That's all from the BBC News at Six, so it's goodbye from me, and on BBC

:00:00.:00:00.

Welcome to Wales Today. Tonight's headlines.

:00:00.:00:00.

Warnings of high tides force students in Aberystwyth to evacuate

:00:07.:00:12.

their seafront accomModation again. Weeks after the coastline was

:00:13.:00:15.

battered by waves and high winds, fears this weekend there'll be more

:00:16.:00:24.

damage. There are warnings that coastal

:00:25.:00:27.

flooding could be as severe as earlier this month and there are

:00:28.:00:30.

currently flood warnings in place across Wales.

:00:31.:00:46.

Also tonight. Deputy headteacher Gareth Williams

:00:47.:00:50.

pleads guilty to charges of voyeurism after secretly filming

:00:51.:00:55.

children. Drugs like these give highs like

:00:56.:00:58.

cannabis and ecstasy, but they're legal and there are claims children

:00:59.:01:03.

as young as 12 are taking them. Why efforts to tackle the problem are

:01:04.:01:07.

being criticised. All 22 council leaders meet for the

:01:08.:01:10.

first time to discuss reorganisation. They say change is

:01:11.:01:14.

inevitable but want it on their terms.

:01:15.:01:17.

And I'm here at the Millennium Stadium. Wales are in the hunt for a

:01:18.:01:23.

Six Nations hat-trick. Can they lift this for the third time in a row.

:01:24.:01:27.

Warren Gatland says they know what's at stake.

:01:28.:01:33.

There is a big carrot at the end of this tournament in terms of

:01:34.:01:36.

potentially doing something special. No team has ever won the

:01:37.:01:40.

Six Nations three times in a row and maybe creating history.

:01:41.:01:45.

Good evening. Coastal areas of Wales are preparing for high tides and

:01:46.:01:49.

strong winds which are expected to hit the country over the next 24

:01:50.:01:53.

hours. Officials have warned that coastal flooding could be as severe

:01:54.:01:58.

as that at the start of the year. Tonight, there are flood warnings in

:01:59.:02:02.

place as well as flood alerts. One of the towns most badly hit in

:02:03.:02:05.

January was Aberystwyth and our reporter Charlotte Dubenskij is

:02:06.:02:12.

there for us. Good evening. You join me on what is

:02:13.:02:17.

a relatively calm evening on Aberystwyth promenade but if the

:02:18.:02:23.

forecast is anything to go by, this is definitely just the quiet before

:02:24.:02:28.

the storm. I have already seen the waves coming in and they are

:02:29.:02:31.

breaking a little bit harder and we are about two hours before high tide

:02:32.:02:37.

this evening. Those strong winds and high tides are forecast across this

:02:38.:02:41.

weekend. These are students probably expected

:02:42.:02:46.

to be having more fun on a Friday. Packing for higher ground has become

:02:47.:02:51.

a regular occurrence. This is the third time this student has had to

:02:52.:02:59.

leave his room. It is exciting. Perhaps the excitement last thing

:03:00.:03:03.

too long now. Just hopefully it will pass and we don't have another crazy

:03:04.:03:09.

winter. Aberystwyth University says it is better to be safe than sorry.

:03:10.:03:19.

One of the areas I teach is natural events and many people can get

:03:20.:03:24.

killed. What is key to these is when authorities have the information

:03:25.:03:27.

they needed but are afraid to make that decision. We are not prepared

:03:28.:03:34.

to take that risk. More severe weather is the last thing this town

:03:35.:03:39.

needs. Repair work has been put on hold while defence becomes the

:03:40.:03:44.

priority. But the focus is not just on Aberystwyth. Natural Resources

:03:45.:03:49.

