Welcome to Wales Today. Our top story: Patients' frozen sperm | :00:07. | :00:17.
:00:17. | :00:27. | ||
samples accidentally destroyed. Our other headlines tonight: Could | :00:27. | :00:33.
St Athan land BA's new maintenance depot, just as the RAF departs? | :00:33. | :00:36.
900 miles of track, and 200 stations. All change on our | :00:36. | :00:42.
railways. Our disappearing coastline. Why | :00:42. | :00:47.
flooding and coastal erosion need a national response. | :00:47. | :00:51.
And, after speculation of a move to England, Shaun Edwards commits to | :00:51. | :01:00.
Wales for the next four years. I think we have a team of back-up | :01:00. | :01:04.
coaching staff, and with these extraordinary players, we are so | :01:04. | :01:11.
excited, Wales can feel pretty good about itself at the moment. Good | :01:11. | :01:15.
evening. An NHS fertility clinic has been accused of a series of | :01:15. | :01:17.
failures, after frozen donor samples were mistakenly destroyed, | :01:17. | :01:21.
and others were used without proper screening. The head of IVF Wales in | :01:21. | :01:23.
Cardiff resigned earlier this year, but concerns remain over staffing | :01:24. | :01:27.
levels, and a drop in success rate at the clinic. More from our health | :01:27. | :01:34.
correspondent, Hywel Griffith. It's a place which has brought hope | :01:34. | :01:37.
to thousands of couples. But IVF Wales' reputation has been | :01:37. | :01:40.
shattered by an inspection report detailing basic mistakes which | :01:40. | :01:47.
break the strict guidelines on fertility treatment. In one | :01:47. | :01:50.
incident, sperm samples were found unlabelled at the bottom of a | :01:50. | :01:55.
container flask, and destroyed without a witness. Managers say the | :01:55. | :01:58.
three patients involved have other samples, but they've not been | :01:58. | :02:03.
informed. In a second incident, the report describes how sperm samples | :02:03. | :02:08.
were released for use early without proper screening tests. | :02:08. | :02:12.
Disciplinary action and resignations followed. But tonight, | :02:12. | :02:21.
there's a call for more answers. Bearing in mind the litany of | :02:21. | :02:24.
failures from this report, bearing in mind the head of the unit has | :02:24. | :02:29.
resigned, the head of Embryology has resigned, two people have been | :02:29. | :02:35.
suspended, the dotty has come in and severely restricted the | :02:35. | :02:40.
capacity -- d o Authority has cumin and severely restricted the | :02:40. | :02:46.
capacity of IBF Wales to offer infertility services. That includes | :02:46. | :02:49.
whether or not the Welsh Government was told of the problems. They've | :02:49. | :02:55.
said they want NHS management to take urgent action. | :02:55. | :03:01.
I believe we have strengthened our arrangements, such that we are, now | :03:01. | :03:07.
performing a safe service. I think we have improved our service, and | :03:07. | :03:12.
think there were always things to learn. Our licence was not taken | :03:12. | :03:16.
away but we have been instructed we could do better. I believe we are | :03:16. | :03:21.
now doing better and we are doing things safely to ensure that | :03:21. | :03:24.
patients get the best possible service. Despite the assurances, | :03:24. | :03:27.
tonight there are calls for an inquiry into mistakes at IVF Wales, | :03:27. | :03:30.
and whether more could have been done to prevent them. | :03:30. | :03:33.
This is a centre with a great reputation. Has that now been | :03:34. | :03:41.
tarnished? They have had problems before, well-publicised, but | :03:41. | :03:45.
nothing on this scale because nothing had previously led to the | :03:45. | :03:48.
head of centre resigning, and disciplinary action against staff. | :03:48. | :03:54.
Also, they have had to drastically change the number of patients they | :03:54. | :03:59.
are treating, cutting back. Instead of 12 cycles a week, now they can | :03:59. | :04:04.
only do six. They are not taking on any new private patients and | :04:04. | :04:09.
limited the number of NHS patients. Equally worrying, when you look at | :04:09. | :04:15.
this report, not just those incidences, but concerns about the | :04:15. | :04:19.
drop in the success rate, and the staffing levels. What's the | :04:19. | :04:28.
political fall out? We have heard for Racal for an inquiry into these | :04:28. | :04:33.
blunders to be investigated fully, not just the mistakes, but who knew. | :04:33. | :04:38.
