Good evening. The key to the weather forecast this weekend are

the cloud breaks. Where we get them by night there is the possibility

of see ing this. The spring sunshine will lift temperatures

into mid-to high teens. It will be dry for much of the country.

Tonight there is rain across north- west England, Northern Ireland and

western Scotland. Here, with much more cloud, there's not much chance

of seeing the northern lights. Elsewhere there are a few breaks.

Eight or nine Celsius the low in most towns and cities. For most a

grey start to Saturday. It should start to brighten up. We'll get

breaks developing in the cloud. Sunny spells through the Midlands,

southern and eastern counties of England. Eventually it could

brighten up across eastern parts of Northern Ireland. If we do get a

hint of waterry sunshine temperatures may reach 13 Celsius

in Belfast. Western Scotland will stay grey. 10-11 Celsius the top

temperature here. To the top of the mountains we could see temperatures

into the teens where we get sunshine. To the west of the

Pennines mostly grey. To the east we should get sunshine. As we

should across the Midlands, East Anglia and the southeast. Not going

to be sunny all day everywhere. Where we get some sun, temperatures

may reach 15-16 Celsius. South-west England may see cloud, particularly

around the coasts. Coasts of Wales may stay glum. With sunshine over

the east we may reach 12-13 Celsius, if we see things brightening up for

Wales against Italy. Coverage of the Six Nations, of course, on BBC

One. Through Saturday evening we don't see a great deal of change.

Maybe the odd spot of drizzly rain around western coasts. Most places

dry. Sunday is a similar set-up, with western areas likely to be

mostly cloudy, with drizzle on the coast. Central and eastern areas