Wales is warning all coastal areas will be hit with flooding. We do get

:03:50.:03:57.

the high spring tides once every month but it is augmented by these

:03:58.:04:01.

strong winds which are going to drive the waves onshore and then the

:04:02.:04:05.

low pressure system that goes through at the same time, if those

:04:06.:04:10.

happen at the same time, the sea levels will rise, the wind will push

:04:11.:04:14.

it on shore and the effects can be much more damaging. Across Wales,

:04:15.:04:18.

preparations have been made for this weekend. In this area, 500 sandbags

:04:19.:04:27.

have blocked a gap in sea defences while in Fishguard, these bags have

:04:28.:04:32.

been placed in the lower town to protect properties.

:04:33.:04:40.

You might just be able to see behind me that the construction workers are

:04:41.:04:43.

just putting away their work for this evening. They have been working

:04:44.:04:50.

tirelessly throughout the day. High tide tonight will be at 8:19pm.

:04:51.:05:00.

Natural Resources Wales are reaching people to stay away from the coast

:05:01.:05:06.

and I and across the weekend. The deputy head of a Cardiff

:05:07.:05:09.

comprehensive school has pleaded guilty to three charges of

:05:10.:05:13.

voyeurism. 47-year-old Gareth Williams has been remanded in

:05:14.:05:17.

custody. He'll be sentenced next month. Nick Palit reports.

:05:18.:05:26.

47-year-old Gareth Williams arrived at Cardiff Magistrates' Court this

:05:27.:05:29.

morning to face three charges of voyeurism. He has been in custody

:05:30.:05:35.

since his arrest last week. He is the deputy head of Ysgol Glantaf in

:05:36.:05:40.

Cardiff. The offences did not take place at the school where he worked

:05:41.:05:44.

but he was suspended from his post after being arrested on the criminal

:05:45.:05:48.

charges. During the brief hearing, Gareth Williams spoke only to

:05:49.:05:52.

confirm his name, age and address and to plead guilty to three charges

:05:53.:05:57.

of recording another person during a private act without their consent

:05:58.:06:01.

for the purpose of sexual gratification. The court heard how

:06:02.:06:04.

South Wales Police recovered a camera concealed in a toilet and

:06:05.:06:09.

memory sticks with recordings of five children. He was remanded in

:06:10.:06:14.

custody and will appear at Cardiff Crown Court to be sentenced on

:06:15.:06:20.

February 21. A week after the announcement that

:06:21.:06:22.

Withybush Hospital in Pembrokeshire is to close specialist baby care

:06:23.:06:26.

services, the health board has now confirmed 24-hour paediatric cover

:06:27.:06:28.

will also be withdrawn and replaced with a 12-hour walk-in service

:06:29.:06:36.

during the day. Chemicals which imitate cannabis and

:06:37.:06:39.

ecstasy are being taken by children as young as 12. That's according to

:06:40.:06:43.

the Drug Interventions Programme in Gwent, who say there's a growing

:06:44.:06:47.

problem with so-called legal highs. Now, a unique scheme in Wales is

:06:48.:06:50.

analysing samples of the substances sent to them anonymously and

:06:51.:06:55.

publishing the results. But it's been criticised by opposition

:06:56.:06:59.

politicians. Paul Heaney has this special report.

:07:00.:07:06.

Sold in eye-catching packaging, these chemicals, complete with brand

:07:07.:07:12.

names, I designed to imitate drugs like cannabis and ecstasy, but many

:07:13.:07:17.

are more potent, and editable but legal. This mother spoke to me

:07:18.:07:21.

anonymously about the effects so-called legal highs had on her

:07:22.:07:26.

son. Withdrawal is horrendous. Paranoia, panic attacks. The

:07:27.:07:32.

addiction was so intense that he could not stop himself. This

:07:33.:07:39.