We will wait to see what the Health Minister does about that. | :04:38. | :04:41.
anyone watching who might be undergoing IVF, what should they | :04:41. | :04:48.
take from this? It is important to stress the majority of treatments | :04:48. | :04:54.
take place safely, and in this case, the centre says it has responded to | :04:54. | :04:58.
concerns. Anyone treated at this clinic who feels they may have been | :04:58. | :05:03.
affected is advised to contact them to get more advice. | :05:03. | :05:06.
A 50-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of | :05:06. | :05:10.
his wife seven years ago. John Clifton Davies, from Milton Keynes, | :05:10. | :05:13.
has also been charged with fraud. Colette Davies, from Bridgend, fell | :05:13. | :05:17.
80 feet near a river bridge while on honeymoon in the north of India | :05:17. | :05:27.
:05:27. | :05:29. | ||
in 2004. The Welsh government has revealed | :05:29. | :05:33.
in expectancy expects to spend three but 4 billion put in | :05:33. | :05:37.
students through university over the next six years. That includes | :05:37. | :05:42.
1 billion for the tuition fee Grant. Opposition parties have | :05:42. | :05:45.
raised questions about whether it is affordable and the government | :05:45. | :05:51.
has admitted those figures could change. The figure that we will | :05:51. | :05:55.
eventually end up paying will depend on the number of Welsh | :05:55. | :06:05.
:06:05. | :06:06. | ||
students who applied to go to university. It is a very difficult | :06:06. | :06:10.
figure to estimate. We are committed to funding this policy | :06:10. | :06:14.
for the lifetime of this Assembly. A 47-year-old man has died while | :06:14. | :06:17.
walking on Cader Idris in Gwynedd at the weekend. Christopher Currie, | :06:18. | :06:21.
from Southampton, is thought to have fallen around 400 feet. He was | :06:21. | :06:24.
reported missing on Saturday. His body was found the next day, after | :06:24. | :06:29.
an all-night search by mountain rescue teams. | :06:29. | :06:31.
British Airways is considering expanding its maintenance operation | :06:31. | :06:37.
in Wales. St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan is one of a number of | :06:37. | :06:41.
options the airline is looking at, as it prepares to cope with more | :06:41. | :06:50.
work next year. British Airways already has a big | :06:50. | :06:54.
presence in Wales. It employs more than 1000 people at its maintenance | :06:54. | :06:58.
base at Cardiff Airport. Due to wear heavy workload, it needs more | :06:58. | :07:03.
capacity and it says one possible location is St Athan, the military | :07:04. | :07:10.
base four miles away. It would be a boost to St Athan, thousands of RAF | :07:10. | :07:16.
engineers used to work here. Now much of this site lies empty. | :07:16. | :07:21.
see British Airways landing here would be a magnet to draw other | :07:21. | :07:26.
companies who would want to know, what a British Airways doing here? | :07:26. | :07:31.
Maybe we could get an interiors contract and build the site up back | :07:31. | :07:36.
to the numbers it was in its heyday. No final decision has been taken by | :07:36. | :07:40.
British Airways but there are obvious attractions. St Athan has a | :07:40. | :07:46.
long runway and an existing pool of aircraft engineers in the area. We | :07:46. | :07:49.
understand negotiations are at a critical stage but behind the | :07:49. | :07:53.
scenes, there will be high hopes for British Airways to have a | :07:53. | :07:58.
presence here. The Welsh government has made St Athan one of its new | :07:58. | :08:03.
enterprise zones with a specific intention to attract investment | :08:03. | :08:08.
into radiation. In recent years, much has been promised at St Athan, | :08:08. | :08:13.
first came the ambitious red dragon Super Hannah. His fate was sealed | :08:13. | :08:20.
when the MoD transferred the work done by St Athan to another base. | :08:20. | :08:25.
The Hana still lies empty. Then came the drawn up plans to build a | :08:25. | :08:30.
military training academy which was scrapped last year. These | :08:30. | :08:33.
aeroplanes are the last of the RAF aircraft to be repaired here. In | :08:34. | :08:39.
