Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's headlines: It affects thousands of

:00:00.:00:08.

people on benefits here - tonight the leader of the Labour party, Ed

:00:08.:00:12.

Miliband, says if he was in charge he would scrap the so-called bedroom

:00:12.:00:18.

tax. I think it'll make a difference to

:00:18.:00:22.

tens of thousands of families in Wales. I think it's causing hardship

:00:22.:00:27.

and misery and it's not even working.

:00:27.:00:42.

Also tonight: Michael Pearce appears at Cardiff Crown court charged with

:00:42.:00:47.

the murder of six-week-old Alfie Sullock.

:00:47.:00:51.

A U-turn by UKIP - they say they've changed their policy on abolishing

:00:51.:00:56.

the National Assembly. The manager described it as a

:00:56.:00:59.

fantastic win - Swansea City celebrate their first win on the

:00:59.:01:05.

continent for more than 30 years. And good evening from the home of

:01:05.:01:09.

cricket. I'm live at Lords where tomorrow at this famous ground

:01:09.:01:12.

Glamorgan will try and win their first bit of silverware in almost a

:01:12.:01:14.

decade. Good evening. Labour has tonight

:01:14.:01:22.

confirmed it would scrap the UK Government's housing benefit

:01:22.:01:26.

changes. The Westminster coalition says it's made the system more fair

:01:26.:01:29.

but there's been a fierce row over what critics call the bedroom tax.

:01:29.:01:34.

Councils say 35,000 homes here have been affected. On the eve of his

:01:35.:01:40.

party's conference in Brighton, Ed Miliband has told us Labour would

:01:40.:01:44.

overturn the changes if it wins the next general election. Daniel Davies

:01:44.:01:51.

reports. It is a squeeze for Alicia. The

:01:51.:01:56.

21-year-old mother from two from Cardiff is on a waiting list for

:01:56.:02:02.

each new home. I have been waiting since she was born and they keep on

:02:02.:02:07.

saying it will be six or seven years to wait.

:02:07.:02:10.

I thought when the bedroom tax came out that everything would be OK and

:02:10.:02:19.

we can move out quicker but it is still the same.

:02:19.:02:24.

What she calls the bedroom tax, the UK government calls the under

:02:24.:02:28.

occupancy charge. In April, tenants with more room than they needed got

:02:28.:02:32.

a benefit cut. It was opposed to help them free up space for people

:02:32.:02:38.

like Alicia. With so many people in overcrowded housing waiting for a

:02:38.:02:44.

new home, the government said it can't afford to pay benefit for

:02:44.:02:48.

people with spare dreams but critics say it forces able to move out or

:02:48.:02:52.

lose out. Many of the people who rely on

:02:52.:02:57.

social housing are disabled. Two thirds are disabled people. There

:02:57.:03:04.

isn't anywhere for them to move to. I think the bedroom tax is not

:03:04.:03:11.

working and it should be scrapped. The TUC says people are struggling

:03:11.:03:15.

because of the housing benefit changes.

:03:15.:03:17.

Its survey nine local authorities and found 35% of council tenants

:03:17.:03:22.

affected had fallen behind with rent. XM and Anglesey were worst

:03:22.:03:28.

affected, with 44% of people hit by the changes pushed into arrears. We

:03:28.:03:34.

have seen an increase in arrears. We are worried about the

:03:34.:03:41.

sustainability. People who find many in the short-term art may be in

:03:41.:03:45.

trouble. She said houses available for rent

:03:45.:03:50.

are like gold dust and there is no money to build more. These benefit

:03:50.:03:54.

changes were meant to ease that problem and Labour has made no

:03:54.:03:58.

secret of the fact it thinks the policy has failed and now it has

:03:58.:04:00.

confirmed it will be. -- it will policy has failed and now it has

:04:00.:04:05.

scrap it. And Daniel's here in the studio with me now. Now we know what

:04:05.:04:09.

a Labour government would do. What does the current government think

:04:09.:04:10.

about Ed Miliband's announcement? does the current government think

:04:10.:04:13.

It has maintained that the policy is there so it means that people in

:04:13.:04:18.

social housing now face the same rules as anyone who has got a

:04:18.:04:23.

private-sector landlord. Tonight the Conservatives have hit back at

:04:23.:04:26.

