Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's headlines. | :00:02. | :00:05.
Aiming for sweet success but claims businesses cannot get the help they | :00:05. | :00:15.
:00:15. | :00:15. | ||
need from banks. Now a review to see if they are lending enough. | :00:15. | :00:19.
There is a lot of talk about borrowing. It is definitely not | :00:19. | :00:29.
:00:29. | :00:33. | ||
Also tonight. A court is told of the sheer | :00:33. | :00:38.
stupidity of a man who drove his 4x4 to the summit of Snowdon, twice. | :00:38. | :00:41.
The construction industry in decline. A warning 30,000 workers | :00:41. | :00:51.
will have lost their jobs in 10 years. There are not many glimmers | :00:51. | :00:57.
of hope. Profit will probably a non-existent word in the industry. | :00:58. | :01:01.
Singing to stop the cuts. One of our greatest composers fears they | :01:01. | :01:05.
could make music tuition the preserve of the rich. | :01:05. | :01:15.
:01:15. | :01:17. | ||
In tonight's sport. Can Swansea City do it again at the | :01:17. | :01:27.
:01:27. | :01:35. | ||
Emirates, but this time knock There are concerns this evening | :01:35. | :01:42.
that banks are not lending enough. A review is being set-up to look at | :01:42. | :01:45.
whether banks are lending as much as they should to Welsh companies. | :01:45. | :01:48.
Business Minister Edwina Hart says firms are telling her the money is | :01:48. | :01:51.
not coming through. There has been pressure on banks to support | :01:51. | :02:00.
companies to help the economy grow. Chocolates being made in Denbigh. A | :02:00. | :02:06.
string of other shops like this could have opened across Software's | :02:06. | :02:16.
:02:16. | :02:17. | ||
had the owner realised his dream. The message from the bank was clear. | :02:17. | :02:24.
The answer was No. There was no real business relationship with | :02:25. | :02:32.
them. You just do not think about asking them any more. Many others | :02:32. | :02:36.
seem to have similar opinions. They say the banks are reluctant to help | :02:36. | :02:46.
:02:46. | :02:46. | ||
them grow. They are happy that we are running schemes. The reality is | :02:46. | :02:54.
it is hard because there are not getting the money they require. | :02:54. | :02:56.
Last August the Bank of England and Chancellor came together to launch | :02:57. | :03:03.
a scheme to ease up cash for firms to expand. The aim was to increase | :03:03. | :03:08.
banks' loans by a roughly 60 billion. The British Bankers | :03:08. | :03:15.
Association says it welcomes the initiative by Edwina Hart and we do | :03:15. | :03:18.
all it can to help. It also points out that eight out of 10 | :03:18. | :03:27.
applications by businesses for loans from the banks are granted. | :03:27. | :03:29.
Many smaller businesses are not applying because they think they | :03:29. | :03:36.
were not get one. The answer has always been no so we do not bother | :03:36. | :03:44.
now. Experiences like this will be fed into the research to highlight | :03:44. | :03:53.
any barriers. Certain banks have blacklisted certain sectors. | :03:53. | :03:59.
Tourism makes up 10% of the Welsh economy. If we see less money going | :03:59. | :04:02.
into the tourism sector then businesses will be at a | :04:02. | :04:11.
disadvantage. These chocolates may not seem to be at the heart of the | :04:11. | :04:15.
economy of Wales but it is about the issue of whether banks are | :04:15. | :04:18.
holding many bank. I'm joined now by Jonathan Good | :04:18. | :04:21.
from Barclays, one of the biggest lenders in Wales. We heard Mark | :04:21. | :04:24.
Young in Sarah's report saying that he and many others wouldn't even go | :04:24. | :04:28.
to a bank to try and get a loan because they feel there's no chance | :04:28. | :04:37.
of getting one. What do you think when you hear that? Our bank | :04:37. | :04:45.
realised there is a lack of confidence. We have seen a 25% | :04:45. | :04:51.
decrease in applications from pre- recession days. There is an issue | :04:51. | :04:57.
of the lack of demand and confidence in the economy. A we do | :04:57. | :05:03.
want to loan the money. The mentioned the guarantee schemes. We | :05:03. | :05:13.