February, all that work will go. British Airways would offer a new | :08:39. | :08:44.
direction. There are opportunities coming forward and I think being so | :08:44. | :08:48.
close to St Athan puts them in a strong place. Let's not run before | :08:48. | :08:53.
we can walk, let us ensure we have our feet on the ground and we are | :08:53. | :08:58.
keeping this well within manageable opportunities. The future is not | :08:58. | :09:02.
clear for St Athan but this development would mean jobs are | :09:02. | :09:06.
generated and aircraft continue to fly in and out of this famous old | :09:06. | :09:10.
RAF base. How's this for a huge train set? | :09:10. | :09:18.
200 stations, 900 miles of track, and a budget of 200 million. The | :09:18. | :09:22.
railways of Wales used to be run by Network Rail from England. Tonight, | :09:22. | :09:26.
it's all change. The service is to be devolved and run from Wales. The | :09:26. | :09:35.
new man at the top is Mark Langman. Good evening. What difference will | :09:35. | :09:42.
I notice as a passenger? It is worth putting this into context, | :09:42. | :09:47.
this is the first time in 100 and ended five years of railway history | :09:47. | :09:53.
that the railway in Wales has actually been controlled from here | :09:53. | :09:59.
in Wales and decisions will be made from here in Wales. There is a lot | :09:59. | :10:04.
going on it the moment. We have spent 200 million a year just on | :10:04. | :10:09.
maintaining and operating and renewing the railway. What is | :10:09. | :10:13.
happening is the amount of money we are investing to improve capacity. | :10:13. | :10:18.
One scheme we are launching is a 200 billion additional spend to | :10:18. | :10:21.
upgrade railways around Cardiff. Given that funding for railways | :10:21. | :10:29.
isn't devolved, what impact in reality will this have? | :10:29. | :10:34.
What is being devolved is the Budget to me in Wales. For the | :10:34. | :10:39.
first time rather than people in Swindon or London or Manchester, | :10:39. | :10:44.
those decisions will be made here and I have the budget. What are | :10:44. | :10:50.
your priorities? Growing the railway, I want to talk to | :10:50. | :10:54.
stakeholders, work closely with customers and train operators, and | :10:54. | :10:59.
the Welsh government, to look for more opportunities because I | :10:59. | :11:04.
believe this is part of a vibrant economy for Wales. Passenger | :11:04. | :11:08.
numbers are increasing, realistically, can you grow that | :11:08. | :11:14.
any more? The you are right, we have seen more passengers | :11:14. | :11:18.
travelling that at any other time in railway history. The scheme I | :11:19. | :11:22.
have talked about is an example where we are growing too fast D, | :11:22. | :11:27.
where we can move more passengers and freight through Cardiff by | :11:27. | :11:32.
building new platforms and improving signals. How will we know | :11:32. | :11:37.
if you have been a success, how should we measure it? What I would | :11:37. | :11:43.
like to see his a wise decision around how we fund and what we | :11:43. | :11:47.
spend our money on. That should enable us to be more efficient by | :11:47. | :11:52.
working closely with our customers and the Welsh government, and to | :11:52. | :11:57.
invest money and save money for the taxpayer. Much more to come before | :11:57. | :12:00.
7pm. All of tonight's sport, including Wales' defence coach | :12:00. | :12:04.
Shaun Edwards signs up until the next World Cup. | :12:04. | :12:08.
And we're at Erddig Hall near Wrexham, as one of the National | :12:08. | :12:17.
Trust's finest country houses gets Floods, coastal erosion. The | :12:17. | :12:20.
country is under attack throughout the year. Now the Welsh Government | :12:20. | :12:23.
says it wants those threats managed better by the agencies involved. A | :12:24. | :12:28.
national all-Wales strategy has been drawn up for the first time. | :12:28. | :12:36.
Here's Roger Pinney. This time nature was kind but it | :12:37. | :12:41.
was closed. No one was hurt when this cliff collapsed a couple of | :12:41. | :12:49.
weeks ago. We cannot always rely on Lady Luck. In the teeth of a gale, | :12:49. | :12:53.
high tide here came just before lunch time. This is how we reported | :12:53. | :13:00.
the coastal flooding which hit last year. And the damage caused. | :13:00. | :13:05.
couldn't get through the garden. I came down half-an-hour later. There | :13:05. | :13:11.
was no warning. It was gone like that, everything is gone. Here, | :13:11. | :13:16.
flooding events are mercifully rare, but if climate change predictions | :13:16. | :13:20.
are accurate and sea levels rise, they may become more frequent. | :13:20. | :13:27.