34-year-old used legal highs too. He is clean now but is concerned about

:07:40.:07:44.

the side-effects on others. Your family don't want to see right back,

:07:45.:07:48.

sat in the living room dribbling. The reaction is that song and

:07:49.:07:52.

severe, you don't know what is going to come next. Support workers share

:07:53.:07:57.

those concerns about younger people trying them because they are easily

:07:58.:08:01.

available. Young people have indicated that people as young as 11

:08:02.:08:05.

and 12 have tried these substances which is quite alarming. More people

:08:06.:08:12.

are being referred for help at clinics like this across Wales. I

:08:13.:08:18.

want to know how easy it can be to get hold of them. Just a short walk

:08:19.:08:24.

away, I found a shop selling legal highs. There are plenty of this

:08:25.:08:30.

across Wales and on the Internet. This imitates cannabis. I bought it

:08:31.:08:35.

from that shop for ?8. I want to know exactly what is in it. This

:08:36.:08:40.

project, backed by the Welsh government, tests samples of the

:08:41.:08:44.

drug centre them anonymously by people across Wales. They publish

:08:45.:08:48.

what chemicals are in them on the website along with reported

:08:49.:08:52.

side-effects. Sometimes illegal drugs are mis-sold as being legal.

:08:53.:08:58.

Accurate information about what is out there, what is contained in

:08:59.:09:02.

substances that people are able to buy quite readily, and enabling them

:09:03.:09:09.

to make informed choices. Could you test something that we managed to

:09:10.:09:13.

purchase as a so-called legal high? Absolutely. These are the elements

:09:14.:09:21.

my Sample was made up of. Look how little has been changed from another

:09:22.:09:25.

substance which is illegal. Not everyone is happy with this free

:09:26.:09:30.

testing service in Wales. It has the potential for abuse. Drug dealers

:09:31.:09:34.

could use it to gold standardise their product. It is anonymous if

:09:35.:09:41.

you use it. It is very important for us to be able to identify these

:09:42.:09:44.

substances, find out what is in them, find out what harm they can

:09:45.:09:48.

cause and then disseminate that information. The scheme is unique to

:09:49.:09:56.

Wales but it may be some time before we know if this approach can reduce

:09:57.:10:00.

the problems substances like these can cause.

:10:01.:10:03.

Council leaders are calling for urgent talks with the First Minister

:10:04.:10:06.

Carwyn Jones in order to put forward alternative proposals for council

:10:07.:10:09.

reorganisation. All 22 councils met for the first time today to discuss

:10:10.:10:12.

proposals to halve the number of authorities through a series of

:10:13.:10:15.

mergers. Here's our political editor Nick Servini.

:10:16.:10:25.

They came from town halls across Wales after nearly a fortnight

:10:26.:10:29.

poring over the Williams report, which in effect called for almost

:10:30.:10:33.

half of them to lose their jobs. Today, they had a chance to share

:10:34.:10:37.

their diverse views. Are you prepared for a merger? Currently,

:10:38.:10:43.

no. We are looking basically into the business case in the report. I

:10:44.:10:49.

don't think the figures stack up at the moment. I don't think we have an

:10:50.:10:56.

option. There will be some dissent, I am sure, but I think we are where

:10:57.:11:00.

we are with it and let's get on with it if that is the case. I don't know

:11:01.:11:06.

if a merger in any authority is the right thing to be doing at this

:11:07.:11:10.

time. Most of us are preoccupied with massive financial pressures.

:11:11.:11:16.

Regarding the detail and regarding Newport's position, we have got some

:11:17.:11:19.

proposals we might put to the first Minister. Can you tell you what they

:11:20.:11:26.

are? Not at the moment. And then agreement was reached on the way

:11:27.:11:30.

forward. They say they accept change will take place but change on their

:11:31.:11:36.

terms. We would like to put a compelling case to the first

:11:37.:11:40.

