Aamir Siddiqi was an innocent teenager murdered by two hitmen who | :00:02. | :00:10.
stabbed him to death in front of his parents. His sister described | :00:10. | :00:19.
him as the heartbeat of the family. Within seconds, our lives changed | :00:19. | :00:23.
forever. The world has moved on in the almost three years since the | :00:24. | :00:28.
murder but for us, the attack is as fresh as if it happened yesterday. | :00:28. | :00:31.
They'd been paid to carry out a contract killing but they got the | :00:31. | :00:41.
:00:41. | :00:45. | ||
wrong man. Jason Richards and Ben Hope guilty of Aamir's murder. | :00:45. | :00:52.
A swimming pool and a library could close, and an island sold off. Some | :00:52. | :01:01.
of the cuts proposed by Cardiff Council. | :01:01. | :01:05.
The there will be tough choices. As politicians, we have been sent here | :01:05. | :01:09.
to make those choices on behalf of the people we represent. All health | :01:09. | :01:12.
boards here are failing people like Wendy, by not providing essential | :01:12. | :01:15.
services for deaf people. It's time to get excited. The Six | :01:15. | :01:21.
Nations is here. Wales beat Ireland to set up a Grand Slam in 2012. And | :01:21. | :01:31.
everyone thinks it will be tight again this year. Winning by just | :01:31. | :01:39.
one point will do me! I will go for five points! Good evening. They | :01:39. | :01:42.
were paid 1,000 each to kill, but the drug addicts who went to the | :01:42. | :01:44.
wrong house and murdered and innocent teenager are tonight | :01:44. | :01:47.
facing life in jail. 17-year-old Aamir Siddiqi was at home with his | :01:47. | :01:50.
parents in the Roath area of Cardiff, when two masked men Jason | :01:50. | :01:55.
Richards and Ben Hope burst in and stabbed him in April20-10. Caroline | :01:55. | :02:05.
:02:05. | :02:07. | ||
Evans is outside the house for us tonight. | :02:07. | :02:11.
This is a case which sent a shudder through the whole city, the idea | :02:11. | :02:14.
that a normal teenager answering his own front door could be stabbed | :02:14. | :02:19.
to death in front of his parents. An attack so swift and so brutal | :02:19. | :02:29.
:02:29. | :02:29. | ||
they were unable to save their son. Aamir Siddiqi was 17, a bright, | :02:29. | :02:35.
popular student, hoping to study law at Cardiff University. But in | :02:35. | :02:41.
April last year, he was murdered in his own home. He answered the front | :02:41. | :02:45.
door to two masked men. They chased him inside and as his parents tried | :02:45. | :02:50.
in vain to fight them off, they stabbed him to death. Today, his | :02:50. | :02:55.
family emerged from the court saying justice had been done. | :02:55. | :02:59.
Today's guilty verdict is the right one. And as a family, we are | :02:59. | :03:05.
both delighted and relieved. On 11th April 1920 10, a house which | :03:05. | :03:09.
was previously it -- filled with love and laughter was brutally | :03:09. | :03:13.
destroyed by the callous and vicious attack on our parents and | :03:13. | :03:19.
brother. Within seconds, our lives changed forever. The world has | :03:19. | :03:22.
moved on -- moved on in almost three years is the murders but for | :03:22. | :03:29.
us, the attack is as fresh as if it happened yesterday. 38-year-old | :03:29. | :03:32.
Jason Richards and 39-year-old Ben Hope were found guilty of murdering | :03:32. | :03:37.
Aamir Siddiqi and attempting to murder his parents. The case | :03:37. | :03:40.
against them pieced together by police using mobile phone records | :03:40. | :03:48.
and CCTV footage. These City of Cardiff has extensive CT -- CCTV | :03:48. | :03:52.
coverage and I have no doubt the evidence together with Telephony | :03:52. | :03:56.
and forensic evidence has been a major factor in this successful | :03:56. | :04:01.
prosecution. During the trial, the court heard that the two drug | :04:01. | :04:04.
addicts had been paid to attack another man but they had gone to | :04:04. | :04:10.
the wrong house. Their target address was an end-of-terrace house | :04:10. | :04:15.
in Shirley Road but they went instead to wave rolled -- house 70 | :04:15. | :04:25.
