From all of us here on the late team, whatever you are doing, do

Good evening. The recent cold spell is coming to an end. Slowly but

surely warmer air is moving in. It is a warm front which will be

ousting that cold air, even from northern Scotland. By the end of

Wednesday we'll all be with this milder air. I think you will notice

the difference with temperatures reaching double figures on

Wednesday. Snow over the hills of northern and

central Scotland. Temperatures will drop to freezing

here. Elsewhere, temperatures on the increase through the night.

Eight or nine Celsius across the south-west on Wednesday morning. It

could be slippery, the rain falling on frozen surfaces in northern

Scotland. Not a problem for the central belt. Maybe ten Celsius in

Belfast. A barmy start to the day here compared to recent days. It

has been cloudy across England and Wales. Chilly in the east, with

outbreaks of rain. Cloud and mist elsewhere. Temperatures widely at

double figures. A milder start to Wednesday. Slowly, but surely that

rain will creep out into the North Sea.

The rain may be persisting over western Scotland. More snow up over

the hills. It does say cloudy. A little bit of Sunshine is possible

here and there. Even without the Sunshine temperatures will reach

double figures. Just eight Celsius in Aberdeen. The milder air not

reaching here until Thursday night. More wet weather in the north-west.

Temperatures widely reaching double dig gets. A better chance of seeing

breaks in the cloud. On Thursday night we will see a

change. This weather front pushes south.

On Friday, that rain continues to track across England and Wales. It

could be heavy in places as well. Further north, it turns brighter.

Temporarily it turns colder with temperatures down to single figures.