:05:13. | :05:15. | ||
have been involved in the funding for lending scheme. We have been | :05:15. | :05:20.
part of other government schemes as well. We have been part -- involved | :05:20. | :05:26.
with the Welsh government scheme for investment. That has been a | :05:26. | :05:32.
used to support small, medium and micro businesses across the country. | :05:32. | :05:36.
There is definitely a perception that you have not been granting | :05:36. | :05:44.
loans? The current year lend, sanction a 80% of all our | :05:44. | :05:48.
applications. We work closely with businesses to make sure the | :05:48. | :05:52.
applications are strong. That is the key thing. We have seen a did | :05:52. | :05:56.
cent success rate with the applications we are reviewing. But | :05:56. | :06:02.
we are seeing a drop in consumer demand. What would you say to the | :06:02. | :06:06.
review? We welcomed the review. Anything that can support the Welsh | :06:06. | :06:10.
economy is good news. They will be working to help support that. If | :06:10. | :06:16.
there is anything, I would say to businesses please come and talk to | :06:16. | :06:21.
us or your local bank because banks do want to lend money. I think your | :06:22. | :06:24.
phone will be red hot tomorrow morning. | :06:24. | :06:28.
The trial of a man accused of twice driving a vehicle up Snowdon, once | :06:28. | :06:30.
to the summit itself, has gone ahead in his absence. Craig | :06:31. | :06:32.
Williams from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire denies two charges | :06:33. | :06:42.
:06:43. | :06:44. | ||
of dangerous driving. A four by four parked just 100 yards short of | :06:44. | :06:50.
the summit of Snowdon. Driving the vehicle there was an act of sheer | :06:50. | :06:55.
stupidity, the jurors were told. The Act could have had a horrendous | :06:55. | :07:00.
consequences. The court heard Craig Williams did not do it once but | :07:00. | :07:05.
twice. The second time he went to the top. The vehicle was parked | :07:05. | :07:10.
alongside the cafe. The jury was told there were a couple of | :07:10. | :07:15.
possible routes. One was along the path and the other would use part | :07:15. | :07:25.
:07:25. | :07:33. | ||
of the track of the mountain railway. Williams -- and at. Some | :07:33. | :07:39.
tyre tracks were seen along the track and some damage. Mike Roberts, | :07:39. | :07:43.
a hut and safety officer on the railway said he spoke to Craig | :07:43. | :07:47.
Williams the day the vehicle was brought down the mountain. He said | :07:47. | :07:51.
he seemed apologetic and had not realised the implications of his | :07:51. | :07:57.
actions. Craig Williams pictured here was not in court today. He | :07:57. | :08:01.
denies a couple of charges of dangerous driving. The second time | :08:01. | :08:04.
the vehicle was taken up the mountain, the jury heard, a sign | :08:04. | :08:14.
:08:14. | :08:17. | ||
was left on it. It said "I made it to the summit". The case continues. | :08:17. | :08:20.
Jobs at Wales' 28 Blockbuster stores are under threat as the DVD | :08:20. | :08:23.
rental firm becomes the latest UK High Street chain to go into | :08:23. | :08:26.
administration. It has 528 stores across the UK and employs more than | :08:26. | :08:30.
4,000 staff. Administrators say the stores will keep trading while they | :08:30. | :08:34.
try to find a buyer. Schools in the bottom two | :08:35. | :08:37.
performance bands will be offered an extra 10,000 each to help | :08:37. | :08:43.
improve standards. A total of 84 secondary schools could benefit. | :08:43. | :08:45.
Education Minister Leighton Andrews says they will have to submit | :08:45. | :08:55.