:04:25. | :04:29. | ||
yards away. Aamir Siddiqi's parents tried to jump on the men and pull | :04:29. | :04:35.
them off their son. They were both stabbed in the attack. A few | :04:35. | :04:39.
seconds have changed our life. The people that have committed this | :04:39. | :04:48.
crime cannot understand what a loss, not just for my family and extended | :04:48. | :04:56.
family but the entire community. was a very popular boy. He was | :04:56. | :05:02.
liked by everybody. And particularly at school. Throughout | :05:02. | :05:06.
this case, both then bring each other for the attack. But today, | :05:06. | :05:11.
the jury decided both were guilty. Solving this murder, a crime which | :05:11. | :05:14.
at the outset seemed to have no motive, was a challenge for | :05:14. | :05:17.
detectives. They took CCTV from Cardiff buses, examined mobile | :05:17. | :05:27.
:05:27. | :05:31. | ||
phone records to build up the case against Richards and Hope. As the | :05:31. | :05:35.
masked man leapt up the steps of this Victorian villa, they were | :05:35. | :05:39.
intent on killing. Forcing their way in, one wielding a knife, they | :05:39. | :05:44.
howled as 17-year-old Aamir Siddiqi was fatally stabbed. His parents | :05:44. | :05:49.
were injured trying to save him. Their parental instincts kicked in | :05:49. | :05:53.
straight away and they did what I think every parent would do. And | :05:54. | :05:59.
that is you are protective to pretend to -- prevent harm coming | :05:59. | :06:03.
to your child and that is what exactly they did without fear for | :06:03. | :06:09.
their own safety. Aamir Siddiqi had been expecting his local Koran | :06:09. | :06:19.
study teacher. But he was never to see him again. Very, very sad. | :06:19. | :06:25.
was a very good boy. The masked men were employed to carry out a hit on | :06:25. | :06:29.
a victim in Shirley Road. But in what has been described in court as | :06:29. | :06:34.
a staggering incompetence, they came to a similar-looking house in | :06:34. | :06:38.
the neighbouring road. A drug- fuelled mistake that cost Aamir | :06:38. | :06:43.
Siddiqi his life. From the outset, police did not believe that Aamir | :06:43. | :06:46.
Siddiqi was the intended victim that they had no idea what was | :06:46. | :06:50.
behind this apparently motiveless crime. But within five days, a | :06:50. | :06:54.
successful media appeal resulted in the arrests of Ben Hope and Jason | :06:54. | :06:58.
Richards. The early breakthrough came when police were called to | :06:58. | :07:06.
this grocery store. The owner recognise the description of two | :07:06. | :07:09.
men wanted in connection of the murder. His mother said they had | :07:09. | :07:13.
been in the shop just hours before Aamir Siddiqi was killed. I asked | :07:13. | :07:17.
her what they bought and she said they asked for Tait and gloves and | :07:17. | :07:24.
that made me raised a few concerns. I decided to wind back the CCTV. | :07:24. | :07:30.
a result of viewing that CCTV, we were able to identify Ben Hope and | :07:30. | :07:33.
Jason Richards. That was done by the local beat officers, they know | :07:33. | :07:37.
the people in the area. It was -- was one of the most complex and | :07:37. | :07:40.
complicated investigations that be in South Wales have investigated | :07:40. | :07:47.
for many years. It had in excess of 8.5 years of CCTV to analyse. Tens | :07:47. | :07:52.
of thousands of rows of data of telephony that needed to be poured | :07:52. | :07:56.
over. Hogg on heroin, Jason Richards attended and a dictionary | :07:56. | :08:06.
:08:06. | :08:08. | ||
-- addiction meeting here. The pair met regularly at this house where | :08:08. | :08:12.
they would inject each other with heroin, smoked cannabis and take | :08:12. | :08:18.
crack cocaine. Jason Richards got his supply of drugs from an unnamed | :08:18. | :08:21.
