Good evening. Tributes have been paid to a paraglider who died after

an accident on a beach in Pembrokeshire. Steve John, who was

42, and from Milford Haven, has been described as a "funny, caring,

warm family man" who excelled at many outdoor sports. Here's Kate

Morgan. Steve John from Milford Haven had

only recently qualified as a paraglider. It was here on Newgale

beach near Haverfordwest yesterday afternoon that the 42-year-old was

enjoying his new hobby. But he got in to trouble on the rocks of the

beach. The father of two was flown by RAF rescue helicopter to

Withybush Hospital nearby, where he later died. His friend and fellow

paraglider Nick Bamber says his death is a huge loss. The whole

paragliding community is still reeling with the shock of the awful

tragedy, to be almost. He was an absolutely fantastic dive. He was

cared for by the paragliding community. He was a very outdoors

the guy, an adventurous guy. Police say they've spoken to Mr John's

family, and are now appealing for anyone who saw the accident to get

in touch. The Ffos Las racecourse near

Trimsaran in Carmarthenshire is facing an uncertain future because

of planned changes to next year's fixtures list. That's the warning

tonight for its bosses who say they could lose around 13 race meetings

next year. The British Horseracing Authority plans to cap fixtures

because of concerns over declining horse numbers.

A thousand tonnes of mussels are to be dredged from the Dee Estuary off

Flintshire to save the local cockle population. A mussel colony has

invaded a sandbank there and there are fears it could damage the

livelihood of local fishermen. Environment Agency Wales says

mussels can smother cockles, eventually killing them. These have

accumulated over the last couple of years, and, unfortunately, the

mussels and cockles don't get along together, so what we are hoping to

do is remove some of those muscles to give to -- to give the cockles a

chance to thrive and increase. Paralympic Champion Simon

Richardson, who was injured in a road accident nearly 2 weeks ago,

has been brought out of sedation and is breathing without a

ventilator. He's been communicating with his wife Amanda by raising his

eyebrows and blinking. He remains in a critical but stable condition.

at home to Kidderminster. Dai Greene says he's in a confident

mood as he prepares for tomorrow's semi final of the 400 metre hurdles

at the World Championships in South Korea. Greene finished join fastest

in his heat this morning. And Brett Morse has also qualified

for tomorrow's discus final. The 22-year-old from Cardiff just

managed to secure his spot as the last qualifier in 12th place.

Cricket, and in their 40 overs match, Glamorgan won the toss and

put the Unicorns in to bat. They reached 192 runs in their 40 overs.

In reply, Glamorgan had reached 132-2 after 28 overs.

A mixed Bank Holiday for many of us It is looking quiet, but it is not

straightforward. This evening, some clear spells developing, especially

the further inland you off. A bit more cloud remaining the further

North you are. Just a few coastal showers, they are isolated. The

majority of us getting away with a dry night. Some mist forming on the

coast. The winds ease overnight. The pressure chart shows an area of

high pressure sitting comfortably over the UK, but there is a lot of

cloud -- cloud trapped in it. It should be a fairly dry few days.

They should be some of his sunny spells tomorrow morning. It will

start to cloud overthrew the day, and there will be a few coastal

showers in the North but for the majority of us, it will stay dry

but tomorrow. Highs of 18, cloudy, with some sunny spells developing.

The winds lighter than today, so it should feel warmer as we go through

the day. Tomorrow evening, it is looking quiet, with more cloud, and

we will see some mist forming in the earlier hours of Wednesday

morning, staying largely dry with the odd isolated shower.

Temperatures holding up at about nine-12. On Wednesday, the winds --

the sunshine will come through, and staying dry. It is starting to feel

warmer towards the end the week. Staying settled this week, but into
