I know it was not the same everywhere, but we have just had

our hottest UK day since July 2006. 33 degrees in parts of eastern

England, and we were not alone. France is still experiencing

temperatures hotter than they were in June 2003. The orange colours

continue to last overnight. But they become confined to the south-

east as fresher weather pushes in overnight. We set off a few

thunderstorms across parts of the Midlands pushing into northern

England. But during the night, they will become confined to easternmost

parts. Most areas will stay dry, but some could see heavy downpours

across the south-east, where it will remain humid. Much cooler to

the north and west, where we will see cooler skies tomorrow. Where we

have had heat and humidity, tomorrow will feel a good deal

fresher. Still humidity in the south-east corner. Still the threat

of thunderstorms here. Away from that, a bright start. One or two

showers here and there. We could see showers developing Northern

Ireland after a dry and sunny morning. Any showers that form

across Scotland will be few and far between. A much drier and brighter

day for many. It will feel warmer than it did in the east. Northern

parts of England should stay dry and bright. Further south, more

cloud around. We could see a drop in temperature of 10 to 15 degrees

across parts of the Midlands. One or two showers, predominantly

cloudy. We should stay dry in Wales and the south-west. If you get

yourself out of the breeze and into the sunshine, it should still feel

warm. Parts of Essex, Kent could see one or two thunderstorms. But

that humid air gets pushed into the Continent as we go into Wednesday.

It is a fairly weak a ridge of high pressure at this stage. Sunshine

between the showers and there will be a lot of dry weather. We stick

with temperatures around where they should be at this time of year into