Asian businessman, said to be a major player in the Cardiff and the | :08:21. | :08:27.
world. It was this man who ordered the it for just 2,000. But it was | :08:27. | :08:32.
not meant for Aamir Siddiqi. This man was the intended victim. He had | :08:32. | :08:35.
agreed to sell the business and his house for cash. It is now thought | :08:35. | :08:40.
that was an elaborate way of using this totally innocent family man to | :08:40. | :08:50.
:08:50. | :08:50. | ||
launder drug money. Aamir Siddiqi dreamt of being a lawyer and wanted | :08:50. | :08:55.
to study law at Cardiff University. His sixth-form college say he was | :08:55. | :09:00.
academically gifted at his loss has hit them all heart. He was the life | :09:00. | :09:05.
and soul of this college. He left an enormous hole in the place. And | :09:05. | :09:10.
it was very difficult for many of them to cope. We were in the middle | :09:10. | :09:16.
of examinations as well. All in all, it was an extremely difficult time. | :09:16. | :09:20.
After his murder, Aamir Siddiqi's friends had a football match in his | :09:20. | :09:27.
honour. He loved sport. We used to play football and cricket. Three | :09:27. | :09:30.
years on and he has not forgotten. In the park opposite his home, | :09:30. | :09:36.
friends raise money for a permanent memorial. Most of us believe in | :09:36. | :09:43.
heaven and hell. Aamir Siddiqi died for his religion, waiting for his | :09:43. | :09:48.
Koran teacher. We hope he is in paradise at the moment. He was the | :09:48. | :09:53.
least harmful person that you would have ever met. He had great | :09:53. | :09:57.
aspirations and ambitions. He was destined to do great things. It is | :09:57. | :10:03.
up to us now to keep his memory alive. After a trial lasting almost | :10:03. | :10:06.
five months it took the jury little more than five hours to reach | :10:06. | :10:09.
unanimous verdicts. The men will be sentenced next week but the judge | :10:10. | :10:18.
told them that sentence will be one of life in prison. | :10:18. | :10:22.
An inquest has returned a verdict of unlawful killing in the case of | :10:22. | :10:25.
a 96-year-old woman who died after falling down a lift shaft at a care | :10:25. | :10:29.
home in Cardiff. May Lewis fell 20 foot as her wheelchair was pulled | :10:29. | :10:33.
into the empty shaft by a carer five days after moving in to the | :10:33. | :10:40.
home. The inquest heard the lift door was faulty. | :10:40. | :10:42.
Cardiff has been selected as the preferred site for a new | :10:42. | :10:46.
incinerator for south Wales. Five councils have formed the Prosiect | :10:46. | :10:49.
Gwyrdd group to oversee the project, which will burn household and | :10:49. | :10:53.
commercial waste to create energy. Recycling firm Viridor have already | :10:53. | :10:57.
started to develop the site near the Splott area of the city. | :10:57. | :11:07.
Residents nearby say they'll continue to protest against it. | :11:07. | :11:10.
What I would say is that we understand the concerns of local | :11:10. | :11:15.
people. What we are hopeful is we will be able to answer the | :11:15. | :11:17.
technical and environmental questions they have when we talk to | :11:17. | :11:24.
the people. We are going to the High Court to look for a court | :11:24. | :11:29.
order to compel Cardiff Council to take action. And also, to compel | :11:29. | :11:38.
Cardiff Council not to support this project bid. The manager of the | :11:38. | :11:41.
Gleision Colliery in the Swansea Valley has appeared in court, | :11:41. | :11:43.
charged with manslaughter. Miners Gary Jenkins, David Powell, Phillip | :11:43. | :11:45.
Hill and Charles Breslin died after becoming trapped underground in | :11:45. | :11:49.
September 2011. Malcolm Fyfield is charged with four counts of gross | :11:49. | :11:52.
negligence manslaughter. The company which owns the colliery | :11:52. | :11:55.
faces four counts of corporate manslaughter. The next hearing is | :11:55. | :12:01.
at Swansea Crown Court later this month. | :12:01. | :12:04.