:08:55. | :08:55. | ||
action plans, with targets, before being given the extra money. | :08:55. | :08:58.
Questions have been raised about the Assembly's power to legislate | :08:58. | :09:00.
on recovering the costs of asbestos related treatment. The Association | :09:00. | :09:03.
of British Insurers told the Assembly's health committee that | :09:03. | :09:05.
the Bill's purpose was to raise revenue and was therefore outside | :09:05. | :09:08.
the competency of the Assembly. The Labour backbencher Mick Antoniw | :09:08. | :09:11.
said it was not to create a law that would enable the NHS to | :09:11. | :09:13.
recover costs of treating asbestos sufferers. | :09:13. | :09:16.
A 32-year-old man has gone on trial accused of the murder of a | :09:16. | :09:18.
vulnerable 68-year-old pensioner who was fatally stabbed in the | :09:18. | :09:21.
communal hall of the flats where he lived. Defendant William Jones is | :09:21. | :09:25.
said to be out looking for his girlfriend and a man he thought she | :09:25. | :09:28.
was with when he attacked Peter Lewis who opened his front door | :09:28. | :09:31.
last April. He has pleaded not guilty telling police he was | :09:31. | :09:38.
defending himself against a knife attack by Mr Lewis. Peter Lewis was | :09:38. | :09:42.
described as a vulnerable man with learning difficulties. He played an | :09:42. | :09:47.
active part in his community, a churchgoer and a champion for | :09:47. | :09:52.
others with learning difficulties. By contrast, the man accused of his | :09:52. | :09:57.
murder, William Jones, was said by the prosecution lawyer to be a | :09:57. | :10:03.
heroin addict who lived a chaotic life. It was April last year that | :10:03. | :10:07.
Paula worse was stabbed in the hallway of the flats by he lived in | :10:08. | :10:12.
Cardiff. Unable to move from the floor, he called for help, pressing | :10:13. | :10:19.
the button on his personal panic alarm. He told the operator a boy | :10:19. | :10:24.
came looking for someone called Dean and hit me. According to the | :10:24. | :10:29.
prosecution today, the defendant told police he was here on that | :10:29. | :10:35.
night. He was trying to buy Valium from his girlfriend with 10 he had | :10:35. | :10:40.
been given by his father. In fact, he had been out trying to find her | :10:40. | :10:44.
and a man she was with because he was jealous and planned to attack | :10:44. | :10:49.
him. The court heard in the early hours he had been out knocking | :10:49. | :10:53.
doors and ringing doorbells. He told police that when he came here | :10:53. | :10:56.
Peter Lewis had come out threatening him with a knife. He | :10:56. | :11:00.
said he grabbed it and must have stabbed him as he pushed him away. | :11:01. | :11:05.
He said he did not know the man had been injured until he saw it later | :11:05. | :11:09.
on the news. Peter Lewis was conscious when the police arrived | :11:09. | :11:14.
but died in hospital shortly after. A post-mortem examinations as the | :11:14. | :11:18.
cause of death was a stab wound to his abdomen. At Cardiff crown court | :11:18. | :11:23.
the jury was shown photographs of both men and told to compare them. | :11:23. | :11:27.
The prosecution lawyer said the idea that Peter Lewis, a God- | :11:27. | :11:31.
fearing man was armed and threatening the defendant was | :11:31. | :11:37.
ludicrous. He said it was William Jones that arrived with the knife. | :11:37. | :11:41.
When Peter Lewis challenge them, he had stabbed him deliberately. The | :11:41. | :11:47.
case continues. The true impact of the recession on | :11:47. | :11:51.
construction in Wales has been made clear in a new report. It says | :11:51. | :11:54.
there will continue to be job losses, and that the number of | :11:54. | :11:57.
workers will have shrunk by almost a quarter in the decade leading up | :11:57. | :12:01.
to 2017. But it claims there'll also be opportunities, mainly as a | :12:01. | :12:04.
result of the huge project to build a new nuclear power station on | :12:04. | :12:06.