Labour, saying they were never graced the half £1 billion they say

:04:26.:04:30.

will be needed to introduce the policy Ed Miliband is talking about

:04:30.:04:33.

without putting more pressure on already stretched public finances?

:04:33.:04:41.

And how would Labour pay for this? Ed Miliband says he will close

:04:41.:04:45.

loopholes in the boardroom. One is a scheme that would allow employees to

:04:45.:04:49.

exchange some of their rights in return for shares. In the interview

:04:49.:04:54.

that we played a section of their goes on to say this is part of an

:04:54.:04:59.

effort to combat the cost of living crisis and that really is the big

:04:59.:05:03.

picture for the general election campaign that is coming up. Even if

:05:03.:05:08.

the economy improves, will people feel it? That is the question Labour

:05:08.:05:12.

is trying to answer with this policy.

:05:12.:05:15.

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a six-week-old

:05:15.:05:18.

baby boy. Alfie Sullock, from the Fairwater area of Cardiff, died in

:05:18.:05:21.

hospital last month after police were called to a property in Nelson

:05:21.:05:24.

near Caerphilly. Jenny Rees was in court.

:05:24.:05:27.

32-year-old Michael Pearce was originally arrested and appeared in

:05:27.:05:31.

magistrates court charged with assault on the 19th of August -

:05:31.:05:34.

that's after police were called to his home in Nelson, near Caerphilly

:05:34.:05:39.

last month. Yesterday that charge was changed to murder. This is

:05:39.:05:45.

six-week-old baby Alfie Sullock. He lived with his mother, Donna, in the

:05:45.:05:48.

six-week-old baby Alfie Sullock. He Fairwater area of Cardiff. That

:05:48.:05:52.

night he was taken to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr after police

:05:52.:05:54.

received reports that a baby had stopped breathing at Pearce's home

:05:55.:05:57.

received reports that a baby had in Nelson. Alfie was later

:05:57.:05:59.

transferred to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where

:05:59.:06:04.

he died four days later. Today's hearing lasted only half an

:06:04.:06:07.

hour. Michael Pearce, wearing a dark suit, spoke only to confirm his name

:06:07.:06:11.

and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in

:06:11.:06:16.

November. Jenny Rees, BBC Wales Today, Cardiff Crown Court.

:06:16.:06:21.

Detectives are still waiting to question the estranged husband of a

:06:21.:06:24.

woman who was killed in a shooting in Newport last month. Caroline

:06:24.:06:28.

Parry, who was 46, died after the incident in sea breeze Avenue on

:06:28.:06:33.

eighth August. Christopher Parry was found with gunshot wounds to his

:06:33.:06:36.

face and a shotgun was found at the scene. He has remained in hospital

:06:36.:06:40.

since. The UKIP leader Nigel Farage has

:06:40.:06:44.

told BBC Wales his party has changed its policy on abolishing the

:06:44.:06:47.

National Assembly and should "jolly well get on with the fact that the

:06:47.:06:52.

UK is changing". He also thinks his party could top the polls in Wales

:06:53.:06:56.

next May at the European elections. From the UKIP conference in

:06:56.:06:59.

Westminster, here's our political reporter Carl Roberts.

:06:59.:07:07.

It is a party that now claims it is part of the political mainstream but

:07:07.:07:09.

It is a party that now claims it is in Wales, officials say UKIP

:07:09.:07:13.

membership has doubled this year. Brian Morris is one of those new

:07:13.:07:18.

party members. He defected from the Conservatives took months ago and is

:07:18.:07:21.

in London for his first UKIP conference.

:07:21.:07:26.

I looked at the policies and I am delighted with the policies. I have

:07:26.:07:30.

been looking at it for some time I was very unhappy the Conservative

:07:30.:07:35.

policies in numerous areas. This is the 20th anniversary conference of

:07:35.:07:40.

UKIP. It's Anglesey by-election result has

:07:40.:07:46.

raised party hopes. In Wales, UKIP will look to celebrate their 21st

:07:46.:07:52.

birthday by holding onto their seat in the European elections. Party

:07:52.:07:55.

leader Nigel Farage says that they will have a seat in the Assembly

:07:55.:07:59.

after the next elections in three years time. In an interview with

:07:59.:08:02.

politics Wales, he also confirmed years time. In an interview with

:08:02.:08:09.

that his party no longer supported abolishing the Assembly.

:08:09.:08:12.

