Good evening. The temperature in Southampton reached 11.7 Celsius,

100 years ago today, as Titanic set sail. It was not the same

everywhere, for others, it was a cold day. It was governed by the

low pressure system. 100 years later, the chart is similar. Low

pressure to the east, plenty of showers wrapped around it. For

longer spells, rain and snow across south-east Scotland. The rain

continues overnight. It pushes into north-east England. A few showers

around coastal districts. It is cold, with a touch of frost. After

the sunny start for some tomorrow, an ever-changing skyscape. Some of

the clouds become heavy and thundery. At 8 am, scattered across

northern and western Scotland. Most will be dry and bright. It is a bit

cold. The dismal start for the North of England. A few light

showers elsewhere across western England, Wales and the seven

counties of England. Inland, it should be dry and clear. As

temperatures rise, the cloud will build and the showers will develop

widely. Some of the heaviest will be across central and eastern

Scotland and England. Large rainfall totals for some of you.

Hail and thunder a possibility as well. In the sunshine, 12-14

Celsius is possible, but in the showers, the temperatures will take

a dip. They will dip again overnight. A few more showers in

land into Thursday. But Chile night and Richard Lee start to Thursday.
