Despenser Road in Tewkesbury - the scene at the start of a series of | :01:25. | :01:30.
events. Police had been called after reports that the dog had | :01:30. | :01:34.

of the Dog and had gone to see if everything was OK after seeing the | :01:38. | :01:41.
dog running around outside. She said she wasn't too badly injured | :01:41. | :01:46.
and is angry the dog was eventually shot dead by the police. They | :01:46. | :01:49.
should have grabbed the dock and handed down a shot that was one of | :01:49. | :01:57.
those things the pits at Forest lake. -- that puts it is late. They | :01:57. | :02:02.
said that at the dock do not come down, they would shoot it. Police | :02:02. | :02:07.
say their efforts to come down the dock with the Taser gun did not | :02:07. | :02:11.
work. Eventually they attracted several streets away and felt they | :02:11. | :02:16.
had no option but to shoot it. They say it was a last resort. Away have | :02:16. | :02:21.
reports that it was running loose. It had already endured two people, | :02:21. | :02:25.

A man has been arrested in Bristol found dead in the West Midlands. | :03:06. | :03:09.
Her body was discovered in a flat in Tipton last night. She hasn't | :03:09. | :03:13.
been identified and a postmortem examination has yet been carried | :03:13. | :03:16.
out. A a27-year-old man was arrested a Bristol Temple Meads | :03:17. | :03:20.

The search for a man who fell from a bridge into the River Wye in | :03:25. | :03:28.
Gloucestershire has been called off. Rikki Baldwin was reported missing | :03:28. | :03:31.
after falling from the bridge between separate and Chepstow in | :03:31. | :03:36.
the early hours of yesterday. An extensive land and water search | :03:36. | :03:39.
through a thriller son was called off last night. Police are now | :03:39. | :03:45.
examining CCTV the -- CCTV footage as part of their investigation. | :03:45. | :03:50.
A Bristol man who accidentally shot on a laser pen at a police | :03:50. | :03:54.
helicopter has been told by a judge he avoided jail by a whisker today. | :03:54. | :03:59.
Stuart firing was walking his dogs when he began shining the pen in | :03:59. | :04:02.
the air. He told the court he did not realise the lasers were | :04:02. | :04:06.
appearing a vision of the helicopter pilot, you had to make | :04:06. | :04:11.
an emergency landing. Mr Baring pleaded guilty to a charge of | :04:11. | :04:15.
recklessly and negligently acting in a manner likely to endanger an | :04:15. | :04:21.
aircraft, and was given a 12 of community order, a three-month | :04:21. | :04:23.
curfew and ordered to pay 200 and costs. | :04:23. | :04:28.
A huge surge in the Forest of Dean involving a helicopter and police | :04:28. | :04:31.
dogs was knighted for five hours today after a nine-year-old boy was | :04:31. | :04:39.
reported missing. -- was mounted. The alarm was raised just before | :04:39. | :04:42.
midday after children told her parents the boy had -- they had | :04:42. | :04:46.
been playing with had disappeared from the campsite. But after you | :04:46. | :04:51.
was found, it will transpired the boys had never been lost and it was | :04:51. | :04:54.
a misunderstanding. It seems it has won quite a day | :04:54. | :04:58.
there? It has. And that wet evening. There | :04:58. | :05:04.
are some hardy caravanners still tried to enjoy the break. Quite | :05:04. | :05:08.
different to the one I came across when I arrived at four o'clock this | :05:08. | :05:12.
afternoon. Then there was substantial police activity here. | :05:12. | :05:15.
There was a police search underweight far this missing nine- | :05:15. | :05:19.
year-old boy. It happened after a report came in after midday. He had | :05:19. | :05:24.
been playing with three other girls at the campsite. They had been | :05:24. | :05:27.
collecting some would fire a den. The girl suddenly discovered the | :05:27. | :05:31.
boy was missing and they alerted their parents. Their parents were | :05:31. | :05:37.
alerted and then they alerted the campsite management. The police | :05:37. | :05:41.
helicopter was put up and scoured the area for quite some time. Then | :05:41. | :05:44.
around five o'clock, another flurry of activity and the police supply | :05:44. | :05:48.
had smiles on their faces. It turned out the boy had been found. | :05:48. | :05:53.