Europe is changing so we need to abolishing the Assembly.

:08:12.:08:15.

jolly well get on and accept the fact that the whole United Kingdom

:08:15.:08:20.

is changing. We are moving towards a more federal model but that doesn't

:08:20.:08:22.

is changing. We are moving towards a mean we can't move towards more

:08:22.:08:27.

devolution. We still accept it. The current Welsh UKIP NEP strongly

:08:27.:08:34.

disagrees with the change of policy but he does step down in May and his

:08:34.:08:39.

successor is yet to be chosen. No mention on the devolution in the

:08:39.:08:47.

conference. The party aims to come top of the polls across the UK,

:08:47.:08:53.

including here in Wales. Brian thinks his leader's speech can help

:08:53.:08:57.

achieve that. It was a brilliant speech. He

:08:57.:09:00.

covered a lot of ground and was there to interviews and he really

:09:00.:09:03.

covered a lot of ground and was did do that so he succeeded. -- to

:09:03.:09:11.

end themes. Topping the polls here in Wales

:09:11.:09:15.

would certainly contribute to achieving the end UKIP goal.

:09:15.:09:18.

Staff at Rhondda Cynon Taf council have been warned to expect job

:09:18.:09:21.

losses and service closures, as the local authority tries to balance its

:09:21.:09:25.

budget. It plans to save £56 million over four years. The leader of the

:09:25.:09:28.

council, Anthony Christopher, says "unprecedented and difficult"

:09:28.:09:31.

decisions will have to be taken and that all services are under review.

:09:31.:09:38.

S4C is looking at the possibility of moving the channels headquarters

:09:38.:09:42.

outside Cardiff for the first time. The broadcaster is considering

:09:42.:09:46.

relocating to Carmarthen or Gwynedd. It's part of a study which will

:09:46.:09:49.

examine the potential economic and linguistic benefits to the

:09:49.:09:52.

communities around any new site. Remaining in Cardiff is also an

:09:52.:09:56.

option and any decision is likely to be made next year.

:09:56.:10:05.

This is certainly not an exercise in job cutting, it is an exercise in

:10:05.:10:10.

looking at the activities of S4C and whether there can be benefit in

:10:10.:10:15.

terms of cultural, social and linguist Dick benefits generated by

:10:15.:10:16.

locating some of those or all of linguist Dick benefits generated by

:10:16.:10:21.

those activities outside of Cardiff. Still to come in the programme:

:10:21.:10:29.

After publishing dozens of books during his career writer and poet

:10:29.:10:32.

Dannie Abse, turning 90 this weekend, says his latest may be his

:10:32.:10:34.

last. I fit it would be a good idea if I

:10:34.:10:48.

confront my own old age in which, as I say in some of the poems, it is

:10:48.:10:53.

where all the pavements slope uphill.

:10:53.:10:58.

It's an extremely rare genetic condition that affects around 200

:10:58.:11:02.

people worldwide. Pitt Hopkins Syndrome prevents some children from

:11:02.:11:06.

being able to walk or talk and delays development. Three-year-old

:11:06.:11:10.

Izzy Groves from Denbigh is one of those with the condition. Now her

:11:10.:11:17.

parents are hoping to help others who are seeking a diagnosis. Elen

:11:17.:11:22.

Wyn has the story. Playing happily at home but Izzy

:11:22.:11:35.

Groves has Pitt Hopkins Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. There were no

:11:35.:11:39.

problems until she was nine months old when she had an equal leg

:11:40.:11:43.

lengths. She was struggling to sit up. Then

:11:43.:11:46.

we went for an x-ray which proved She was struggling to sit up. Then

:11:46.:11:51.

she didn't have an equal leg lengths but the paediatrician thought she

:11:51.:11:54.

had an usual facial features which we didn't see as a family and we

:11:54.:11:59.

thought she was just quite beautiful. She has that of speech

:11:59.:12:05.

and potential for seizures. Those symptoms she doesn't have the moment

:12:06.:12:08.

but we need to be aware of for future. She had an intellectual

:12:09.:12:14.

disability and physical disabilities so we had to do quite rigorous

:12:14.:12:18.

physical programmes with her every day.

:12:18.:12:26.

At this special school, they are helping Izzy Groves manage her

:12:26.:12:31.

condition but little research has been done into Pitt Hopkins

:12:31.:12:37.

