in Breakfast tomorrow morning. Good Good evening. I know the days are

now getting shorter. I am confident that eventually they will turn a

little bit drier. But that is not the case for the next few days.

Certainly not the next 24 hours. We are expecting further heavy rain.

The Met Office has an amber warning in force in parts of north-west

England. This is the radar today. It shows widespread heavy downpours,

thunderstorms in north-east England. It will be a wet night across

eastern Scotland. Particularly dusty along the south coast of

England. Areas of rain spiralling across the country. With the cloud

and rain, temperatures staying at ten-12 Celsius. Friday, another wet

and windy day, particularly strong winds first across the south. Here,

it should not be quite as much as today. There will be some sunny

spells. It will turn drier across eastern parts of Scotland but in

this sewn across Northern Ireland, south-west Scotland, North Wales

and especially north-west England, the rain continues to fall all day

so we are particularly concerned about the major conurbations across

north-west England. The main building up through the day. There

is the real threat of flooding especially by the end of Friday.

There will be outbreaks of rain across the North Midlands and North

East Midland. It does not look -- it does not look pretty at

Headingley. For the South it will be drier. There will still be some

showers. They will zip through because of the strings of the wind.

Because of the strength of the wind, even if you get sunshine it will

not feel particularly warm. There will be drier spells across South

Wales but North Wales looks like having a soggy day. Again, here,

and across Northern Ireland and south-west Scotland, with

persistent heavy rain, there could be problems with flooding.

Elsewhere across Scotland it should turn a bit drier after a wet night

tonight. It looks drier across eastern Scotland in the afternoon.

But there is more rain to come for the weekend especially across

northern Britain. Further south, it looks drier and brighter. There

will still be a breeze blowing, not as strong as tomorrow but still

noticeable and temperatures disappointing for the time of year

and then another area of wet weather arrives. This bloke will

bring another spell of strong winds and heavy rain across Saturday
