Good evening. Some parts of the UK are suffering from a prolonged bout

of rain. This deluge brought flooding to the South West parts of

England, West Wales and Northern Ireland where it is still pouring

with rain. Locally they would have seen more than that and that is on

top of what fell over the weekend in Northern Ireland. An ongoing

concern about flooding as we go into the night. Our attention turns

to the east coast of England into eastern Scotland as we get into

tomorrow morning. Elsewhere it is drier and not cold. One or two fog

patches first thing. But it will be a windy start and a wet start in

the North East. It will stay wet all day across eastern parts of

Scotland. That is of some concern. Elsewhere it is a quieter day.

There is a chance to mop things up. In Wales there is some brightness

around. The winds will be lighter than today. One or two showers in

the south-west and they should not be prolonged either. There will be

some heavy showers developing in the English Channel into the

southern counties through the cause of the afternoon. Some brightness

in East Anglia and the Midlands. The rain will ease away from North

East England. In eastern Scotland there will be a strong wind and the

Grampians could see up to 30 or 50 mm of rain. That goes well on into

Wednesday across the far north-east. There will be thundery showers

overnight spinning up into central and eastern parts of England. There

will be some spells of sunshine, although there will be some showers

in Southwark and Western areas. Looking further ahead, it is not

good news. Another area of active low-pressure heading up towards us.