Syndrome. We have obviously looked at the

:12:37.:12:40.

condition on the Internet and read about other children who have

:12:40.:12:47.

diagnosis of Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. Izzy is doing really well, walking

:12:47.:12:51.

independently around the classroom and becoming a lot more independent

:12:51.:12:55.

with regards to eating. That is what we are focusing on.

:12:55.:13:03.

Izzy's parents have a motto, never say never. The inverse their

:13:03.:13:10.

daughter in various activities. It is thought that a lot of children

:13:10.:13:16.

may be living with a diagnosis of global develop mental delay that do

:13:16.:13:23.

have Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. That is why we are trying to raise awareness

:13:23.:13:29.

of children with the condition. I can't say there is acceptance but I

:13:29.:13:31.

have to believe this was meant to happen. The reason why it has

:13:31.:13:37.

happened I don't really know but we will get through it together.

:13:37.:13:42.

The family don't know what the future holds but they will carry on

:13:42.:13:45.

raising awareness of this very rare condition.

:13:45.:13:51.

Let's move on to sport. They've been one of Europe's best

:13:51.:13:54.

football sides over the past decade but last night Valencia became the

:13:54.:13:58.

latest side to be swept aside by Swansea City. Manager Michael

:13:58.:14:00.

Laudrup hailed the 3-0 victory in Spain as a fantastic win. It's the

:14:00.:14:04.

first time the Swans have won on the continent in 31 years. Cemlyn Davies

:14:04.:14:09.

reports. Swansea City fans had been warned of

:14:09.:14:13.

dizzying heights at the Mestalla stadium and as their side scored a

:14:13.:14:16.

third goal against the home side they could celebrate being at the

:14:16.:14:21.

top of Group A. Valencia are European veterans - they won this

:14:21.:14:24.

competition nine years ago but they were made to look average by a

:14:24.:14:28.

Swansea side enjoying their first season in Europe for 22 years. Goals

:14:28.:14:34.

from Bony, Michu and De Guzman gave Michael Laudrup's side a

:14:34.:14:41.

comprehensive scoreline. I have to say we dominated the game

:14:41.:14:48.

from first to last minute. We scored three goals but before we scored the

:14:48.:14:53.

second, I think we had three or four huge chances to score a goal. So it

:14:53.:14:59.

could have been even more. So I am, of course, I am very pleased.

:14:59.:15:03.

The players were also clearly delighted. Jordi Amat posted this

:15:03.:15:06.

picture online. As the traveling Jack army enjoyed another famous

:15:06.:15:09.

victory one fan in particular was disappointed not to be with them.

:15:09.:15:13.

Nigel Gigg wasn't able to make the trip because his father isn't well

:15:13.:15:16.

but his wife and daughter were at the match.

:15:16.:15:24.

I have been to Valencia to see football before and it is a

:15:24.:15:28.

beautiful city and a lovely place to watch football so I was gutted not

:15:28.:15:32.

to go. The way the game went made it all the worse, I'm afraid.

:15:32.:15:36.

Nigel will be hoping to be part of Swansea's next European adventure.

:15:36.:15:39.

But now the Swans turn their attention back to the Premier League

:15:39.:15:42.

and Sunday's game away to Crystal Palace.

:15:42.:15:45.

Now it's a big weekend for Glamorgan. They're at Lords for

:15:45.:15:49.

their first final in 13 years. Claire Summers is there for us

:15:49.:15:57.

tonight. Claire. Good evening. Welcome to the home of

:15:57.:16:04.

cricket. Let me tell you, if you don't own your cricket, let me give

:16:04.:16:09.

you some geography. Just over there is Abbey Road, where the Beatles

:16:09.:16:16.

recorded that famous album. Over there is Baker Street, the home of

:16:16.:16:19.

Sherlock Holmes. Glamorgan are hoping to win a final at Lord's

:16:19.:16:24.

tomorrow for the first time. When you arrive here, the first thing

:16:24.:16:28.

that takes your breath away if the grand old pavilion, where the

:16:28.:16:31.

players will leave tomorrow afternoon. Glamorgan will be in the

:16:31.:16:39.

away dressing room after the toss but that bodes well because there

:16:39.:16:42.

will be a Welsh attendant looking after them. You might have noticed

:16:42.:16:46.

that I am walking slightly uphill. Cricket fans will know that the

:16:46.:16:50.

that I am walking slightly uphill. surface here isn't flat. There is

:16:50.:16:55.

basically an eight foot drop so from one boundary over their right to the

:16:55.:16:58.

other side is an eight foot slope. Who will fare better with that

:16:58.:17:04.

tomorrow? Glamorgan are the clear underdogs but they are not worried

:17:04.:17:10.

about that a bit. Here's our sports reporter Ashleigh Crowter.