Anglesey. Our business correspondent Nick Servini has been | :12:06. | :12:14.
looking at the findings. The finishing touches being made to a | :12:14. | :12:19.
care home in Carmarthenshire. We knew the sector had suffered. | :12:19. | :12:25.
Today's report by construction skills shows by how much. The | :12:25. | :12:30.
number of people working in the industry is expected to reach | :12:30. | :12:34.
80,000 over the next five years. That is below the pre-recession | :12:34. | :12:40.
peak. There was a 13% fall in output last year. The findings came | :12:40. | :12:47.
as no surprise to the man running this project. There are not many | :12:47. | :12:53.
glimmers of hope. A we now have to look to do a lot more for less. | :12:53. | :12:58.
Basically, look at the efficiencies of how you can run your company. | :12:58. | :13:05.
The market place is so competitive. Many in the industry says highly | :13:05. | :13:11.
competitive tendering are pushing prices down. The company behind | :13:11. | :13:15.
this care home have a thinnest a number of large projects. The work | :13:15. | :13:23.
in the pipeline is on a smaller scale. It had to let go around half | :13:23. | :13:27.
a dozen workers before Christmas. The challenge will be retaining the | :13:27. | :13:32.
rest of the workers over the next year. Any hope for is for | :13:32. | :13:35.
significant growth in Wales has been pinned on a new nuclear power | :13:35. | :13:41.
station which is planned on a site next to the existing Wylfa plant on | :13:41. | :13:45.
Anglesey. The report expects people to start feeling more confident in | :13:45. | :13:52.
their jobs, driving up rates by private sector housing. But it will | :13:52. | :13:56.
be another few years before these and other schemes taking. Until | :13:56. | :14:02.
then, the industry will face pressures. It has been called a | :14:02. | :14:05.
perfect stone. Last year we had a reduction in public expenditure | :14:06. | :14:12.
funding and also a lack of confidence in the private sector. | :14:12. | :14:16.
That is less money and ability to spend. Construction has suffered | :14:16. | :14:20.
more than most in recent years. Industry experts believe it still | :14:20. | :14:26.
Still to come tonight. Not everyone who wants to watch Wales Today is | :14:26. | :14:34.
able to. Winter is going to tighten its grip. Heavy snow and disruption | :14:34. | :14:36.
expected on Friday but not everywhere. Some places will have | :14:36. | :14:46.
One of the country's were celebrated composers, Karl Jenkins, | :14:46. | :14:49.
has criticised proposals by Newport Council to cut 40% of its music | :14:49. | :14:55.
budget. Newport is the latest authority to look at reducing its | :14:55. | :14:59.
service. But Karl Jenkins says any more cuts will permanently damaged | :14:59. | :15:09.
:15:09. | :15:13. | ||
the cultural well-being of Wales. They have played all over the world | :15:13. | :15:17.
but this may be their most important concern yet. An alfresco | :15:17. | :15:21.
performance for Newport councillors during their lunch hour. These | :15:21. | :15:25.
young was Titian's at current and former members of the Gwent music | :15:25. | :15:31.
support service and they're here to protest at the proposed 200,000 | :15:31. | :15:35.
budget cut. My friend asked to go on to music college and comes here. | :15:35. | :15:41.
I am not sure if we will be able to afford it. It might stop her | :15:41. | :15:50.
education. They on sad because we need lessons. That concerns one of | :15:50. | :15:54.
Wales's most celebrated composers, Karl Jenkins. He says further cuts | :15:54. | :15:59.
will be gained an irreversible decline in the cultural well-being | :15:59. | :16:05.
of Wales. Many of unpeople will be excluded from the opportunity of | :16:05. | :16:10.
making music. All learning, or having the opportunity to play an | :16:10. | :16:17.
instrument. Once you're on that road of cuts and depleted | :16:17. | :16:26.
opportunities for young people, it is impossible to reverse it. | :16:26. | :16:29.
isn't just young musicians in south-east Wales feeling the pinch. | :16:29. | :16:33.