I will leave it up to their officer to explain to you to what -- | :05:53. | :05:58.
exactly what happened. The family had been on a long walk in the | :05:58. | :06:03.
woods and visited a local tourist attractions. They came back today | :06:03. | :06:08.
to find the activity. They found them not to say please report to | :06:08. | :06:12.
the camp securities side. We had managed ascertain the child was | :06:12. | :06:16.
saved. I imagine they were surprised. They were. We are | :06:16. | :06:20.
pleased that that was the outcome today. Yes, the police told me that | :06:20. | :06:24.
they had to investigate every single report of a missing person | :06:24. | :06:28.
very seriously. In this case ended well. Some people would say if | :06:28. | :06:32.
widen the use one of these to try and track the family down, for a | :06:32. | :06:36.
mobile phone. There is hardly a signal here. We managed to kite | :06:36. | :06:39.
sight of the family leaving the office there when the news came | :06:39. | :06:43.
through that their boy had been found. -- hot site of the family. | :06:43. | :06:51.
The mother was surprised at the response. They will enjoy the rest | :06:51. | :06:55.
of the break. The police did carry out their duties in the way they | :06:55. | :07:00.
saw fit, but luckily this has ended well this evening. | :07:00. | :07:08.
You are watching BBC Points West. Ian will be here with the latest | :07:08. | :07:11.
weather forecast sharply. Before that there is plenty more to | :07:12. | :07:16.
bring you, including: Still battling for Bath - the former | :07:16. | :07:20.
science teacher celebrating 20 years as a local MP. And after the | :07:20. | :07:24.
Easter weekend, can it will now be a happy end to the season for | :07:24. | :07:32.
Bristol City and Swindon football clubs? | :07:32. | :07:36.
It has cost millions of pounds over the years and has already been | :07:36. | :07:40.
rejected once by the Government. Now the idea of a bypass road | :07:40. | :07:44.
around Westbury is being put forward again. The main A350 runs | :07:44. | :07:48.
right through the middle of the town and traffic queues keep on | :07:48. | :07:52.
growing. But previous plans to relieve the pressure suggested | :07:52. | :07:58.
building a bypass through some of the area's finest countryside. | :07:58. | :08:04.
This is what it quite on the A350 through Westbury looks like. Still | :08:04. | :08:08.
today there was an almost constant stream of cars, vans and lorries. | :08:08. | :08:13.
There is congestion and pollution and the future looks busier. Many | :08:13. | :08:19.
say this town's needs a bypass. large majority would agree that we | :08:19. | :08:23.
need abide pass. There are those who do not care when it goes, | :08:23. | :08:28.
whether it goes to the east of the West. And there are those who are | :08:28. | :08:32.
particularly against the idea of going to the east and that is | :08:32. | :08:36.
because the countryside to the east is more attractive. But overall, I | :08:36. | :08:41.
think the town once a bypass. is the area to the east of the town | :08:41. | :08:45.
where the old bypass was proposed. Straight through their wellhead | :08:45. | :08:50.
valley. A planning inquiry said know. When you stop here for a | :08:50. | :08:55.
moment and look you can see the natural beauty of this valley. It | :08:55. | :09:00.
is why a bypass road was turned down last time and it is why local | :09:00. | :09:04.
people are campaigning to keep this looking the way it does. Many | :09:05. | :09:09.
campaigners accept there is a need for a new roads. The argument is | :09:09. | :09:14.
over its location. We thought it was done and dusted two years ago | :09:14. | :09:17.
when the inspectors said No It should not be pursued because of | :09:17. | :09:21.
the exceptional beauty of the countryside here. And its | :09:21. | :09:25.
tranquillity. And now we are finding it is raising its ugly head | :09:25. | :09:30.
again. And it is totally unacceptable. It is such a lovely | :09:30. | :09:35.
area and to put a roadway through it bid -- would be disastrous. I | :09:35. | :09:39.
cannot think anybody in the right mind would want to put a road | :09:39. | :09:45.
through this lovely area. The last failed bypass a tent took years to | :09:45. | :09:51.
plan and cost the taxpayer millions. This time everyone holds options | :09:51. | :09:56.
will be considered. But some are already gearing up to fight for the | :09:56. | :10:05.
countryside once again. Severn Trent Water is considering | :10:05. | :10:10.
supplying homes in drought-hit East Anglia. 13 million litres of water | :10:10. | :10:15.
could be transferred every day using a network of canals. The | :10:15. | :10:19.
operation could begin as early as June. Severn Trent is Curly not | :10:19. | :10:23.
predicting any water restrictions in its own area and says the scheme | :10:23. | :10:27.
would only happen if there is enough water to keep its own | :10:27. | :10:31.
customers supplied. -- is currently not predicting. | :10:31. | :10:35.