Minister for change in local government. We would like that to be

:11:41.:11:45.

considered. It will flow from an analysis that local government

:11:46.:11:49.

itself will undertake, particularly looking at costs and looking at

:11:50.:11:54.

boundaries. Carwyn Jones could force through these changes regardless of

:11:55.:11:57.

the views of the council leaders meeting today but the reality is, if

:11:58.:12:01.

they dig their heels in, they could make life very difficult for him. If

:12:02.:12:05.

this is going to be a smooth transition, he will need the buy in

:12:06.:12:09.

of all the council leaders right now. Reorganisation will take place

:12:10.:12:14.

amid a backdrop of cuts. Among the latest, our proposals by Cardiff

:12:15.:12:18.

council to hand over the running of the new theatre and St David's Hall

:12:19.:12:24.

to outside organisations as it looks to save ?50 million. One big

:12:25.:12:27.

question is whether reorganisation will make councils better equipped

:12:28.:12:32.

to handle those cuts in the future. The milk industry used to dominate

:12:33.:12:35.

the area around Whitland but tonight the dairy has finally closed and

:12:36.:12:38.

Dairy Crest will process its Welsh milk in Gloucestershire. It means

:12:39.:12:43.

that there is now only one dairy left in Wales supplying the

:12:44.:12:47.

supermarkets. Here's our economics correspondent Sarah Dickins.

:12:48.:12:57.

This is the second time Dairy Crest has closed the dairy. It lay empty

:12:58.:13:03.

for 17 years but then reopened by Proper Welsh, a group of business

:13:04.:13:06.

people who wanted to sell Welsh milk bottle in Wales for supermarkets.

:13:07.:13:11.

Logistically, it was close to the farms, it was at the right end of

:13:12.:13:16.

the M4 corridor, and most of the customers were just off the M4

:13:17.:13:20.

corridor. It made great sense to start the base close to the source

:13:21.:13:24.

of production and deliver the milk East, rather than take it out of

:13:25.:13:31.

Wales. But a year ago, Proper Welsh hit financial problems, could not

:13:32.:13:35.

pay wages and Dairy Crest bought the site. It continued the Proper Welsh

:13:36.:13:42.

site. Now to proudly Welsh brands will no longer be bottled in Wales.

:13:43.:13:50.

The brand Proper Welsh leaves our shelves and will no longer exist.

:13:51.:13:56.

Welsh milk for Dairy Crest will be protests -- processed in

:13:57.:14:00.

Gloucestershire. This is one of just 80 tankers that come here every day.

:14:01.:14:05.

The milk goes from the farm, into the tankers, and now it is going

:14:06.:14:09.

into this processing plant. 188 million litres of Welsh milk will be

:14:10.:14:15.

coming here every year. Dairy Crest is adamant it will keep Welsh milk

:14:16.:14:21.

separate from the moment it arrives. You can see the tagging of the tanks

:14:22.:14:25.

in terms of the Welsh raw milk and will be given priority is based on

:14:26.:14:30.

milk types. And guarantees that when shoppers buying Melksham milk from

:14:31.:14:40.

them, it is. -- Welsh milk. There is a balance between giving consumers

:14:41.:14:44.

what they want from a source, so they want to buy local, and needing

:14:45.:14:48.

the scale and efficiency to make sure we can give customers value for

:14:49.:14:54.

money. From today, most of the Welsh milk on supermarket shelves is now

:14:55.:14:56.

processed in England. Still to come.

:14:57.:15:00.

It became an iconic song of the First World War. But what was its

:15:01.:15:03.

impact on the two brothers from Denbighshire who wrote it?

:15:04.:15:07.

It's that time of year again when Wales gets gripped by Six Nations

:15:08.:15:14.

fever. Claire is at the home of Welsh rugby on the eve of the

:15:15.:15:18.

tournament kicking off. Good evening. Welcome to the

:15:19.:15:22.

Millennium Stadium, where the stage is set for tomorrow as Wales welcome

:15:23.:15:28.

Italy in the Championship opener. Wales have got their hands on this

:15:29.:15:36.

trophy for the last two years. The question is, can they lift it again?

:15:37.:15:49.