There are no -- no council-funded music lessons in Powys or | :16:33. | :16:40.
Carmarthenshire. It has reduced its spending by and and 20,000. | :16:40. | :16:48.
Flintshire Kurt 100 sent his 7,000, 30% of its budget. -- hundred and | :16:48. | :16:58.
:16:58. | :16:59. | ||
This concert band has been around for 50 years and their repertoire | :16:59. | :17:03.
doesn't lack ambition nor their ranks ability. Fewer young people | :17:03. | :17:09.
and training. His is a bit of a shame. I believe music for | :17:09. | :17:13.
youngsters is becoming slightly elitist and is for those people who | :17:13. | :17:18.
can afford to pay for instruments are lessons. That is a terrible | :17:18. | :17:24.
situation. Councils don't have to provide music service. Bupa says it | :17:24. | :17:28.
wants its service to becoming -- Newport council says it wants his | :17:28. | :17:32.
service to become self-funding. Before the ball to wishing could be | :17:32. | :17:37.
the difference between one day playing in front of him or filling | :17:37. | :17:40.
his issues. An MP has called on the UK | :17:40. | :17:42.
government to intervene in the royalties dispute between the group | :17:42. | :17:45.
that represents Welsh-language musicians and the BBC. The artists | :17:45. | :17:49.
want more money for their music. The row has led to Radio Cymru | :17:49. | :17:52.
losing the right to play around 30,000 songs. During Welsh | :17:52. | :17:54.
Questions, Plaid Cymru's Hywel Williams asked ministers to help | :17:54. | :17:58.
but the Wales Office says it is not a matter for them and is hopeful a | :17:58. | :18:04.
resolution can be found soon. The Prince of Wales company from | :18:04. | :18:06.
1st Battalion Welsh Guards have been marching through Carmarthen | :18:06. | :18:15.
today after six months in Afghanistan. More than 350 members | :18:15. | :18:18.
of the battalion have been training the African police and security | :18:18. | :18:28.
:18:28. | :18:29. | ||
forces in Helmand Province. -- Afghan police. Three of them were | :18:29. | :18:32.
killed during the tour of duty including Lance Corporal Lee Davies | :18:32. | :18:35.
who was born in Carmarthen. An extra 5 million has been | :18:35. | :18:39.
provided to help protect homes from flooding. The money from the Welsh | :18:39. | :18:41.
Government will go towards existing projects aiming to reduce the risk | :18:41. | :18:44.
to homes and businesses. It comes as pupils from a school in | :18:44. | :18:47.
Denbighshire, which was cut off for two days in November's floods, | :18:47. | :18:50.
joined the thousands of children singing at a concert in Manchester | :18:50. | :18:53.
tonight. Some of them from Ysgol Esgob Morgan still aren't back in | :18:53. | :19:01.
their homes after the deluge. doesn't feel like home yet, it | :19:01. | :19:05.
still feels like a living in somebody else's home. It is not | :19:05. | :19:11.
that good, really. I feel as if I am sleeping somebody else's bed. It | :19:11. | :19:16.
is a good experience and is helping me to forget about the floods. | :19:16. | :19:21.
is a great concert to go to. For those children who have had that | :19:21. | :19:26.
experience of the past few months, this will be perfect for them. | :19:26. | :19:29.
If you are watching this then chances are you don't have a | :19:29. | :19:31.
problem receiving Welsh television channels unless you pay for the | :19:31. | :19:34.
privilege. But many people across Wales are only getting English | :19:34. | :19:38.
regional programmes after the digital switchover. One MP says the | :19:38. | :19:41.
situation is shambolic and has called on the UK government to try | :19:41. | :19:50.
to resolve the issue. Hundreds of channels to choose from but not | :19:50. | :19:55.
those made in Wales. Elwyn Dodd from Johnstown near Wrexham was | :19:55. | :19:58.
faced with the loss of Welsh TV stations when digital switchover | :19:58. | :20:00.