If it is on this day 20 years ago a former science teacher was getting | :10:35. | :10:42.
used his new job as MP per Bath. Don Foster's win cost one of the | :10:42. | :10:45.
biggest upsets for the 1992 election night by ousting Tory | :10:45. | :10:50.
stalwart Chris Packham. So two decades and one day into his term, | :10:50. | :10:58.
if we asked him if he had got the hang of it yet. -- Chris Patten. | :10:58. | :11:08.

20 years of trying my best to serve the people of Bath. Riding the ups | :11:40. | :11:44.
and downs of being an MP, he has remained firmly in his seat, even | :11:44. | :11:51.
through the bumpy ride of MPs' expenses. Adapting to new leaders, | :11:51. | :11:54.
welcoming the coalition and watching some of the biggest | :11:54. | :12:00.
changes in the way MPs do their job. I have got something like 500 | :12:00. | :12:04.
people a week now contacting me, wanting to express a view, getting | :12:04. | :12:09.
in contact with us about a particular problem that they have | :12:09. | :12:14.
got. They can do it so much easily, so there is a much bigger pressure | :12:14. | :12:20.
on us. Others in the West have had similar longevity. Liam Fox became | :12:21. | :12:28.
MP for would spirit, now North Somerset, that same night. For | :12:28. | :12:35.
elections later and Don Foster has trouble that original majority, | :12:35. | :12:40.
winning it is as than 10 by 12,000 votes. I job he says he still loves | :12:40. | :12:47.
and has no plans to give up. -- 2010. The first Thursday in the in | :12:47. | :12:51.
2015 is where the election will be and I will make a decision on what | :12:51. | :13:00.
I will do long before that, but not yet. I enjoy what I do too much. | :13:00. | :13:04.
Liam Fox and Geoffrey Clifton-Brown were also elected that night, but | :13:04. | :13:08.
did you know the longest serving MP in the West is Dawn Primarolo, | :13:08. | :13:14.
elected for label end 1987. -- for Labour. | :13:14. | :13:19.
Today also marks another anniversary. It is 100 years since | :13:19. | :13:24.
the Titanic sets sail on a fateful voyage for New York. Their ship was | :13:25. | :13:28.
dubbed unthinkable but when down on April 15th killing more than 1,500 | :13:29. | :13:33.
people on board. To commemorate the centenary of the tragedy, a travel | :13:33. | :13:39.
company has a rich for the cruise ship HMS Balmoral to be traced the | :13:39. | :13:43.
final journey of the share. Our reporter is on board and has sent | :13:43. | :13:47.
this report. Here on the Titanic memorial cruise | :13:47. | :13:53.
it is very busy. Lots of them at the moment queuing for any type of | :13:53. | :13:57.
memorabilia they can get their hands on. That is part of the | :13:57. | :14:03.
screws which left on South happen on Sunday. Organised by this man. - | :14:03. | :14:07.
- Southampton. Explain when you had this idea about taking passengers | :14:07. | :14:12.
back to the wreck site. It started five years ago when a gentleman | :14:12. | :14:15.
came into the shop and what about the concept of a cruise. I could | :14:15. | :14:20.
not get it out of my head. 12 months after, I secured this | :14:20. | :14:27.
wonderful ship and sucked out about 18 months later. People have paid | :14:27. | :14:32.
up to 6,000 each. Some people watch this and think it is wrong, | :14:32. | :14:37.
it is disrespectful. It is a bad form of tourism. I take the lead | :14:37. | :14:42.
from the descendants on board the vessel. For them they cannot think | :14:42. | :14:45.
of any better way to commemorate their loved ones. For me that is | :14:45. | :14:49.
the most important thing of the screws. It is honouring those who | :14:50. | :14:56.
died all those years ago. Thank you very much. I have heard people were | :14:56. | :15:01.
talking. I have spotted people from Cheltenham. We will catch up with | :15:01. | :15:11.
:15:11. | :15:15. | ||
We have just heard that MS Balmoral has had to turn round because of an | :15:15. | :15:20.
emergency. A medical emergency. The passengers family are aware of the | :15:20. | :15:28.
situation. They still hope to reach the wreckage site at the weekend. | :15:28. | :15:38.
:15:38. | :15:39. | ||
To mark the anniversary, etchings are to go on display in New York | :15:39. | :15:46.