Wales are aiming to become the first team in history to win the Six

:15:50.:15:53.

Nations three years in a row. George North has described the

:15:54.:15:55.

Italian team, tomorrow's opponents, as mean and muscular. But Wales say

:15:56.:15:59.

there will be no banana skin. They're focused and ready to start

:16:00.:16:02.

on their attempt to make sporting history. Ashleigh Crowter reports.

:16:03.:16:07.

To win it once was fantastic. To do with a game, a revelation. But if

:16:08.:16:14.

Wales can win the Six Nations outright three years in a row, that

:16:15.:16:17.

would make them the greatest team in the tournament's history. Most

:16:18.:16:21.

bookies justifiably have them as favourites. It is the same nucleus

:16:22.:16:27.

of players who have been there and done it before. With everything else

:16:28.:16:31.

in Welsh rugby turbulent and uncertain, Warren Gatland's team 's

:16:32.:16:35.

actions are consistent. We are all friends. It is nice to see

:16:36.:16:44.

everybody, you can hear the stories and what everyone has been to, so it

:16:45.:16:48.

has been quite nice. Everyone is looking forward to getting back into

:16:49.:16:52.

it. Hopefully being another successful tournament. It is worth

:16:53.:16:57.

remembering that Warren Gatland was on his Lions sabbatical when Wales

:16:58.:17:00.

won last year and the record books have grown up an interesting

:17:01.:17:07.

statistic. France have won the Six Nations but after the last three

:17:08.:17:13.

Lions tours. Whether it is the autumn or the Six Nations, we tend

:17:14.:17:17.

to start slow and get a lot stronger as the tournament goes on. We will

:17:18.:17:22.

hopefully build and create some momentum. We want to make sure we

:17:23.:17:28.

don't get caught with our pants down, so to speak. Lovers of all

:17:29.:17:34.

things Italian may wish to pop into the national museum before the game.

:17:35.:17:39.

Here you can enjoy the subtle artistry of Italy's great

:17:40.:17:43.

Renaissance painters who rediscovered classical values in art

:17:44.:17:46.

and philosophy. It is fair to say we can expect something rather more

:17:47.:17:50.

crude from their rugby team when they put on their own exhibition at

:17:51.:17:59.

the Millennium Stadium tomorrow. Their pack is strong and experienced

:18:00.:18:03.

with almost 600 caps between them, as friends found out last year. They

:18:04.:18:08.

will want to keep it tight, especially with injuries to key

:18:09.:18:12.

three quarters. We are going to try to play our best because our last

:18:13.:18:20.

match was really poor. We start this Six Nations against a tough team,

:18:21.:18:25.

Wales in Wales, so it is going to be a very difficult match for us. Wales

:18:26.:18:30.

will take some beating tomorrow. It should become double win. They hope

:18:31.:18:35.

it will be the first step on real rugby greatness.

:18:36.:18:40.

Well, the Six Nations kicks off tonight. The Under 20s are playing

:18:41.:18:46.

at Eirias Park. Let's head to Colwyn Bay and hear from former Wales

:18:47.:18:48.

international Rob Jones. Good evening, Rob. The Under 20s starting

:18:49.:18:52.

things tonight, but let's look ahead to the main event tomorrow. Wales

:18:53.:18:55.

have their sights set on making history. Are they your favourites?

:18:56.:19:07.

They certainly are. They are very confident bunch at the moment and

:19:08.:19:11.

unlike some of the other teams in the championship, it is a very

:19:12.:19:16.

familiar look about what they will put on the field. There is a lot of

:19:17.:19:19.

quality, a lot of international experience, and they look a

:19:20.:19:23.

confident side who are going for history. Warren Gatland is talking

:19:24.:19:27.

about that. It has not been pushed to one side. And that is the site

:19:28.:19:36.

beaming in confidence. With the ongoing feud between the regions and

:19:37.:19:40.

the Welsh Rugby Union at the moment, many players have said they are glad

:19:41.:19:43.