regional channels. I want to know what is going on locally. It is on | :20:14. | :20:19.
the exception you get any reference to us. We are due to get some | :20:19. | :20:24.
information. Unless we pay for it through Sky or through a digital | :20:24. | :20:28.
dish, we're not having it. Dodd's MP Susan Elan Jones has | :20:28. | :20:31.
asked the Wales Office minister to make broadcasting regulator Ofcom | :20:31. | :20:39.
and Digital UK to resolve the issue. Some committees can not receive the | :20:39. | :20:43.
full suite of digital channels most people receive. Most of these | :20:43. | :20:46.
problems are relatively straightforward to sort out but | :20:46. | :20:50.
where there are persistent problems I am more than happy to meet the | :20:50. | :21:00.

honourable lady and with the disorder UK. -- Digital UK. And it | :21:07. | :21:10.
is unacceptable. They are supposed to provide a proper television | :21:10. | :21:14.
service for Wales and it is not acceptable to say to people, you | :21:14. | :21:17.
can watch north-west television or Midlands television because they | :21:17. | :21:22.
don't live in either place. You should get English and Welsh | :21:22. | :21:25.
language television programmes. Digital TV reception from a | :21:25. | :21:28.
transmitter like this can be weakened by hills and mountains | :21:28. | :21:31.
blocking the signal or it may be losing out to a stronger signal | :21:31. | :21:33.
from transmitters which serve England. The picture for viewers he | :21:33. | :21:36.
is still unclear. Let's get the day's sports news now | :21:36. | :21:39.
with Claire. Good evening. It's another big | :21:39. | :21:42.
night for Swansea City fans. The Swans are at the Emirates Stadium | :21:43. | :21:46.
to face Arsenal in their FA Cup third-round replay. Manager Michael | :21:46. | :21:49.
Laudrup says despite the busy run of games, with just two defeat | :21:49. | :21:52.
since October his squad is strong enough to compete in three | :21:52. | :22:02.
:22:02. | :22:03. | ||
tournaments. Michael Laudrup says he likes playing in London and with | :22:03. | :22:07.
four wins in five it is easy to understand why. Tonight another | :22:07. | :22:11.
chance to impress north of the capital at the Emirates, Arsenal's | :22:11. | :22:15.
home has been a happy hunting ground for Swansea. Their last | :22:15. | :22:22.
visit in the League saw them win 2- 0. I know we won them in the league | :22:22. | :22:29.
but I don't think we can come again. We can, maybe. Obviously they have | :22:29. | :22:34.
a good squad and they want to go on as well. It is a team that has and | :22:34. | :22:41.
one anything for the last many years. Has not won. They want to | :22:41. | :22:45.
win this trophy. And of the victory of the big clubs will be welcome | :22:45. | :22:49.
but many fans have one eye on next week's capital One clash against | :22:49. | :22:54.
Chelsea and a confidence among the squad is strong, it is something | :22:54. | :22:58.
Arsenal and struggling with. They don't want to exit the FA Cup at | :22:58. | :23:08.
:23:08. | :23:11. | ||
this stage and now it is their only chance of silverware. I feel our | :23:11. | :23:17.
team will be very dangerous if we have full confidence. We are not | :23:17. | :23:20.
far from it but we need a positive result in a big game to be | :23:20. | :23:24.
completely confident. Crash in out of the FA Cup tonight will not be | :23:25. | :23:27.
the end of the world for Swansea, it will enable them to concentrate | :23:27. | :23:33.
on the leak and their bid for that Wembley final. It is -- has been a | :23:33. | :23:38.
busy REM but with just two defeat since October the Michael Laudrup | :23:38. | :23:40.
squad is proving it is strong enough to compete in three | :23:40. | :23:46.
tournaments. All the build-up starts on Radio Wales tonight. | :23:46. | :23:49.