Already in Wales, one in six properties is at risk from flooding. | :13:27. | :13:31.
Coastal protection work under way near Aberystwyth, a good place to | :13:31. | :13:35.
launch the new strategy. Investment will be directed towards areas most | :13:35. | :13:39.
at risk. There is a message while some money is available for | :13:39. | :13:43.
infrastructure, agencies and councils do need to come together | :13:43. | :13:49.
to manage the risk. It is never going to be enough, to build all of | :13:49. | :13:53.
the Defence's right around Wales. That would really be necessary. It | :13:53. | :13:57.
is very much about being smarter and more intelligent in our | :13:57. | :14:01.
approach and working with communities, and businesses. Back | :14:01. | :14:07.
here, they are our message. Small scale construction work is on hand | :14:07. | :14:13.
to contain floodwaters. Some have started putting up planks of wood | :14:13. | :14:16.
against the gateposts to stop the water coming into the gardens. | :14:17. | :14:22.
Other changes have already happened. Robert Williams is one of the local | :14:22. | :14:26.
flood wardens appointed in the last year to write a link between | :14:26. | :14:32.
residents and authorities. A Yaya Toure -- two way flow of | :14:32. | :14:38.
information. The plan is we can cause an it better and make plans | :14:38. | :14:42.
and I think it will happen. This time with better co-ordination of | :14:42. | :14:49.
all concerned, the council, of residents, we can prevent any | :14:49. | :14:54.
damage to properties. It is all about recognising the risks and | :14:54. | :15:03.
planning for it. Nature can be the New legislation is needed to force | :15:04. | :15:10.
public authorities to investigate cases of elder abuse. Age Cymru say | :15:10. | :15:13.
around 39,000 older people have suffered some form of abuse in | :15:13. | :15:16.
their home. The boss government says it is committed to protecting | :15:16. | :15:21.
older people. We are concerned that particularly | :15:21. | :15:25.
at a time of financial pressers, we know some cases will drop off the | :15:26. | :15:29.
radar and will not be investigated quickly -- pressures. That is | :15:29. | :15:34.
dangerous because people might do to you on -- suffer ongoing abuse. | :15:34. | :15:38.
We want to make it clear and to make people batterer involved in | :15:38. | :15:41.
adult protection, to give them stronger powers to make other | :15:41. | :15:44.
people sit around the table, investigate the case and put in a | :15:44. | :15:47.
suitable course of action to stop abuse happening. | :15:47. | :15:50.
The Welsh Government must make major changes to its draft budget | :15:50. | :15:55.
if it is to win support from any of the opposition parties, that is the | :15:55. | :15:58.
warning tonight from party leaders ahead of tomorrow's big vote on | :15:58. | :16:03.
spending plans. However the finance minister Jane Hutt says she is hope | :16:03. | :16:12.
for the stalemate can be solved. Betsan Powys. Remind us what is | :16:12. | :16:15.
happening tomorrow. Tomorrow, Assembly Members will be | :16:15. | :16:18.
here discussing the Government's spending plans and boating on the | :16:18. | :16:23.
draft budget, a first step vote, if you like -- voting. Remember Carwyn | :16:23. | :16:27.
Jones doesn't have a majority so if everybody turns up tomorrow and | :16:27. | :16:31.
presses the right buttons in the chamber there will be stalemate. | :16:31. | :16:36.
The government motion will fall. What happens then? Tops -- talks | :16:36. | :16:40.
described as ongoing will surely get going I suppose. The opposition | :16:40. | :16:44.
parties were here today all saying, look, minor changes would do it, | :16:44. | :16:49.
that won't gain our support, -- won't do it. One put it as they | :16:49. | :16:54.
have to have radical surgery before they will support it. The | :16:54. | :16:56.
government suggests they are not clear what the opposition parties | :16:57. | :17:01.
want. Plaid Cymru are saying they have sent a letter to the First | :17:01. | :17:05.
Minister's of the spelling out what they want. Whatever happens | :17:05. | :17:08.
tomorrow the government are emphasising talks are ongoing and | :17:08. | :17:13.
no panic button is being pushed jet. Carwyn Jones is spelling out his | :17:13. | :17:17.
views on further devolution tonight yes. | :17:17. | :17:20.