to be in the Wales camp, away from everything. Do you feel it is

:19:44.:19:52.

affecting some of the players? It certainly would have affected the

:19:53.:19:55.

majority of them, those that have been talking about central

:19:56.:19:59.

contracts. Rhys Priestland has openly admitted it has been a

:20:00.:20:03.

frustrating time for him in trying to make a decision. As soon as they

:20:04.:20:07.

get into team Wales and Warren Gatland's setup, there is a sense of

:20:08.:20:12.

relief, they can focus on winning another championship. I think they

:20:13.:20:16.

will feel a lot easier in themselves taking to the field tomorrow. It is

:20:17.:20:21.

difficult. Welsh rugby is in a problem state at the moment but

:20:22.:20:24.

fortunately for us, our national game is still thriving.

:20:25.:20:29.

Well, despite all the excitement, there's no getting away from the

:20:30.:20:32.

ongoing dispute between the WRU and the regions. A deadline set by the

:20:33.:20:37.

regions passes tonight and, as things stand, there's no sign of any

:20:38.:20:42.

agreement between the two. We've been looking at the impact all this

:20:43.:20:54.

is having at grassroots level. This kick to decide the destiny of

:20:55.:21:04.

this quarterfinal. Pontypool's glory years, the mid-70s

:21:05.:21:09.

to mid 80s. Welsh champions, cup winners and thousands at Wadi Poole

:21:10.:21:13.

Park cheering on the superstars of the Welsh game. From prime time to

:21:14.:21:21.

smaller time. Pontypool are now a semipro side in the 30

:21:22.:21:26.

championship. Average attendance, 500. Grassroots rugby is feeling the

:21:27.:21:32.

strain. The WRU say they have invested ?20 million in grassroots

:21:33.:21:36.

rugby over the past five years. Junior rugby saw 2000 new players

:21:37.:21:41.

last year but the union admits to a significant drop off at youth level,

:21:42.:21:45.

the senior game struggling to key players and second-team matches

abandoned. -- WRU. We don't know what we are aspiring to, we don't

:22:02.:22:05.

know what role we can play in the wider game, and while there is a

:22:06.:22:08.

debate going on between the union and the regions, it is just as

:22:09.:22:11.

crucial that the club game has a say. BBC Wales understands the

:22:12.:22:17.

region and WRU also have major differences over the future of

:22:18.:22:20.

grassroots rugby. Some of the regions would like to get more

:22:21.:22:24.

involved but the union sees it as their responsibility. This current

:22:25.:22:28.

crop of players know they are treading in the footsteps of genuine

:22:29.:22:32.

legends of the game. But one of those legends is concerned that if

:22:33.:22:35.

the club game is not sorted out, there will be a knock-on effect for

:22:36.:22:41.

the national side. Nowadays, we have got a very strong national team but

:22:42.:22:46.

it is in spite of the rugby at this level. There is no escaping this

:22:47.:22:50.

problem any more, they have got to act now. And they have got to act

:22:51.:22:54.

together for the benefit of the whole game. Whether there is light

:22:55.:22:59.

at the end of the grassroots tonal might become clear once the elite

:23:00.:23:03.

level row is sorted. And the WRU say they are in the

:23:04.:23:07.

process of conducting an in-depth review of the grassroots game. Now,

:23:08.:23:10.

if you haven't got a ticket, don't worry, you can catch all the action

:23:11.:23:14.

from the sofa. Here's the weekend's coverage on the BBC. Tonight, the

tomorrow afternoon, Wales start the defence of their title. Coverage

:23:42.:23:45.

time. It started life as a throwaway music

:23:46.:23:49.

hall number but became one of the iconic songs of World War One. Pack

:23:50.:23:53.

Up Your Troubles In your Old Kit Bag was composed by two brothers from

:23:54.:23:56.

