In between, we have a clear slot. It's under those clear skies where

temperatures are tumbling away, a frost setting in, a fairly hard

frost too one or two places. At long last the rain showing signs of

easing from East Anglia and the south-east. We'll avoid a frost.

Across the north-west of Scotland, Northern Ireland clouding up too,

and temperatures will be on the rise, but for most after a chilly,

frosty start, lots of sunshine to look forward to. That should

encourage the spring bulbs quite nicely. There is the extent of the

sunshine through the morning. Slow improvement across Eastern England.

The cloud thinning and breaking, at long last sunshine. Rain arriving

across Northern Ireland. Western Scotland, a strengthening wind.

Light winds and lots of sunshine through the swathe of Northern

England and the Midlands. Eastern England, brighter skies. It will

feel much warmer - 8-10 Celsius across the board. More cloud

creeping into parts of Cornwall, West Wales too, cloudy. It won't

spoil things. Sunshine further east. 3.00pm, things going downhill

across Northern Ireland. The drier weather won't last that long. The

rain will pile in. It will start to feel chilly. That rain into Western

Scotland too by the end of the day. Perhaps dry weather hanging on

across the east - all courtesy of this weather system. We'll all get

a splash from this oneate as it scoots across the country Tuesday

night into Wednesday morning, but it won't hang around after a wet,

windy start for many. The rain will continue to move its way south-

eastwards. Behind that, things will dry up and brighten up, but it will

turn colder. The showers in the UK will start to turn wintry again