:17:10.:17:15.

It is the sort of moment that only comes around once in a career, the

:17:15.:17:19.

chance to win silverware at the famous cricket ground. The Morgan

:17:19.:17:25.

took time taking in the grandeur of the site this afternoon. Simon Jones

:17:25.:17:29.

has played there for England but never in a county final. He is

:17:29.:17:36.

timing after the game and it is a perfect way to finish. It is a

:17:36.:17:41.

perfect stage as a county with the dead to to get to the Lord's final

:17:41.:17:46.

is an achievement and we have to go there and play the brand of cricket

:17:46.:17:50.

we have been playing which is positive and with confidence.

:17:50.:18:00.

The last trophy came nine years ago. They clinched the old Sunday league

:18:00.:18:06.

title at Colwyn Bay in 2004 and the captain is now one of the coaches.

:18:06.:18:13.

It has been a long time in coming and we believe there will be a lot

:18:13.:18:16.

of support at Lord's for us tomorrow. We understand the

:18:16.:18:20.

responsibility that is on our shoulders, that we go and try and

:18:20.:18:26.

put a show on four people. The past decade has not been an easy

:18:26.:18:31.

time for a Glamorgan supporter. Every season the same story. Could

:18:31.:18:36.

do better. A lot better, in fact. Now, at the end of the term as

:18:36.:18:41.

coach, they seem to have turned the corner. They have the price people

:18:41.:18:46.

all the way to the final and plans another shock tomorrow.

:18:47.:18:51.

We are massive underdogs. They have got seven or eight international

:18:51.:18:58.

players and we do have a couple so I think it will help.

:18:58.:19:04.

The pristine pitch had been lovingly prepared by a Welsh man. Adrian

:19:04.:19:07.

Morgan is the assistant head groundsman at Lord's.

:19:07.:19:13.

I have to be impartial and offer the same advice to players but inside

:19:13.:19:17.

there is only one team I want to win.

:19:17.:19:22.

Old Father Time, who surveys the ground, has seen a few things over

:19:22.:19:26.

the years but never a good Morgan victory at the final so tomorrow may

:19:26.:19:35.

be the day at last. Great players have walked down the steps.

:19:35.:19:40.

The armed those doors is probably the most famous room in the home of

:19:40.:19:46.

cricket. The Long room at Lord's. I went there today and caught up with

:19:46.:19:52.

a former Glamorgan legend, Hugh Morris. He has been running the game

:19:52.:19:58.

in England and Wales but is set to go back to Glamorgan next year. I

:19:58.:20:04.

asked him how he felt Glamorgan would fair tomorrow.

:20:04.:20:07.

I think the performance against Hampshire in the semifinal was

:20:07.:20:12.

fantastic. Hatcher have been the most successful one day team in the

:20:12.:20:16.

country for the last couple of years so to beat them down in Southampton

:20:16.:20:21.

so convincingly, I think the Morgan should take a lot of confidence from

:20:21.:20:28.

that. Talking about Glamorgan winning

:20:28.:20:32.

silverware. Do you know it is almost 20 years that Glamorgan won in

:20:32.:20:37.

Canterbury? You were camped in -- captain.

:20:37.:20:43.

In my cricket career, that was one of my most memorable days. We hadn't

:20:43.:20:47.

won a trophy in 24 years and it was extra special because it was the

:20:47.:20:52.

As you leave your post here, taking up a new chapter at Glamorgan, one

of your first duties is to appoint a new coach and you have strong

candidates? Yes. We are expecting candidates.

:21:16.:21:22.

Applications will close in the coming weeks and we will interview

around October and hope to appoint the best person thereafter.

Glamorgan is the only county never to have one in a final at Lord's.

About time that changed? It is. It is great that the weather is set

special occasion. It certainly will be special and we

are all looking forward to it. All eyes on tomorrow but Glamorgan have

had to play today in the county championship. They have been in

action at Chelmsford and their much away to Essex ended in a draw fair.