Denbighshire. But the song was to affect the two men in very different

:23:57.:23:58.

ways, as Carwyn It became the anthem of the Great

:23:59.:24:08.

War - a simple tune that connected with soldiers on the Western Front

:24:09.:24:16.

and their families back home. What emerges in this song is that this is

:24:17.:24:20.

the voice of the average British soldier. The working class

:24:21.:24:24.

cheeriness which is associated with that character comes through in the

:24:25.:24:26.

lyrics. Those lyrics were written by George Powell, the music by his

:24:27.:24:30.

brother Felix. They were born and bred in St Asaph and lived at this

:24:31.:24:34.

house in the shadow of the city's cathedral. By 1915, they'd become

:24:35.:24:36.

popular entertainers on the London stage and it was during this period

:24:37.:24:40.

that Pack Up Your Troubles was born. They entered the song in a national

:24:41.:24:43.

competition, where it won first prize. It became an overnight

:24:44.:24:46.

sensation at home and in the trenches. For the office is looking

:24:47.:24:53.

to keep the spirits of the men up, singing was an obvious way to do

:24:54.:24:58.

that. Obviously, singing in time with the marching helps the marching

:24:59.:25:01.

go with a swing. The song brought the Powell brothers wealth and fame

:25:02.:25:04.

but it wasn't to last. George felt that the song he'd written was

:25:05.:25:07.

accompanying soldiers to their deaths. He became a lifelong

:25:08.:25:10.

pacifist. Felix served in the war as a sergeant and during peacetime

:25:11.:25:14.

continued writing musicals. But in 1942 he committed suicide. He had

:25:15.:25:23.

never ever achieved the success of that song again and it is a bit like

:25:24.:25:30.

a trench pop star, one-hit wonder, that everybody knows. I think that

:25:31.:25:34.

depressed him terribly, that he was not recognised for his other work.

:25:35.:25:37.

But the brothers' legacy lives on. Over the years, Pack Up Your

:25:38.:25:41.

Troubles has been chanted from the terraces and even remixed as a pop

:25:42.:25:44.

song. And this year, as the world prepares to mark the centenary of

:25:45.:25:48.

the start of World War One, the song will enter our consciousness once

:25:49.:25:50.

again. And we stay with the weather for our

:25:51.:25:52.

main headline tonight. Hazardous conditions over the next

:25:53.:26:03.

48 hours, starting with tonight. Ice could be an issue. You need to take

:26:04.:26:08.

care. There is a yellow warning for that. We have also got some showers.

:26:09.:26:18.

The main rain band has cleared. And where the sky is clear, we will see

:26:19.:26:22.

the rain turning to ice on the ground. Temperatures around the

:26:23.:26:28.

freezing mark. Notice the tight isobars for tomorrow. All associated

:26:29.:26:31.

with this deep area of low pressure which is going to bring some

:26:32.:26:37.

problems tomorrow. There is a further risk of flooding, especially

:26:38.:26:42.

along coastal areas. If that was not enough, we have got the showers

:26:43.:26:47.

packing in from the west. They are wintry at higher levels but as the

:26:48.:26:50.

day goes on they will become a little bit milder. The time of high

:26:58.:27:07.

coast at that time if you can. The showers will continue through

:27:08.:27:11.

tomorrow night. It will remain blustery into the early hours of

:27:12.:27:15.

Sunday morning. At least the wind will help to hold up those

:27:16.:27:20.

temperatures. And then finally, we get a brief break on Sunday. Some

:27:21.:27:25.

dry spells, fewer showers, like the winds and then more wet and windy

:27:26.:27:29.

conditions heading our way through Sunday.

:27:30.:27:32.

And we'll keep you up to date with the latest weather situation over

:27:33.:27:38.

the weekend. Updates on BBC Wales, Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and online.

:27:39.:27:41.

We're back at 8.00pm and at 10.25pm. For now though, from all of us, have

:27:42.:27:44.

a good evening.