He is given a speech in Aberystwyth and looking to the future, if you | :17:20. | :17:25.
like -- giving a speech. What would happen if Scotland votes for | :17:25. | :17:28.
independence and takes full responsibility for its finances? He | :17:28. | :17:32.
says then Wales's constitutional relationships with the UK would | :17:32. | :17:36.
require radical reconsideration, that word again. Perhaps a more | :17:36. | :17:40.
generous transfer of legislative powers. He we have a Labour First | :17:40. | :17:43.
Minister saying that if the Scottish First Minister changes the | :17:43. | :17:48.
rules of the game, he would regard that as a game changer or in Wales | :17:48. | :17:51.
as well. We will talk tomorrow night. Thank | :17:51. | :17:56.
you. Now with news of the sport, here is Ashleigh Crowter. | :17:56. | :18:00.
Good evening. There are reasons to be cheerful for Welsh rugby fans | :18:00. | :18:04.
tonight. Shaun Edwards will sign a new contract tomorrow to workers | :18:04. | :18:09.
depends coach for the national team until the next World Cup. There had | :18:09. | :18:13.
been competition for his services - - defence coach. The four Welsh | :18:13. | :18:18.
regions all won in Europe, for the first time in five years. | :18:18. | :18:21.
He has been a key man behind the scenes for Wales helping them to | :18:21. | :18:24.
4th place in the recent Rugby World Cup, and now Shaun Edwards has | :18:24. | :18:29.
recommitted himself to the cause until 2015. His commitments with | :18:29. | :18:32.
the Welsh Rugby Union will grow, and he will work with the National | :18:32. | :18:36.
Academy and age grade teams but also maintain involvement with an | :18:36. | :18:40.
English Premiership club, possibly Leicester, away from the | :18:40. | :18:43.
international games. His decision means Warren Gatland will have one | :18:43. | :18:47.
of his chief lieutenants in place as the side try to build on their | :18:47. | :18:56.
performances in New Zealand. It is an exciting passage -- package. | :18:56. | :19:01.
Strategically for us, he is working with a national academy, and the | :19:01. | :19:05.
Twenties, and 18 sunder the sixteens as we prepare for the next | :19:05. | :19:08.
Rugby World Cup. The was a sweetness about the | :19:08. | :19:11.
results in the first weekend of the Heineken Cup as well, three wins | :19:12. | :19:15.
against French sides helping to brought -- blow away the Rugby | :19:15. | :19:19.
World Cup hangover. The Blues started on Friday night with an | :19:19. | :19:24.
excellent 26-20 victory in Paris, when Alex Cuthbert with a crucial | :19:24. | :19:28.
try that secured a rare away win on French soil. The Ospreys and | :19:28. | :19:32.
Scarlets followed that up on Saturday, Tommy Bowe scoring the | :19:32. | :19:38.
Ospreys's only tide against Biarritz at the Liberty Stadium. A | :19:38. | :19:43.
perfect kicking performance helped them to an opening weekend win 28- | :19:43. | :19:46.
21. But the most eye-catching performance came from the Scarlets, | :19:46. | :19:50.
who scored three tries, including this length-of-the-field effort | :19:50. | :19:57.
from No. 8 Ben Morgan, to win 31-23. It is all about winning, and | :19:57. | :20:01.
winning your first game, OK, the Scarlets and the Ospreys had to win | :20:01. | :20:05.
because they were home games, the Blues game away was fantastic, and | :20:05. | :20:10.
the dragon's, going into the end zone but getting a good result. | :20:10. | :20:16.
They secured a bonus point scoring five tries in a 33-3 win against | :20:16. | :20:20.
Italian club Cavalieri plateau in the Amlin Cup, wrapping up perfect | :20:20. | :20:24.
weekend for the Welsh regions. Let's move on to football and Wales | :20:25. | :20:28.
manager Gary Speed Saiz his side's rapid improvement has exceeded all | :20:28. | :20:31.
his expectations. He is now turning his attention to next week's World | :20:31. | :20:38.
Cup fixture meeting, happy in the knowledge his team started off 2011 | :20:38. | :20:43.
with another win. It is now three in a row. The manager will now | :20:43. | :20:47.
focus on the logistics of the Campaign for Brazil 2014 and he is | :20:47. | :20:51.
receiving plenty of praise for the turnaround in his side's fortunes. | :20:51. | :20:55.