City. Mary, who has painted them, joins us now. What was the | :15:46. | :15:50.
experience of your own family? grant Mother's oldest brother was | :15:50. | :15:56.
on the ship working as a steward and he was only 18. He had worked | :15:56. | :16:01.
on other ships owned by the same White Star liner and her fiance was | :16:01. | :16:09.
on board working. This affected her because neither of them were able | :16:09. | :16:15.
to survive and she lost two very important people to her at that | :16:15. | :16:21.
time. Eventually, she did meet another man some years later, | :16:21. | :16:31.
:16:31. | :16:32. | ||
otherwise I wouldn't be here. When she died, I found a few newspaper | :16:32. | :16:39.
cuttings and a card from a memorial service from this date. That | :16:39. | :16:46.
inspired me to do a project involving some etchings and various | :16:46. | :16:51.
art work. We can have a look at a few of them. One of them is behind | :16:51. | :16:59.
you. We have Titanic herself to stop we also have a collage in the | :16:59. | :17:03.
background and it is a drowning hand. I find that one that really | :17:03. | :17:11.
moving. Some of the documents which I found belonged to the family and | :17:11. | :17:21.
:17:21. | :17:21. | ||
I also found requests for help that were sent out, SOS messages that | :17:22. | :17:27.
were sent out from the Titanic. Also certificates that were issued | :17:27. | :17:32.
by the bodies which inspected ships. Although the Titanic had 16 | :17:32. | :17:38.
lifeboats, those were passed as being adequate at the time. They | :17:38. | :17:42.
are incredibly moving images and you will be showing them in New | :17:42. | :17:48.
York. An incredible honour. It is fantastic. I have a website for my | :17:48. | :17:56.
art work and put this work on that and out of the blue, a message came | :17:56. | :18:01.
through the website from the noble Maritime Museum in New York. They | :18:01. | :18:05.
are having an exhibition of contemporary art to commemorate the | :18:05. | :18:11.
Titanic sinking and asked me if I would send some of my etchings over. | :18:11. | :18:21.
:18:21. | :18:21. | ||
They have six there. I hope they go down well. | :18:21. | :18:27.
You can see more of these images on a website. | :18:27. | :18:31.
The Easter weekend couldn't have been much better for Bristol City | :18:31. | :18:34.
and Swindon Town football clubs bicker both sides picked up six | :18:35. | :18:39.
points out of six. What does this mean for their | :18:39. | :18:44.
season? Alistair is here to tell us. Hopefully it means happy endings | :18:44. | :18:52.
for both. Bristol City, it is looking a lot rosier. Let's look at | :18:52. | :18:59.
the table. As you can see, they have a cushion. Promotion-chasing | :18:59. | :19:05.
sides Birmingham and West Ham of their next two opponents. As far as | :19:05. | :19:12.
Swindon are concerned, they are on the cusp of going up. They are 10 | :19:12. | :19:16.
clear of Crawley. The fans might be able to start those promotion | :19:16. | :19:20.
celebrations this weekend. Neither side are willing to take anything | :19:20. | :19:27.
for granted just yet. There is nothing like that winning | :19:27. | :19:33.
feeling. For Bristol City, East has bought renewed hope of escaping the | :19:33. | :19:39.
drop. Hopefully we will stay up. has given us confidence going into | :19:39. | :19:45.
the last games. I think they will do it. They will really bring it | :19:45. | :19:49.
forward. Having started the holiday period in the relegation zone, they | :19:49. | :19:54.
now have destiny in their own hands. The win over Coventry putting them | :19:54. | :20:00.
four points clear of the relegation zone with four games left to play. | :20:00. | :20:04.
As big as the celebrations were yesterday, now it is back to | :20:04. | :20:11.
focusing on a difficult game away to Birmingham. A lot of people | :20:11. | :20:14.
including the lads would have been happy if that had been the last | :20:14. | :20:19.
game of the season yesterday. We still have work to do and we know | :20:19. | :20:24.
that. There will be no complacency or thinking the job is done because | :20:24. | :20:30.
there is still plenty of work to be done. It has looked a done deal for | :20:31. | :20:38.
a long time but Palo de Canio's Swindon are still up. They could | :20:38. | :20:43.
achieve it this weekend at home to Plymouth with a ten-point advantage | :20:43. | :20:46.
over 4th place, surely now the manager can admit his team will be | :20:46. | :20:56.
:20:56. | :20:59. | ||
promoted. Maybe I will believe it. I don't want to say anything. I am | :20:59. | :21:05.
arrogant, we are ready to go up. Cheltenham hope to join them but a | :21:05. | :21:09.
defeat at Rotherham means they meet a nervous final four games as they | :21:09. | :21:14.
try to make the play-offs. We will look at Cheltenham on | :21:14. | :21:17.