300 jobs are under threat at Cardiff Council in an attempt to | :12:04. | :12:07.
save money. The council is proposing to sell an island, stop | :12:07. | :12:11.
school music subsidies and close a swimming pool. The council says it | :12:11. | :12:14.
needs to save 22 million in the next year, and a total of 110 | :12:14. | :12:20.
million pounds over five years. It's one of many councils now | :12:20. | :12:24.
facing some difficult financial decisions. | :12:24. | :12:27.
You might think it's only billionaire businessmen who buy and | :12:27. | :12:29.
sell islands, but Cardiff Council own this one and they're thinking | :12:29. | :12:35.
of selling up. Flat Holm island may be sold off, part of a plan that | :12:35. | :12:39.
would also see an end to school music lesson subsidies and a cut to | :12:39. | :12:47.
library opening hours. The council's expecting a backlash. | :12:47. | :12:51.
are not elected to be popping up. At the end of the day, what we can | :12:51. | :12:58.
hope for is we will be respected for having made the right decisions. | :12:58. | :13:02.
I think that people will understand that there are difficult choices. | :13:02. | :13:11.
We live in difficult times. council says it is spending more on | :13:11. | :13:14.
social services. The plans aren't popular with people who use Splott | :13:15. | :13:21.
Swimming pool, which is also facing closure. It would make things hard | :13:21. | :13:24.
for our children. It will be a great shame. It is the only | :13:24. | :13:31.
swimming pool in this area. Once it is closed, that is it for good. | :13:31. | :13:41.
:13:41. | :13:42. | ||
When the good times return, it is unlikely that they will reopen it. | :13:42. | :13:45.
Cardiff Council will vote on these Budgett proposals at the end of the | :13:45. | :13:48.
month. But cats are not just an issue in the capital. Right across | :13:48. | :13:58.
:13:58. | :13:59. | ||
Wales, councils are making difficult choices. Every council | :13:59. | :14:04.
will be facing difficult decisions. The bigger cancel your art, the | :14:04. | :14:14.
more room there is for manoeuvre. - - counil you are. Anglesey, one of | :14:14. | :14:18.
Wales' smallest councils, is trying to save 3 million. It's dropped a | :14:18. | :14:21.
plan to close its public toilets but here, just like the rest of | :14:21. | :14:28.
Wales, the search for savings continues. Still to come tonight. | :14:28. | :14:33.
All the build up to the start of the Six Nations tomorrow. How do | :14:33. | :14:37.
you feed 74.000 hungry fans on match day? We've been given | :14:37. | :14:47.
:14:47. | :14:47. | ||
exclusive behind the scenes access here at the Millennium Stadium. | :14:47. | :14:50.
For most of us, booking a doctor's appointment or dealing with a | :14:50. | :14:53.
medical emergency means we simply pick up the phone and speak to | :14:53. | :14:58.
someone on the other end. But what if you're deaf? A BBC Wales | :14:58. | :15:00.
investigation has found that all Welsh health boards are failing to | :15:01. | :15:03.
comply with the law, by not providing accessible services for | :15:03. | :15:13.
:15:13. | :15:20. | ||
deaf people. For Wendy, comparing diaries with her mother is a | :15:20. | :15:24.
crucial task force or pre-let -- she relies on her for day-to-day | :15:24. | :15:27.
life but definitely needed her the day her daughter had breathing | :15:27. | :15:33.
problems. Wendy had to rely on a text message to wake her mother who | :15:33. | :15:36.
lives nearby so that she could call the ambulance. That was not the | :15:36. | :15:42.
only challenge. At that time, my mother unfortunately was also ill | :15:42. | :15:49.
and she was being sick. She had to go home. It left me on my own with | :15:49. | :15:53.
my daughter with no interpreter. And they were treating my daughter. | :15:53. | :15:56.
They were giving her injections and there was nobody to explain what | :15:56. | :16:03.
was going on. And Wendy was not alone. Around 500,000 people are | :16:03. | :16:06.
deaf or hard of hearing in Wales. The law states there should be | :16:06. | :16:10.
provisions in place to help them. But that is not being met. In | :16:10. | :16:14.
response, the health boards say there are some things in place to | :16:14. | :16:24.