Rugby - After the injury list got longer, a boost for Wales today. | :23:50. | :23:52.
The Ospreys have confirmed Ryan Jones, Ian Evans and Richard | :23:52. | :23:55.
Hibbard should all be fit for Wales's first Six Nations game | :23:55. | :23:57.
against Ireland on February 2nd. Today, Blues captain, South | :23:57. | :23:59.
African-born, Andries Pretorius, one of five uncapped players | :23:59. | :24:02.
included in the Wales squad, said he feels privileged to be picked | :24:02. | :24:12.
and is very happy to be playing here. I haven't been here for years, | :24:12. | :24:17.
I have been in the UK for seven years. It is my home. I can | :24:18. | :24:22.
understand that each person is different. This is where we like to | :24:22. | :24:29.
raise our kids. Timmy, this is home. There is no place I'd rather go. -- | :24:29. | :24:32.
to me. Snooker. Mark Williams staged a | :24:32. | :24:35.
stunning comeback this after Newt beat fellow countrymen and friend | :24:35. | :24:38.
Matthew Stevens into the quarter- finals of the Masters snooker. | :24:38. | :24:41.
Williams was losing 4-1 frames at one stage but found some great form | :24:41. | :24:46.
to take the match 6-4. We're all on weather watch at the | :24:47. | :24:49.
moment but no-one more so that Derek. Keeping a close eye on | :24:50. | :24:59.
I can't go anywhere at the moment without somebody asking me if it is | :24:59. | :25:06.
going to snow. It is going to be a busy few days. Very busy on Twitter | :25:06. | :25:10.
today. It looks like some of us are foreign a dumping of snow on Friday, | :25:10. | :25:15.
enough to go sledging. Strong to gale force winds as well. Not | :25:15. | :25:19.
everywhere will have snow, some places will have plaint rain. | :25:19. | :25:26.
Tonight, cloudy with rain. Some of it like. Rain mostly for the west | :25:26. | :25:30.
coast. The dusting of snow in land. Lowest temperatures around the | :25:30. | :25:36.
minus Three degrees Celsius. Tomorrow, no surprises. Another | :25:36. | :25:40.
cold day in prospect. Cloudy as well with a little snow in places. | :25:40. | :25:48.
As we head in the West, rain or sleet is likely. Quite windy as | :25:48. | :25:53.
well on the coast. Plenty of cloud tomorrow with some rain, sleet or | :25:53. | :25:58.
snow. Most their patchy. Rain for the south-west of the West Coast, | :25:58. | :26:06.
like so for the Valleys. Temperatures plus one Celsius in a | :26:06. | :26:12.
Powys. Tomorrow night, the wind will strengthen and heavy rain will | :26:12. | :26:17.
reach Pembrokeshire by midnight and as this move further inland it will | :26:17. | :26:22.
fall as snow. There is a yellow and amber warning in force. In the | :26:22. | :26:27.
yellow warning it looks like five centimetres of snow is expected, | :26:27. | :26:31.
more on the hills. The amber area covers part of the south, the | :26:31. | :26:37.
Valleys, Powys and northern counties. Here, 10-15 centimetres | :26:37. | :26:44.
is expected. More on high ground. 25 centimetres or 10 inches | :26:44. | :26:49.
possible with bigger drifts. Blizzards and atrocious conditions. | :26:49. | :26:55.
Friday cold and windy. Not everywhere. Part of the south-west | :26:55. | :26:58.
coast, most are Pembrokeshire will have rain or sleep. Over the | :26:58. | :27:04.
weekend, the sleet and snow will ease with some fog and ice. Sunday | :27:04. | :27:12.
much drier but staying very much on Thank you. The main news again. | :27:12. | :27:15.