Friday night's programme. That leaves Yeovil Town who despite | :21:17. | :21:21.
losing yesterday should have done enough to stay in League One. They | :21:21. | :21:26.
have reached the 50. Mark, generally regarded as safe. They | :21:26. | :21:30.
are eight points clear of the relegation zone and Bristol Rovers | :21:30. | :21:33.
will be in League Two. They are hoping to finish in the top half | :21:33. | :21:39.
but they will have to do better than yesterday's defeat at Crewe. | :21:39. | :21:46.
Rugby now and Bath is clear out of coaching staff. Martin Haag will be | :21:46. | :21:52.
following director of rugby say in my Keegan out of that season. The | :21:52. | :22:02.
:22:02. | :22:02. | ||
other code, would be staying. More changes to come in the next few | :22:02. | :22:12.
:22:12. | :22:14. | ||
There is a big question in Somerset tonight. Is it a Banksy or not? | :22:14. | :22:19.
I could say yes. A piece of work which has appeared | :22:19. | :22:22.
beneath a bridge in the centre of Taunton is said to be the work of | :22:23. | :22:27.
the world famous Bristol based artist. | :22:27. | :22:32.
What's more, the word on the street is that it is revenge for the local | :22:33. | :22:39.
mayors criticism of graffiti and also banksia himself. -- Banksy | :22:39. | :22:43.
himself. It appeared overnight and is | :22:43. | :22:48.
raising eyebrows in Taunton, even among those who have never heard of | :22:48. | :22:58.
:22:58. | :23:00. | ||
him. Have you heard of him? Know. He is famous. I wouldn't think it | :23:00. | :23:06.
is a Banksy. His work is normally on a bigger scale. It looks like | :23:06. | :23:14.
his style, certainly. It could be. The rat is a Banksy trade mark and | :23:14. | :23:20.
it wasn't that long ago that the local Mayor was being critical of | :23:20. | :23:25.
the world's most famous graffiti artist. It was after a blitz of | :23:25. | :23:29.
graffiti attacks on the scent of Taunton that the Mayor smoke -- | :23:29. | :23:35.
spoke his mind and pointed the finger of blame at one man. Banksy | :23:35. | :23:39.
has a lot to answer for. He has some brilliant pictures worth a lot | :23:39. | :23:43.
of money and people are taking off after him thinking they can get | :23:43. | :23:52.
away with it. Should they have done that? Not really. He brought his | :23:52. | :23:58.
grandson to see the art work and was sick -- sticking to his view. | :23:58. | :24:05.
Graffiti is wrong, famous or otherwise. You are teaching young | :24:05. | :24:09.
children that they can put it anywhere they want to. That is not | :24:09. | :24:16.
correct. This evening, people close to Banksy insisted it wasn't his | :24:16. | :24:20.
work but such is the enigmatic nature of the man, the chances are | :24:20. | :24:28.
you will never know for sure. Before the e-mails start coming in, | :24:28. | :24:35.
I am not Banksy. Sunshine and showers and a typical | :24:36. | :24:39.
April day. I will run out of different ways to | :24:39. | :24:49.
:24:49. | :24:52. | ||
That is the only summary we can come up with at the moment though. | :24:52. | :24:58.
In some districts, it won't feel too bad for this time of year. Low- | :24:58. | :25:08.
pressure it remains scented up over Scandinavia. It is typical out | :25:08. | :25:18.
:25:18. | :25:20. | ||
there for this time of year. Even rainfall radar has shown how the | :25:20. | :25:24.
shell was caught going over the afternoon. We had some rumbles of | :25:24. | :25:34.
thunder. We still have some showers in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. | :25:34. | :25:38.
We are expecting those to fade away through tonight and then they will | :25:38. | :25:43.
be replaced by some further showers coming up through the Bristol | :25:43. | :25:49.
Channel. They will move inland and a good deal of clear weather is | :25:49. | :25:58.
about. We have a cooler night. Temperatures will be down to three | :25:58. | :26:08.
Tomorrow morning, we will start with a few showers around but we | :26:08. | :26:15.
have warmer weather into the rush hour period. The showers were later | :26:15. | :26:20.
form. We are expecting parts of Gloucestershire to see most of that | :26:20. | :26:29.
rain. If you are under gusty winds, it will feel unpleasant. There | :26:29. | :26:37.
would be less share was four western parts of Somerset. -- there | :26:37. | :26:41.