:16:24. | :16:25. | ||
help but they are striving to improve access. Good morning. | :16:25. | :16:29.
this surgery, you can put some appointments by e-mail but in 90 % | :16:29. | :16:33.
of GP practices, the only way as over the phone or in person. And | :16:33. | :16:40.
however clear this may be for those who macro can here... It would be | :16:40. | :16:44.
no use if you were deaf. What is being called for our simple | :16:44. | :16:47.
inexpensive measures that are already in place in some practices. | :16:47. | :16:57.
:16:57. | :17:00. | ||
Using text and e-mails to book Nobody does not want to give good | :17:00. | :17:07.
service and good access to death patience. Everyone wants to do that. | :17:07. | :17:10.
But practices are reasonably aware but with all these things, | :17:10. | :17:14.
undoubtedly, awareness could be improved. It is not just a legal | :17:14. | :17:17.
obligation, health boards are failing to meet. They have been | :17:17. | :17:20.
asked by the was government along with other bodies to put a policy | :17:20. | :17:30.
:17:30. | :17:42. | ||
in place by last ever -- September Well done. What is the point in | :17:42. | :17:49.
clapping? I cannot hear it. Sarah goes into businesses with an | :17:49. | :17:54.
interpreter to make them more aware of how they can help. She does not | :17:54. | :18:00.
think that policies of the answer. I think it is about engaging with | :18:00. | :18:03.
people and of being frightened to do that. I believe that the moment | :18:03. | :18:10.
it his policy lead. -- that it his it his policy lead. -- that it his | :18:10. | :18:20.
:18:20. | :18:24. | ||
Recognising the problems people face is the issue. If my mother was | :18:25. | :18:28.
not alive, we do not know what will happen in the future, who will be | :18:28. | :18:33.
there to support me? I cannot rely on my mother all the time. If there | :18:33. | :18:37.
was something to happen to her, what would I do? Who would support | :18:37. | :18:42.
me? It's almost here. The Six Nations kicks off tomorrow | :18:42. | :18:45.
lunchtime, and Wales start their title defence at home. Ashleigh's | :18:46. | :18:50.
at the Millennium Stadium for us tonight. | :18:51. | :18:54.
Wales are the Grand Slam Champions, but they haven't been playing like | :18:54. | :18:58.
it for a few months now. Their recent record of seven consecutive | :18:58. | :19:01.
defeats would suggest they'll be hard pressed to repeat their | :19:01. | :19:07.
success. They've had a few injury problems too. But the Six Nations | :19:07. | :19:10.
is a notoriously unpredictable tournament. And if Wales can | :19:10. | :19:12.
rediscover their form against Ireland here tomorrow, anything is | :19:12. | :19:22.
:19:22. | :19:27. | ||
possible. They may be be the Grand Slam champions put Wales have | :19:27. | :19:30.
expectations are lower than 12 months ago. Back then, they were | :19:30. | :19:34.
confident after impressing at the World Cup. A brilliant win in | :19:34. | :19:38.
Dublin followed. But in lifting the Six Nations Trophy, they have not | :19:38. | :19:43.
beaten another Test nation. Their worst run of defeats for a decade. | :19:43. | :19:48.
Tomorrow, the need to sort the -- stop the downward spiral against | :19:48. | :19:53.
Ireland. We are at home first up and we can take a lot of pride from | :19:53. | :20:00.
that. That national jersey, to wear the national jersey and to be given | :20:00. | :20:04.
a plants best chance, players want that chance and it is important | :20:04. | :20:08.
that they perform on the weekend. History shows that winning the | :20:08. | :20:12.
first match of the tournament can often make-or-break a season. In | :20:12. | :20:15.
the last 10 seasons, when Wales have lost the first match, they | :20:15. | :20:21.
have never finished higher than 4th. When they have won their first | :20:21. | :20:27.
match, they have gone on to win the tournament. Winning week in week | :20:27. | :20:31.
out, the momentum is massive. It makes training that much happier | :20:31. | :20:35.
and there is less pressure. Training becomes a bit easier. If | :20:35. | :20:41.
you lose, with three away games, it is an uphill battle. It will be a | :20:41. | :20:48.
first Six Nations start for fly- half done -- Dan Biggar. But there | :20:48. | :20:52.
will be no hiding place for anyone when Ireland arrive in Cardiff. | :20:52. | :20:57.