Gary has looked at his players and their strengths, and then put the | :20:56. | :21:00.
style and pattern in place, and the system they would buy into. That is | :21:00. | :21:04.
the situation at the moment. In the past, we were always known as a | :21:05. | :21:07.
potential team with abilities but getting the best out of that was | :21:07. | :21:12.
the problem. Now we have stars in their, of course, but we are | :21:12. | :21:17.
actually playing as a team, which is important, scoring four pass | :21:17. | :21:21.
Norway was no mean feat. In rugby league captain Lee Briers | :21:21. | :21:24.
bowed out of Test rugby in his final appearance for Wales against | :21:24. | :21:29.
Australia in the Four Nations. He helped set up two tries as Wales | :21:29. | :21:33.
gave the Kangaroos an early scare, taking the lead before half-time in | :21:33. | :21:36.
Wrexham. Australia are already assured of a place in next | :21:36. | :21:39.
Saturday's final against England and finally came to live scoring 10 | :21:39. | :21:44.
tries of their own. It ended 56-14 to the Aussies. | :21:44. | :21:50.
Finland posse -- Finland's to Jari- Matti Latvala at one the Wales | :21:50. | :21:53.
Rally GB this weekend, finishing almost four minutes ahead of his | :21:53. | :21:58.
rival. Sebastian Loeb was earlier ground world champion despite | :21:58. | :22:01.
exceeding the rally after crashing into a Spectator's car between | :22:01. | :22:05.
stages. Following speculation about the future of the event, the Welsh | :22:05. | :22:08.
Government says it will invest just under one-and-a-half million pounds | :22:08. | :22:12.
and the Rally next year, and if you missed any of the 2011 event, there | :22:12. | :22:17.
are highlights tonight at 11:20pm on BBC Two Wales. | :22:17. | :22:21.
Medal prospect Andrew Selby has secured his place at next year's | :22:21. | :22:25.
Olympic Games. The 22 year old flyweight from barley came through | :22:25. | :22:29.
a box off at the British Amateur Championships at the weekend -- | :22:29. | :22:32.
from Bally. He beat opponent Khalid Yafai in the first bout and was | :22:32. | :22:35.
automatically put through as his opponent failed to make the weight | :22:35. | :22:38.
for the second. Talking of the Olympics, Helen | :22:38. | :22:42.
Jenkins has been named British Olympic triathlete of the year | :22:42. | :22:45.
following a season in which she was crowned world champion a second | :22:45. | :22:50.
time. Definitely one to watch in London next year. Jamie. | :22:50. | :22:55.
Thank you. How do you empty bedroom full of priceless 18th century | :22:55. | :22:59.
furniture to give a facelift to the room? The answer, carefully. That's | :22:59. | :23:03.
what experts are doing at the National Trust's Erddig Hall in | :23:03. | :23:07.
Wrexham as they replace the grass - - glass walls which have kept the | :23:07. | :23:10.
State Bedroom protected since the 1970s. Before the new walls are | :23:10. | :23:15.
fitted, the furniture is being lovingly restored. | :23:15. | :23:21.
You cannot help holding your breath. These can suck -- conservators are | :23:21. | :23:26.
moving fragile furniture which hasn't been accessible for about 40 | :23:26. | :23:31.
years, because Erddig's State Bedroom is so special it was housed | :23:31. | :23:33.
in a glass box present -- preventing visitors from altering | :23:33. | :23:37.
the delicate humility -- humidity levels which could destroy the | :23:37. | :23:40.
fabric of the bed. We are told that is the best bed of | :23:40. | :23:45.
its type in the country, attests to bed, which means it doesn't have | :23:45. | :23:51.
four posts in each corner, which many beds will have, two on the | :23:51. | :23:54.
back and the headboard, and a canopy or Tester suspended from the | :23:54. | :23:58.
ceiling by chains. It is quite a special bed because it was made in | :23:58. | :24:04.
London in the 70 twenties, but hangings on it are from China -- 17 | :24:04. | :24:07.
twenties. It is very colourful and would have been spectacular when it | :24:07. | :24:09.
was new. The three-metre high glass panels | :24:09. | :24:13.
have been removed and before the new ones come in antiquities | :24:13. | :24:18.
experts are taking the opportunity to restore cabinet side mirrors. | :24:18. | :24:21.
