast track! And Celtic are currently leading in | :25:20. | :25:26.
their game against Spartak. It's been a mixed bag weather wise | :25:26. | :25:29.
today - Cecilia is here with the today - Cecilia is here with the | :25:29. | :25:36.
latest forecast. We had some really heavy | :25:36. | :25:39.
thunderstorms at times especially across the West and still some | :25:40. | :25:46.
downpours around for a time tonight. You can see those on the road or | :25:46. | :25:56.
:25:56. | :25:58. | ||
picture. -- radar. And it is still raining in quite a few areas. Some | :25:58. | :26:02.
thundery downpours around in the next couple of hours especially | :26:02. | :26:08.
across Northern Counties. This picture from the Glenshane area | :26:08. | :26:18.
:26:18. | :26:22. | ||
just some time ago. But after midnight it begins to dry up. And | :26:22. | :26:27.
because there is still a breeze around it will not be especially | :26:27. | :26:31.
chilly either. Still some showers to come in the morning rush-hour | :26:31. | :26:35.
tomorrow but the day does improve as it goes on. The sun breaking | :26:35. | :26:40.
through from mid-morning onwards. Any showers are tending to ease the | :26:40. | :26:48.
way as the afternoon goes on. And an improved picture especially in | :26:48. | :26:54.
western areas. Temperatures around 12 degrees. Slightly more of a | :26:54. | :27:01.
breeze tomorrow as well. So a definite Clones in the air. -- | :27:01. | :27:08.
coolness. Tomorrow like a little cooler as well, possibly some frost | :27:08. | :27:16.
in some rural spots. The wind changes direction on Thursday and | :27:16. | :27:22.
it begins to feel a little milder. And as we head towards the weekend, | :27:22. | :27:26.
pressure is building. So the showers become fewer and lighter | :27:26. | :27:32.
and there will be more in the way up sunshine. But of course it is | :27:32. | :27:34.
autumn so we will have some colder autumn so we will have some colder | :27:34. | :27:38. |