Wales will need to rediscover the magic of 12 months ago. The players | :20:57. | :21:00.
have an extra incentive to do well in the tournament as they compete | :21:00. | :21:03.
for places on this summer's Lions tour. And we'll start the debate | :21:03. | :21:09.
about who Warren Gatland should pick, here on Wales Today. Former | :21:09. | :21:12.
Wales and Lions centre Tom Shanklin will be our special guest on Monday | :21:12. | :21:16.
nights throughout the tournament. Tom will be giving us his view on | :21:16. | :21:19.
who's played themselves into contention for the tour. So don't | :21:20. | :21:26.
miss our first Lions chat with Tom Shanklin on Monday night. Of course, | :21:26. | :21:28.
tomorrow this stadium will be packed with around 74,000 cheering | :21:28. | :21:34.
fans. But staging an event like this is a huge logistical operation, | :21:34. | :21:37.
requiring months of preparation. Wales Today has been given | :21:38. | :21:40.
exclusive access behind the scenes here at the stadium to find out | :21:41. | :21:50.
:21:51. | :21:51. | ||
just what it takes to host a Six Nations match. | :21:51. | :21:56.
Pitch-side, there is always plenty of activity or ahead of a game. But | :21:56. | :21:59.
behind closed doors, in the bowels of the Millennium Stadium, there is | :21:59. | :22:04.
if small army of staff looking after every single element just | :22:04. | :22:11.
take the kitchen. I will have 28 chefs in. We will be using over 100 | :22:11. | :22:18.
kilos of smoked fish. 160 kilos. This is a little dish we have | :22:18. | :22:23.
devised for Ireland. It is a caramelised Guinness Panna cotta. | :22:23. | :22:29.
It is something a little bit quirky that we can do one the day to make | :22:29. | :22:35.
them feel at home. Good morning and welcome to our first Six Nations | :22:35. | :22:44.
meeting. This is one man who knows how to keep calm under pressure. | :22:44. | :22:47.
Ian's job on the dais to make sure that the match kicks off on time | :22:47. | :22:55.
and every second counts. On this occasion, you have got island -- | :22:55. | :23:00.
Ireland coming out at 1324. Wales will be coming out at 1325. The | :23:00. | :23:03.
game is going out all over the world and people expected to happen | :23:03. | :23:08.
at the right time. It tomorrow, the stadium will be operating at full | :23:08. | :23:13.
capacity. To ensure it all runs smoothly, staff are using the | :23:13. | :23:19.
latest technology to give them a helping hand. The stadium system is | :23:19. | :23:23.
over 80 cameras. As important for us is that we can also link into | :23:23. | :23:29.
the Cardiff City system. We can look at the cameras as far as the | :23:29. | :23:34.
Severn Bridge. And if you ever wanted to know how that stadium | :23:34. | :23:42.
roof opens and closes... You just press that button. Tomorrow's game | :23:42. | :23:47.
has been months in the preparation. The one thing staff cannot | :23:47. | :23:54.
guarantee his who will win the match. Yes, that is so true. And if | :23:54. | :23:57.
you can't be here tomorrow, the game is live here on BBC One Wales. | :23:57. | :24:00.
Coverage starts at 1:00pm tomorrow, kick off at half-past. There's also | :24:00. | :24:08.
commentary on Radio Wales and Radio Cymru, and online. And don't forget | :24:08. | :24:11.
the weekend of rugby kicks off tonight - Wales under 20s against | :24:11. | :24:15.