We will be live here tomorrow, bringing you all the drama from

weekend Dannie Abse celebrates his 90th birthday and says his latest

collection of poems could be the last time he puts pen to paper. He's

been speaking to our arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas.

:23:39.:23:43.

There may be a final selected for collected book but this is, you

:23:43.:23:48.

know, it takes me four or five years to write a book and it may well be

:23:48.:23:52.

my last book. Later, an easy in the velvet dark,

Splitting his time between Wales and London, he also had a career as a

doctor. In his 90th year, a chance to reflect on life, love and his

celebrations, a hint at the secret to a long and healthy life.

:24:41.:24:47.

I once had a motto years ago for myself, be visited, expect nothing

:24:47.:24:54.

and endure. I have been visited. I have expected a lot, actually. But I

:24:55.:25:00.

have endured. Dannie Abse speaking to Huw Thomas.

:25:00.:25:03.

Time for the weekend weather forecast, and Derek I understand

:25:03.:25:04.

it's going to be pretty good? Note Stormy weather heading our way,

:25:05.:25:15.

which you can get this time of year. I can promise some dry, bright

:25:15.:25:18.

weather this weekend but it's not all plain sailing. There is some low

:25:18.:25:22.

cloud, mist and drizzle on the way as well. The best of the sunshine in

:25:22.:25:26.

the north-east and the Marches. Also becoming warmer and humid. Dry this

:25:26.:25:29.

evening with a few cloud breaks and then after midnight it will start to

:25:29.:25:33.

moisten-up with light rain and drizzle. Not a cold night. Lowest

:25:33.:25:35.

temperatures eight Celsius in Denbighshire, 13 on the

:25:35.:25:38.

Carmarthenshire coast. Tomorrow's chart shows high pressure over

:25:38.:25:40.

France. This warm front will bring warmer, humid and moist air from the

:25:40.:25:44.

Tropics. So here's the picture for 8:00am. Not very inspiring. The

:25:44.:25:51.

north-east mostly dry but for most of us a dull and damp start to the

:25:51.:25:55.

day. Some patchy light rain and drizzle. Low cloud, mist and hill

:25:56.:25:59.

fog as well. During the day, some improvement. The south and west will

:25:59.:26:02.

stay cloudy with spots of drizzle and mist. Elsewhere becoming dry and

:26:02.:26:07.

brighter. Some sunshine in the north-east and the Marches. And

:26:07.:26:11.

where the sun shines it will feel warm with the temperature rising to

:26:11.:26:14.

19 or 20 Celsius. Cooler where it stays grey and misty. If you're

:26:15.:26:18.

heading to Lords for the showdown between Glamorgan and

:26:18.:26:21.

Nottinghamshire. Dry with a light breeze. Tomorrow night low cloud

:26:21.:26:24.

will become fairly extensive with mist, hill and coastal fog. Spots of

:26:24.:26:28.

drizzle and a very mild, muggy night. Sunday a grey and misty

:26:28.:26:34.

start. A few spots of light rain and drizzle in the west and south-west.

:26:35.:26:37.

Otherwise becoming dry and brightening up with some hazy

:26:37.:26:41.

sunshine in the afternoon. Feeling humid too with mainly light winds.

:26:41.:26:44.

The highest temperatures in the north-east. Rising into the low 20s.

:26:44.:26:57.

Good for September. It's the autumn equinox on Sunday but we haven't

:26:58.:27:01.

seen the last of summer yet. Next week, plenty of dry weather thanks

:27:01.:27:04.

to high pressure. Some lovely sunshine and above average

:27:04.:27:05.

temperatures. sunshine

The main news again from the BBC. The UKIP leader has found himself

:27:11.:27:15.

overshadowed by one of his MEPs who referred to a group of women there

:27:15.:27:21.

as sluts. Godfrey Bloom said he was joking when he used the term but the

:27:21.:27:25.

party has suspended him. And the leader of the Labour Party said if

:27:25.:27:31.

he was in charge, he would scrap the so-called bedroom tax.

:27:31.:27:34.

The UK government said housing benefit changes had made the system

:27:34.:27:40.

fairer. And that is Wales Today. We'll have a quick update at 8:00pm,

:27:40.:27:44.

more news at 10:25pm. For now though, from all of us on the

programme,