Reproduction wallpaper will also be added to the ceiling as well as the | :24:21. | :24:24.
lighting all around. The new glass box ways more than a ton and | :24:24. | :24:28.
requires six people to carry it through large sections of the House, | :24:28. | :24:31.
so as well as reinforcing the floor beneath the bedroom, the staircase | :24:31. | :24:34.
has been padded to protect it from vox and scrapes. | :24:34. | :24:38.
The York family ancestors are looking on anxiously as the renewal | :24:38. | :24:42.
teams go to work. These pictures are irreplaceable. | :24:42. | :24:45.
It is difficult to put a price on some of these things because they | :24:45. | :24:49.
are unique to the property and they have been commissioned by the | :24:49. | :24:51.
owners specially in a certain design which has not been | :24:52. | :24:57.
recognised anywhere else. It is an incredible hairy operation and we | :24:57. | :25:00.
are watching on tenterhooks as these things progress. | :25:00. | :25:04.
The renovation should take another two-three months and the state | :25:04. | :25:08.
bedroom may soon look as elegant and pristine as it did 300 years | :25:08. | :25:10.
ago. Time for another national | :25:10. | :25:19.
institution in need of them Yesterday was mild, warm in the | :25:19. | :25:24.
north-west and in the Botanic Garden at the Bangor at university, | :25:24. | :25:28.
the temperature reached 64 Fahrenheit, not quite a record but | :25:28. | :25:32.
one of the highest recorded in November for 25 years. The mild | :25:32. | :25:39.
weather of his confusing plants and flowers. This photo was sentient of | :25:39. | :25:43.
a daffodil flowering in this lady's garden. It felt cooler with more | :25:43. | :25:49.
cloud covering most of Wales. Bangor reached 12 but a digger | :25:49. | :25:52.
could only manage a chilly seven. Tonight cloudy for most of us, | :25:52. | :25:56.
damping places with drizzle and hill fog, otherwise dry, lowest | :25:56. | :26:01.
temperatures around seven, so no frost tonight as well. Tomorrow a | :26:01. | :26:06.
grey, cloudy start for most of Wales, I wouldn't roll-out drizzle | :26:06. | :26:10.
in parts of Wrexham and month show, and will fog. Dry in the west and | :26:10. | :26:15.
north-west, and here they should be breaks in the cloud in Aberystwyth, | :26:15. | :26:19.
temperatures nine Celsius in the north. Tomorrow most of the country | :26:19. | :26:22.
dry and more of the country should slowly brighten up, the best | :26:22. | :26:26.
sunshine in parts of the west and north-west, more cloud, though, for | :26:26. | :26:31.
Palace and the border. Top temperatures 10-12 -- Celsius, | :26:31. | :26:36.
Chile's where it stays cloudy with an easterly breeze. The best | :26:36. | :26:40.
sunshine in Ceredigion tomorrow, temperatures in Lampeter up to 12. | :26:40. | :26:44.
More dry weather tomorrow but a friend made bringing rain to | :26:44. | :26:48.
Pembrokeshire in the afternoon. Beyond that, Thursday brighter with | :26:48. | :26:52.
a few showers, some uncertainty about Friday, a little rain | :26:52. | :26:56.
especially in the West, but most of the country may end up dry and | :26:56. | :26:59.
still mild on Friday with southerly still mild on Friday with southerly | :26:59. | :27:00.
still mild on Friday with southerly winds. | :27:00. | :27:06.
It is coming up to 7pm, the headlines again. The full scale of | :27:06. | :27:09.
the Hacking's gamble has been revealed by new inquiry into press | :27:09. | :27:13.
standards. Dozens of journalists were involved and hundreds of moist | :27:13. | :27:16.
-- was mails intercepted and the News of the world may not have been | :27:16. | :27:20.
alone. An NHS fertility clinic has been | :27:20. | :27:24.
accused of a series of failures after frozen donor samples were | :27:24. | :27:28.
mistakenly destroyed, and others were used without proper screening. | :27:28. | :27:33.
IVF Wales has apologised. X-Ray is on in half an hour, with a | :27:33. | :27:38.

company Mr Windows went bust owing thousands so why are they back in | :27:43. | :27:46.