Ireland is live over on BBC 2 Wales from 7. Just time to tell you about | :24:15. | :24:18.
the weekend's football. In the Premier League tomorrow, Swansea | :24:18. | :24:22.
head to West Ham, while top of the Championship Cardiff City travel to | :24:22. | :24:25.
Blackpool. In the Conference, Newport County play Kidderminster | :24:25. | :24:28.
at home, and Wrexham travel to Forest Green. The roof will be open | :24:28. | :24:32.
here at the stadium tomorrow, at Ireland's request. So the big | :24:32. | :24:38.
question for Derek tonight is, is it going to rain? The weather's | :24:38. | :24:41.
been unsettled this week and let's hope the Welsh can unsettle the | :24:41. | :24:47.
If you are going to the match tomorrow. It's going to be a lovely | :24:47. | :24:53.
day in Cardiff. Chilly but dry. Plenty of sunshine. The high around | :24:53. | :24:56.
seven Celsius. Tonight a few showers in parts of the north and | :24:57. | :25:00.
especially the west. Heavy with hail. Elsewhere dry. The cloud | :25:00. | :25:03.
clearing. A colder night than recently too with ground frost. Air | :25:03. | :25:06.
frost in Mid Wales. Here's the picture for 8:00am. Breezy on the | :25:06. | :25:09.
west coast with a few showers in Pembrokeshire. The rest of the | :25:09. | :25:12.
country fine and dry. The sky clear with some frost and lighter winds. | :25:12. | :25:15.
During the day, the showers in Pembrokeshire will clear. The whole | :25:15. | :25:18.
country then dry. The sunshine hazy in the afternoon with cirrus clouds. | :25:18. | :25:22.
The wind easing with a high of six or seven Celsius. The air will be | :25:22. | :25:25.
crystal clear tomorrow, so if you're heading into the hills and | :25:25. | :25:29.
mountains you'll see for miles! Tomorrow evening dry with a slight | :25:29. | :25:31.
frost but clouding over with rising temperatures and rain after | :25:31. | :25:39.
midnight. Sunday mostly cloudy. Some rain and drizzle but drier by | :25:39. | :25:44.
the afternoon with perhaps a few glimpses of sunshine. Milder. Highs | :25:44. | :25:51.
around 10 Celsius with a westerly breeze. Tomorrow is Candlemas Day | :25:51. | :25:54.
and some people believe that the weather on Candlemas can tell us | :25:54. | :26:00.
what the rest of the winter will be like and there's an old rhyme. If | :26:00. | :26:03.
Candlemas Day be fair and bright, winter will have another fight but | :26:03. | :26:06.
if Candlemas Day be clouds and rain, winter is gone and will not come | :26:06. | :26:10.
again. Tomorrow is going to be fair and bright which means we haven't | :26:10. | :26:17.
seen the last of winter! Indeed next week looks set to turn much | :26:17. | :26:23.
colder. Arctic winds bringing wintry showers. Hail, sleet and | :26:23. | :26:33.
:26:33. | :26:34. | ||
snow showers. Strong winds and wind chill. Our picture today is from | :26:34. | :26:36.
Giles Davies. Big waves in Pembrokeshire thanks to low | :26:37. | :26:40.
pressure. Thanks, Giles. Have a great weekend. Enjoy the sunshine | :26:40. | :26:50.
:26:50. | :26:51. | ||
and the rugby tomorrow. The main news again, two men have | :26:51. | :26:55.
been found guilty of murdering a teenager in a contract killing that | :26:55. | :26:59.
went wrong. Aamir Siddiqi was at home in Cardiff when two men burst | :26:59. | :27:03.
in and sat him. Ben Hope and Jason Richards have been -- had been paid | :27:03. | :27:07.
1,000 each to murder a middle-aged businessman living in the street | :27:07. | :27:12.
behind. Aamir Siddiqi was a beautiful person with a bright | :27:13. | :27:16.
future. If he was still with us, he would be looking forward to was | :27:16. | :27:21.
burnt -- turning 21 this year and completing his law degree. He was | :27:21. | :27:25.
the heartbeat of our family but his warmth, love, affection and humour | :27:25. | :27:30. |
